Ingame Graphics options
Cosmetics that you can combine IN THE STORE so you can see how they mix and match (and above and beyond would be the option to load into a test map to run around with chosen cosmetics.)
KYF without the need for others
-
sooo what is this "theory" based on?
and what does it matter anyway? might as well tell me in what hand im holding my pen atm, right one? wrong.... now what? left one? hey you guess correctly...now what?
Its not going to change that is there already, we will have a PTB in like 2 days and the teasers are actually teasers meaning they reveal the absolute minimum meaning your guess is just that, a complete guess.
-
My reply will drown in the sea of comments but ill repeat myself again:
Imo if survivors are waiting in the exit gate area, the killer should be able to walk up to the door controls and insta-close it, forcing the survivors in the area out and nowthe door is closed again fro the remaining survivors.
This would lead to interested and exciting endgame were survivors can still go to the area for safety but should leave quickly to avoid the door being locked, stealth killers can make particular use of this.
-
The reason its underrated is that its underrated, just to make that clear.
The perk is not expected by killers because nobody runs it, hence they tend to fall for it
If it was meta, it would become useless rather quickly.
-
console killers and pc killers camp and tunnel alike, literally no difference.
-
the original concept was to match people of equal skill level, this was quickly deemed nonsense by the community and finally after a long time the devs also came to realize this, hence the MMR system is...well apperently is coming.
But I have been trying to tell people since the dawn of time that rank does not matter, nobody seems to understand is, there is nothing you can do in this game that negatively impacts your progress.
Throw a match, go stand in the basement, you still get points for it, you dont get minus points, so you lose a rank? now what? do you get less points on the lower ranks? nope, are certain cosmetics or maps or add ons rank-locked? nope, rank does not matter at all.
-
Who cares? its not like anything is going to change one way or another....
-
its the opposite, toxicity comes from frustration, thats it.
Same reason racism etc flares up when a country is not doing well economically, people are unhappy, need someone to blame, need to vent, boom racism etc reborn.
In this game, people are treated like crap by people who dish out what they received themselves, endless cycle.

I have the Hillbilly pants and I could buy the entire set for 200 Auric Cells - at least the message asking me to confirm the purchase appears. Does the set not appear for you in the store or do you get some kind of error message when you try to buy the entire set for 300 Auric Cells?
see im at work now so i cant check, but yeah I could swear that hillbilly is also available to me for 200 auric cells.
But wraith, does not show me anything that makes me thing it is on a discount.
the difference being that I have 2 pieces for wraith and 1 for Billy.

Just to clarify, you own two of the pieces of the set, and want to buy the third piece. The third piece costs 400 Auric Cells. The entire set is on discount, and costs 300 Auric Cells. Because you already own two pieces of the set, the store doesn't let you buy the entire set for 300 Auric Cells, but rather you have to buy the one piece you are missing for 400 Auric Cells?
Yep, think about how insane that is, the insult to injury that is this event.
I played the last 2 events, I got 2 parts from it, and now because I have 2 parts I cannot benefit from the discount and have to pay the full 400 auric cells to get the last part.
Meanwhile people who never spend time on the previous event can buy the entire set for 300 auric cells, these players are better off then me timewise and financially.
Wrap your head around that one, quality move BHVR, pretty good job so far.

Seemingly yeah, quality stuff that isnt it? as if it was not painful enough the way this "event" has turned out,
now im being punished for even participating at all in those 2 previous blight events as right now I could get all 3 pieces for less money then the cost of the 1 part I dont have....
Great move bhvr, really thinking this stuff through.

But that doesn't make them as much money, if someone only wanted one piece from an outfit, they could pay the discounted price of 200 (as an example) instead of the full discounted price of 700.
They don't put the pieces on sale as it is simply wouldn't make as much revenue. It's a money thing, plain and simple.
yes.... so why did you say " They do this so that you get a better deal buying the outfit as a whole then buying its pieces"
Its not about providing you a better deal, infact, its straight up a worse deal, its forcing you to still pay more then you want, aka, complete bs.
-
you actually think there is just a "best" build? just use what you like and/or make up for where he lacks with perks.

