  • No way.

Blight's power changes depending on the choice of maps. While some maps such as Macmillan Estate would maximize Blight's potential, maps like Larry's would give Blight a hard time. Maps like Autohaven Wreckers is also debatable as Blight's power is pretty useless against short pallet loops such as cars, unlike Spirit or Deathslinger who can ignore those loops.

He is definitely a strong killer, but Nurse is consistently stronger as loops are basically useless against her.

You'll know his weakness once you get used to using him.

  • I can't believe there are still survivors who are complaining.

Look at the recent update, open-handed+kindred nearly lets you do WH, BT works regardless of the terror radius, Obsession occurs without any Obsession perks. DS still works as an anti-tunneling perk as it should be.

    What do you need more?

  • Because nobody or very few people want to play killers?

  • I'd suggest to quit.

I'm not trolling, there is no obligation for you to play killers.

You play games to have fun, not to get stressed. If you don't enjoy it, just leave and look around other games.

  • I'd say this update is a nail in the coffin for my motivation against this game.

BT works regardless the terror radius? Obsession is applied without any Obsession perks needed? Freaking 32m kindred with open handed?

It's just making this game more boring and less required to think than ever.

  • I would genuinely suggest you to stop playing killers like myself.

If you don't enjoy it, just quit and go somewhere else.

I don't play anymore because killers are too stressful, survivors are too easy, and the future of this game doesn't seem to fit my style.

  • Another "fix camping" post here lmao

  • Here we go again.

  • I cannot wait for the devs to remove it and nerf Blight to the ground.

Then I will have no regret to leave DBD.

People like Brokenbones will definitely make DBD a nice campfire game.

I played with an actual, previously existing friend in this game for one day. Roughly five hours. We chatted through Discord. Most of our commentary was chatting to each other about what we like and dislike about the game, him telling me (as it was my very first play) how the game works, general gameplay mechanics, etc. Beyond that it mostly reacting to each other's heated exclamations, laughing and describing things that just happened, discussing what we thought about various maps as we got them, etc.

While this is obviously a little different than the "normal" SWF experience, I can speak for the two of us that this would be our regular candor. I've seen the Leroy Jenkins video like anyone else and all I can say is that when I play games with my friends we don't coordinate like we're in an actual war. We goof each other and have fun.

But that doesn't deny the fact there are SWFs who utilize full potential of voice comms.

The point is, using voice comms gives you advantages more or less in some degree.

Some SWFs exploit the full power of voice comms like an army, some SWFs like you and your friends just use voice comms casually without caring winning too much.

But even with the casual way of using it, it's still more beneficial than not using them at all.

Like, when your friend gets excited and shouts while being chased, that's already an information which solo ques don't have.

The amount of advantage you get from voice comms varies, but as long as there are advantages in them, there will be people complaining how voice comms are unfair, because they are actually in a certain degree.

  • It doesn't need to be that extreme, they could simply add debuff on gen speed or healing efficiency for people in SWF.

So the way you play is exactly the same, just the efficiency gets nerfed.

This isn't a punishment, just a compensation for advantages SWFs get.

If this is not the way then, they have to add in-game voice comms, so solo ques can also utilize them with randoms.

  • Maybe you're fine with SWFs, and maybe you're right that there are not many sweaty SWFs and most of SWFs are casual players, but that doesn't mean SWFs with voice comms have more advantages than solo ques.

As long as the gap exist between solo ques and SWFs, balancing this game is a nightmare.

Buffing killers based on SWFs makes solo ques even harder, buffing solo ques based on SWFs makes killers even harder.

People who complain about SWFs are not demanding an easy game, just demanding a fair playing field.

The gap between solo ques with 2 simple emotes vs SWFs with full communication over voice comms is way too large to bundle together.

  • What about voice comms?

DBD doesn't have in-game voice comms, shouldn't it be prohibited because SWFs are taking advantage of external tools?

There's a 0.88% chance of this happening. You're going to need a lot more data before you call this a bug.

So I ended up to investigate further and concluded this is definitely bugged.

