Balanced Landing could be used to turn some loops into infinites, which is something we want to avoid. Typically you wouldn't use the stagger reduction from Balanced Landing more than once in a chase unless you were taking advantage of one of those loops.
As for Decisive Strike, if you have to wait a full 60 seconds, that's because you're tunneling someone immediately off the hook. The perk is designed to prevent that, so of course it's going to be very punishing. If you had chased someone else and returned, their timer will be almost up and you'll be able to wait it out in under 10 seconds. It's fairly easy to avoid.
Borrowed Time, I'll let y'all debate that all you want. Again, it can be mostly avoided by not going for the same guy and instead hitting the unhooker. If you hit them before they get the unhook, you can hit them again right after they finish the unhook and you'll still have someone on the hook in the end.
So you're saying nerfing BL is the right way to fix infinite loops? Why not just fix the maps? Can you tell us which maps had infinite loops? Maybe if you could give us a number of how many maps were effected by the BL infinite loops people might understand more.

Why does console still have no dedicated servers btw? its more needed on console then other platforms because of the many wifi connections.
can we expect them before 2021? you guys even don't mention it if we don't ask. thats kinda sad.
I seriously wish we had them, I could care less about the whole "dedicated hits" or whatever PC players are saying because waiting in a lobby as survivor for a good 10 minutes to get a terrible ping is just annoying.

They'll never do that
They don't want people hacking the game and get like 100million points for example. That's what their reasoning was a few years ago and why it would likely never happen
What stops them from hacking to 1 million each time they use blood points?
-
They should honestly just be unlocked if you pay for the DLC, it's already hard enough having every perk unlocked trying to grind to get them all in every survivor/killer bloodweb.
-
I'd rather run Inner Strength, much easier to find a totem to cleanse than trying to heal another survivor. Plus Inner Strength gives you the option to heal when you want, while Second Wind can only be activated after getting unhooked, if you're lucky to have already healed another survivor that is. Maybe changing the condition for Second Wind to activate by doing a safe unhook or if you do a gen then after being unhooked it activates.
-
Anyone know if streetwise still works? I got a medkit challenge to heal others. lol

Again, to reiterate:
- People focus on the big changes, like the new content. For example, very few people tried the Legion changes during the PTB.
- It's not a controlled environment. You're playing against a new killer, you can't tell if Kindred is OP or if the killer is weak.
- Rank is not used for matchmaking on the PTB. You might be paired with great survivors against a new killer, or you might get bad teammates against a great killer. You really can't get a true feel for balance on a PTB.
If you want a realistic scenario, I would strongly suggest trying it on live. I'm sure you could get together a couple people from the forums to try it out.
Then what's the point of testing anything in the PTB if it's not a realistic scenario? How are you able to actually test anything?

that's a console thing not a killer thing bud
It's both. They should make every killer console friendly, something they should've learned after releasing Nurse.

that's the point... to show off something you earned instead of just bought. to show that you put the hours into a timed grind instead of a minute in the in game shop.
You do realize with this Halloween event people are putting in hours to grind for items while others just buy them in store. So your defense about not putting them in the store now kinda makes no sense.

Yeah I didn't want to say anything, but...
To be fair they're not saying the killer is bad, they're saying what's bad is trying to use him on console with controller and bad frames.
-
When are they gonna learn sometimes console and PC killers should be balanced differently?
-
Honestly, I don't play killer and have the survivor items but it annoys me because the only reason they're "exclusive" is because at the time they didn't add event items in the store like they do now. They don't care now if you "grind" or not so it's just a lame excuse in my opinion.
-

If the originals were given something for getting it then or it was different hence the word "EXCLUSIVE".
Scroll up and read what someone said. Items were never said to be exclusive, and I'm currently looking at my Kate top and David jacket and no where does it say exclusive.
-
@xRem said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/109401/event-cosmetics
No
You do not get to simply get what others have worked for, to call people entitled to expecting an event cosmetic that was said to be EXCLUSIVE and that they had the game and grinded for the cosmetics at the time.
Whether or not its work isn't the question, the met the requirements/did something extra that you did not, you are not "entitled" for thinking that something you worked/grinded for and was said to be EXCLUSIVE is just that exclusive.
So if people had to work to get these items you're saying you would have no problem with them releasing them again in a future event. Correct?
-
@ElementDoom said:
What do you have against periods?
Many women find them uncomfortable.
-
All event cosmetics now can be "earned" by grinding the event or you can buy them with cells to skip the event. So why don't they just put these in the store to buy? What makes these event items so special?

