So conclusion: Nurse is broken. So is some of that stuff that the survivors brought. Both should be addressed.
Very true

A not inconsiderable proportion of the people in this game have an extreme need for attention. I mean, are you missing something in real life? Why do you have to go to a forum to get validation for how awesome you are because you're toxic to other toxic people? People with this mindset are the biggest problem in this community, which makes every 2 matches an absolute shitshow. Most of the time it's exactly these people who want to punish the players in the next match because other players teased them a match before.
Now go and be proud of yourself ... nurse main ... lol
I didn't view these Survivors as toxic, they just lacked coordination, because of which they happened to be all around the hook.
I don't view myself as toxic either, I never slug for the 4k, never tunnel and camp unless there are Survivors nearby.
What is your definition of toxicity?

So what?
Can't I express myself liking playing Nurse in the current meta?

Because when Nurse and Nea were just released, there was a bug that made a daily ritual appear saying "Kill 1 Survivor as Nea Karlsson".

He is fine as he is now
Can you please elaborate why he is fine and needs no changes?

There are so few Survivors and so many Killers that new killer players are likely to get cracked opponents.
Basically, mmr right now barely functions, if at all.

@Jivetalkin13 said:
Yes, absolutely. Information is critical in a game like DBD. If you know if someone is being chased and where they are being chased, then you know that its safe to work on gens.
this is that kind of information that swf have access to by default

Goodbye Nurses, Blight and Spirits/Bubbas, you'll never get to play a single match ever again.
Bad idea, get good
You will not believe, but I don't really mind going against Nurses, Blights and especially Spirits.
I instead would remove Artist, Clown and Doctor from my matchmaking.

You are using two perk slots to be able to get that healing speed.
You can still get faster speeds with medkits with the locker refill perk
I am using 1 perk slot to get infinite 16 seconds heals.

I will never understand the issue Survivors have with Pain Res + DMS.
Just stand up from the freaking gen when you see the Killer hooking Survivor. The Killer doesn't know which gen affected.
-
Nemesis is an uninspired Killer with strong 1v1 with little to no 1v4.
Nemesis doesn't reward creativity. Unlike Huntress that can make sick cross-map shots or Hillbilly that can make sick curves, Nemesis plays the same over and over again, just wheep.
-
@fulltonon said:
If you are hooking survivors in 30 seconds, I doubt you need DMS in first place.
DMS is buffed for Nurse, making comebacks for Survivors even more difficult.
-
@Marigoria said:
The problem is that devs wanted to "shake up the meta" yet brought killer meta back for no reason.
Pain Res + DMS is not gonna be meta, it is too easy to counter by standing up when a Survivor is getting hooked.
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
Well if it was so simple then why it was very meta before the balance update?
Also I think the main problem here is: It was nerfed and removed this combo so the meta perks are different but now it's again back... so nothing changed.
Pain Resonance + DMS is not the same as before the nerf. If you stand up - the Generator explodes, but does not give Loud Noise Notification, so the Killer still doesn't have an idea which gen got affected.

When was the last time you seriously used a mist offering?
I remember using a mist offering and then I got to Haddonfield. This is the map that doesn't have mist at all, lol

Those are not in-game screenshots right?
They look like concept art.
If the game looked like that back then, the "painterly effect" looked so nice indeed.
Those screenshots were taken in the game before the actual release, and most likely were adjusted after.
There are some more screenshots, a bit newer.

Nurse needs to be fixed at her core. Adding more band aids won’t do much as we’ve seen the the devs do this for 5 years only for nurse to still be the strongest killer for those 5 years
She needs a rework
Why Nurse needs a rework? Yes, she is the strongest, but is it a bad thing? Why she shouldn't be the strongest Killer?

I have lots of fun doing stupid things as killer, like the 115 Nurse with Bamboozle and Brutal. How to have fun as a Survivor?

So... nothing really changed?
The repair being filled at the speed you can see now is a cherry on top of the whole solo q thing. I have never felt so powerless in a game.

The man has no gen slowdown perks and they only added 10s lmao you'll live. If you want to complain about something decisive nerf would be fair or thanataphobia.
I am not talking about the balance. I am talking about how it feels.
Doing gens has always been the most boring part of the game. Now it is even worse.

