It's literally a lottery at this point. If you played with Devour Hope for a 100 matches, you would get about 3-4 occasions where you could mori at least one survivor. The overwhelming majority of cases would be either cleansed before 3 hooks or immediately afterwards. I personally don't use any Hex perks unless a tome challenge requires it.
-
None. There never has been and there never will be.
Anyone playing this game only does so because of Stockholm Syndrome. Or they main Nurse/Blight/SWF.
-
High MMR is choke full of subtle cheaters now that BHVR is putting in the effort to ban overt cheaters after the content creator fiasco. I didn't want to accuse random people of subtle hacking at first either, but it's so hilariously obvious when you are playing average survivors and then a hacker who seems to make juuuust a little too much distance after you hit them (no, no Dark Theory or other speed boosting perks/items, I checked after the game).
Also, MMR has always been wonky and I'm currently in the impossible to escape SoloQ and killsquad only Killer category. I wish BHVR didn't just randomly switch whatever variable they are messing around with every week or so. Last week was super chill even got the tome challenge for Wraith's perks on Blight without a single gen popping because I actually got potato survivors like content creators always do.
-
I just want to take this moment to reach out to all those lovely random soloQ teammates that I get besides the onslaught of locker hiding and urban evading Claudettes. Thank you. Even if you are only doing it for a tome challenge, I appreciate you running back on death hook to try and get me out of the basement. You folks rock.
-
As a Survivor, never. I'm sadly high enough MMR that the only killers I encounter have probably abused animals when they were little.
As a Killer if I'm in a good mood I let them do it. If there are two survivors left and they have given up, the first one to boop gets the hatch.
-
Once again, you can take a cough drop when you have pneumonia. But it's better to treat the cause and not the symptom. Make the game fun and people will be less inclined to DC.
-
Check if they are streaming or not.
If they are, they are going to T-bags and escape.
If they aren't, I'm going to 4k.
Not a 100% rule, but pretty accurate anyways. Still, it's a really nice change of pace when I encounter a wholesome TTV, I vividly remember rewatching a game from her view and appreciating the fact that she noticed I did everything to avoid tunneling even when the Claudette was flaunting her BT in my face.
-
Please calm down and understand that nobody is going to cut down a cm of your PP if you don't 4k every single match.
-
Holy moly!
To think that it only took the dev team 6 years to add five tiny little icons to the game!
Pretty good job so far!
Except of course, the problem with SoloQ has always been about skill. This is a step in the right direction, but as long as the current atrociously bad MMR system stays in place, there's not going to be any quality of life improvement for the average SoloQ enjoyer. No amount of information will prevent the 60 hour Meghead to go down in five seconds against the 10k hour Nurse main.
-
Ever since the devs gave SoloQ the coup de grace, it's been an essential perk. If we have three gens left and the only other survivor is second stage on hook, I'm taking my chances instead of unhooking and getting slugged so that some random killer doesn't feel bad about his PP size.
-
IW is fine it its current state, but every survivor's voice should be the same volume. I really don't understand why it was never obvious to the dev team.
-
"Man, I can't believe how entitled survivors are, wanting me, the killer to play a certain way that benefits them!"
"Man, I can believe how entitled survivors are, not wanting to play a certain way that benefits me!"
Killer mains.
-
LOL.
-
DS should be reverted and should activate twice during the match. OTR is a trash anti-tunneling perk that gives value when you aren't being tunneled but coordinate with your team to take hits for one another. Also, remove the skillcheck, there is no need for that.
-
I guess you could make that arguement in low MMR where stealth killers are disproportionately successful , but he is an F-tier trash killer when survivors know what they are doing, so I can't agree in general.
-
That particular behavior hasn't happened to me, but I've been teabagged and clicked on multiple times in quick succession. There is absolutely nothing anyone can tell me that makes me stop believing that some rudimentary script is adapting bot behavior based on live server survivor key inputs.
-
I actually love him. Don't care he is thrash and will lose if you don't play dirty, I enjoy his gameplay. I got bored of Mastermind pretty quickly, Knight is still keeping my interest.
-
Funnily enough, I've been seeing less and less auto DH as the weeks progress. Here's hoping the dev team stepped up their anti-cheat game if they won't ever fix DDOSing.
