SURVIVOR: We'll Make It, Botany Knowledge, Second Wind, Sprint Burst. Quick heals feels good, and Second Wind is kinda alternative for Decisive, but I like it.
DEATHSLINGER: Stridor, Forced Penance, BBQ, Save the Best for Last. Stridor is my crutch perk, without it I lose Survivor easily. Forced Penance punishes cocky plays from Survivors.

It will only work when there are enough killers to pair against survivors. Once there are too many survivors in queue, matchmaking will start working as it has always worked, which is not at all.
Yeah.
But developers are aware that this will happen and after implementing MMR they will buff Killers / nerf Survivors' meta perks to compensate... will they?

How did they look on PTB?

But it can totally be what leads to a snowball against survivors very reliant on their exhaustion.
Blood Echo can be good, but the thing is, it CAN BE, but it's not on regular basis. It is inconsistent bcs some Survivors don't dun Exhaustion perks, and Exhaustion on those Survivors is completely harmless.
Why not only Blood Echo, but also other perks with interesting effects like Fire Up, Off the Record, Dragon's Grip, Dance With Me, many others can't be buffed to an extent to they are very appealing, but not super strong? It would integrate more variety of perks into the current meta.

The perk's cooldown is absolutely ridiculous. There's no reason for a perk that only activates on a hook and already has counterplay baked into the perk to have a cooldown. Imagine that Make Your Choice had a cooldown of 90 seconds, or Babysitter a cooldown of 60. That would be so unnecessary, and it's the same with Blood Echo.
Why those perk even have cooldowns? I am sure lots of people don't run Make Your Choice, Blood Echo, Windows of Opportunity, etc only because of the ugly and unnecessary cooldowns preventing them from being strong. And yet, they wouldn't be op if they did have no cooldown. It absolutely baffles me.

In my matches I almost never see them.
However, youtube have a plenty of pretty fresh videos where GhostFaces fly and throw hatchets at 1923 hatchets per second speed as well as feng mins ascending and revealing all players they are the Entity itself.

They don't call it "use a mori", they say "have a survivor die by your hand", which is basically a Mori unless you are Pyramidhead or running Devour Hope.
If we put it more accurately: "By your hand, kill 1 Survivor with the [Killer]."
-

I agree completely.
Just make sure we get rid of those "kill by your hand" daily rituals...
Haven't seen the mori ritual for at least half a year. Do they still exist?

You are right, I DID.
YOU ignored the fact where I said I also run Kindred, and I also get unhooks regularly.
Kindred does not mean you are not responsible for unhooks. Everyone has pretty clearly answered your question by this point. The categories are very clear about how you score points. You can cite whataboutisms of VERY SPECIFIC examples if you want, but it doesn't change how Emblems are calculated. You know what you need to do. Either do it, and pip up, or treat this game like some sort of Metal Gear Solid game where you avoid as much contact as possible and lose points. It's up to you.
I am not selfish. I am fairly altruistic Survivor using Kindred who rescues his hooked friends when others are very busy.
This discussion was started because of one particular game where I had Kindred, others were agitated to get hooks, plague was messing around the hook, I was broken and had no Dead Hard and Borrowed Time. Trying to save that guy would most likely result in me getting downed or her starting to slug with Infectious Fright.
I think I did my best. I repaired Gens when others got tunelled. I didn't go for a very risky rescue against camping Plague bcs it was too dangerous and bcs I saw others who are healthy and can take a rescue with lesser risks.
I should have written more details about the match. I was too emotional.
-
@Exerath1992 said:
So, first I will.say the emblem system is busted. I think it should be nearly impossible to de-pip if you win.
Beyond that, think about the POINT of the emblem and ranking systems. Its a test. Doing well at one thing well isn't enough at red ranks. You have to be good at everything, and consistently prove it. And if you consistently only doone thing in the game, then the emblems did their job: kept you from ranking up and showed you that your playstyle needs to change to continue up the ladder. Besides, if you lose some rank progress, it doesnt actually affect you negatively in any way other than reducing the difficult of the opposition. If this game was a fluke and you typically hop into chase to get that emblem up, then NBD.
One question popped in my mind.
What it its AFK Wraith and doing gens is the ONLY thing you can do unless you have Object of Obsession?

