Then you just let the high end SWF stomp killers all day long? who says solo survivors can't hit that level?
Unless they add coms to the game nothing. You don't just ignore SWFs, you reward killers for playing against 3-4 man teams. Give them more blood points or even make it easier to grade up.
-
Good players bully the living crap out of wraith now, but he still has some builds that let him compete. Good tile setups can completely take away your ability to hit people as wraith, and that's just the way the cookie crumbles.
-
I ran it while doing a gen challenge and it felt like very few people at my MMR use aura perks anymore. There was maybe 1 lethal and a few BBQs, I'd say about 70% of my games it sat at 3 stacks and never moved.

The idea that experienced players smurfing vs new players should be used for balancing purposes. In your case it's you face camping and tunneling for x games to make a point that "these strats are too effective". How is that any different from pointing to the hardcore survivor challenge and drawing the conclusion that survivors need massive nerfs? Or if a god nurse buys a new act and plays nurse exclusively for 20+ games?(I imagine you would see an easy 100% win rate)
You should balance at your highest population of survivors, not smurfs or new players. The problem recently is that we don't know what kill rate the developers want.

Getting better at the game? If you can't have a good time getting your ass kicked by better players, than that's a you problem.
Coming home after a long day at work, and firing up MKX or MK11, then getting smacked around by the likes of Sonic Fox or the #1 Best Shao Khan player in the world was the highlight of my day. It let me know I WAS good enough of a Sub-Zero to get matched with them.
I'm sick of it it Hunt : Showdown where they reward players who can't aim worth a crap. The ones who rely on sitting in a corner with 15 traps at every entrance and exit, camping a corner with a shotgun. I'm sick of the crap players who can't do anything but spam a bunch of bullets and hope RNG carries them.
I'm so sick and tired of everyone trying to celebrate and reward mediocracy. Everyone wanting their "participation trophies", wanting to win when they don't deserve it.
I am literally over the MMR cap on both sides, I am telling you it's not a good idea to balance this game around competitive SWFs. Literally no one would escape unless they were in a SWF. It would be a different story if this were a game like DOTA or League. But, it isn't, what you want to balance around is your highest population to keep the player base up.

I guess God nurses are fine then?
I don't know how that has anything to do with streamer SWFs, and I also want to see her nerfed.
-
@Carth said:
Why did you smurf and buy a brand new acct to do this on vs your main? Based on this style of experiment I guess the 4 top streamers doing hard core survivor challenge and curb stomping 20+ killers into the ground is proof killers are trash and survivors need heavy nerfs?
Regardless of the answer face camping and tunneling was too strong before the patch even and should have better protection base.
If you balance the game around 1% of the player base how is the other 99% suppose to enjoy the game?

These posts aren't going to stop them, only some actual changes are. The recent dev post talking about how they are just sitting around watching just made things worse.

UPDATE
The 18 win streak is now a 25 win streak. I played 7 more games today (uploaded on Youtube).
The MMR seems to have increased a bit as I see more people trying to double back during my blinks, but I occasionally still get survivors begging for mercy after the 1st kill or getting easily grabbed, so I don't think it's going to end soon. There was still not a single match going to the exit doors yet.
EDIT: removed text about game 25 as it's not that interesting after all
You know your MMR is high if you start to see a lot of meta perks being ran. In all your screen shots I have seen so far you have very few, you have a ways to go.
-
I know there was a dredge adept bug shortly after he was released to live, maybe its back?
-
Basement has become an inevitable death this patch, if no one on your team runs baseline BT. Smart killers just body block you and count to 6, if you aren't running OTR and don't have BT, you die. If you get hooked in basement in the endgame now, gg, get a better gaming chair.
-
I feel like Iron Will was a perk they wanted to die much like Dead Hard when they said they wanted to shake up the meta. Funny enough Dead Hard is 10 times more value than the current Iron Will. While it still has uses on quiet survivors, if you run meta exhaustion perks it is pointless to have equipped iron will. I thought they were going to make it time based like Lucky Break, and allow you to regenerate it while not in chase in the killers terror radius. The exhaustion is what killed it in my opinion, 75% is enough on survivors like Ace.
-
You definitely missed the boat if you didn't get everyone to at least prestige 1 before the patch hit. I am finding it to take around 500k just to get an addon I want to play with on a killer.

Oh it’s dust alright.
I am a 90% survival main that's been more willing to sit in 15 minute killer ques rather than play the part of the game I like. I don't imagine I am even close to being the only one.

They won’t do anything “until the dust settles”. I guess when the dust settles they have to start advertising again to gain a new player base :)
The dust has settled, people don't want to play survivor. I don't know how much more dust you want to settle.

Have a nice break, hope to see you back soon :)
Makes me wonder how large of a killer que the developers are okay with until they actually do something.
-
I have also been doing a similar protest, if the killer comes back to the hook to hit me after I get unhooked, I slow walk back to the hook. Enjoy your game, I'll see you in the next one :)
-
Head on, Quick and Quiet, Blast Mine, Red herring.
Basically to annoy the killer as much as possible.
-
My favorite is when they finally decide to pick up the survivor after having left them slugged for almost 4 minutes, letting them wiggle off, and having that survivor point you out. If that doesn't make you want to boil yourself alive idk what will.

