  • yes, its one of the many many many ez to implement QOL fixes for this game they could just throw in, hell just for a month to test it but nope.avi, these devs seem very reluctant to test anything....and yet they have a ptb....

Anywho, imo when you are fully recovered you should have a secondary bar that takes x amount of seconds to fill, once filled you can chose to bleed out at that moment.

  • because you suffer from confirmationbias

Survivor looks at you - you get revealed and that survivor loses stalk progress, while ghostface keeps night shroud.

so only the survivors who have some stalk build up can "reveal" ghostface to then lose it and that will then also only be for themselves?

  • wait so you get revealed non stop because you never actually get revealed? or does the revealing only work when ghostface has actually build up a bit of stalk?

  • could watch Otz stream, personally though I would jsut say you should keep playing and keep trying to do stuff that you did not do before, waiting instead of moving, walking towards something but in reverse, pretending to go somewhere but then not actually doing so, etc etc

I tend to just run into survivors when memeing around, when you just go to places you would never go to because there is nothing there for you, boom a survivor found!

what you are saying is to create a second character, what I was implying instead is to have trans characters - which is a sensitive subject.

from the thread title and the OP's comment it seems they were asking for the characters genders to be bended, or swapped if you will.

female doc, oni, trapper, deathslinger etc

    male huntress, hag, spirit etc

  • Freddy, I liked old Freddy, then they just straight up changed him entirely with no say in it from my end, basically I SHOULD get a refund because what he is now is not even close to what I bought.

  • Copy Pasting assets, especially the grass is just weak.

I dont know why they even put in the ... ermm...lets call it: effort, to do a "graphics update" and then imo do such a lazy job of it, what is the point.

If you are going to do it and make a big deal out of it, then do it right....

Like why are so many of the effects still so cheaply done, like the fog from offerings, its just floating repeating gifs when we have physics based fog in batman arkham asylum a decade ago and that was unreal 3....

And what about those puddles of water on yamaoka...why do they move like its a freaking river? what is there heavy gusts of wind blowing over that one puddle and affecting nothing else?

Why put in effort to make an effect that makes it look less realistic/good? just have it react to survivors and killers walking through it, make it splash and ripple, go the extra mile have a survivor or killer become wet around the angles from walking through a puddle at speed....that sorta thing.

imo every realm should be build up out of its own unique assets with the only thing being copied over the lockers, gens and a pallets HOWEVER those should have unique textures per realm, for example on Swamp lockers should be rusty and pallets should be nasty moss covered and slippery/wet looking and generators should look slightly overgrown and also rusty.

On dead dawg saloon the current gens fit perfect as is with that steampunk look, now do the same for lockers, chests and pallets.

And if the want to go the extra mile, like dead dawg, every realm should have its own exit gate design (and, for however little it matters, hatch design)

  • well lorewise they forget every match so technically they cant compare killers.

If you take that into account it becomes about what they see for the first time, Im guessing then probably the more grotesque killers, those that clearly mean to do you harm spike the most fear.

That still leaves a lot of options though, Demogorgon is just straight up a monster so youcant even think someone is really pulling a prank on you, Spirit is also clearly uhhh not well.

So yeah lot of options, I would sooner name the opposite, Myers, Ghostface, Legion probably spark the least fear initially.

  • big case of the dont carezors

  • I dont look down on DCing, I feel most people that are are just parroting what the devs tell them to think honestly.

  • @carnage4u said:

If a killer tunnels early, is it becuse someone did a really unsafe hook and they person that did the unhook didn't have Borrowed time? If so, then that can be more of the survivors fault the killer.

If a killer really does tunnel early, if survivors are playing well, 3 to 4 gens should be done in that time. This will lead to killer at best gettiing just 1 kill. This is a loss for the killer. Sucks to be that one guy, but your team won. Good job

Here is a thought, maybe, just maybe, people play this game for fun?

Im getting really sick of the "just do gens" argument when it comes to camping, IT DOES NOT MATTER, you can do nothign but afk all game, you can run up to the killer and die, you can go for silly attempts to unhook, you can hold M1 forever and then open a door and leave, it all comes down to the exact same thing: that game was a complete and utter waste of time.

  • I can't even read this OP, dear lord what a mess.

