  • Hahaha

They might as well just make a killer always visible at default.

Overall I really like the upcoming changes. However my first 3 games have been huntress with iri head trying to use them up before the rightly needed change. It's going to be a painful week I think.

    Enjoy for now.

The wait time will get even longer once this update is applied.

You won't be able to play as many matches as you do now since there will be less killers.

They actually think it's a good idea to make a daylight map in this game.

Even dead dawg saloon was a least failure because the sun there could at least be partially explained by a sunrise or a sunset, so it's kinda stuck in between so it was close, but never actually started. Just like death for survivors.

Dear "Dead by DAYLIGHT" developers, would you mind answering a few questions?

SINCE WHEN ENTITY STOPPED BEING HURT BY LIGHT?

since when killers, who get literal burns from weak flashlights stopped being afraid of broad daylight?

WHY DID YOU FEEL LIKE IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA OF KILLING THE IRONY OF "DEAD BY DAYLIGHT" BY ADDING A MAP WHERE THERE IS DAYLIGHT?

CAN SURVIVORS JUST DIE PERMANENTLY WHENEVER THEY DIE ON THIS MAP?

CAN YOU JUST RENAME THIS GAME INTO SOMETHING LIKE "CIRCUS OF PAIN" ? IT WOULD BE WAY MORE LORE ACCURATE THAN WHAT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE NOW?

Delete the sun from this map.

    Make it dark.

Stop ruining the last pieces of consistency in an already ruined lore.

Or just say ######### it and start adding teletubbies as killers, it wouldn't do any worse at this point anyway.

    So true.

I hate this game is losing more and more of the horror-game aspect.

Daytime map definitely kills the spooky feeling.

    Such a shame.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/241230/option-to-opt-out-of-matching-with-players-with-ban-history

How would this work for console, with no Steam profiles to check? Such a thing is not shared on Xbox or by Microsoft, and they might be sued if it was due to the User End Agreement and the non-sharing stuff in it.

Well, cheating usually happens on PC, not much on console.

And I assume there is also a system to record ban history internally for console, since still people are being banned there.

But as PantlessMyers says, probably it's out of BHVR's jurisdiction to restrict people with the history outside the game.

I just thought it would reduce the chance to match with cheaters if I can filter out players with the history.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Pretty sure they get perma-banned when caught cheating in dbd so you're not going to run into them again, unless they re-buy the game, which is impossible to stop.

Or do you mean any cheating in any game at all? Because I don't think that's in BHVR's jurisdiction.

    Yeah, cheating in any game.

I'd like to avoid anyone who has a record on any game.

It being deactivated on self healing needs to be changed to be a full heal. If you've started healing you could yes argue you're not being tunneled but say you start healing and killer decides to come tunnel you now because they see you've been unhooked or see you started healing yourself. You get tunneled for free now and the perk fails you. This wouldn't be abusable either because you still can't do gens without losing it nor heal others.

I was happy with the DS nerf, but now after playing for a while on both sides, I can agree that it could remove the penalty from self-healing.

As a killer, you could even strategically let survivors to start heal themselves so you can tunnel.

As long as DS is deactivated by tapping gens or breaking totems, rescuing or other objectives, I feel self-healing should be allowed.

  • @DwightFairfield said:

obviously you got outplayed, it's not a "powerful" loop, it's a super-gamer-move and obviously you're just bad and the design of the map isn't stupid and horrible and unhealthy for the game

    Hahahaha

Have you even played in the map?

For survivors, it's a bonus map. Everyone can do a chase. Just drop a pallet on every corner and you're safe.

For killers, it's a pallet nightmare. Literally evey block, both upstairs and downstairs have pallets. The game is over by the time you finish breaking those pallets.

  • First things first, gen kicks and gen regression, gen tapping definitely need to be updated.

Without Ruin or the Weasel, it's impossible to protect gens, because gen kicks are too weak and can be easily disabled by gen tapping.

  • Because it's stressful.

SWF with voice comm, insanely fast gen speed, god pallets, garbage maps like Lampkin Lane, constat consumption of very rare add-ons to win, weak killers like Trickstar etc...

Seriously, devs need to do something to make killers fun to play, and more rewarding for challenges they got.

Otherwise this will just get worse and worse.

Less killers, more wait time, more imbalanced matches.

  • Brown trees in Yamaoka Estate are also abysmal.

  • If you mean to give more BP for killers during the busy time, then yes.

More people need to play killers to reduce the wait time.

  • No, NOED is just fine as it is.

All hex perks rely on luck, and that's how hex perks should be.

Just because you can't find the totem, that doesn't mean the hex perk mechanism needs to be changed.

No scratch marks for the 3 seconds killer is stunned would be acceptable. Part of the problem(always has been). Is even if the killer tunnels you. They can just be right on you again. Even after eating the DS

    This is an interesting idea.

I'm all in for the DS nerf in 4.6.0, but adding an extra functionality such as 3 seconds for no scratch marks seems to fit the concept of DS.