I disagree. There is a knowing malice in it. 1) Babies are absolutely being matched with Red Rank Survivors. I just watched it six times in a row last night. And in every case it was one of these SWF put together with that purpose in mind. Statistically, six games in a row is not a fluke. And playing with your friends is fine, but if you are a High School Student playing Dodge Ball with kids in Kindergarten, you aren't REALLY supposed to play. You are teaching, nothing more. If you do more, you are jerk.
technically you are teaching the killer as well.....
Also what are babies? because personally from experience (3000 hours so far) I say that everyone up to rank 7 is a complete baby.

Correct. The discount only applies to a set, not individual pieces. It’s only forgiving for two pieces:
Like say you had bought just the Wraith weapon, you’d have the 75% discount for the head and body as a set. But all you have left is the body.
Also it’s not BS. You just didn’t know.
no, its till bs that first of all the discount is not for individual pieces and second of all that I cant pay the set price for 1 part because right now that would be cheaper.
@ProfoundEnding said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1710922#Comment_1710922
It's because discounts are only applied to a whole outfit. Not its pieces. This is how it has always been.
They do this so that you get a better deal buying the outfit as a whole then buying its pieces. In the end it saves you money while also giving them more then they would normally if someone was to buy only one or two pieces.
put the same discount on the individual pieces... 75% discount on 400 auric cells is 100 auric cells so that sitll would add up to the smae 300 auric cells the set costs without being tied to buying cosmetics you dont want.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
"WHY NOT JUST PUT ALL DAMN BLIGHT SKINS ON THE SAME 75% discount"
The Wraith-Skin is on 75% Discount. But a Discount applies to the whole Set. If you want to buy the complete Set, you pay 300 ACs, if you want to buy pieces, you pay 400 ACs each. Thats the same like always.
wait what, so because I have 2 parts it does not show a discount at all? why cant I pay the 300 then for the 1 part (not that I wll bit still weird), I can see a discount onthe billy skin just fine and I own the pants of that set, and then still there is no discount on all of them or the discount is less so which is complete random bs.
-
Lets make sure we have a distinction here, people like to play this game with friends, when they got a friend that just bought the game to play it with them you are going to have these rank disparities but there is no ill will associated with it.
Also the matchmaking rarely means that you go against absolute babies anyway
-
dont worry, I think the math is for every extra bloodpoint you get an extra frame per second, so should be good

Then what on earth is up with that post of yours?
All >PLAYERS< complain (rightfully so) about the survivor meta, keys, mori's, tunneling, camping and that they should not be a thing.
What on earth is going on in that little head of yours to frame it like its one side that is the problem/complaining? seriously.
heck was it not the sammination joke that survivors were the one with a "killer rulebook" ?

Yea, the game is super toxic and most of the players would deserve it to get screwed over by their mates.
But the thing is, not everyone is toxic.
Lets say you play as a Survivor and in your team were 2 toxic survivors and one really kind and helpfull survivor.
Now you decide to DC for whatever reason, everyone is screwed over (even the killer kinda)
Now the 2 toxic survivors probaly deserved it but whats with the one good survivor? He didnt deserved it and also does have a problem now.
Also if you get camped its the best to just struggle as long as you can so your mates can do gens.
By this way, you heavenly punish the killer for it and if everyone would do that, there wouldnt be any campers anymore.
In every case DCing is the wrong way. Except for bugs and hackers of course but they are so rare, you wont get a high penalty for it and its not worth it to remove the penalties just for this.
I ever only had to DC 1 or 2 times because of bugs and one time because of a full team of hackers. Its so rare that you REALLY have to DC, that you shouldnt even care for.
That one kind survivor can just run up and die as well? what will they lose? oh no their precious ermm item? or oh no a bit of rank? like who cares? just get to the next match and pray its one of some modicum of value.
and the struggling on the gens that punished killers, look, we are waaaay beyond that now, camping killers dont care about rank or bloodpoints, not one bit, you can do all the super exciting gameplay of sitting on a gen holding M1 all you want but its always just a waste of time, you get no points, you derank just like the killer and if the killer has noed probably wont escape anyway.
Its all a massive waste of time, honestly your time is worth more then that, dip and find a new match, its far more enjoyable.
(also imagine being the killer, if you want to go that route of discussion, you camp and all survivors just run up to you to die and they do that every match, that should be exciting right?"

