  • They do go on sale occasionally. Halloween 2019, every DLC went on sale for something like $1 or $2 per DLC. and I picked up all the available ones.

I'd give No Mither Dead Hard's effects (I-Frames and dash), and rework Dead Hard from the ground up

I think that's the best option. It keeps current Dead Hard in the game, but with a major downside (which is also telegraphed).

I would personally turn Dead Hard into Overcome for Your Friends. Taking a protection hit gives your nearby injured teammates a speed boost, making it easier for them to peel so you can take aggro

  • Me: *hooks survivor*

Also me: *sees all three survivors clustered around the hook like hungry seagulls*

Also also me: *camps hook to second stage and then force a 1 for 1*

Survivors: "why camp at five gens???"

Level 3 has a maximum of 4 tokens so you could only reduce terror radius by 16 meters, and you have to hook the obsession.

ah, thank you. I haven't used that perk apart from meme builds, so I forget the intricacies of it

It was updated in a recent patch, but it does not address the issue with the perk

Reduced terror radius in a chase is pointless

I think the perk could be interesting if it reduced your terror radius in general.

It would be more palatable if it was also something like 2 meters instead of 4 meters per hook. Having a 0 meter terror radius at 8 hooks or 6 hooks would not be very cash money for survivors.

  • Deathbound makes survivors Exposed (or just Hindered) if they get too far away from each other, properly forcing them to sticking together.

This Is Not Happening instead increases successful great skill check zones by 30% for EACH injured, hooked, or dying survivor, up to 120%.

  • Nothing quite as soul-wrenching as pulling off a chase winning mindgame as an M1 killer, only to have the survivor Dead Hard to a window or pallet the moment they realize they lost the mindgame.

All I could think off when I saw it lol

Yeah Chris mains, you better be ready.

7 minutes. 7 minutes is all I have before the generators are completed.

  • Yeah, having a "give up" on the ground would be awesome. Too many killers slug people to death just because they can

  • Skybilly finds a way.

  • I didn't watch the livestream. Are yellow mori's getting changed or removed because of this change?

  • It only took people using and promoting an exploit for them to add in a mechanic people have been asking for since the Trapper buff.

  • Even just something like a slower rate of progression for bot matches would be fine, imo.

It's a lot better than nothing to have bot matches at all, however.

  • Oh no, you have to learn about the tools other players can bring to a game and how to work around them? The horror!

yep,...2k is not a win, and at higher levels, 3k often is not a pip either.

Gotta 4k to pip more often than not because you simply cannot play 12 hook friendly game at higher levels. Survivors who talk about "viability" of killers, have usually not even played the complete killer roster at high levels of gameplay.

I love playting CLown, but I can feel the difference between playing Clown and Twins at higher levels. Love clown but I would choose Twins over Clown if it was gonna be a sweaty game anyday

Oh, no, it's not about being able to win with a 3k or 4k. It's "if I'm playing xzy killer in a situation like this, is it possible for me to do something other than lose horribly? Do I have a fighting chance?"

But I feel similarly. Many of my swf friends have only played killer once or twice, but have 1k+ hours. They'll constantly complain about camping and tunneling killers and I just say "Eyrie of Crows, two gens left, M1 killer, and he only has one hook", or whatever the situation is. I'm personally a killer main, I play something like 10 killer matches to every 1 survivor match.

I love Clown, Trapper, and Doc, but I mostly play Slinger, Twins, and Bubba (who I also love). Sometimes, you just straight up can't do much more than camp one guy and get a 1k with a less viable killer.

  • I agree to an extent. Having weaker characters in a game isn't a bad thing, it allows for players to challenge themselves by picking a weaker character.

But I don't think you a very strong understanding of "viable" vs "unviable." It doesn't mean "strong" vs "weak," it's "can" vs "can't."

So imagine a team of very good survivors, say, equal to the skill level of whoever is reading this right now (that means you, Mr. Lurker). They send you to Ormand and bring four Commodious Toolboxes with Wire Spool + BNP, and there's no weak link. Assuming the survivors don't make any extremely grievous mistakes like unhooking in your face and three-genning themselves, which killers can you bring and reasonably expect to get at least a 2k?

Every killer that is "I can 2k" is viable, and every killer that is "I can't 2k" is not viable. As you get to higher and higher skill brackets, the "I can't" killer list becomes longer and longer.

Nobody knows if iron will is working as intended, since BHVR has never clarified it. Also from a logical point of view one would assume that iron will is not working as intended since current IW basically stops survivors from breathing. So a survivor gets injured and not only do they supress their grunts of pain but on top they also hold their breath until they're healed or downed? Doesn't make sense. That's why a lot of ppl assume that it is not working as intended.

