  • I don't buy killer skins unless I happen to unlock them in a rift. I just don't see the reason to spend $10 for a skin I can only see the menus (I guess mori animations too), it's a bit ridiculous but that's just my opinion. I'm not gonna go outta my way to buy a skin I can't see during gameplay just to look cool going against survivors. It really is too bad this game can't be both first person and third person, but I know it's too late now to ever add third person as killer because that would require changing up the gameplay which they haven't done at all since this game first came out a couple years ago.

  • Ghost face players that don't leave the hook, Pigs who tunnel helmets and Spirits that go back to the hook and Hags that put 3 traps in front of a hooked survivor.

I don't hate any killer, I just hate how lots of people play them.

You are in for a surprise.

Btw, survivors and killers get roughly the same amount of bloodpoints.

Getting BBQ stacks over WGLF stacks seems easier to me. Plus if I fail at killer it's on me, having to rely on random teammates is frustrating.

  • I feel like solo survivor at red ranks and killer people say are most frustrating at red ranks. As a survivor main I've started playing killer more and I'm having a blast.

Once I get to red rank as killer I don't know if I'll be frustrated like I am with survivor, because in my head I keep thinking with BBQ even if I don't do great it's still better then the points I get playing solo survivor.

  • I think it's fine, however my only gripe is there is no way to counter the notification killer gets. It then becomes annoying as a solo survivor, so I'm hoping someday they come out with a perk to counter it. Because on Freddy, Oni, Blight, Nurse, Billy (etc) it can become problematic, especially when those killers run it with undying/ruin.

  • I don't wanna sound rude but is 9 hours really worth the charm? I get the way they're doing the charm codes is dumb but I'm not even bothered or trying because charms are pointless, or at least in my opinion.

  • Wouldn't Myers be better with just removing a tier to power up? I don't know, it just seems like it takes too much time and when you have survivors on gens it can be annoying. I can see why people don't wanna use him. I know they're not the exact same power but the way they did Oni seemed balanced, least he gets his power by applying damage, which then applies pressure and not having to rely on stalking aka staring at survivors.

  • I mean I'm on console and understand the frustration, but are people actually worked up about charms? No one really stares at the hooks and on survivor you can barely notice them.

  • The main issue is too tier killers are running this build like Freddy, which becomes a little too strong. Now on low tier killers like Wraith I think it's great and doesn't come off as too strong, but how do you balance it so it's not too strong for top tier killers but not too weak for low tier killers? It's definitely a meta now though, basically everyone is using it. I do see them changing the perk on the future but I don't know if it will be changed anytime soon.

  • Charms are the main issue for me about the rift. They're hard to see on survivors for one, secondly there are so many reskin charms in the rift it's annoying, they clearly just add some charms just to make the rift more of a grind.

  • I just got iron will tier 3 and had no idea it was a bug. Hopefully it's fixed soon because it's one of my favorite go to survivor perks.

  • First off let me say I appreciate the work Hexy put into this tournament and respect the guy but I don't think the scoring was handled the right way because if you're gonna call them the best a good SWF team wouldn't leave a member behind, some of these teams could've made saves but purely didn't because of being nervous of giving the other team another point for a hook. Maybe the game isn't a great tournament game, but I would've loved to see all teams try to get every survivor out like an actual game. For me it just didn't show the skill the teams potentially had because they were more worried about a scoreboard.

  • I haven't been using DS recently because I'm trying not to depend on it but the community is really split is the best way to put it, I guess. You have killers that won't tunnel, even when none of the survivors run DS. On the otherhand there's killers that will absolutely tunnel and take advantage when a group isn't running DS, which can be annoying and I can understand why people decide to run DS. There's multiple play styles which is why this perk exist, I get it. Maybe if survivors start working or get healed I could maybe be up for DS then deactivating but I absolutely don't agree with a nerf if a killer hooks another survivor then DS should deactivate and that's because of camping basement killers, it wouldn't require the killer to leave the area at all.

  • I've played with both PC and console and both have good and bad players, just like any gamer of any game some people will be bad, while others will be good. There's no actual way to prove if either side is bad and even if their was, who cares? It's just a video game.

  • The only time I got use from boil over was when Kate was first released when playing on the map the game, but since then didn't they make more hooks for all maps? It's just not a useful perk with how close and how many hooks there are now. Maybe if you run it in a SWF with breakout but you see I hate that, I hate how some perks are only good if you're grouped up with a SWF.

  • I mean when some rift challenges have you cleansing totems of course you're gonna run into people not wanting to give up totems.

  • @28_stabs said:

And then we will go back to buffing DS, because killers will begin to tunnel all survivors one by one to death, ez life.

Some still do, even when no one is running DS.

  • I don't think this perk will ever be changed and honestly I don't blame them if it doesn't. I was playing yesterday solo and most my games no one had DS and when the killer wasn't running a obsession perk.... man they had no problem tunneling. This isn't me complaining, play how you want. However, I can see why devs don't wanna change it because people who say they don't "tunnel" well that's fine, but there are a whole hell of a lot of people that do.