-
I wouldn't necessarily call Merciless Storm a terrible perk, but I've been running it for the past couple of days and absolutely love it! It can give me almost an entire gen's worth of time and if the team can breeze through it no other perk would give me an advantage over it anyways and at least I know I'm going up against competent players. People vastly overestimate how many players can actually hit those checks consistently.
Spies from the shadows can be surprisingly decent if the survivors go for stealth, but that isn't common enough to switch out something like Corrupt or NWO.
-
What doesn't? The fact that the game wasn't designed for constant communication between survivors and voice chat gives a ridiculously huge advantage to SWFs?
The fact that the overwhelming majority of maps have strong pallets that can be chained together and if you are playing someone without anti-loop you can lose the first three gens before you first down?
The fact that on top of these issues items and perks can win survivors games where they played poorly?
The only fun in this game is going up against a SoloQ team or a wannabe bully squad that can't actually loop or efficiently do gens.
-
Man I wish people stopped wanting every killer to be Nurse/Blight/Spirit tier.
-
Yeah, the Killer buff and the SBMM "adjustment" a couple of months ago rendered SoloQ utterly unplayable. "Survive and escape 1 match" Thank you daily, I can now play 25 games today to get 30k measly bloodpoints, woopie!
-
Bubba and Demo. Solid killers that don't have insane skill ceilings.
-
Quite a lot actually! It's very nice to just chill and not get genrushed in 4 minutes if I'm not packing 4 slowdown perks.
-
It never ceases to amaze how often I'm having a good time with MMR while everyone on the forum is asking if it's off and vice versa.
My games are complete toss-ups at the moment I have to say, as if players were assigned at random. One match I'm getting decimated by a kill squad with barely 4 hooks before they are all out, then I 12 hook the entire team with 3 gens left. It's like there are two MMR brackets: potato mixed with average players and gods.
SoloQ has been completely unplayable for months, I don't see any difference for better or worse.
-
Well deserved. In the past year the BHVR dev team has been figuratively telling a large portion of its playerbase (SoloQ is almost half according to older sources) to go and ######### off, play something else or switch to SWF or killer. They acknowledged the discrepancy between those two options (downplaying to only 15% by data manipulation because they cited the aggregate info and not mid/high level play) promised improvements and then went LOL NOPE!
For the past year dedicated servers have been leaking IP addresses, forcing people to use a VPN if they don't want to run the risk of DDOSing. Did they address fix this issue in the entirety of a year? Nope, they wasted their time on that stupid last man standing mechanic that nobody asked for and everybody hates and they had to shelf because the backlash was so strong.
They buffed Nurse, refused to gut Blight and Spirit addons, made Eruption broken, NOED is still a free kill (and potentially a win) and DH is almost as popular as ever.
They introduced beyond awful and broken maps and "reworked" RPD that is still just as much of a nightmare to play on as before.
SBMM is still completely incapable of putting people together who are anywhere close to one another in skill level feeding potatoes to 10k hour killers and throwing inexperienced killers against 4 men killsquads.
It fills me with a little comfort to see just a smidge of karma.
-
On a double recharge Nurse? Lol yeah.
On Trapper?
-
I know people absolutely love to meme on the devs for supposedly not understanding their own game...
...but they don't understand their own game.
-
Either the update broke something, or there is a sudden uptick in hackers. About 6-7 games out of 10 the killers are ridiculously fast, catching up between loops even if they break the pallet and have nothing that would make them quicker. Especially noticable when you switch to playing killer and watch how insanely slow your pace of catching up is.
-
Keep on clubbing those adorable baby seals and report back when you are going up against the killsquads.
-
Nope, still up. People are experiencing a lot of technical difficulties with the new update though, so not every single DC is a ragequit.
Pretty good job so far.
-
Step one: Take a deep breath.
Step two: Go outside.
Step three: Touch that fluffy green grass.
-
I stopped caring about maps honestly. If I got a bunch of potatoes they can't be carried even by Garden of Torment. And if its a killsquad I'm genrushed anyway and they have plenty of resources unless I'm on Shelter Woods or something.
-
Because that is exactly what the so called SBMM is designed for.
A desired average of 2 kills per match.
If you play ten matches where you can't sacrifice a single survivor and then ten matches where you massacred them, that's a perfect average 2 kills per match. The SBMM will pat itself on the back and go out drinking.
SBMM does not work. It never has and never will until the asinine kill/escape=skill concept is abandoned.
-
It's not straight up facecamping because most Killers are somewhat wary of Reassurance, but 9 out of 10 Killers will proxy and hover around until the unhook at which point its tunnel town baby! I'm starting to see DS more and more often funnily enough.