Survivors play one of several sound loops based on their status (e.g. panting while running, breathing while standing still, moaning while injured). If you are injured, you do not make breathing sounds. Elsewise you would hear breathing sounds overlapping injured sounds in game.

Iron Will makes your injured moans completely silent. Since this is the only sounds loop your character is playing, you no longer make noise. This is Iron Will working as intended.

Yeah let's kill another perk lol. Survivors should not have anything good.

Most players don't listen for breathing at all or simply can't hear it. If Iron Will made you breathe instead of moan, it would still be strong vs 90%~ of the player base.

It's mostly an annoying and extremely disorienting perk that is seriously not fun to play against.

The three blinks are worthless since it actually hurts her more than helps.

didn't they change it so 3 blinks gives her "-recharge speed" instead of "can't blink through walls"? if you run "+recharge speed" there's not really any downside

  • My advice for people playing killer is this:

    • Don't play a killer without strong anti-loop or insta-down. You WILL get bullied. If you really want to play an M1 killer, bring insta-down perks.
    • Bring at least one slowdown perk (I personally use Deadlock). I dislike using slowdown perks in general, so I understand why you wouldn't want to use them. Trust me, you need at least one, even if it's Sloppy Butcher.
    • If you load into a big map (Ormand, Crows, Temple), change your mindset. You cannot patrol gens on these maps, you need to focus on patrolling hooks and killing survivors efficiently. If you get a 2k on these, you're goated.
    • Curb your expectations. You are not Otzdarva, you are not CoconutRTS, you are not OhTofu, you are you. You're not gonna 4k as perkless Clown for 50 games in a row while reading a newspaper and playing chess. Go for cool plays and sick mindgames, and build off of that. Enjoy the chase. Getting a hit at shack with the pallet dropped is worth 50 4ks.

If all you do is play solo queue I would agree but swf groups are so easy in stress compared to killer.

Swf is pretty agonizing just because the people that you're playing with are the kind of people that only play survivor in DbD ๐Ÿ˜’

  • Just 3-Blink and range need to see themselves out. Her other add-ons are fine.

  • MMR feels... reversed. With killers I play all the time (Slinger, Twins, Bubba), I'm mostly playing against baby survivors that crouch in corners, dead hard into walls, let teammates die on first hook, never do gens, never drop pallets, ect, ect. Needless to say, I usually kill them all unless it's one of those huge maps where you lose simply because each survivor spawned on a separate continent, or some map with many god pallets or safe areas.

With killers I hardly play at all... not gonna say it's sweat squads, 'cause it's not. But it's usually SERIOUSLY good survivors playing efficiently. I want to play against top-tier survivors as Slinger, not as Clown or Pig. I want a reasonable match, not "perkless M1 killer vs multiple BNPs."

  • "cheaters are our customers" - DbD dev

  • You gotta do what you gotta do to win. Survivors are gonna split up on gens, dead hard for distance, abuse strong set-ups, ect. You need to play just as dirty to win, and there's no getting around it.

  • I take my free 4k and pat myself on the back for it lol

  • It might be lag related. Like if you scope in during a lag spike you get locked into the animation. Happened to me with spirit before.

I play pretty much play exclusively Slinger, and I haven't encountered this yet on him, i'll keep you posted!

  • @Emblerr said:

in addition to this, will iron will be getting changed to keep breathing sounds? the description says "grunts of pain caused by injuries are reduced by 100%" this should not make them stop breathing aswell since grunts and breathing are different. if iron will is getting changed id love to hear about it as its not working as intended right now

Iron Will is working as intended. While injured, you make grunts of pain instead of making healthy breathing sounds. If you make no grunts of pain, you make no noise.

Imo, this is a stupid intention.

This thread sounds like it was written by someone who has never played instadown killers or Pyramid Head. Or even just Nurse/Spirit/Blight, all who can power through BT/DS/DH easily

M1 killers suck but nobody says you ever have to play them. Most of the new antiloop killers are extremely strong and are more than capable of taking wins off even sweaty SWFs if you play them well enough

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/CI2FNAIL40OB/screenshot-2022-05-05-143437.png

I wanna say pretty much every single killer before the red line has ways to deal with the survivor meta. And even many of them after it still do.

is that some sort of community made tier list? It's just.... beyond inaccurate

  • tbh OP is right. Iron will should replace injured sounds with breathing sounds, not make the survivor completely inaudible.

  • Imagine four default Dwights JoJo posing in the lobby lol

  • Immediately begin work on Dead By Daylight 2 in Unreal Engine 5. DbD's big issues are that it is held back by irreversible design choices and legacy code all the way back from from 2017. BHVR might not be the cream of the crop when comes to game design, but they could definitely do something solid with a fresh start and half a decade of experience working on a nearly identical game.

  • It would be nice, for sure. You don't NEED Toy Sword, but it's a very feel good add-on to run.