  • Honestly I don't even know why people bother complaining. So much stuff happening in the world and people's first thought "I'm gonna go on a web forum and complain about how people play a video game" it's just dumb. I run into bad teammates all the time but I'm not gonna go make a post about it because not everyone is gonna be good at the game.

You can opt out if you wish. There's an option in the settings that you can disable any time you're not in a lobby.

That aside, I'm not so sure chat on console would work so well. Typing out a message with a controller can take quite a while, so by the time you can type out what you want to say (other than a short 'gg'), the other people are most likely going to be long gone. There are chatpads out there, but not many people have one.

As far as private messages go, I'm only speaking for myself, but I'm not really a fan of private messages. People have a tendency to say things they wouldn't normally say in public since they think nobody else will ever see it, if you know what I mean.

Keyboards work with typing on Xbox, also Xbox controllers have the chat pad accessory.

There is an offering to guarantee hatch location? Can you give a description to me?

It's not a guarantee and there's actually a couple new offerings in this patch. If you go to patch notes on the forums they are all listed there.

  • Is Feng honestly that loud when injured? I feel like out of all those choices Jane is the loudest, I always hear her moaning on the map when she's injured.

  • I don't know much about this stuff but sometimes when I play and use an exhaust perk like lith or sprint burst my screen will sometimes shutter/freeze and due to that it causes me to run into stuff which then leads me to getting downed/hit. Is this sometimes happening because of the fps people are talking about in here or is it a issue on my end like my connection, console (etc)?

  • From lots of PC streamers I've watched (not all, but most) whenever a killer doesn't do great their first assumption is it's a console killer, even though sometimes it's actually a PC killer once they check the endgame leaderboards. I guess lots of PC players assume you can't be a great killer using a controller? I dunno.

  • F13 is more relaxed compared to DBD. I think both are fun but I think it's more rewarding to survive on DBD because IMO F13 is super easy as counselor (aka survivor) when compared to DBD, which I find DBD a challenge.

There's also no proper rank system on F13, so 90% of the Jason's that don't cheat and run into are low level.

The one thing DBD well and thought ahead was not being able to matchmake with a party member being able to be the killer. One of F13's biggest mistakes was being able to matchmake where a party member could be Jason, it ruined the game a lot for others due to counselors cheating and teaming up with Jason and the F13 devs refuse to ban cheaters.

Also I think survive the night is stupid, the killer shouldn't have a timer to kill someone, it should either be escape or die and not game over once the timer is up.

Also as stated being able to kill Jason was a terrible idea, I get they were trying to show respect to the movies but on a video game it just doesn't work.

I will admit having game chat and variety of ways to escape is fun and it gives it variety instead of just repairing generators or being lucky to find a hatch. I wouldn't mind DBD adding more escape options, but I think lots of people would freak out or complain so I understand why they keep it how it is.

Both are great though but in the end I feel DBD is more balanced and I'm thankful the devs actually take action against cheaters/exploiters. I feel like they care more about their playerbase compared to F13, which is sad because F13 was a kickstarter game and the devs let cheaters and exploiters run wild.

    This is correct.

The camera difference is one of the most important aspects of DBD. The Killer is a predator and the Survivors are prey. The cameras help shape their behavior along those lines by modelling in a gameplay way how real predators and prey interact.

It still would be a great option for people who get motion sickness from first player games. I know a couple people who are like me and can't play killer due to motion sickness, so I think adding a third person option would bring in more players.

PC and Console survivors(no matter the rank) are mostly the same, barely any difference, killers too up to purple ranks, a purple rank killer on PC is way better than a purple rank killer on Console, nothing impossible, it's just now console survivors are getting matched with killers on their skill level

If you dont want crossplay dont ask to ######### the PC players over, just disable crossplay on your end.

I was only asking how it's going, nowhere did I state in my post it's unfair to cross play with PC players.

  • Have you tried cross play out yet? Is it really that bad console players going against PC players? I haven't tried yet but I'm on PS4.

  • So is this to make looping easier or can it backfire against the killer making infinites? I only ask because BL was changed due to infinite, so I'm a little confused. If this is a change to make it easier to catch survivors then why was BL nerfed to begin with? I'm only curious but definitely excited to see the PTB.

  • @Peanits said:

The DC penalties will be making a return for another round of testing once we've iron out the kinks.

Will consoles have this test with dedicated servers now enabled on PS4?

  • I don't really play killer but maybe have the hex totem spawn in a couple minutes after the game starts so it's not instantly cleansed? They could even make that a new perk for hex totems if they want. That way it can remain a hex totem while not getting cleansed right away.

  • I feel like NOED has always been a meta on PS4.

Don't be a potato and just hit great skill checks and you would be fine against the current Ruin.

Your response makes absolutely no sense considering one of the main reasons ruin was changed was due to new players coming into the game brand new. How do you expect them to hit those skill checks? The red skull checks are gone and that will definitely help them gain new players and with the new Xbox and PS5 arriving at the end of the year it's a smart move because they will definitely port the game and will make the game more friendly to new players. So instead of calling people a "potato" how about you give the game a chance and if you can't seem to succeed without ruin (one perk out of how many killer perks?) you might want to evaluate how you play the game.