My standard perk load-out right now is Botany Knowledge, Kindred, Spine Chill, and We're Gonna Live Forever.
None of those aid in getting safe unhooks. I still get them constantly. "I can't afford myself risky saves when others can do it" is coward-speak, and it explains why your Altruism score is in the hole.
If you wanna gen-jockey, and EXCLUSIVELY gen-jockey, that is certainly your choice. But you can't then turn around and whine when the game noticed you don't do anything to actually interact with the Killer, even when it comes to saving his victims on hook.
You ignored the fact that I use Kindred and that I saw others running to the hook...

1: You don't have to teabag to get the killers attention. If he is commited to chasing one person you can attempt a body block to take a hit for them.
2: Totems are worth doing if your team is doing well. If you got a few gens done and the killer is barely applying pressure, ease up on the repairs and look for totems. He may not be running NOED but you will cry if you ran circles around him all match only to get one shot+face camped at the end.
3: You do not need perks to make a rescue. Just be sure the killer is no where near by and don't run to the hook. If he see's your tracks going for a save he will likely go back and trade. If you unlock Borrowed Time I highly recommend it. Don't assume the person your trying to save has DS. Also don't unhook right in the killer's face without BT if you can help it. Most important. If the killer isn't giving you any opportunities to make a rescue then just don't go for it. You'll only be adding to the body count. Do gens and escape.
- Bodyblock you say? It can be helpful, but what if it is a Killer with in-built one shots like Bubba? What if it is the Killer who can down fast like Huntress or Spirit? What if the Killer has STBFL so taking hits is rather detrimental than helpful? What if it is Myers with 99% Evil Within? In that match played against Plague who made me broken. What should I have done there?
- That Plague didn't apply pressure. Instead, she was looking for easier targets eliminating which would make her game easier - guy who was just unhooked and who had no DS. Still have to do Totems against Campers and Tunnelers?
- You didn't address the fact that I saw others running to hooked Survivors to get rescue with Kindred. You mean, I should have ignored the Kindred value and try to reach the hook first? And again, I was broken, and the Plague was messing around the hook. We couldn't even get Benevolent points for healing.

Actually, yes.
You get pips and points for playing in FOUR CATEGORIES.
By your own admission, you only cared about one of them. It is therefore not surprising you de-pipped.
My question now. Why should I have done?
- Be chased? He was already chasing others. Running towards him and saying "chase me" via teabagging or other means would be rude and inefficient bcs I deny the Survivors being chased efforts. It is called teamwork when they get chased so others can do gens.
- Do totems? Why I should spend plenty of time to prevent a perk from appearing that the Killer might not even have? Furthermore, NOED is a rare perk surprisingly, so sending time on totems to get only 1k bloodpoints for each is not great thing I can afford.
- Save from hooks? I am not meta Survivor, I don't run Dead Hard, DS, Unbreakable, I can't afford myself risky saves when others can do it, and they already do it. I see them with Kindred.