If It's Nurse, Legion, or Plague I just throw myself at them and move on. Not playing games against killers with 30 slowdowns just so they can have fun stomping a solo queue team.

Groups are dying as well, unless maybe skilled 4-men swfs. It's more "have 5k+ hours on the game and a group, or die."
I am just glad I hit rank 1 before the ######### train hit.
-
What we were promised: Baseline game changes to reduce camping and tunneling.
What we got: Play in a group or die.
-
Eyrie of Crows is arguably Ghost Faces worst map, I got it 3 times in a row before without any offerings. Could be unlucky or just that we notice when we get shafted more often than when we get lucky.
-
We went from the game being statically killer sided to the game being statistically more killer sided, I don't know why with a game where most of the player base is soloQ people would complain about that. Honestly just baffled, maybe someone else can answer for us.
-
@TheSubstitute said:
I have a suspicion that a significant portion of the people complaining are doing so due to a lack of willingness to adapt. For example, I still see posts talking about DS when OTR is now more effective than pre-patch DS was.
In a game where you need four times more survivors than killers you probably shouldn't make the killer side easier than the survivor. 5 second stun DS and end game DS made it better than current OTR, it was just objectively stronger last patch than what we have now. You can adapt and still be weaker. I know what the meta builds are for both sides right now, I am still dying significantly more as survivor and basically one hand 4king as killer.
The patch is a disaster numbers wise, anyone claiming people are just whining and can't adapt need to stop brown nosing YouTube killer mains and start asking for them to fix the game before there isn't one left.
-
If they wait until 6.2 there wont be a player base left, the biggest mistake they are making right now is waiting. They really can't afford to wait, at least slap a hotfix on decisive strike or something. Putting out a statement that you aren't doing anything was a huge mistake imo.

Distressing, Unnerving Presence, Sloppy Butcher, Coulrophobia. Double terror radius addons and a small map offering.
You basically injure everyone and they can never heal, get everyone to tier 1 and never use your power to keep your terror radius big (unless you can't find anyone). Feels disgusting, just about every game I have done it they give up. It is nearly impossible to heal (I have played against it).
-
My escapes are entirely dependent on whether or not the killer has figured out the meta perks. If they are running similar perks to last patches meta we have a chance, if they have the new meta perks it is hard to win. Don't ask me what they are, I don't want to lose more than I already do.

I have the perk, but I've never used it 😄 I run OTR, eboony circle of healing, balanced landing and second wind. I found a new love for balanced landing and I cant stop using it, but Ive never been one to like exhaustion perks. Before my build was resilience, iron will, my lovely eboony and DS.
I would like balanced landing if they passed over each map and made sure you had at least 2 spots to use it. There are map layouts where you literally can only use it jumping down the shack stairs. Until then, I won't part from lithe. I am also a huge fan of OTR + Deliverance, it makes you such a nuisance.

I bet you hid for the full slug and pissed both players off
Two things happen when you go help a slugged survivor when there's just two of you. 1. You die with the other person. 2. You die and the other person gets to die later or get hatch.
Or you take the option where you are in control and have a chance at the hatch, which is to let them die.

@BrokenSouI said:

Hell no. The "s tier" killers are the only thing that makes this game fun on survivor. I don't want all my killers to just be "lolz loop shack 3x drop pallet, repeat" Give me a nurse and blight to outthink. They have plenty of counter.
Also. I'm pretty sure the coding for gens is just a flat rate. Meaning the value to complete a gen is 90 seconds or 90 charges (I hope I got that right). I doubt BHVR would change the code just to make the first few gens 100 seconds......Why would the first couple of gens need to be 100 anyways ?
See the problem with this argument is that you assume you can't just buff perks and killers after you reign in the outliers. When you have broken killers like Nurse and Blight they bring the whole rest of the game down with them. If you fix the outliers you can then look at the new data and buff the rest, but the data from blight and nurse make the game look normal when 99% of it isn't in a good spot.
-
Killer sided for what? 2k, 3k, 4k? It really depends on what you want the game to be balanced around, if you want it to be balanced around 2k then the game is killer sided.
-
I feel like you are trolling if you don't run Windows and OTR right now, they are just the highest value perks in the game for survivor.

This is fascinating. I swear I read a thread where people said that they have tested reporting and nothing ever happened. I try not to use it in a toxic way (being salty, "revenge") and instead focus on the actual categories and definitions.
This does give me some hope. Thank you!
In game reports don't do much unless you get a boat load on one person, but they have a report feature on their website where you can send in videos and stuff that is pretty decent.

@Marigoria said:
Survivors and killers working together is the worst thing this game has tbh.
Just the other day a dwight and a nurse were working together to kill everyone else in the match.
Record it, it can get them banned for a few weeks.

