Some challenges are very strange.
I've noticed that the older bugged tomes will fail to complete on your first try even though you actually did the challenge. However, if you do the same challenge a second time and fail it, you will complete it at the end of the match.
Surprisingly consistent.

It'd be nice to level survivor webs while queueing as killer or vice-versa too.
Love the idea of it. It would be a little awkward to implement, but it would be very nice.

I shoot them with Deathslinger all the time, but all birds in 24m fly after you shoot your gun.
I'll have to check sometime to see if the hatchet goes through them

Lethal Pursuer or Corrupt Intervention to help his weak early game.
Spirit Fury + Enduring to help with pallets. Alternatively, just Brutal Strength.
Monitor & Abuse if you want to play into his stealth better without using more gimmicky perks.
Jolt or Deadlock for no-brainer, no effort slowdown.
You can save 2 Save the Best for Last stacks by using his T3 down on people, helping with his poor chase when not in T3.
Haven't played him in years, so idk what might combo on him that I'm not thinking of.
==
So Lethal, Spirit Fury, Enduring, and Jolt for an aggressive Myers.
Or Corrupt Intervention, Brutal Strength, Jolt, and Deadlock for a Myers that needs more time to stalk (like an infinite T3 Myers).
===
For add-ons, they are mostly terrible or actively a detriment.
Hair Bow is his best add-on that isn't Fragrant Tuft of Hair or Tombstone Piece. His other duration add-ons simply have poor time efficiency. You take too long to get Tier three with the purple, yellow, and brown duration add-ons without getting any worthwhile benefit. If you are running purple, you might as well run the pink one instead. If you are running yellow or brown, green is simply better in every way.
His stalk speed add-ons are very good though. The one the one for stalking the obsession faster is not as good as the other two tho.
Dead Rabbit is a trap. The increased TR while in T3 is too big of a drawback.
Scratched Mirror and Vanity Mirror are fun and gimmicky. They are not for winning, but for having a good time.
==
Pretty much just Hair Bow, Fragrant Tuft of Hair, or Tombstone Piece and then any stalk speed add-on. Most of his other add-ons are not very good. I prefer Hair Bow over the others, I don't like having to stalk for such an insane amount of time.

Amazing. Just about everything you said was wrong.
Go watch how to report someone on YouTube and stop trying to convince other people that reporting does not work. Especially when it does.
Accounts cost $2. I could ban every cheater I come across and they'd just start playing and cheating 10 minutes later.
The problem cannot be fixed by manually banning and reporting every single one the dozens of accounts that any particular cheater might be using, especially if we're talking about the needlessly obtuse and time-consuming report system this game has if you are actually trying to get a cheater banned.
Problem is that it's stupidly easy to cheat in this game. Once again, you could ban someone and they'd be playing again 10 minutes later. Account bans don't work in any game. ANY game. You need to hardware ban people, IP ban them, or server ban them.
I used to play with a lot of hackers back when I played on Xbox, so I like to think I know a thing or two about cheating in games. Also have played with some hackers on PC. Generally, most pre-packaged anti-cheats are about as useful as... well, literally nothing. You need an actual cyber security expert to prevent hacking or else they will just run rampant once one person release a cheat package.
Edit:
I think there was a time in this game that you could straight up just edit game files and play just fine. Most people used it give themselves 100 or so FoV to play normally, but you could also mod the game and replace character models so you could find people easier.

Watch Coconut's video on how to report.
People just give themselves a private profile and make their name 25 random Unicode symbols, or play on streamer mode so you can't report them.
Or they play on console and turn on their cheats with console web browsers by going to websites that use memory injectors (actual thing, btw).
You can't stop cheaters with reports, a new account costs $2. They need to hire an actual cyber security expert to help restructure their architecture and make cheating extremely difficult right from the get-go, instead of relying on Easily Bypassed Anti-Cheat

Not at all. Emblems are terrible for matchmaking, MMR is actually a lot better. There was even some good evidence of this when they were doing MMR testing earlier this year and they switched on Grades as the matchmaking criteria and matches were noticeably worse than when they used MMR.
that was the day everyone complained about the most, as well haha

Killer: Franklin's Demise. It's just a really annoying perk to vs. Imagine if survivors had a perk that disabled your power if you got pallet stunned.
Survivor: Circle of Healing. This perk single handedly makes some killers go from "solid if you have skill" to "pick this killer if you want to throw the game."