Recently some of my friends have been playing blight and I thought that I would give him a shot myself. After playing playing him a lot I have come to learn that Blight is one of the most fun killers in the game. This brings us to the topic of J-Flicks. J-Flicks are something you can exclusively do on pc by turning very fast at the end of a rush (made easier by using a high dpi). J-Flicks allow blight to flick up to 180 degrees (people have found ways to do more but that's unpractical). J-Flicks create new ways to play blight. It turns him into some strange combination of oni and billy. And it's some of the most fun I've had playing dbd in a long time.

Many people are making the argument that since J-Flicks are unintended they should be removed, but if you think about it many great things have come from unintended game mechanics. A great example of this is b-hopping in csgo where entire communities revolve around it. Another is minecraft with it's bug pistons. My point here is that just because it's intended doesn't mean it should be removed.

A second argument people make against it is that it's OP or that it somehow is bad for gameplay. This one is simply not true. As a survivor main with over 1k hours I have to say playing against a good blight who can J-Flick is so incredibly fun. It adds fun mind-games and is like playing against a baby version of Oni's ability. It isn't even close to being bad for the game. Don't get me wrong blight would be a pretty balanced killer without J-Flicks but he would have an incredibly hard time playing against good players.

The final and possibly only good argument is that it's not fair because only PC players can do it. I honestly can't really make a strong argument against this. I've exclusively played DBD on PC so I'm going to be a bit biased when coming to this argument. In the end dead by daylight is a casual game and the only people who are out here taking the time to learn how to learn how to J-Flick are the "sweaty" players. FPS games with cross play have had this problem forever, A good PC player will always be able to out aim a good console player. (I'm not saying PC players are better than console, just that they naturally have an advantage).

If you take anything away from this argument please let it be that J-Flicks don't take anything away from gameplay, they only add good things to it. If you really took the time to read this all I appreciate it.

tl;dr Keep J-Flicks or I main stridor spirit for the rest of time.

    Agreed.

Unintentional doesn't mean it should be removed.

The line should be determined by how malicious it is to the game.

J-Flick is not giving Blight an instance ability to massacre everyone, it's just a tech which can be useful or useless depending on user's skill.

  • This post still needs more attention.

  • Totally agreed.

Devs need to give more incentives for people to play killers more.

Not only that, BP consumption on killers is way higher than survivors.

Killers need to unlock tons of perks in order to be decent, and need to consume add-ons for every game.

  • @jeremycarinio said:

to the mods, look at this discussion on how the Decisive Strike is NOW useless. this is how Survivors use the perks, and how Killers strategize their plan to kill.

If Decisive Strike is now considered as an "ANTI-TUNNELING PERK", i highly suggest to mods to buff it by : REMOVING THE TIMER of the perk. Since it is then deactivated by doing an objective, by removing the timer will give a good buff since it is now considered ANTI-TUNNELING PERK.

DS is an anti-tunneling perk, that doesn't mean it should give you a full immunity.

DS just gives killers a disincentive not to chase after the one just got unhooked.

Still, killers should have an opinion to tunnel tactically regardless of the disincentive.

  • I cannot wait to see devs nerf killers from left to right.

Let's make DBD the best campfire game.

  • @DawnMad said:

Nerfing SWF would just discourage people from playing together, and buffing killer just destroys the already awful Solo Queue experience. What should be done is that survivor information should be buffed to close the gap between Solo and SWF and with that we can then safely buff all killers.

    I don't think so.

People do SWF because it's fun to play with friends, not because they get the benefit from voice comm or whatnot.

It's fair to add some disadvantages to compensate the advantages SWF gets such as voice comm, the prior knowledge to what perks your friends have, skill levels.

Matching survivors' information with SWF means all survivors will have Bond and Kindred as default, share the information what perks you have and ranks before the match.

    This will completely destroy DBD.

no because i don’t use ds, i haven’t for months. Killers would still respect it as if i did though so generally they wouldn’t tunnel but now killers don’t fear it so they just tunnel like there’s no tomorrow.

    Just bring DS lol

lmfao lets act as if Killers don't have perks that slow down gens

Just play killers and face rank 1 survivors LMAO

Any killers who play at the red rank know how fast gens are.

Even at the purple or lower.

Now the undying is nerfed, god help us there is literally no time to chase one by one.

"It is how it is" is a lazy argument made by people who don't understand how a discussion works.

I never mentioned against saving anything. Maybe read again.

Because there's nothing to argue here lol

Tunneling has a countermeasure and you're still whining about it.

Sure, sometimes killers keep tunneling regardless of DS, but they are also sacrificing something for that.

Maybe other members could have escaped because you were being tunneled.

Dbd isn't made for you to "always win easily."

  • Bring DS, problem solved.

Seriously though, if you want to nerf tunneling, gen speed nerf or gen kicks buff are necessary to balance out.

Killers tunnel because they have to.

  • This is the funniest thing I've ever seen in a while.

    Thanks for making my day.

  • Of course you'll be tunneled if you have already used DS.