You asked why you didn't get more points and I told you. There's no bias to it; you didn't gain a ton of points because your team flew through the gens (thereby making you not get boldness points by doing totems or being in chases and not get altruism because no one was needing rescue or healing; half of your potential points are minimal now).
If you want more points and the killer is not very good, then yeah, you kind of gotta "force" them to chase you or you're not going to score a lot of points.
I didn't ask u why I didn't get lots of bloodpoints. I asked why I didn't get rewarded, why I lost pip. For what reason you are thinking I care about bloodpoints I've got in this match?
-
@tippy2k2 said:
Yes, you guys went too fast
The only points you would have gotten were from repairs. Everything else from your description, you'd get virtually zero points on.
It's why I get baffled how many people gen rush, especially when BPS or something is in play. You're losing a ton of points but rushing through as fast as you possibly can...
You blame me for gen rushing? But what should I have done? Do totems and prevent the perk from appearing that the Killer might not even have? Or make the Killer chase me when he chases others? What a biased statement.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
Sounds like something the killer could try to get around/abuse. Deep Wounds used to be affected by chase, but killers found a way around that and now Deep Wounds doesn't go down as long as the survivor is running.
DS should just deactivate if the survivor does anything like touch a gen or go for a hook save. If they're furthering the objective, they're not being tunneled, and if they're making an unsafe hook save then the killer should be able to punish it. This would put the deactivation of DS in the survivor's hands, just like the Deep Wounds timer is in the survivor's hands.
I would love this change, but I am pretty sure it will affect solo experience in a very negative way. Some individuals will not work on a gen since doing so will leave them vulnerable, and instead they will run around killers, ruining games for players of both sides.

@dspaceman20 said:
The aura reading is too much. Its a free wall hack that will literally destroy any chance for the survivor to mind game.
Also your counters aren't too good as well as you can still suffer from hemorrhages even when not injured. (I have seen and experienced this) solo survivor is a terrible because it requires someone to be killed or leave the trial in order for thr effect to take place. Which most of the time you won't get uses out of.
As I know, the only thing that makes HEALTHY Survivors bleed is Freddy's "Z" block. In all other cases Hemorrhage disappears after healing is done. It is true even for Pig's add-ons making trapped Survivors bleed. Its effect is gone after heal.

The Devs know about it without repeating it 300 times per day thinking that YOUR Thread is more unique than every other Thread.
They have talked about trying to remove the abusive side of the Perk, however, it has to be kept in mind that not everyone is using it to run into the Killers face. And if DS will be nerfed into the ground (which is something many Killer players probably want), it also becomes useless for those who play in a fair way.
e.g. the DSes I get to work are 100% due to tunneling Killers. But I am not running into the Killers face, meaning that there are games where I am not able to use my DS, but if I do, it is justified.
The Devs know about it without repeating it 300 times per day thinking that YOUR Thread is more unique than every other Thread.
My post is not unique at all, I even wrote "It has been said tons of times". Developers for sure will reconsider DS, but when they'll do it? Original DS wasn't significantly changed for like 3 years. What if the story repeats?
They have talked about trying to remove the abusive side of the Perk
They also told us long time ago that they will make significant reconsiderations on maps (as items, the stream devs told us about map changes was very long time ago, like 2-3 years), Vigil, Self Care. Developers talk a lot, but do far less in comparison. Do you see Vigil buffed?
And if DS will be nerfed into the ground (which is something many Killer players probably want), it also becomes useless for those who play in a fair way.
I stick around the forums for a long time and have never seen a person willing the DS to become trash, and the vast majority of players wish Decisive be nerfed or changed fairly anyway. No people other than hopeless killer mains wish it be destroyed.
the DSes I get to work are 100% due to tunneling Killers. But I am not running into the Killers face, meaning that there are games where I am not able to use my DS, but if I do, it is justified.
I also bring DS solely as a defensive tool so I use it very rarely and the uses almost always are completely justified. However, I play Killer a lot as well. I play Killer and Survivor roughly in ratio 1:1 and can easily see how cocky Survivors wishing to bully abuse Decisive and pair it with Unbreakable so they are basically invincible.

Okay I won't. A lot of killer perks aren't "counterable" either they can only be mitigated. They don't get touched either because they don't need to be. BBQ cannot be countered as you say only "mitigated" as you say. And its been that way for a lot longer than current DS.
DS and Unbreakable isn't invincible, what kind of silly argument is that. If DS+Unbreakable were invincible we'd have a 100% survivor escape rate.
BBQ has real and safe (consistent) way to be countered - Lockers or even some perks such as Distortion and Sole Survivor (they are weak af, but nevertheless).