Big brain moment. Maybe there could be an Alien Vs Predator chapter that comes with 2 killers and 2 survivors.
Gimme Alien and Predator.
Gimmie Sigourney Weaver and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

My advice is to watch killer players on YouTube and Twitch. They're usually happy explain why they are doing what they are doing, and what perks they have do what.
-
It's usually 100% killer around when most people get off work or school.
In other words, when everyone is hopping on to play with their friends in SWF. I never benefit from the killer bonuses bc I'd rather play with my friends and get no extra bloodpoints.
-
There's functionally no benefit to running No Mither over Unbreakable in terms of picksies upsies, but No Mither is still a fairly strong stealth perk (if you don't get caught)
-
Wraith is a pretty dogwater killer.
Having some decent add-ons does not make up for the fact that he has to choose between eating pallets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner playing hit-and-run and letting everyone reset at Circle of Healing or with medkits
-
Would have L O V E D a colonial era slum for the Twins. Urban enviroments are fun to navigate.
I know everyone hates indoor maps, but an apartment complex with multiple buildings would be fun.
-
I enjoy having little moments with the survivors. I play normally for most of the game, not try hard'ing and not going easy on them. If a chance to meme and enjoy a funny moment together comes along, then I take it. I win most of my games, so I'm not really worried about losing for the sake of having fun with a stranger for a few moments.
I also like to go for 360 quickscopes with Deathslinger, as well do some funny nodders and do the dance of my people in front of the hook.
-
It's fantastic when you and your buddies have been drinking all night! 😂
Jokes aside, I once ran this perk for about 10 games and it literally never triggered.
Despite actually being relatively decent, it needs some kind of secondary effect or bonus that is more consistent to get value out of.
-
Prove Thyself gives you double BP for doing gen with a friend, or when double healing someone.
Stake-Out gives you bonus BP from hitting great skill checks.
Saboteur can give you bonus BP from randomly sabo'ing hooks.
Any Boon gives you bonus BP for setting up the Boon. CoH is best, since it also lets you get Survival points for healing yourself.
I can't think of any other off the top of my head, but Any Means Neccesary, Built to Last, and For the People give you a tiny amount of BP when you use them.
-
The terrain in the menu screen is too lumpy and tall where the character is standing, so their feet clip through the terrain.

Otz & Co. should do a series where they see how long they can survive without talking on Discord during matches. I'm sure they'll wind up with the exact same success rate.
They've done a couple games like that in the killer showcase videos, where they invite a player who is an expert on a certain killer and they play custom games.
The difference was pretty much non-existant, partly due to the fact that they have lots of experience playing with each other.

I'm interested to see how things turn out.

One click bloodwebs would be awesome.
The sounds the bloodweb makes gives me headaches, so only hearing it once per level would be fantastic.

I'm not going to say I've never been like that either, but its something I've identified in myself in the past and moved to improve on. Its usually because they're either insecure about their own stance, or conflate arguments between different people and make assumptions based off of how they associate the post (especially when "X-main" accusations start popping up.) There's also a lot of crabs in a bucket mentality on the board, where people don't want to see others get improvements that wouldn't affect them personally, either through what they feel is misplaced urgency at best or "giving everyone but me an advantage" at worst. You see that last one a lot in accessibility topics.
The fact of the matter is that there are tons of very real problems for both sides in this game, and just for the players as a whole. There's so much room for improvement i've become more enamoured with how they refuse to learn from past lessons and fail at customer relations with how they address a lot of these issues. Even then I'd still rather educate people to help them cope with the game's state more than demand they fix anyone's personal problems at the detriment of anyone else.
I'm in a similar boat. I'm a deeply flawed person, but I try my absolute hardest to polish off the edges every day. I'll catch myself thinking "what an entitled XYZ main," but then I make a conscious effort to understand their perspective. We must be vigilant against our own ignorance.
Indeed, DbD has a lot of issues. But if we didn't see value in the game and it's experience, we wouldn't be playing it and talking about it. At the very least, it's exciting to be invested in this game since it changes so drastically over short periods of time.

I made this comment some time ago on a different topic, but I once watched a presentation about video game cameras held by someone that managed the camera perspective of Journey for the Playstation 3 (a game famous for having an A M A Z I N G camera).
During the Q&A section of the talk, someone asked (I'm paraphrasing, it's been years) "You mentioned that developers should always include an FoV slider for players with motion sickness. What should be done for multiplayer games where having a higher FoV can lead to having a competitive advantage?" The speaker responded with something like, "Then why not include an FoV slider? The motion sick player gets what he wants, and the competitive player gets what he wants. Sounds like a win-win to me."

Some people just want to argue, despite others just wanting to educate one another through sharing differing perspectives. They just don't like when things arent an echo chamber.
I always thought people like that are kind of weird. A discussion or argument is best viewed as a cooperative journey to find a mutual truth or understanding. Even if you disagree with each other, you can at least understand one other and walk away with a more enlightened perspective on life.
If someone tries to """win""" a disagreement, it's a good indicator that they're trapped in a perfectionist or narcistic mindset (as much as I hate talking down on people). It's an inability to grow as person or accept that different people come from different walks of life.

We don't really need basekit Unbreakable, though.
Maybe yes, maybe no. It blows to get slugged for four minutes, so I'm fine with literally any solution to that.
I think the upcoming basekit Unbreakable is a little extreme, but adapting to it will at least be fun and interesting.

