Left For Dead.
A very nice Billy player let me have it. But unless you are in a SWF and coordinate for it with a specific build and well timed DC, it's nigh impossible.
-
If you have fun in more than one game out of ten, you are having a fantastic session.
-
As long as they aren't super annoying about it, I don't mind. Usually they throw the match for it anyways. If they have the challenge in their name or come to me as the last survivor I'll try and help them out.
-
Distortion - Lethal is a pretty popular perk right now and the first survivor that is found is the one that most often gets tunneled out, stay low.
Left Behind - You could bring Clairvoyance instead but I found it more reliable
Wake Up - If the hatch spawns underneath the killer
Tons of options for the last perk, Deliverance, Adrenaline, Unbreakable, exhaustion etc.
-
I understand and applaud that they want people to use less often picked perks, but Looking Out For Number One is the epitome of nuking a house that is already on fire.
-
Thank the fog for that. With the directional audio during her phasing at least there is some counterplay to her around pallets so she isn't just her old turn off your brain and easy 4k and as an extension she is less often picked. Also, she is still very likely to elicit a DC on her first down, so some players who actually want to play the game will pick someone more satisfying. Pulling off a tricky flick or predicting the survivors as a nurse feels far more rewarding than just instantly catching up with them.
-
I'm fairly confident that I'm actually getting more value out of it then before. Even more seasoned killers have a hard time resisting the urge to quickly stab you if you round the corner with your DH ready. Many also don't expect it at all, although the really good ones have no problem baiting/waiting it out. Both as a killer and a survivor I see it significantly more often than immediately after the nerf in my games.
-
SoloQ survivor is literally unplayable, you need to play 20-30 games to have a single decent match, it's beyond ridiculous. Killer was pretty fun for a while, except those ludicrous waiting times, but for the past couple of days every single team I went up against was a seal team six, efficient, well coordinated with no weak link everyone knowing how to loop proficiently. And those guys don't seem to go up against the 10k hour starstruck nurse, how curious.
-
It would be a huge improvement as far as the game's health is concerned. I wouldn't even mind if it became basekit and activated both times (still disabled after the last gen pops and even after you get fully healed by any means). It was almost perfect before the nerf and the absolute clown fiesta of the past few weeks have shown that the game desperately needs actually working countermeasures to tunneling.
-
I'm not 100% sure she should ever see pools of blood, but I would definitely take it over the current situation.
-
Power trip.
Now that killer is easy mode, any semblance of a challenge will elicit a short tempered reaction.
-
If I recall correctly, some of his addons are bugged, not allowing you to get the achievement. I just can't recall off the top of my head what the exact combo is.
-
Just watch the new anti camping perk get nerfed into oblivion because killers can't easy 4k anymore and actually have to follow their own advice and git gud.
-
Sounds like a SoloQ issue.
-
I mean, yeah? The dev team wanted more kills so they made killer baby mode. If you don't like it, don't play the game like I do, or give yourself handicaps.
-
I mean it has been broken since day one. SBMM has never worked, not even a single day. But if you are asking about the current problem of getting brand new teammates against non-beginner expert killers as a SoloQ player, then yeah, the skill discrepancy lately is even bigger. That's what you get when you alienate a big chunk of your playerbase and your completely useless matchmaking has to work with even less.
-
Killer mains will need to swallow their own pill and "stop relying on clutch techniques to get easy wins and get good instead" and it's absolutely glorious. I'll be here drinking their tears all day.
-
Probably Bubba. I always seem to have at least a decent game with him even if I don't 4k.
-
Play survivor (preferably with 3 other people and everyone brings 100%+ BP offerings).
Run Prove Thyself to max out objective category, We'll Make It to max out altruism category, Deliverance to have a little extra survival and if you aren't good at running the killer bring COH, booning gives quite a nice amount of Boldness.
-
Don't worry, in order to shorten killer ques, they'll just make matchmaking restrictions even more lax so you'll have even more useless teammates.
-
Nurse,Blight>SWF>Killer>Survivor
-
It's an outdated mechanic that has no place in the current balance of the game and as such, it won't be removed for at least 2 more years.
-
It can still give you kills that you don't deserve so yeah, they should have just removed the perk entirely. But nope, only survivors aren't allowed to rely on crutch perks.
-
Just killswitch the DC penalty. It's going to be a wild west sort of a situation for a while, but maybe people will start realizing that actions have consequences and we can have the playerbase be slightly less ######### towards one another, since we all depend on the others.
-
Emphasizing the competitive element of the game was a mistake in my opinion. As hard to define as "fun" can be, it really should have remained the aim. I've never played this little since I picked up the game.
-
Me 100%!
I loved the fact that I could just ready up as a survivor and have a roughly 50% chance of having fun, as opposed to needing to play 10-15 games to get one that was worth the time and effort. And with killer, as long as I remained purple rank, I could match up against people of similar skill instead of being fed to tryhard sweatlords that should get the omega blink Nurse tunneling my poor soloq teammate. Good times. Very good times.