Unlucky for you, but that's just how it is.

  • Because killers have to.

At the current state of the game, because the gen speed is so fast killers have no time to chase and hook every survivor one by one.

If you don't like to be tunneled, bring DS. Or suggest to nerf gen speed or buff gen kicks to give more incentive for killers to spend more time than tunneling.

As long as the gen speed stays the same, there is nothing can be done for tunneling.

  • Don't like tunneling? Bring DS.

Don't like camping? Bring BT or Kindred and do gens as much as you can.

Both tunneling and camping have down sides.

You won't win by simply doing tunneling/camping without thinking.

If there is some nerf added to camping/tunneling, gen speed or gen mechanics need to be heavily adjusted to compensate.

Like gens regress automatically without Hex ruin or something.

  • Bring DS or OoO.

    Problem solved.

  • Lmao

Just bring DS and everything is fine.

    DS is being exploited?

It was SURVIVORS who were exploiting the immunity of DS.

DS is only meant to prevent hard tunneling, not to get back to the gen right after the hook.

  • @Claudette_Baguette said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2065325#Comment_2065325

You think? I think it's fine, it doesn't always work and is just a neat trick you can try to go for. It feels great when it works and even as a survivor I can respect a good J flick.

    Agreed.

I'd rather lose for good player skills than boring hard tunneling and camping.

When I see a good Blight user, I don't care if we all die with the flick or whatnot. It's just so much fun to panic and run as much as I can.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2064697#Comment_2064697

Um that's literally all you need to do, you increase your DPI and fling your mouse while attacking. There's nothing else to it.

Sounds like you never tried it then lol

  • It's more like nerf SWF.

There is nothing wrong with playing with your friends or doing solo.

It's just SWF's voice comm is the one breaking the balance for solo ques and killers.

  • Then why don't you try it? LMAO

Not to mention he is a tough killer to control, J flick is not something you can just do by simply increasing the dpi.

If you don't like it, just stick with consoles and turn off cross-play.

  • Ormond is insane.

Blight just stays stationary even though he is running when you try to collide with those damn low tables.

  • Totally agreed.

DS should be just to counter hard tunneling.

It's just unfair to exploit the immunity and do gens right after unhooking.

  • I would say jusy buff the gen kick.

Like 5% immediate damage and more regression.

In the current state, there is not much incentive to kick gens.

  • As someone says, gen tapping shouldn't even stop regression.

I even think there should be delay, like 3 seconds of fixing the gen can only stop regression.

This DS nerf is just fine.

  • What I don't like about the executioner is essentially he promotes tunneling.

I don't mind him getting some buff while losing some tunneling ability.

It's understandable that the executioner tends to do tunneling because that's the most effective way.

I even do tunneling when I play him.

But it's so boring for survivors when the killer is tunneling so hard.

  • It's an invisible hatch.

See the video on this thread from someone who had the same experience.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/m11am0/demonstration_of_blights_hatch_glitch/

Apparently the generated hatch has collision only against Blight's attack, even when it's not visible yet.

  • This argument seems to be fair considering Huntress has a delay.

Also in real life, nobody can shoot straight without aiming down sight well.

It could be like, the longer you ADS, the more accuracy you get.

In other words, quick shots should have bad accuracy.

  • Why don't you guys take a poll with various versions?

  • BRING BACK THE OLD UI.

    PROBLEM SOLVED.

  • Bring back the old HUD.

There was no need to update.

We don't need to see more info, as it breaks the balance.

  • I don't even see the point of updating the UI.

    IT WAS PERFECT.

Why do you even need to see mode info?

    How many hooks? Which character?

It was ok to leave it ambiguous so players have room to use their brains.

DBD just looks so cheesy now.

  • I don't agree he should be removed, but he needs some tweak for sure.

Freddy is too easy to use, yet he has too many useful abilities and add-ons.

His abilities need to be tweaked to require player skills more like Nurse or Spirit.

But at the same time, Killers generally need some buff.

At least gen speed could be nerfed so 3 generators don't light up at the same time right after the match.

  • Not all.

SWF with voice comms, overpowered killers like Freddy, underpowered killers like Wraith or Clown, trapper, broken maps like Lumpkin Lane, broken dead hard, way too fast generator speed, carry-on keys.

Yeah, so many things to do for the devs.

  • Overpowered.

Teleporting, traps, dreaming mechanics, great add-ons.

Too easy-to-use with too many useful abilities.

  • 100%.

Devs are seriously out of their mind for focusing on improving "fancy" visuals while ignoring all the bugs and technical frustrations.

No penalties for SWF, insane lags, bugs which never fixed.

It really shows where devs' motivations are at.

They don't care customers but only care how their game look, because they think if the game looks cool then it could attract more players.

Seriously devs, if you ignore improving user experience, what will come is only doom.

  • It's absolutely broken.

I haven't seen when I actually sucessfully cancel killer's attack for ages.

It's just now a short dash perk.

    Seriously devs, do something.

1 2 3