So he stood behind a tree and held down m2 as aposed to the survivor who crouched at a gen and held down m1.
same amount of skill same amount of perfect play.
You sound like a bandwagon killer forum troll to be honest.
Look dont be silly, lets forget all of this for a second and first of all agree that matches like OP discribes are of little to no value, if myers manages to stalk so much (survivors fault) that he can get to T3 and just mori everyone first time...well what value was that match for anyone?
pretty much zero gameplay and therefor also zero points, no hooks, no unhooks, might as well have camped.
But the insinuation of OP, that he feels he is entitled (yes im actually using that word for this) to an escape etc because they feel they did well and its their team that was bad...
That they feel a killer should still do poorly when the other survivors were potatos and 1 was decent...like how does their mind work?
its 4v1 if 3 out of those 4 perform poorly the 4th member is going to suffer as it should, think about it, imagine it wasnt like that, how extremly unbalanced must the game be when facing 4 decent survivors....
Its just an extremely silly and weak "argument".
I also dont believe OP has ever tried to play myers, let alone tried to get to T3 with those extremely slow add ons against a team that is did not literally just pick up the game.
-
Just think about how they play or how you (want to) play them, then think what perks work with that.
If you are someone who frenzy hits a lot, then perks that require a basic attack would be silly, so for example SloppyB or Franklins is out.
Just open the wiki, check killer perks and see what you think would work well.
Personally I am giving all killers (not possible due to not enough perks in the game so for me its no Freddy or Nurse) their own set.
For my Legion im running Spies of the Shadows, Unnerving Presence, Caulrophobia and Overcharge.
-
dear lord does OP reveal themselves to be a survivor main and perhaps exclusive player, this entire post is pure irony really

@Demonl3y said:
You are the reason why they exist.
,,Oh no i dont want that map, le me DC!"
Oh thr game will be unfun for ME, so let mr DC and screw over the other!"
I find that returning "screw over the others" argument very interesting.
We all accuse eachother constantly of being super toxic but here we suddenly are the best of friends and should care for eachother?
But sorta related, a camping killer for example means there is no match, no value, just a waste of time so yeah you are not really screwing over the team in that case, you are just dipping out and suggest others do the same.
-
I mean sure, maybe, eventually but look at the timing, we literally JUST got the midchapter patch which adressed Pyramidhead.
Next would be the next chapter, and after that we might see a midchapter patch with demo but that is still quite a wayz off.
no way they would start doing any sort of hinting now
-
if you are so hellbend on sabo'ing, then dont bring a pustula, not that hard
-
I think the general advice is to play some Playstation equivalent to Civ5 in the meantime.
-
"You can play perfectly but because your teammates feed Meyers stalk, you get punished by the level 3"
This is seriously your attempt at an argument? really? honestly?
-
Graphics and game mechanics are not done by the same people so both can exist side by side
-
My post seemingly did not go through but the gist of it was:
The community feeds eachother and yet, its only by the grace of this "oh so toxic" community that the game survives.
If you play relaxed, chill and get completely dominated and made fun off at the end, you are going to try extra hard next time, no more ffing around!, then you end up completely bullying the other(s) who were basically you from 1 match ago, just wanted a relaxed fun match, now you are the sweating one.
And maybe those that bullied you were the victim of a camping slugging tunneling pos the game before.
There is just too much in this game that zaps the game of fun and challenge, survivor meta, camping, tunneling, mori, keys but these are known issues.