Because most new players already struggle with regular Skill Checks. So you will be sitting on a Gen as a new player and probably constantly failing Skill Checks. And if you have to repair Gens to escape, you will have a hard time doing so.
Let alone that each failed Skill Check alerts the Killer and especially when players are new, the Killrates are very high. So new players will survive even less rounds and this is mostly due to the failed Skill Checks.
I really think that new players might quit the game pretty fast if they have trouble with doing the main Objective.
How often do new players react to Skill Checks too late instead of hitting it too early? I can't believe the Skill Checks being this large still cause problems
-

"Why players being rewarded for being good at the game is a No-Go?"
Do you really need an explanation why things which dont affect experienced players but hurt the experience of new players are bad?
How does it hurt the experience of new players?
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
This would be good for experienced players and bad for new players. More Skill Checks means more potential for great Skill Checks aka Bonus Progression. And from my experience, I have an easier time to hit the Great Skillchecks if the Killer is running Unnerving Presence.
New players would struggle, they even fail the regular Skill Checks.
And things which are bad for new players but wont affect or even benefit experienced players are a No-Go. I would also not really say that they are more exciting, in the end, they are Skill Checks. And those are not really ground-breaking or unique.
Last but not least - annoying Perk Builds like Impossible Skill Check-Doc dont need a Perk Slot freed for something else.
Why players being rewarded for being good at the game is a No-Go?
As for the Doctor builds - maybe make the Unnerving Presence basekit only apply to default Skill Checks, while repairing and healing, while stuff like Overcharge and Merciless Storm are unaffected.
-
@AGM said:
I mean, I'd be down for making it base kit in its current form (and then replacing it with a perk actually worth a perk slot), as repairing and healing in the killer's terror radius should be a risky play, but making skill checks more often and harder in general wouldn't really be fair to new players and lower MMR players, so I'm inclined to not want this.
More Skill Checks that have smaller sizes may be a shock to new players, but thats because they are new. They are not good at the game yet, so it is fine if they struggle a bit. Repairing Generators as it is now is boring af and doesn't require much skill at all.
Devs could add a Skill Check simulator mode to main menu though, so players can practice.

Nurse ignores pallets (vs) Pallet Stunning also makes the Nurse instantly bypass Chain Blink Window.
🤔
Nurse is holding back all other killers from getting buffs (vs) How could the Devs buff killers, don't they know this buffs Nurse?
🤔
Pick one. Everyone is talking out both sides of their mouth and its annoying.
Can you please elaborate the issue you have?

@Carth said:
"Nurse was the sole Killer who could deal with current gen speeds without needing gen slow down perks. Slower gen speeds is necessary for almost every other Killer, but it is gonna further make the Nurse stronger."
Nurse should be nerfed but you answered your own question. 90%+ of the killer roster gets decimated by good survivor teams/swfs. Ergo they need buffs, based on trends and the last stats provided by BHVR killers probably avg < 50% kills which bracketed by MMR probably means 75%+ escape rate for swf at high MMR which is just pretty awful.
Gen speed is also a problem due to disgusting map design, and looking on Eerie of Crows and Garden of Joy, the map design team hasn't learnt anything over 6 years.
-
Pallets should present at least some threat for the Nurse. Right now pallet-stunning her during chain blink window actually helps her by making her instantly start recharging her blinks. Leaving Nurse unstunned is better because she should go through chain blink window first before starting regaining tokens.
-
@Triplehoo said:
You just watched Otz's video... Am I right?
Even if he did, I don't think Nurse Range add-ons should increase Blink movement speed by 50% in addition to their main effects
-
He did that when he still had 3 gens.
-
@Blueberry said:
That's not really gen regression, more like gen block.
For the amount of people that complain about it I see like 99% of people not even attempting to counter it. They just eat it and complain.
All you have to do is let go right before they hook and then continue repairing, no block happens. The counter play is that easy yet basically no one does it.
How to counter Deadlock blocking? This perks applies passive gen pressure without even needing to patrol gens.

I’m surprised there are people who apparently hate playing against Trickster but don’t seem to have a problem with other ranged killers, especially since he’s historically apparently got one of the worst kill rates in the game.
Difficulty has no correlation with fun. I personally enjoy going against Blights, Nurses, Onis, Huntresses, but at the same time I find Doctor, Trickster, Artist, Nemesis, Clown, Freddy, Legion, Ghostface, Twins insufferable.