I used to be someone who rolled their eyes when someone said the devs only care about survivors. But this has made me into an actual 20%er. I am forced to conclude that either the devs are complete idiots or they only listen to survivors.

So I intend to get on the toxic killer protest bandwagon. If we make the survivors whine because killers are being toxic over the Ruin nerf, either the devs will either revert Ruin (or add something else to keep gens from being done super fast), or nerf killers more. If it's the first option, great. If it's the second, bye.

So yeah. I'm gonna start stockpiling moris. And I'm gonna start searching the blood web for NOED and Franklin's. And I'm going to pray BHVR comes to their senses.

Yeah, that's great because then they won't get nerfed if every killer starts using mori, NOED, Franklin's (etc). Did you fully read about why ruin got nerfed? I do believe a high percentage used the perk and they said it made the game unenjoyable for some. So yes, go got your pitchfork and do it your way instead of waiting till the PTB and voicing your opinion. Maybe this isn't the perfect balance, so maybe tomorrow give feedback? Maybe there's a way to change ruin without upsetting the killer community while at the same time keeping it enjoyable as survivor. If it's terribly unbalanced I know they would change it regardless if you believe that or not, I mean they did listen when killers voiced their opinion on MoM. All I'm saying is slow down, ruin is still untouched on live servers and give the devs time to see the PTB feedback.

Isnt that what the devs did to the killers? Make them not fun because of changes?

Yeah, the "devs" but the original OP made it sound like the whole survivor community is at fault, hench why they are wanting to make the game not fun for survivors.

  • So you're taking out your frustration on the community when the devs made the changes? So your goal is to purposely make the game unfun for other survivors because of a decision made by the devs? You think that will make the game better or make the devs listen to you? So your logic is when something you don't agree with is nerfed by the devs the best way to go about it is to purposely try to take the fun outta the game for everyone else. Put the blame where it belongs, not all survivors were wanting a ruin nerf. If you got a problem voice your opinion to the devs but taking it out on the whole survivor community is just immature. Sorry if I sound rude but the way you're going about things won't solve anything.

Those aren't good survivors then, sorry to bring it to ya.Those survivors are "red ranks" but they aren't the actual red ranks,You'd know that,by watching tru3 play on stream, considering he has stuck with this game for the whole time,he himself said that if he didn't play against bad survivors,he'd become a survivor main. That's coming from a guy which has been playing the game for more than 3 years, and went through everything

Did you watch the Twitch Rivals DBD tournament? I think only one person ran ruin and the majority were experienced killers and survivors and I believe most killers got 3-4k without ruin. I don't believe a good killer needs ruin, it's just something optional they can use.

  • So if ruin never existed you're saying you wouldn't have ever stuck to playing this game? Sounds kinda silly, maybe try not to depend on a single perk? I seen lots of great killers succeed without ruin going against good players.

  • I rarely come across any Huntress on console, so if it would help more people use her then yeah.

  • You think they are doing the doc changes because they are survivor sided? That makes no sense. They're trying to make him less annoying, not weaker. There's a very big difference. Why would you want any killer to be annoying to go against?

  • They shouldn't have added so many charms, I think they were honestly introduced just to make the grind longer. Did they ever say why the charms were introduced in the game anyways? Hopefully next rift all charms are only on the free rift and not premium, but I doubt they'll do that.

  • @ZupBear said:

A lot of the outfits can be bought separately outside of the rift. If you've already purchased an item do you get nothing? Because in that case it may not be worth it, otherwise I think it's a pretty good deal.

They added rift cosmetics into the store already?

  • Meg gets a full outfit as well, I think she gets purple jeans.

Also I could've sworn Nea gets a shirt under the free items of the rift.

  • @LegionOfDumb said:

Depends on what's on the next rift. The charms were all negligible for me, all the new cosmetics looked good, the only recolor I didn't like was Meg's hair (cause I hate that haircut regardless), and getting access to those stories were pretty cool.

I forgot to mention the charms, there were way too many and most of them were just duplicate recolors.... Charms are cool for killers because you can actually see them on the hooks but hard to notice on survivors so hopefully they calm down with the charms and put most the charms in the free section and not the premium pass. I just don't think any charms should be bought with money, they just do very little for the game.

  • I'm not sure if maps will be changed anytime soon, you gotta remember BL was nerfed to fix multiple loops, so instead of fixing the problem with the maps their solution to the problem was changing the perk instead of the maps.

  • Yeah, I'll probably skip it. I bought the first pass and kinda regret it, takes long to level up in the rift and the challenges were more annoying than fun for me. If the next set of challenges are fun for the next rift I may consider getting the premium pass again, but I highly doubt it.

How dare killers do anything that interferes with survivor "fun"? I hate this new metric for balancing the game, because the devs never seem to care about killer fun.

I honestly have no clue what you're implying. You upset that people don't like to be slugged on the ground or survivors using certain map offerings with the new DC penalty?

Thats just the first time too? So if every killer starts 4k slugging you'll have to wait for bleed out now?

Use Haddonfield offers if killers are purposely slugging with DC penalty being live. lol