Literally every company on planet earth retracts statements after backlash, you'll be fine.
You could've just said that to begin with.

@Seanzu said:

There's a difference between saying
"We're going to do this"
and
"We promise we're going to do this"
Apparently the DBD community hasn't figured this out, they don't owe you the cosmetics.
Either way though it's technically going back on their word. If they said "We're gonna do this" and then don't it's still the same thing. lol
-
I mean they should at least put them in the store to buy since all event cosmetics can be bought now. I mean some people have been unlocking the Halloween cosmetics by grinding hours while others just took a few seconds to get them in the store. It absolutely makes zero sense as to why these items cannot be obtained anymore with how BHVR runs their cosmetic store. If they want to put event cosmetics in the store they all should be in the store, there should be no special exceptions.

Is Billy hard on consoles too? I would've thought Oni would be similar to Billy when using his power but I don't know if Billy is hard to control on consoles either.

So I’ll continue to wiggle my arms while on hook of Hillbilly or Leatherface decide to camp. Is Wraiths cloak immune too?
Yeah, I do believe all stealth killers are like tier 1 Myers, crouching Pig and Ghostface (etc)
-
@AvisDeene said:
Does it work against insidious?
It doesn't show killers aura with insidious after this update.
-
Out of all rhe new free cosmetics released I was checking them all out and King's was my favorite but I guess we weren't supposed to get it. :/
-
Yeah, it got released.... least on PS4.
-
So none of these are gonna be released in patch? I'm confused then because I see Untamed Donkey Jacket when I look at David King on my game.
-
Majority of Hags that just camp hooked survivors will also benefit from this challenge. lol
-
Clown had potential in some awesome chase music, some type of horror carnival theme would've been so good.
Hag with some voodoo type of chase theme would've been really cool too.
-
I remember Left 4 Dead games had good captions (even in vs) it will tell you the killer sounds when they were near, which is weird because recently I was thinking about how can deaf people play DBD without captions. I think when the killer is nearby I think they should add some kinda caption message for the terror radius (obviously stealthy killers wouldn't have this) and other captions like chainsaw sounds, humming (for Huntress), children singing (Freddy) etc.
-
I like playing Hag but I refuse to trap in front of the hooked survivor, something I feel could be changed with her. Trapping the area the survivor is hooked is fine, but when you trap around the whole hook, that's when it becomes ridiculous. Most use her to camp the survivors on hooks rather than trap the gens or random spots survivors could walk past. I love to play her but when going against most Hag killers I wish I would have a flashlight or urban evasion. lol

And I think most self healing perks are a waste of a slot since medkits are just better.
You wanna know why as a survivor I prefer my teammates to run Inner Strength? It encourages them to cleanse totems. I can't tell you how many times since this perk was released teams I come across counters NOED because of it.
-
I've always wondered are ruin skillchecks any easier to hit on a keyboard compared to using a controller?
-
It's something I refuse to do as killer because as a survivor being slugged is just wasting the survivors time when you could just hook them so they could move on to the next game. If it would rarely happen I probably wouldn't mind, but when it becomes common happening every couple of games it becomes highly annoying.
I wish there was an option to just give up while on the ground and the entity takes you, sorta like the end game collapse. Would make things so much easier and you wouldn't need to DC and the killer would still get the sacrifice.

Your opinion seems to have absolutely zero to do with my original comment. I wasn’t talking about hook camping. I was talking about hiding by gens that I’ve chased survivors off of. So few survivors expect it and freak out when I suddenly reappear as a non stealth killer like Clown or Plague.
I quoted you because you said you like to scare people with Insidious, I went into detail about what scares I like from this game. I guess I really didn't need to quote your original message for that so I do apologize.