    You can check my ticket.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/244629/rarity-of-chest-is-bugged#latest

10 keys out of 30 chests without Plunderer. Keys are supposed to have only 7%, but in my test 1/3 of the items were keys.

  • There is a counter and you know it.

    Do gens.

Yes, it's annoying and unlucky for the guy who is being face camped, but you can't deny the fact that maybe that was Bubba's strategy to win, like camping one guy to death before 3 gens done then kill others later or something. Or simply he liked that way or he was not confident enough to chase by foot.

Either way, doing gens is a valid counter and as long as the counter exists, nothing should change.

  • Probably devs trying to encourage people to play killers more?

  • @7AJFUN said:

@BangBang why I should not be complaining about this lame gameplay in rank 1? Like the game is changing by reaching red ranks or what? KEKW

About he camping being a strategy, can you please read my discussion one more time? You know what, i will be a nice guy and let me just grab the part which you completely took, changed and used it against me:

"I know, that you are considering facecamping as a strategy"

Now tell me, are you sure that I am considering camping like a strategy?

Just please for a future, try to read a discussion before you will post any comment. It may help you in your life a lot of times :)

Hahaha, sorry because I just couldn't care less your opinion about camping.

Camping is a strategy, not a bad play. And it's not unhealthy for camping to exist in the game.

Camping varies killers tactics and which makes the game more interesting. If everyone can just unhook without any risks and the game becomes stale.

Also, camping doesn't always reward killers, you may be able to kill one survivor but others could escape, so it's totally balanced and healthy. Not something breaking the balance of the game.

I'm pretty sure rank 1 killer like yourself should already know this well?

Why do I think it would be healtier for a game? I pretty much explained the reason. I don't see any reason why we should keep rewarding the killers which are playing this way, just because they are bad in the game. As a killer I dont see this like an disadvantage, I really dont. I was never in situation when I would be standing in front of the hook waiting for my grab. Why? Because I just dont like to play that way, that I will end up facecamping the survivor. Everybody is just complaining about how the killers are weak, but in reality i 4k while not playing like a scumbag in 9/10 games in rank 1. Just stop.

You play killers at rank 1 and still complaining about face camp? Lol

You said yourself that camping is a strategy.

Without grabbing, killers won't be able to camp.

Unhooking is supposed to be a risky act for survivors, not something that they can do without risk.

  • Why do you think it's healthier to give more disadvantages to killers?

Without grabbing, basically killers without 1 shot kill have no way to camp.

Survivors are free to do trades any time and that's just too helpless for killers.

Even with grabbing exists, if you go with 2 people you can still save them by blocking killers.

  • @Harold_Shipman said:

So everybody who bought the game to play with friends should just be ######### out of luck and have the main reason they bought the game taken away from them?

That would be like turning around to everybody who plays killer and saying "sorry guys, you cant play killer anymore because we're removing killers and replacing them with bots at the request of survivors"

If that's what SWFs want, so be it.

Killers are also players. This game needs killers yet devs and SWFs don't understand how painful and stressful to go up against SWFs as a killer.

You can't make people to play against you when they don't want to.

If you want to enjoy as a survivor, you also have to respect killers to enjoy their own games.

  • 1. Stay away from the basement

    2. Don't go resucue

    3. Use Kindred

  • Yeah, let's make this survivors vs survivors battle royale game.

  • @Mooks said:

there are SWF that play without those „unfair advantages“ (I think you are talking about any form of voice comms). And not all SWFs with voice comms play optimally or „bully“ the killer.

also SoloQs could easily use voice comms, just by exchanging discord info in pre-game lobby.

That doesn't negate the fact there are a lot of SWFs which utilize voice comms and gain advantages.

Also since the game itself doesn't offer in-game voice comms or text base chatting system mid game, "solo ques can use voice comms" is too weak excuse.

You can say it's fair if there is an in-game voice comms and solo ques can just communicate with other players during the match, but the reality is not.

  • Never thought about it, but yeah, maybe it is boring.

It could be more interesting if survivors had to collect items all over the map to fix gens?

Like finding wrenches, bolts, gas etc?

  • I would say voice comms are way unfairer than cross play.