-
Can someone link me where this was confirmed? I do know that one of the devs said that if you DC your MMR progress is void, but I've never seen an official post that declared a DC voids the MMR gain/loss for everyone in that trial.
-
I have 1.9k hours in the game, I play(ed) 60% surv and 40% killer. EU server.
As a survivor, I don't see a big increase in DCs, it's almost the same level as it usually is. There are a few more people giving up on hooks though, but I don't see the epidemic a lot of people on the forum seem to (as opposed to the tunneling fever that I personally can attest too as well, almost every game has it).
As killer, I have seen no change. However, I go out of my way not to tunnel/camp and I don't play Nurse/Blight/Spirit, so my experience may not be universal.
-
I think that after six years we've known this.
-
Unfortunately, this is the end result of buffing one side to be stronger than the other. Killer MMR is going up and survivor MMR is going down, leading to matches where you need to be significantly stronger than the opposing side to win, since the odds are stacked in their favor. The only thing you can do is find a SWF.
-
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Scott Jund put it best. It's still oppressive on the two killers that used it most often and completely useless for everyone else. Maybe less Nurses and Blights will run it, but Legion and Plague will still be a complete nightmare to go up against.
-
I'm genuinely surprised. Usually, long que times are really bad for business and they would be on that stuff ASAP. But it looks like they are happy to have longer and longer que times. I guess it's time to see what's discounted on Steam.
-
After six years, it's really hard to accept they can't. I just think they don't want to.
-
"Oh and if you want to play SoloQ, keep on getting ######"
Thanks devs, your players appreciate you taking a big dump on them.
-
Just wait it out.
-
So killer ques are almost PTB length because people really don't want to play survivor and they...nerf survivor. Absolutely genius.
-
Complete and utter disconnect.
-
Up until this patch I tried really hard to see things that way. But I just can't anymore. Killers are so insanely unreasonable that I can't put up with it anymore.
SoloQ needs a little loving, because it's miserable.
~No, every survivor is a toxic 4man SWF with 4 toolboxes who BM at every opportunity and now cry because we don't have dead hard.
Maybe at least Nurse's addons can be looked at?
~Nope, we are whiny survivor mains who are salty that without DH we can't bully killers.
Literally nothing gets through to their heads. Literally zero empathy. I'm done being nice.
-
Oh yeah. SoloQ is all about bullying Killers. Yeah, totally. Very wise insight!
-
It's insanely aggravating to watch people, who are good enough to handle the best of players, yet for some reason (MMR being bad, preferential matchmaking, deranking whatever) only go up against absolute potatoes, gaslight the people who don't have that luxury. No, we aren't throwing a tantrum. SoloQ is beyond miserable, because tunneling the first found survivor out is by far the strongest and easiest strategy, that 9 out of 10 killer will go for now. I don't want the killer buffs undone (STBFL stacks need to go back to the old max value with the new basekit stuff, Eruption and Thana needs a nerf but that's literally it), I don't want DS to be active in the endgame, or DH to revert back to the second most rewarding bad play perk. 5 second DS stun and OTR stack with BT. That's literally it. But no, we are just whining because they took away DH and we can't bully killers. Absolutely unbelievable.
-
Forget hardcore escape challenges, those are easy peasy.
Sole Survivor Exit Gate Escape Challenge.
-
You can't force people to play a game they don't want to. They'll AFK. They'll run at the killer. They'll sandbag. They'll locker spam. They'll keep exploding gens.
Fix.
The.
Underlying.
Unfun.
Aspects.
-
Pig is the cutest.
Ghostface is the most relatable.
-
Due to the Killer side of the game becoming easier since tunneling and camping are now easier and more rewarding than ever, more survivors who are decent, but not great, get bumped down to less experienced killers. That's why you are getting solid teams against weaker killers. It's the natural consequence of the nature of this patch and you can see lower MMR killers making threads that their games are actually even harder than before.
-
Technically, Blight's hugtech is also an unintended mechanic, so he should be killswitched...
-
"We have noticed that SoloQ and SWF have a roughly 15% difference between escape rate, so in the future, we will try and bring those ratios closer together"
Proceeds to nerf SoloQ.
"We have noticed that people bring perks to avoid unfun gameplay"
Proceed to nerf said perks, buff said gameplay and give "counters" that are worthless.
Pretty. Good. Job.
-
BT+We'll Make It+Prove Thyself+SB so that I at least get BP. 20k for a match over in 5 minutes isn't that horrible.
-
Oh great, another killer main tunnel visioning on dead hard.
-
I feel that dismissing the Nurse's ability of ignoring much of the core gameplay by citing those two addons is a little disingenuous. Yeah, if she can literally teleport one centimeter than windows and pallets are suddenly viable so what?
I do agree with him on the solution though. Nerfing the addons is the more likely possibility, but I would love her teleport ability to fill up so that she isn't oppressive all the time and you actually have counterplay against even a top tier player.

Tell me your MMR without telling me your MMR thread.
Demo.