What's the counter then? And don't say slugging. Thats mitigation. And only if they don't have unbreakable. If they have unbreakable its complete invincibility with no counterplay.
The only real counter is Nurse with god-like precision so you can break through any Survivors' stuff..

Developers seem to not hear the killers' complaints about survivors' meta perks which is already affecting the game in general. Less and less people are wishing to play Killer right now which leads to Survivor matchmaking becoming horrendous. People should wait 5 or even more minutes to get a lobby and play with crouching Ash and self caring Claudettes. Newbies want to plat the game too, but due to lack of killers, they are matched against rank 1 Spirit who absolutely destroys them..
-
If it is a Nurse with god-like precision, she can breakthrough Borrowed Time with no problem. Here is why Decisive is needed, though even with both of them Amazing Nurses can eliminate your very quickly if they want.

You shouldn't be able to dead hard through trapper traps. Not just from a gameplay balance perspective but also a logical one you still stepped through it.
Dead Hard also allows you to dodge AOE attacks such as Shock Therapy. How is it possible to dodge ground attack when it doesnt event damage?
-
There is no reason to do it?
I personally love the new HUD, but understand people who find it distracting. So yeah, keeping old HUD as a mod with added hook counter and pictures would be a solution that everyone would be happy with.
-
Let's compare Dead Hard with all other Exhaustion perks.
- Balanced Landing, Lithe, Head On - require Survivors to work with their environment in order to get benefits from the perk.
- Adrenaline - basically rewards Survivors for completing their main Objective.
- Sprint Burst - can be activated at any time, but may critically backfire by forcing Survivors to slowly walk.
As for Dead Hard itself:
- Makes Survivors feel okay staying injured. Since Survivors using this perk want to heal to lesser extent, it indirectly increases gen speed.
- It allows skillless gameplay. Unlike all previous exhaustion perks demanding wise play from Survivors, Dead Hard is designed to erase mistakes they make by dashing to a Pallet or a Window and denying good play from the Killer.
In conclusion, Dead Hard requires serious treatment and redesign since now it grants too much feeling of safety.
-
@Almo please, change your opinion about Object of Obsession. This perk might be fun for Survivors, but it ruins experience for players on the other side, If you play a Killer with small terror radius, this perk makes you feel naked and helpless.
-
@DBD78 said:
I thought it was already a good perk to use for Bond, Kindred and Windows but now it will be insane seeing the killer so far from the hook with Kindred and Bond is just crazy.
In case you didn't know, Kindred has a range restriction. It may not reveal the Killer when he is further than 24 metres away from the hooked Survivor. I guess it was made to prevent players from always seeing the Killer (4 old Open-Handeds together could give 8*4 = 32 range bonus, resulting in Kindred having 32+16 = 48 metres aura range).

I am baffled by the fact I have to upgrade 3 times perks like Distressing, Infectious Fright, Unnerving Presense and Overwhelming Presence... for Freddy.
-
Tinkerer should not give Killers Stealth after all 5 gens are completed.
Currently it does, which does not fit into the perk design where it meant to stop gens from being done, not to do stuff in the late game stage.
-
Try Ghost Face with Dark Devotion.
This was my main perk for Ghostie for a while because seeing Survivors being very confused that I still have to Terror Radius is priceless! The Stealth from this perk lasts for 30 seconds, when GF's base power cooldown is 30 seconds as well. Hitting the Obsession in this case basically eliminates your cooldown of being hidden, though without ability to stalk.

<3 : Blight, Nurse. (obviously if they are good)

Or Cleanse 5 totems as a secondary objective as Survivor like the devs intended.
You can replace perks like Decisive Strike ,Unbreakable ,Borrowed Time ,Dead Hard or Sprint Burst or any other meta surv perk with Small game and Detective's Hunch. You can also bring a map if you want 4 meta perks to stay that much
Cleansing Totems cannot be considered Survivors' secondary objective at least because Survivors don't know how many Totems are remaining in the trial.