So let me get this straight. You sold your teammate out by abandoning her to die, and you're confused as to why she pointed you out? You made a choice. You opted for the safe route for you, so she denied you that safety. I'm not saying you were in the wrong to prioritize yourself, but you made your bed then you had to lie in it
No the killer slugged for a 4k, couldn't find OP so he used the other survivor to find him. OP did nothing wrong, you cannot work with the killer it goes directly against ToS.
-
If you record it and send it in on the dbd website this is against ToS, I have had it happen multiples almost always during the slug for 4k. Even had a TTV do it to me once and when I pointed out what they did was a temporary ban they basically spent the next 20 minutes berating me in their stream.
-
So I don't think camping and tunneling are happening more, camping in my games has definitely fell quite a bit. What people (myself included) are complaining about is how tunneling became more easy this patch. DS died, people don't run BT because of the baseline change, nothing works in end game collapse. So in other words, while camping happens less, tunneling happens at about the same measure, but the killer is having an easier time if they decide to tunnel.

The survivor can try to wait out the slug game if they want to, but they are being just as stubborn and try hard as the killer.
Every time I do this the killer ends up working with the survivor to kill me.
-
80 second duration, 5 second stun. One time a game that deactivates during end game or conspicuous actions. Ez fix.
Tunneling would disappear over night, you wouldn't even need to run it.
-
The only people who get punished by harsh DC penalties are people who actually have internet problems. People who DC regularly will gladly eat 24 hour lockouts and do it again tomorrow.
-
@Laluzi said:
Definitely. I get that they're locked in with platform achievements unless they become literally impossible, but there's no such restrictions with the archives. When something's function changes, challenges associated with it should also change if they become too situational or unrelated to what the old challenge asked for.
Like, imagine if there was a Botany Knowledge challenge that wanted you to heal yourself twice with the same medkit. It'd still be technically possible, but that's not what that perk is for anymore. Likewise, Dead Hard has nothing to do with dodging a hit at this stage - challenges should update with the times.
If it makes you feel any better the dead hard challenge doesn't require you to get hit when you are using dead hard. It just requires the killer to swing and miss you, which can be done with near miss vaults and spinning around the killer.
-
Less people are running BBQ so they no longer feel confident in winning the 50/50, not to mention sole survivor is a possibility now. Before the patch there was about a 90% the killer would slug for a 4k, now its every game.

There are too many meta perks better than Iron Will to justify running it at all. It is a dead perk imo.

Honestly, I don't think its as easy as you say. You did it in 3 matches but how do you know that wasn't simply luck?
Whether luck had anything to do with it or not, worthwhile keys are extremely limited. I have every survivor P3ed minimum and I still have less than 15 keys combined between all of them that could open the hatch. Even my main survivor, who I had perked out prior to the update, has only 3 keys. Not to mention getting a minimum purple rarity item now is even harder with the new bloodwebs and mandatory prestige.
Previously, the challenge relied on simply finding the hatch before it opened ideally and you had a key. Now, it relies on you being the last survivor, with a key, finding the hatch, with the killer finding the hatch, the killer actively choosing to close it, and leaving for enough time for you to sneak back and open it (as you can get grabbed opening the hatch). All for 30,000 BP. Do you not see how the times have really warped how this challenge is to be done?
If your argument is you can still throw the match to have your team killed to get your challenge, I think that isn't a good response to an argument about making old challenges fair still.
I am simply saying it can be done, it is annoying for sure, knowing the best way to do it is to hide all game and never touch a gen or chase. Sure it could have been luck but I have had some challenges take up to 15 games to do, these two were very quick for me.

But bHVR has said they are wanting to fix that, So take a seat.
Wanting to fix something and then fixing it is two different things. As of right now, iron will isn't worth running on most survivors.
-
@dugman said:
I saw a test Otz did of Iron Will at 75% and it actually does work, just obviously not as well as complete sound reduction. It does make it noticeably harder to hear survivors unless you’re right near them, especially if there’s any background noise nearby too.
That said I’m not sure why they tied it to Exhaustion. To me that’s probably the bigger nerf. They probably could have not done that and left the reduction at 75% and it would be fine.
The problem is that it isn't universally useful, you kind of have to also understand which survivors are louder than others. On the already quiet survivors it is a decent perk, but on the loud ones it is kind of pointless.

Please, how did you do the hatch one? Even in a SWF with a hatch offering, the killer just never left the exit gates.
You really only need a key and a hatch offering, both games my team got slaughtered so it was me looking for the hatch. I let the killer close the hatch and waited for them to patrol a gate further away. There are some perks that will make it easier to do like running sole survivor, adrenaline, distortion. If the killer is not closing hatch try getting their attention by making noise or try and be friendly and get them to close it. It is much easier to do if your whole team dies, but it can be done with a 4 man escape.
-
I have done both of those challenges in the past 2 days if you want any tips let me know. The hatch one took me 3 games, and the dead hard one completed in my first game.