  • I agree, he's got a similar problem as mk. 2 Freddy used to have before his add-ons were nerfed. Not really super strong or difficult to beat, just very boring to play against.

Slinger had to have a "oppressive" 1v1 because he didn't have anything else in his kit.

Balance shouldn't be a secondary concern. If it's unbalanced, it's usually unfun. If it's balanced, it's usually fun.

Fun is subjective, balance is objective

Slinger had pseudo-stealth with M&A giving him a 16m terror radius, which was actually a big deal. He could get a stealthy M1 with M&A, wipe down his weapon with STBFL, and quickscope the survivor before their post-hit speed boost ends. It gave him chases that were only a few seconds long, which was probably not fun for the survivor (but felt reallyyyy good as Slinger).

This is Dead by Daylight we're talking about here. It's an unbalanced mess, and it's always going to be an unbalanced mess. It might as well be a good slop in the mud, at the very least. Balance does not necessarily equate to fun, although excessive unbalance can be boring since it's a forgone conclusion who will win if the scales are tipped badly enough.

Balance is not necessarily objective, either. If balance is "fairness," then it's probably the farthest thing you can get from being objective. Some people will perceive something as extremely unfair against them, even though another person perceives it as more or less tilted in their favor. Doctor is good example of this. Some players despise him since they rely on stealth (they are at an extreme disadvantage), but others think he is weak since they rely on chase (they are at a modest advantage). This is why having many voices on a particular subject helps find a more "true" consensus after filtering the wheat from the chaff.

The only fun thing for survivors to do in Dead by Daylight (apart from memeing) is to get chased by the killer. I'm not sure if anyone is going "oh boy, time to go do generators ๐Ÿ˜ƒ". Oppressive chases take that away, since survivors can no longer make meaningful decisions during chase. A game can be boiled down to a series of situations where a player must make a choice. If the situations has very few choices or there is a clearly correct choice and most other choices are clearly wrong, the game becomes boring.

The best and easiest buff to killers is usually reverting their nerfs, and we're in luck because he has had one.

    @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

He needs his base-kit changes reverted, he didn't need them as he only had a 1v1 Power and was worthless in the 1v4, and now, he doesn't even have a 1v1 anymore

Let's not pretend that getting quick-scoped by a STBFL Slinger was even remotely fun or interactive for the survivor. Slinger was extremely oppressive in the 1v1 and functionally made all of the survivors' skill irrelevant. If he could see you, he could quickscope you and down you, and there really wasn't any meaningful counterplay other than "get out of range or break LOS." It's a video game, so being fun for both sides is king and balance is a secondary concern.

The tap ADS """mind game""" was also the dumbest thing ever. Just like how stand still Spirit """mind game""" was an extremely boring guessing game. Slinger deserves better than what he has right now, since he's more or less objectively worse than all other ranged killers without bringing anything unique to the table.

  • Just click leave game if it bothers you. Half the reason why I play this game is joking around with people in chat, taking that away pretty much makes it a glorified bot match.

  • BBQ is useful for encouraging the killer not to camp someone to death, and Iron Maiden is great for teaching your useless teammates not to hide in lockers.

    Why are we complaining, again?

  • I enjoy versing Huntress and Slinger. It's fun to get shot at lmao

  • My playstyle is competitive, but my attitude is casual. I'll be drippin' for the 4k, but in the end game chat I'm just like "LMAOOOOO"

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Why didn't your game crash in the loading screen after seeing the Map Offering?

Whoever ok'd RPD should be fired. Seriously. This map just doesn't work for Dead By Daylight. Imagine making a map for Halo and it's just a 2x2 box, or making a Mario map that is just a flat plane with no platforming. It's egregiously bad, and shameful design for anyone who takes pride in their work as a level designer.

I couldnt get any value from keys since the nerf.

1, Has to be the last survivor since Hatch only spawns if everyone else dead or left(at worst case means that you have like 10-20 sec to find it)

2, Hatch has to be closed by killer(since it spawns open so no need for key), and then you can search for the hatch use the key

The point of keys is Blood Amber. That's about it.

  • @jesterkind said:

The point of a chat censor has nothing to do with the age of the playerbase, it's to stop harassment and toxicity where possible. This game's chat censor is bad not because it exists, but because for some reason it was designed to censor more than just curse words, slurs, and common aggressive phrasing.

To be clear; the point of a chat censor in any game that isn't explicitly aimed at kids is the same, it's not to protect the delicate eyes of its players from any naughty words. It's to try and curtail just how viciously awful someone can be to another person over text.

(Also all chat censors in adult-aimed games should be optional, in my opinion.)

censors are pretty ineffective at stopping harassment, ect. I get lot of people telling me to "commit un-alive" because I beat them in a video game. It's not that big of a deal, but sometimes it can be a little disturbing if I'm really tired and can't think straight.