-
If I had magical powers I would take every single person parroting this sentiment incessantly and put them up against someone with 10.000 hours in something they have at best an hour of experience in. Just for fun. After all, time=/=skill you know.
+1 for nice survivors, always heartwarming to see.
-
It's free MMR reduction. If I hook everyone I consider it a victory. And if they throw, all the sweeter.
-
SoloQ survival rate is 6-8% depending on how good of a day it is, so I'm very much not inclined to throw myself on a hook after three or four hours of absolute misery. That said, if I sandbag someone, or they ran the killer for the entire five gens, I'll do my best to get them out even if I'm going back to the que.
"Wow you must suck, get good!"
Thank you for your invaluable input in a 1v1v1v1v1 game.
-
Make his power supernatural. He pulls out a nail from his body, plants it into the ground and it grows into a trap.
Fix trap hitboxes, survivors shouldn't be able to squeeze through the edges, you don't have enough time as a Killer to place traps with nanometer accuracy.
Fix maps.
-
It's honestly a fairly balanced mechanic at this point. The team needs to take a lot of health state loses to make it viable so even if you aren't hooking that one particular survivor you are carrying, you are grinding down the match to a crawl. Just make it a habit to look down every single time you are approaching a hook even if you don't think anyone is there.
-
The strongest possible combination in this game is 4 comp survivor on coms bringing 4 map offerings to ensure a strong homefield advantage, 4 busted medkits or toolboxes with 4 meta perks on each survivor, disregarding the so called tournament rules.
Then we have Nurse, Blight and to a lesser degree Spirit, who have ridiculously strong addons and coupled with the meta perks, they can wipe the floor with pretty much everything that's not a comp team and even then they can quite often carve their way to victory.
Then we have SWF, followed up by Killers and finally SoloQ. Whether you want to call any of this survivor or killer sided is up to you.
-
Look on the bright side! If you DC you are one step closer to a permanent ban!
Pretty.
Good.
Job.
So far.
-
1) Basekit Kindred without Killer aura reading
2) HUD icons that show you what your teammates are doing AND the perks/items they are running (this should also be shown in the lobby so you take off COH/PTS if three others are running it while letting you know who was Deli etc)
3) Rework the maps. Every. Single. One. M1 killers shouldn't be ran for five gens by pre-dopping 25 safe pallets.
4) Adjust Killers individually and remove busted addons.
Congratulations, you have a healthy and balanced game.
-
I wish him all the best and hope whoever replaces him has a different view on balancing.
-
Played with Otz, Ev3ntic and Lionnek when they weren't streaming (profiles were public, they had the hours and the skill so I'm sure it was them).
I was the only one to step in a trap the entire game, but ended up saving Nina by baiting the killer with my DS instead. I was NEVER more nervous to hit the check lol.
I also played against Hens more recently and he called me new because I was running away from Corrupt without even knowing :(
-
Spawn in. Nurse blinks. Teammate DCs. I get chased. I get downed. Nobody touched gens.
Please, just lets go next instead of forcing people to play a game they have no chance of winning.
-
A SoloQ survivor definitely doesn't have a 50% chance of dying in a trial lol.
-
Don't let people gaslight you. If you can 12 hook a lobby with no camping and tunneling with an M1 killer you went up against potatoes.

I can't even get 3 hooks 😂 I know I'm bad at killer against the current mmr, I don't need to be reminded and taunted every game. I've had 5 games today were I got 0 kills and have not noticed a difference in survivors.
I'd rather AFK then get a bully squad
Don't waste your time. There are certain safeguards in place to prevent sealclubbing (absolutely hilarious considering content creator preferential matchmaking but whatever) so once you reach X point with at least one killer, no other killers can be lower than whatever your best killer was, within a certain range. Basically, if you ever go over the soft cap with any killer, every single other one is brought up -200 or -300 IIRC.
If it's any consolation, yesterday and today were absolutely horrible, I don't know where all these looping god survivors are regularly, first time I got a 0k as a Nurse in an entire year.
-
lol, never.
That would reveal that the whole, SWFs are only marginally stronger than SoloQ is complete propaganda, manipulated data by meshing together low MMR survivors where SWF isn't that insanely strong. If you separated SWF vs SoloQ performance by MMR, it would reveal just how utterly broken the current system is.