  • @Nobsyde said:

it would be a very interesting and inclusive idea.

The only problem is that killers (and survivors) do have a lore, meaning that the only way to change the gender with a skin would be to add the gender transition in-lore, which is a very sensitive subject.

They tackled the possible gender swap with the Legion, but while it was a great idea, most "serial killers" work alone, and that's why it will be difficult to replicate.

ermm how is that a "sensitive subject"?

Instead of Jeffrey Hawk its Jennifer Hawk, soo....ermm...what is the problem?

Imagine a surv perk: EED (Everyone escape from dead). If the killer don't hook you before the 5 gens are done you move 4% faster and the killer need 3 hits to put you in the dying state. It's is a good designed perk too?

I mean if the killer can undo the perk completely by hooking a survivor, yeah no problem with it.

  • @Terro said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1762977#Comment_1762977

But why would you try to test if something is balanced by saying that it's balanced as long as nobody adapts to the changes? It's like secretly adding a cheat code that instantly kills all survivors and saying it's balanced cuz the statistics haven't changed, since nobody discovered it yet.

Well...that would actually be balanced up to that point yes, its kinda the reason for example Hag has not been nerfed yet, the amount of people who truely know how to play her well are few and far between but when its finally discovered by the masses...something will have to be done.

Nurse had to be nerfed because "too" many players knew how to play her well and that made it a problem whenever survivors faced the nurse, thats how it goes for almost all things.

If no killer ever would use mori's anymore, then nobody would care about mori's being adressed or not as it would have no impact whatsoever on the game experience.

  • @Terro said:

If they didn't announce it than they'd be spammed with blood lust isn't working reports. It also wouldn't be an accurate representation of how players would adapt to it or play without it on.

But that is exactly the point, how reliant are players upon bloodlust, how much do the expect it to proc etc.

I personally am completely unaware of bloodlust, I dont bank on it to do anything for me, it just sorta comes and goes so I would not notice it being gone personally.

But agian, that is exactly what the want to test soooo yeah....

  • NoeD is one of the better designed perks man, what are you smoking?

You don't get to tell people what they see when they look at an image or a depiction. The portions are similar, victor is hairless, their addons refer to baby toys like toy swords. Victor's voice is chibi'd, sounding very child like. He looks like a demon baby.

eh look at the legs, the proportions, Victor looks more like a 4 - 5 year old

  • @White_Owl said:

    why announce it?

Because they are trying to be transparent?

sure but transparency can completely go against what you are a trying to test.

Imagine feeding someone a placebo and just telling them beforehand "oh this will do nothing for you, its a placebo" in the name of transparancy....that goes completely agains what you are trying to test.

Same here, people create massive horror scenarios in their heads or adjust their builds to deal with these new "made up" scenarios.

If you want to see how it more objectively affects gameplay, just...turn it off, dont say anything, mention it later, again, seems far more valuable.

Ok well you have a valid point there. Very valid, albeit it is still kinda dumb and it wasn't in the lore that he was aged up.

its not a valid point, if we go that way then everything goes and lore is completely and utterly pointless.

You can't really get downed by a bubba out of all the killers if you play well, he's mostly just an m1 killer with an instadown that can only be used if you severly mess up.

ermm have you played this game at all since his rework?

And man how unbalanced would this game be if you cant get downed at all by certain killers

at a glance I thought he was taking off his mouthmask

  • so if you die by getting camped to death by a LF...they are just the better player? you just need to get good?

Dear lord this thread is unintelligent.

  • I have the exact same argument/problem with add ons.

Add ons are fundamentaly flawed from a balance perspective, they should CHANGE what an ability does, not buff it, it should be give and take.

So the devs should remove all add ons, then balance the killers so they are all as balanced as can be stock, with no add ons, then add back add ons but again, they would only change how abilities etc work.

Nurse Blinks a bit further, but the cooldown lasts a bit longer and vice versa.

Demo jumps quicker but less far and vice versa.

    etc etc etc

  • Are you really this gullable?

  • This requires a lot about just how the games go.

If a killer hasnt downed anyone before 3 gens pop...its kinda over, because the killer has not established any pressure at that point and there are 4 survivors and only 2 gens needs left doing.