FUnny. I cant play her without double distance
Double range addon combo honestly makes Nurse much more trivial.
I am a Nurse main, and when I tried those addons after somebody said that Omega Blink is back, and holy #########. Those addons break the Nurse and make her straight overpowered.

What if the Nurse if really good, and she uses Retribution?

Pharmacy does its thing and its fine as is. It doesn't need to be made so strong people feel obligated to bring it. People don't bring it because there is so much survivor healing they don't feel like they need to bring it. More survivor healing isn't the answer to that, less survivor healing is.
To where being able to find a free medkit in a chest, and being able to seach a chest quickly and quietly sounds like a good thing to have.
But again, you can just bring a medkit yourself.
And wdym by 'obligated'? No Survivor and especially Killer are forced to run specific perks.
-
@Viskod said:
No. Pharmacy makes you open chests super fast and super quiet and gives you a free medkit.
That's all you need.
There's enough damn survivor healing in the game already. You don't need more, and you should have less.
Pharmacy is mostly obsolete because you can just bring a med-kit yourself. The changes i propose would make the perk a bit more popular due to more synergies possible. Don't you want to see more diversity in the meta?

Not sensitive but there's a line where it just get used to throw vile and vulgar language at someone. And from my and other players experience who play killer agree with that it gets only used for the survivors to insult and intimidate killers
what kind of 'intimidation'?
-
Why make a perk for beginners that makes them even more punished for failing skill checks? If gen randomly explodes, it is likely that the killer is gonna ignore it anyway.
-
Just hide the chat if you are highly sensitive to what you can read there.
-
I am not sure whether this is a joke or not.
-
@TheSubstitute said:
No. You're not stopping the game and dying to save a hooked teammate is a normal in-game event.
Somebody might consider throwing yourself at the killer to be smurfing but, if I see my teammates being poor winners as an example, I'll often stay behind to give the killer a kill as well. I don't consider that smurfing as I started the game wanting to escape but changed my mind due to my teammates trying to ruin another player's day. I would argue intent matters.
Why do you ask?
Basically, if you die - you get rewarded with weaker opponents.
There is no point in achieving high mmr at all, you dont get any bonuses for having it.
-
There are some possible exmplanations in my mind:
- Solo Survivors get frustrated by their team mates inefficiencies and due to general lack of communications.
- Survivors don't like going against this particular killer.
- Survivors get dedicated and get unfairly hit.
- Survivors lose hope when the killer snowballs hard enough.
-
None. No new chapters at all.
Fix the games foundation and already existing stuff before adding any more.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Because, this is how the game was designed?
And it is not entirely true either, if you are the last Survivor alive and you have never been hooked, you will get sacrificed immediatly.
Or do you mean the visual glitch which is currently happening? Sometimes you see only one Hook-Stage on the Survivor, even if they have been hooked twice.
Survivor has one hooked stage mark before being hooked -> gets second hooked stage mark after being hanged -> dies
so it is a visual bug?
-
Additionally I got 3000 points and saved addons

A 2-man SWF knows one of them cleansed one totem and the other cleansed two totems. They now know there are still three totems on the map.
The question is, how do they know this? SWF doesn't give you a totem counter like Small Game. SWF doesn't receive a notification when totems are cleansed.
They know this because they know, with nearly 100% certainty, that no other survivors have cleansed any totems, because survivors refuse to cleanse totems.
So if you say SWF has a totem counter, it's only because other survivors never bother to cleanse totems.
You are so wrong.
How do the swf members ever know if the solos don;t have totem challenge for instance? or if they just like cleansing totems? Your expression lacks too many variables.

I give you a better question:
Why can't killers see the wiggle progress bar? It's directly bound to the killers objective and several perks affect the progress.
Yet there is no visual indication on how much progress the survivor has left, before he breaks free.
Just be grateful that survivors get priority when it's about information related stuff and take small game if you want to know the exact amount.
"Just". A nice word indicating one's lack of empathy for the other side.
I agree Killers need to know how much wiggle progress Survivors have btw.