For cross play, at least you have an option to turn off.

For voice comms, killers don't have a choice to avoid SWF with voice comms and solo ques can't use them.

So no, if you bring up the fairness of DBD, there are unfairer things in DBD which should be more prioritized than cross play.

Not only that, in DBD, killers and survivors are already in an unfair situation.

So the advantage or disadvantage you get from the difference of player environment is marginal.

So it’s a 1 in 4 game odds of a key that’s not a bug that seems more a preset code of amount

    I don't think so.

I'm not counting the green broken one, all keys I got from chests were purple and rainbow.

Rest of the items were mostly purple and green as well, I only got 1 or 2 brown and yellow ones.

  • I tested yesterday in custom game.

20 chests opened, 5 keys found without plunderer.

    Completely bugged.

  • I play both at red rank and I don't think she needs a nerf.

It's actually fun to go up against her as a survivor, at least it's way more enjoyable than Deathslinger or hard camping Freddy.

Probably the only problem would be stridor.

  • @Seanzu said:

You know the majority of people don't actually struggle against SWF. The ones that do just seem to congregate on this forum and create a huge echo chamber, I would suggest putting more hours into killer, it's not that hard.

What you're saying is "just be good", but this doesn't negate the fact a lot of SWF teams use voice comms, and voice comms brings advantages which solo ques can't have, which is definitely "unfair" situation for both solo ques and killers.

SWF isn't a problem, but the advantage voice comms brings is.

  • I know. I've been saying this as well.

The fact survivors can just tap gens in the middle of chase to stop regression is pretty stupid.

I also do tapping gens when I play survivors, and still I think it shouldn’t exist.

  • @Mugombo said:

Have any devs or anyone actually confirmed that there’s a bug or change to chests?

Or is it just killers over exaggerating things?

I haven't seen any posts so I'm not sure.

But this is definitely happening as I'm seeing purple and rainbow keys way more often than it used be without plunderer.

  • Is there a bug report about it?

If not, I'm going to test in custom match.

This is definitely a thing and needs to be fixed ASAP.

Nah Spirit is so op. She has only one who doesnt have counterplay. Even Nurse has that but Spirit has not. So she needs nerf and i am sure she will nerf soon. Devs nerfed Twins and we both know Twins max B-tier. If Twins got nerf, how Spirit has chance to escape from nerf lol

Seriously, have you even played Spirit?

You're just saying OP because you don't know how to counter her.

Yes she is strong, but there are so many good red rank survivors who can dodge her for more than 1 minute.

Which is damn enough to do 1 or 2 gens.

Most killers are underpowered considering how fast gens are now. Twins nerf is understandable because they are stronger than Spirit against solo ques.

Bugs are different, and should obviously be fixed. But that doesn't change that in the games normal non-bugged state, that at the highest level, it is survivor sided.

    100% agreed.

Bugs should be fixed. That doesn't change the fact the game is favoring survivors more.

  • @AVoiceOfReason said:

We really need to bump it up to a faster pace than what it might be currently. Spirit is the most braindead easy killer in this game.

Not until the gen speed, gen kicks, gen tapping are addressed.

Spirit is strong, but not OP considering how fast the gen speed is now.

  • All of Coldwind Farm maps are way too big.

I think Coal Tower is such a balanced map.

Medium size, enough amount of jungles and pallet loops, the unique building is strong but not so OP.

Cambells Chapel is fine except some rubble objects are annoying.

Play survivor until you can understand the survivor mindset. You won't need extensive cues if you can predict their locations.

    Did you even read?

    Every killer plays survivors lol

Stop talking like there are killer mains which don't have survivor mindset. The point of discussion is how to prevent survivors from neglecting the game. Playing survivors is already a common sense which you don't even need to mention, because there is no such thing as "killer main".

If survivors don't do objectives and decide to hide somewhere, it's pretty impossible to find or takes so much time to find, which is a waste of time and that's what the OP is saying.

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

That's not really holding a game hostage, it's just them playing so that they can have the highest chance of escaping (which is usually stealth).

Try playing survivor; you'll pick up the survivor mindset, and with that invaluable asset you can predict the location of a survivor with frightening ease.