I think there’s more to it. For instance, say I down a survivor under a pallet and another survivor is nearby. If I don’t slug the dying survivor to chase the other one I’ll get pallet stunned on the pickup, so my only option it slugging. But if I slug and can’t resolve the other survivor in that 45 seconds (or 23 seconds with Unbreakable) then the dying survivor stands up and I’ve gotten literally nothing in two chases of time.
Also currently if I slug someone then I know at least someone else will usually have to come off the gens to revive them. But now the other survivors know they can just stay on the gens unless they’re being chased which reduces the pressure on them. It still might be worth the slug depending on the situation but it’s weakened either way.
Ah, I see. It does kind of make weak killers weaker, while not really affecting strong killers in a meaningful way.
Killers with insane 1v1 would have no trouble with ending a chase in sub-20 seconds, but a killer with poor 1v1 would be trapped into a lose-lose scenario in that situation.
I'm excited to test it out either way.

The auto-mori already addressed getting slugged for four minutes though, you can't bleed out the entire team anymore.
Yes, it's very pog. Anything that makes the game more chill is fine by me.

Can't believe this is such a constructive topic!
what kind of animal is that, btw? Very cute!
-
I'm excited to try it. I will personally try it in KYFs and such tho. PTB matchmaking is... not great.
-
The two changes are largely unrelated. Neither one justifies the other, as they address separate issues.
Finisher mori's address the long and painstaking process of hooking one of the slugged survivors, waiting for them to try to kobe, then looking for the next one and doing the same thing, repeat two more times. Basekit Unbreakable addresses getting slugged for four minutes, for no discernable reason by a BM'ing killer.
Both are good changes, imo.
-
To put the topic back on track, my guess is that since DbD is a fairly frustrating game, people mostly come to the forums while in a bad mood.
So you're catching a lot of people on their off-days or at a bad time when you read what they're saying on the forums. Nothing serious, just people that are upset tend to be a lot more willing to lash out at others.
-
Instead of lumping everyone into one big group and putting words into people's mouths, how about having reasonable and nuanced takes?
Killers that rely on slugging to win like Oni, Twins, and Myers are receiving an indirect nerf from basekit Unbreakable. Not the end of the world for three killers to be a lot weaker, but feels bad for the people that main those killers. (especially Twins, who got bodied by the Endurance meta and then bodied again with the future basekit picksies upsies)
As survivor, bleeding out on the ground is extremely boring. Being able to pick myself up and avoid getting slugged for 4 minutes as survivor is a fair trade off for making slugging when I play as killer more risky. I am all in favor of bringing Soul Guard every game to stick it to BM'ing killers that want to slug everyone to death (killer that stand over you and slug you to death will now switch to standing over you and slugging you to death while hitting you every 45 seconds, and Soul Guard counters that to an extent). Also slugging for the 4k is dead, praise God.
Slugging was always a high risk, high reward strategy as killer. Now you must take greater risks and have the skill to down a survivor in less than 45 seconds to get value out of slugging. Not particularly difficult, but it means slugging when someone is near is no longer two free hook states.
-
I'm fairly certain that the way the new mori offerings work is if you killed a certain number of survivors by any means, and you got a finisher mori, you get the bonus BP.
A little gimmicky and weird imo.
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
It will Initiate Finisher Mori. Gifting hatch will also be a thing of the past.
You just have to not down the survivor to avoid triggering the finisher mori, so you can simply lead them to the hatch while they are still standing.
-
It's because the new finisher mori teleports you to a certain location on the map.
It's probably tied to the animation beginning, so if you were able to mori someone with Devour or Rancor after the update you would likely teleport to the Finisher Mori location.
-
45 seconds is the time it takes to Self-Care from 0 to 100. It's a pretty long time in terms of DbD time.
-
eh, it's more than the zero moris per game you see on average.
The way I see it, the finishing mori is a special treat for killing the last survivor, like how hatch is a special treat for the last survivor.
-
Knock-Out is a really nasty perk in general. It can be utterly brutal for survivors to deal with it, and it sucks to be bled out on the ground bc your teammates just straight up have no idea where you are.
The player you mentioned in particular just kinda sounds like your average killer-only player tho.
-
Huntress. My muscle memory with Slinger makes me chuck hatchets into walls constantly and go for shots that are simply impossible for her.
-
It would be nice. All my killers have a flashy red background, except Wesky boy bc he could never get one.
-
Extremely strong killer that demands high skill to be viable.
There's a reason why Hillbilly is one of like 5 or 6 comp viable killers. It's because he's strong in the right hands.
-
I personally would love to see OG Freddy revisited. Maybe as a blend of current Freddy and OG Freddy.
-
To be fair, blue survivor glyphs make you oblivious or blind, and being oblivious can get you killed fast against certain killers.
There's also white glyphs, which ask you to waste a big chunk of time and take a potentially game changing risk by entering basement.
Orange glyph sucked, but I enjoyed handicapping myself and having a harder match. Got it first try.
-
He could use some simple QoL buffs. Like moving at 110% in tier 1, instead of 105% like he does currently.
Having survivors regenerate stalk points over time would mean he never gets in situations where it's impossible for him to use his power.
Low-key, I think giving Myers a tier 4 would actually be dope. Like after getting enough tier 3's (let's say something between 3 and 5), you enter tier 4 permanently. Gives you permanent instadowns, even faster vault speed, move at 120%, shorter pallet stun time, and faster breaking speed (perhaps a 40m terror radius as well?).
It would certainly make him stronger. It's not like you see Myers running anything other than Fragrant Tuft of Hair anyway