This is actually why many killers will come across as "try hard" and "sweaty" because from your perspective you are all just messing around or you notice no gens are being done, but from the killers perspective 3 gens will pop at the same time ANY SECOND NOW, that constand time pressure/awareness leads to certain ways of playing.

So yeah following one survivor and just not getting the down they really should have gotten a while ago, the match is already pretty much gone, could just afk from that point in the basement or might aswell finish what they started and chase down that one survivor, camp them to death and thats that.

  • as I said in my own threat, I have a bug that I have had for a LONG time now where my games frames or something suddenly dip as soon as I get bloodlust which makes me completely miss or lose my target.

    I look forward playing normaly

  • Victor is indeed a child, a baby?...well maybe, his addons certainly point towards it.

After they escaped the cult they were in for an undetermind time:

Throughout the years, Victor's corpse rotted

And after: Life into her >teenage years< was a game of survival.

So yeah Victor died when he was younger then 10

  • 100% agree, I find it baffeling as well, 4 years of PTB and still its the half-assed thing it is.

Im convinced the PTB is so discourging to even try is specifically because people cant be bothered redownloading the game twice....

And imagine the possibilities of what they could do with a PTB, its sadning.

But like I said, its been 4 years of nothing from the devs so I have pretty much given up hope, same for many other glaring issues that have potential ez fixes.

I would call camping ez mode for the killer and boring mode for the survivors. And the tunnel thing you mention is exactly what I mean with killer playstyle. You don't have to do that when you bring a mori. And yes, playig without perks is also hard mode. But it is basically the same idea. Remove second chances with perks. Remove third hook by mori. Remove second health state with No mither. imo.

And there are also enough builds giving you a massive advantage. Would you blame a killer bringing no perks but mori? How about no mori but Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer? How about infinite T3 Myers? Or impossible skillcheck doc? Forever Freddy? I would even count silent bell Wraith to that list, regarding the results I get. Isn't that the same "mindset"? Btw, that also counts for the well known smolPP build, or the like 10-survivor perk-pool, that fills like 90% of all games. I guess if you don't run meme builds, you are regarded as tryhard. One's own tryhard build ofc is just to counter the sweaty opponents.

Again, that's just my opinion and feeling about the general community feedback. Just explaining why I feel different about moris

its not just 3rd hook, its second hook, 1 hook is all that is needed and you are out of there.

No perks but mori is something I would still blame the killer for yes, because core gameplay is why playing without perks either side is possible, perks have little influence on stuff like mindgames so if a killer is decent enough, tunnel off the hook and you are out, thats it.

    Ruin/Undying/Tinkere does not impress me.

Infinity T3 requires a rediculous amount of stalking so those games are just massively boring, might as well camp because all that is happening is survivors running away, finishing gens, then he gets T3, everyone gets tombstoned aaaand..yeah gg? no points for anyone.

And yeah I do hate what I could call...unoriginal builds, like playing against bots, like all people are the same and dont put an ounce of self into the matches, its kinda part of the generation though, those that go to streamers and youtubers to tell them exactly what to like and what not to like and what to use and what not to use rather then finding out for themselves.

But yeah, M&A on Deathslinger, Stridor on Spirit, infectiousfright on Oni, STBFL on Demogorgon, Pop on Freddy, Thana on Legion, Tinkerer on Blight, and the survivor meta on...well the survivors, just all sooooo boring and unoriginal.

A meme build is the opposite, No Mither and Self Care, that sorta thing, but plenty of perks can give great value without "winning" the game for you, personally I have all perks devided on all my survivors (with 2 and half survivor being perkless because there are not enough perks to fill it all up) and im having a great time.

Again core gameplay stays the same, I do fine without perks as well, but getting value out of a niche perk is just really fullfilling, actually pointing a killer the other way with the pebble, or tenacity'ing out the exit gate with the killer thinking they had plenty of time, or spies giving me info, or overcharge, you name it.

I know. But if you struggle to finish the challenges in the 2 or 3 weeks you get, then it is fine to get some push, so you at least get to rift 40/50/60 or whatever you need to get the cosmetics you want.