@[Deleted User] said:
No.
Insidious is fun once getting out of the hook camping mindset. It’s so awesome scaring the beejeebus out of survivors returning to a gen I’m waiting near.
I've never once been scared from a Insidious camper, mainly because they make it obvious (no survivor being chased or hurt while someone is hooked) what I love about the game is being jump scared from killers like Pig, Myers, GF coming up outta nowhere hitting me or pulling me off gens, popping Hag traps in accident, running into killers in accident (etc) stuff like that. I just this Insidious is lame and and not scary at all. I'd rather the killer come to me chasing me rather than going to the killer knowing they are in one spot camping, that's not what horror is to me and is such a big reason I dislike Insidious, not just because the person being camped is just having to do nothing but hang on a hook, but also it just ruins the game experience. Whenever I thought of camping I always thought of shooting games, but now it's something in a asymmetrical horror game. lol
I mean no disrespect and respect your opinion, I just figured I'd also give my own.
-
Honestly I am against camping, but when DBD makes a perk for it (promoting it basically) there's not much to be done about it. It's just really confusing because devs have said BBQ was made to stop camping killers, yet you still have a perk for camping. I still can't figure out if they want camping in their game or not, if not they should probably change the Insidious perk. lol

Again it doesnt matter if you can see him, if he is there... People will suicde on hook and the game is 3 minutes long with everybody depiping
I guess it depends on rank, really. If I see a Leatherface take someone in the basement I make sure to see if he's on anyone before making the save or try to spot him on the map.

Insidious will be changed in patch 3.4 to also have the undetectable status, you wont be able to see their aura, but you can probably use the above mentioned (brain) to figure out whats going on.
That explains why Kindred got a buff, I suppose. Will killers like Pig who are using just stealth to camp the hook still show up with Kindred? If not I don't even know why Kindred has the killer aura then, lol.
-
The new Kindred will help, it won't counter anything but you'll know not to go for the save.
-
I know. I'm just confused because the new changes seem just as good in my opinion, hearing her phase throughout the whole map will throw many survivors off their game. I would still save my add-ons, but that's just me.
-
I think it's okay, definitely not the smartest move to release this perk with a killer that collects blood orbs (this perk doesn't counter it I'm told) so it's definitely not a perk running the first week or so while everyone is going to be using Oni.
-
Why would spirits waste the prayer beads though? The new prayer beads seems really good to me, not knowing where she's actually phasing seems pretty strong to me.
-
I don't think he should be touched, he's fun to play and go against. Probably the best killer released since Myers in my opinion.
-
@anarchy753 said:
What you say makes sense, but without blood orbs he has no power.
I don't think it's ever good for anything to completely disable a killer's power. There are downsides like calm spirit against doctor, but he still functions and can still inflict madness.
I don't think all perks should counter or disable it but perks you use to rescue others like "Babysitter" should definitely not leave any kind of trail. The perks only 8 seconds long I believe, so I don't find it a big issue.
Although it is funny and a bit ironic they chose to release the survivor perk "Lucky Break" with this killer considering it's useless against Oni. LOL
-
If you're running perks to increase action speeds like leader or resiliency does that make Any Means Necessary faster to fix the pallets?
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/850258#Comment_850258
Would it be considered too strong if:
You start the trial at full health
Once injured, survivors see your broken status in the HUD (but not the killer) and you retain all the current benefits of the perk?
Or you could start the match injured but your status doesn't show you're hurt till the killer downs you, while always keeping the broken symbol off the killers screen. So the killer will then know you're hurt but won't know you're running the perk, this way it won't get a buff so you won't need to be spawning in fully healed.
-
Only good thing this perk is for is if you're lucky to last at the end the killer can't keep you slugged for the 4k.
-
Bond doesn't show the killers aura though, now you'll always be able to tell if the killer is camping close. Well, I assume the killers aura will still show regardless who is hooked as long as you're running Kindred.
-
@PinkMochaV2 said:

So instead of activating only when you are on hook, now it activates when anyone is on hook for everyone?
This is a good perk, even for SWF. Just one person needs to take it.
I think if you're running the perk you will always see the auras but others will not see the auras unless you are the one hooked or they are running Kindred too.
-
I can see so many killers purposely slugging knowing about the DC penalty, lol. And I assume the penalty applies to killers too that rage DC, correct?
-
Just break the pallet, most killers do it anyways (especially at shack) and with this perk it's gonna encourage killers to do it more. Perks not OP, if killer decides to break the pallets the perk becomes useless. I still remember when everyone was saying Deliverance was OP during the PTB and it's rarely used, lol.