I don't know if you're trolling or if you're actually being serious
Let's look at this so called 'new friendly' game shall we?
Ahem, @Xbob42 provided a good list above of why this game is horrible for newer players so if you don't mind Bob, I'm borrowing your list:
- Perks are distributed randomly even after you unlock them
- Perks have 3 tiers, so you have to randomly earn them 3 times to get to their actual usage
- A ton of the perks have a bunch of status effects literally not explained in the game, requiring you to find information somewhere else (the wiki)
- All matches are ranked, so you're placed with more experienced players from the get go
- The only way to practice is to force a friend to sit in your game since there's no practice mode for solo (there is the tutorial but that doesn't teach you how perks function in game or how to practice looping against certain killers)
- It's a team-based online co-op game with no in game voice chat, the only methods of communication are pointing and motioning someone to come towards you.
- The ranking system is complicated and confusing for newer players, rank 20's against rank 8's or 2's, some have even made threads on this forum saying they were dissatisfied with this game because of the poor matchmaking.
Therefore, I fail to see how this game is friendly to newer players...
Guess the first confusion sets in regarding what someone defines as a "new player"
When people speak of problems with the "new player experience" I would think the problems are with how the menu's work and the tutorial, getting started if you will.
Talking about perks and what to run is way beyond that point, new players imo are thosethat literally play the game for the first time and maybe the first 20 matches or so, the absolute basics of moving around etc.
Now as for your list:
- Perks are distributed randomly even after you unlock them
Perks dont matter, heck I think it would do a LOT of players good to play the game without any perks for a month or so.
- Perks have 3 tiers, so you have to randomly earn them 3 times to get to their actual usage
Yes....and?
- A ton of the perks have a bunch of status effects literally not explained in the game, requiring you to find information somewhere else (the wiki)
See now we are talking, yes you need the wiki for some stuff, I would dare anyone to play Warframe without the wiki but that is not an excuse, I agree that info should be ingame, maybe expand the tutorial with extra info tutorials.
- All matches are ranked, so you're placed with more experienced players from the get go
Or less? I mean matches being ranked has little to do with the matchmaking just not working correctly and that is an issue for new and old players alike, rank 20s should be matched with rank 20s, which for the most part I find they are so not really that big an issue.
- The only way to practice is to force a friend to sit in your game since there's no practice mode for solo (there is the tutorial but that doesn't teach you how perks function in game or how to practice looping against certain killers)
Ermm you practice by...literally just playing the game...just play and you will start to understand how it works, like literally any game out there.
Its not like there is any negatives, nothing is taken from you when you do poorly, you can only gain.
- It's a team-based online co-op game with no in game voice chat, the only methods of communication are pointing and motioning someone to come towards you.
Yes...and? that is literally just how the game is designed, what does that have to do with a new or old player experience? and its only co-op for one side and even that is debatable.
- The ranking system is complicated and confusing for newer players, rank 20's against rank 8's or 2's, some have even made threads on this forum saying they were dissatisfied with this game because of the poor matchmaking.
As said earlier yeah, the match making is atm wack, hence the MMR system is coming which will hopefully fix things but again that is an issue for new and old.
Someone being number 1 being better then someone being number 2 is not that hard a concept the grasp, the problem comes more in the communication when people speak of "low ranks" and "high ranks" hence the prefered way to reference it is with the colour, red ranks etc.
Again, something to pick up on but not beyond the average gamer I may hope.
-
I mean, why are some players in general so sweaty.
I think its just because we feed eachother, its really sad.
Like honestly if I go back a decade of online gaming, to the days of L4D, KF1 or Battlefield Bad Company 2, it was great fun, made lots of friends.
And the place of toxic bs was...the Xbox 360.
But that seemingly has spread all over the interent.
In a way im also guilty of it, but now because I have bad intentions.
Imagine one match, you play pretty chill, just having fun and the otherside just completely destroys you and gloats about it.
Now for you next match, you are thinking, alright, time to get serious, lets see how I can do now, and before you know it everyone is dead on hook (if playing killer) and you realized you just basically bullied a casual squad and not fun gameplay was had really.
Its just because that previous match completely set you up for that sorta strat being needed to stand a chance and had you used it against that previous squad, were you prepared, that could have been a very thrilling match.
But you were not prepared and instead you set yourself up like that for the next squad, who werent prepared and maybe they will then prepare for the next match, bringing their precious meta etc, and then the killer they face, who just wanted to have some fun gets completely overrun, etc etc etc for eternity.

The grind is insane, you have people who stream the game with thousands of hours in playtime who still haven't maxed out.
They did say on stream though a while ago that Grind is intentional to get players to continue to play, So take from that what you will.
Same thing with Warframe, one of the devs (kinda sadly) stated he still has faith people will play something in the game....for fun.
And the other dev kinda cynically stated: "that ship has long sailed".
Killing Floor had leveling, but you mostly played it because it was just fun, KF2 is another collector/grindfest.
Left 4 Dead had zero unlocks, it was purely played because it was fun.
That new very populair Phasmophobia (im quite a fan myself) has leveling yeah, but that I feel is more for the dev to figure out a realistic progressing system, right now its just about playing the game really, just the fun of it.
But it is quite and interesting question, how many people would play if they just had everything they wanted already, all cosmetics they cared about, rift was done etc.
Lets not forget the playerbase mostly dropped for a bit at the end of the previous rift because the grind was unreal and extremely unfun, so many I feel were just burned out for that time, but what if we ignore that aspect and purely look at hte idea of players playing just because its fun.
idk interesting question.
-
its not self explanitory at all, "best" is so vague, it could mean all kinds of things.
Best looking?
Most original?
Most fun to use?
Most effective?