Btw I think the weaker part is the soft rinsed part of the community and the entitlement. For me, moris are hard mode, like bringing No Mither. I know it can suck and you just don't want to play hard mode. But hey, just hop onto the next game if you fail. Escaped enough mori games to know it is worth trying and a pretty rewarding feeling if you do so. The only thing which really sucks is when you are in an SWF and one of your mates has to wait and watch early. Besides that, for example mori off the hook is a killer "fault", not the mori fault. Same like camping or hard tunneling. Not the mori to blame. imo

idk, might as well call camping hard mode imo.

A killer has to hook you one time, then tunnel, and thats it, thats not really what I would call hard mode.

Now playing without perks, that is hard mode, and fun.

A killer bringing a mori...idk its like so pre-setup to be in your advantage, I never understand that sort of mindset myself.

  • Run full meta build, farm in the killers face, then when they finally get me and DS etc is used up, I just kill myself on the hook.

Ok, maybe then you didn't get the OP. I'm fine with bringing a mori and I guess OP does enjoy the game, but if it takes 8 matches instead of 3 and you don't play every day, like it is expected to be able to finish the rift, that indeed it is a problem when you want some progress on the rift. But not a problem like "not enjoying the game if I don't 4k", just like "I'm not that good so the challenge will take forever, or I just get some offering help"

OP didn't even say how he uses it. You can also bring the mori as backup, which is what I do when I bring moris. He didn't say "I mori off the first hook". But if everyone just equals mori to no fun by default, I guess that's a POV that is not understandable to everyone

Eh, mori's are for the weak but whatever.

I do get the "not having time" argument, but sadly just being able to do the challenges is not going to bring you to the end either, you have to play a ton of matches alongside that anyway so in that sense it does not matter if it takes 8 instead of 3.

  • @Deadeye said:

Did you read to what post that was a response to? I don't expect 4k every match

yes and did you comprehend what my response was?

Its not a problem that you dont 4k every match, so the challenge takes a few more matches then 3...who cares? you enjoy playing I hope otherwise why bother at all.

  • 2 afraid 2 edit, just found out your cpu does not start throttling until it reaches a whopping 105 degrees celcius.

  • @HittingOnHook said:

@BioX theoretically that is true but in practice I doubt the throttle measures for an old CPU likme mine (i7 3690Q) will work like a charm!

Right well I had to edit one word on my post and the entire thing did not show up anymore....

Anywho, cant find that cpu for some reason but what I wanted to link was this:

    Untitled Image

This is a random processor on the intel archive website, it has a Tjunction of 100 degrees, this does not even mean that at a 100 degrees it would get damaged, that is actually probably more around 115 degrees, its merely the limit that intel set on it and the cpu will not exceed that, it will clock itself down to reduce power consumption and therefor heat.

A cpu running hot, especially in a laptop where you have very little room to tinker with anything serious like voltage for overclocking, is not a problem...apart from if you have the laptop in your lap and it gets uncomfortable ;).

source? I believe you are wrong! I think my CPU will die WAY faster if run at 92C daily (running DBD) than at 65C without it

    what cpu do you have?

and like I said, its been build in for a while now, this is also the reason why overclocking is a bit less important these days:

Cpu's are designed to thermal throttle if the temp exceets the specs, meaning they will automatically downclock themselves to reduce the power consumption and therefor temperature.

You will never destroy or even harm a pc component by just using it, only when you start seriously overclocking and allowing higher voltages then spec could you possible mess something up.

Intel® Core™ i5-8300H Processor (8M Cache, up to 4.00 GHz) quick reference guide including specifications, features, pricing, compatibility, design documentation, ordering codes, spec codes and more.

Here some random mobile cpu from intel, it has a

    Untitled Image

Tjunction of 100 degrees, everything below that wont hurt it and everything above it will make the cpu throttle until its under it again.

Note that it even says "max temperature allowed", not even that that's the max it can handle, but probably close enough that intel set the limit there.

Solo surv is hell and I'm not a killer main. But yes you're right I should just quit because all my games are not fun, and I am just wasting my time.

confirmation bias is not really something people do on purpose, they just notice a "pattern" and latch on to that and dismiss the, what they then deem, outlyers.

And I mean if its a game about working together then its not that crazy to have to play it with people who you know and..well...can work with right?

But yeah, same conclusion stands, if you are not having fun due to other players that you have to deal with in order to play, then thats just it, its all over.