    "Try playing survivor"

Pretty much every killer plays survivor. Nobody plays only killers.

Even you have the survivor mindset, once survivors decide to hide in a locker without leaving any clues, it's pretty impossible to find, unless you keep opening every locker one by one.

  • @DoctorDarling said:

I'm assuming everyone in here saying to add in-game voice chat does not play console. You can't find people and send personal messages on steam, right? Well you sure can on console. I'll let you use your imagination on how people treat each other on this game. 9/10 killer mains have their messages turned off. In-game chat would be beyond horrible.

Voice chat is not missing from the game because it's cheating. This game is very upsetting and frustrating, hard to balance (hell, it's inherently asymmetrical and people want perfect balance, its amusing), and really cultivates a verbally aggressive whiny toxic player base because of it. I've never played a game where everyone complains so much about anything and everything, blames everything and everyone else for any issues.

There is no such thing as "killer main".

Pretty much every killer plays survivor as well.

In-game voice comms or texting during the match need to be implemented to close the gap between solo ques and SWF.

If not, SWF just needs some nerf to balance out.

  • Anyone who is ok with the current gen speed, gen tapping, gen kicks are obviously not in the red rank on both survivor and killer.

If you play both at the red rank, you can tell it's so much easier and relaxed to play survivors than killers.

Pallets are everywhere, SWF with voice comms, hex totems get destroyed in a minute, large maps such as Ormond or Rotten Fields...

There is a reason why more and more killers do camping and tunneling nowadays, it's because the gen speed is freaking fast.

Maybe killers are more dominant at the purple or lower, but once both survivors and killers reach a certain point, survivors are way more dominant.

  • Time limit sounds a good idea.

15 min and all survivors get instant kill.

  • @KateMain86 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2119906#Comment_2119906

Not all SWF are sweaty try hards. As for the OP suggestion, I think SWF should be encouraged more often instead.

Then they have to add in-game voice comms and make texting available during the game, so even solo ques can use them.

Basically SWFs are utilizing something doesn't exist in the game, which is cheating.

If devs added in-game voice comms, no one would complain because it'll indicate that's intentionally designed.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

Because it would only waste a lot of time for that survivor. That's 1/3 of the timer already gone, and while that means little to nothing if the exit gates are on the opposite ends of the map, if they're extremely close by then every second counts.

If you want a consistent perk for exit gates in 1 v 1 situations, just go with whispers. They'll have no chance of escaping unless you screw up.

    Well, I don't think it's a waste of time.

Imagine if you're the Trapper and haven't placed traps under gate switches, No Way Out could let you buy some time to set them up even if gates are spread apart.

  • Agreed.

They have to do something about it such as the same amout of time killers spent on kicking gens or more is required to stop regression.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

Comms are intended. Consoles have comms built into them with a simple friend system that makes it easy to party chat. On PS4, players would call me in the lobbies before a match.

On PC, Dead by Daylight has an official discord channel where players can make an unlimited number of rooms dedicated to SWFing with strangers.

I would let go of this line of thinking.

Then they have to make an in-game voice comm system, or at least make the text base chatting available during the match.

If voice comms are intended for DBD, then all these tools should be more accessible and endorced to be used.

Apex Legends, Destiny, all these games designed to be played as a team have an in-game voice comm system and text base chatting system.

You can't say voice comms are intended when solo ques can't use them.

  • It's nothing wrong with SWF, it's just BHVR is not balancing out.

They should decide whether this game is meant to be played with friends with voice comms or not.

If it is, they should add an in-game voice comm system so random survivors can also use voice comms, and make texting available during the match, like other games such as Apex Legends.

If it's not, they should simply add some disadvantages onto SWF such as slow gen speed or less effective perks etc.

People who use SWF aren't the ones to be blamed, it's the devs who are not clear about the concept of this game.

  • I thought this was intentional.

Since undying protects only once now, reducing the amount of fire is a nice touch.

    I mean, it's a hex totem...

If the totem is way too obvious and gets broken in a minute right after the start, nobody would use it.

  • Keys are everywhere now.