Can this stop?!?!
Game developers can BOTH be passionate about their product AND have the right to earn a profit and wages for their employees.
Gaming is NOT a charity. This player base needs to grow up.
I mean that makes little sense because its an entertainment industry, they need to keep us entertained and when they do a poor job of that, like for example only caring about more money, they will earn less...
This has nothing to do with "growing up" its understanding the relationship, the customer is always king, that sorta thing.

And ghostface can enter stealth in an instant, and attack instantly out of stealth. only delay from ghostface is that he can attempt to stalk to get instant downs, but good ghostfaces don't usually do that, they instead choose to driveby, expecially on injured people.
only difference between ghostface and wraith? wraith gets "total" invis, faster speed and no instant down. yet ghostface can attack instantly, and he's deemed better then wraith in most ways, can disguise and mindgame with his redlight and going into stealth, has a crouch for further stealth and again, can attack instantly.
Wraith cannot. its like old freddy with double block addons. freddy with double block addons was about 4s, wraith is similar a bit faster at around 2.5s off the top of my head, but also is slowed down, meaning survivors get about the same distance.
Ghostface does not gain anything special from his stealth apart from stalking.
Why do you think there is a "grunt" time delay for the Pig to do her dash attack from stealth?
The wraith gains a speed bonus coming out of stealth to quickly catch up and pretty much guaranthee a hit, the wraith is also faster when stealthed to quickly position himself favourably for a hit.
The only thing survivors have to deal with that is to quickly vault a window or so while he is uncloaking, that is the balance, that is the gameplay.
-
ermm new players all suck and are trying to figure out the game soooo no, it is quite friendly to new players, you are talking about players who already have quite some hours in the game.

The game has spaghetti code because the devs cant stop thinking about food because they cant afford any!!
It all makes sense now....we...we are the monsters.
-
Well its because of balance that it is the way it is, if uncloaking was very fast then survivors have very little time to react, which is where the balance comes in.
Cloaking taking a while does not matter as you only do it when not in a position of hurry.

Blight needs a FOV adjustment and Demogorgon needs a buff to how his portals work and to his addons.
Im always against add ons, add ons should really not be a thing the way 90% of them are.
And to make a killer viable because of (then mandatory) add ons is silly.
What buff do you have in mind for how his portals work? because to me they work quite well.

Maybe they prefer gameplay over holding m1 and leaving.
^nail on the head.
OP got the wrong impression, the survivors know full well what is going on, they dont "fall" for anything.
Its just that, and this might sound odd, they started up this game..to actually PLAY a game and not just sit there doing gens and leave.
Either way though, a camping killer is always just a waste of time, wether you do gens and escape, just go afk, or go for silly attempts to unhook, soooo yeah, stop camping pls, if you dont want to play then dont play, you are filling up the killer roster with your pointlessness.
-
It is pretty deperate and therefor pretty darn pathetic, but those people exist, best to just ignore them, BHVR thankfully is.
-
The game is horror themed, but the game itself is just arcade, no different from playing Killing Floor or Left 4 Dead or so
-
I would say nope
-
ill be honest, playing fair is really the only way to have possible some fun in this game.
I never run the meta perks myself, I have a unique build per survivor (not enough perks in the game to provide for everyone) and obviously the meta perks are in there as well but so at "best" I run 1 of them on a character.
point being, meta stuff is just rediculously ez and there is no getting around the fact that stuff you did to "win" or escape was only possible because that silly perk did that for you, which is rarely any fun or rewarding or even just interesting to me.
From the killer perspective, same story really, sometimes survivors play in a dumb annoying fashion, going for insta unhooks etc forcing you to just stay in that location to deal with it.
The only potential for fun imo is when survivors actually play a bit seriously so I can get one, hook them, then patrol gens for the next and hopefully I can down and hook them before or clsoe to when the other is unhooked and healed, so I can move on and go down the list of hooks.
Obviously that also has plenty of potential to be...not very fun, either being too ez or too hard so you can quickly determine how the outcome will be, I will say in general i dont have much fun playing killer at all these days, seems just pointless to me somehow.
But if I do, I play fair because otherwise its complete crap.
-
Im confused
