I always camp on T-bagging survivors...honestly I don't even care about the rest, I even open the gates for them lol.
I always tunnel the crap out of t-baggers. Its fun with hag, just hook, place 6 traps around the hook, teleport to tunnel and rehook. Then I'll let the rest go if they weren't toxic.

It should be double for survivors and triple for killers every weekend until the new matchmaking and ranking systems take effect.

How is it legitimate? They have done it with 1k and 2k. If I’m the 4th kill, I get it, not really anything left to do. If the devs had it in the beginning with tutorials, then it makes a lot more sense why people do it. If a killer camps someone that is toxic, I get that too. As I said before, I am not toxic nor do I think I have the skill to be.
I play killer occasionally and the survivors in my matches are wayyyy better than me (I suck at killer most of the time) and I still refuse to camp because it defeats the purpose of the game.
I love this game for the fun matches I’ve played and I will continue to play, but seriously, try to make the game fun and not camp relentlessly.
It is legitimate because the creators of the game have publicly stated that is is legitimate.

I think you'll actually find I proposed survivor buffs instead of noed nerfs? And even a killer buff to compensate? I'm perfectly fine with noed having the counterplay of do the totems, but like you said it is the issue of teammates not doing literally anything all game.
There is literally no need to buff either side, doing so would probably just make the game worse. Best to wait and see how the new ranking and matchmaking works out before they implement any buffs to either side.

Like i said in my opening post, I use detectives hunch frequently in place of ds. Like I said, I use maps when I can, but I only have a limited amount, and when spreading bloodpoints across both sides, I run out of them fast.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1097937#Comment_1097937
I've literally also addressed this. I don't have time to NOT pump out gens solo, because teammates are ass, farm off of hook, waste all resources and STILL die in 3 seconds, whilst blendette is off on the corner cowering in fear, and the obligatory rank 20 Dwight is in the basement lockers. Yet I still try and do totems to get iner strength procs.
In swf, I do gens but significantly less so, and I do totems because I know other people do gens.
Did you even READ my post, mate? The entire point of this post is that noed makes solo hell whilst swf still have easy counters, and that if solo wasn't hell because of it, then people wouldn't complain about noed? Like, come on, please take off your "I SEE A NOED COMPLAINT SO THEREFORE SURVIVOR MAIN" glasses and read, I beg of you.
EDIT: here is my proof ive said that. The large wall of text that is 80% of my post. Have fun.
So your problem isn’t really NoEd or cleansing Hex Totems. Your problem is bad teammates. You should be asking the devs to improve matchmaking and ranking so you get paired up with players of the same skill as you, not for nerfing a Killer perk.
Go make multiple threads asking survivors to basically “git gud” as many of them like to put it.
-
The people that complain on the forums represent a small percentage of the player base. I don’t see the stuff you mention as much as people like to cry about it either.
Most of them come here because they didn’t win and it couldn’t possibly be their fault, that it was their opponents fault or the games fault and everything needs to be nerfed. Personal responsibility is a scary concept to many.

I only DC'd when I first started this game because I'm a big chicken and got matched against stealth killer after stealth killer. I just couldn't handle getting Ghostface after having multiple strokes so I DC'd and took a break from the game.

Michael's legs make him OP while vaulting and wearing his hospital gown.

You want to use his Wraithcar add-ons that allow him faster movement and vault speed. When you get in a chase, cloak up, cut off the Survivor and block their way to the pallet or window.
Or, play sneaky sneaky and use silent bell and see through wall add-ons.
He is very add-on dependent.

If we are being honest with ourselves, some of the biggest barriers to balance is the whiney community. There are many killers I see with really bad habits and lazy play styles that complain about gen run but zero in on one survivor the whole time. Then there are survivors who complain about killer's being OP but they run to dead zones, blow up gens, sandbag, train the killer onto nearly completed gens and otherwise play like potatoes.
Until the forums get over the us vs them mentality and starts pushing for true balancing for both sides of the game, it will continue to languish. All anyone here wants to see is the other side get nerfed, which only opens up a new can of worms.
I can't disagree with anything you've written. I don't think Killers and Survivors need any nerfs or buffs in general. Some things need a little reworking, but that is about it. Also, don't hold your breath waiting on the forums to change, it wont.
Also, David needs a speedo buff. We need to see more of his body 😘

Again, if they spend more time on totems, that is better for killers at large. Every bit of time not spent on a gen is good for us. If you rely on NOED, it might be a nerf to you. The threat of NOED and the carrot a counter perk gives to survivors to get off the gen and hunt totems is a good thing.
In all likelihood they would still ignore totems and would have absolutely no Avenue of crying.
I'm always looking at things to get survivors off of gens. The answer is not in nerfing survivor or killer, but in incentivizing new behavior. If they offered double BP for totems, I'd be good with that. It helps me as a killer.
I agree that the more time Survivors are off of generators the better, but it shouldn't be with a totem counter- that would just make things easier for them, which they definitely don't need. I'd rather they offer triple blood points for totems instead but increase the time to cleanse them.
As for balancing, it the maps that need to be reworked more than anything. Yea, some Killers need some fixing, but most of the problems Killers face is the lack of ability to pressure gens due to how large (stupid corn fields) the maps are.

You sir, clearly can't read. I've said a thousand times that NOED is fine. I've also said that a perk that gives survivors a totem counter will solve all solo survivor complaints about NOED.
You seem to think I'm a f'ing survivor, but I'm not. I even talk about using NOED in my builds.
Please, go slap your teacher for failing you.
You sir can't comprehend the fact that a totem counter isn't just a nerf to NoEd, it is a nerf to all Hex perks. Part of the reason that Hex Perks are effective is that they are an uncertainty and will make Survivors question whether or not they should cleanse totems- even if the Killer doesn't bring in a Hex. Take that uncertainty away and give Survivors an easy way to keep track of totems will all but guarantee that Killers will never be able to get any use from totems.
There is no reason to give a totem counter other than to make the game easier for survivors. Until the Devs completely overhaul the mechanics of the game and balance everything around top tire killers and swfs, there is no reason to include one.
Also, most complaints about NoEd aren't about the difficulty to find its totem, they're complaints because they don't want to be bothered with spending time looking for it or even thinking about it.

You clearly have not read anything I've written, or you have horrible reading comprehension. I never said that killers just stand there, unless they are face camping. I've never said NOED should be nerfed. I've actually argued against nerfing it. I've said that there should be a perk for survivors that let them have a totem count, just like we have with TotH.
What I also said is that I think basic use of NOED can develop a crutch mentality. If you are using it as a safety net vs fast gens, you are using it as a crutch. I'm not a great killer, and severely colorblind to where I have to hunt by movement on most maps, but I 4k in red ranks with no NOED just fine with Trapper. If I'm mediocre as killer and have no problem getting 3-4k without NOED, then it is clearly not needed to stop gen speeds. If you are using it for that, it is a crutch and you'll never get better at killer while using it. (I know, I used it as that in the beginning and eventually let it go...took the training wheels off.)
That said, NOED is a crucial part of end game builds. I do enjoy using it as is in those builds. I have several builds where NOED is a key part and I do enjoy running them from time to time.
So, recap:
- NO NOED nerf
- Solo survivors having a perk that gives a totem counter would be a good step for them and not unbalancing at all
- If you depend on NOED to counter gen speed, quit using it and get better
- NOED is a key part of many end game builds.
My reading comprehension is fine, I have read everything you wrote, all it is is just you whining about doing totems and not wanting to sacrifice the perk slot to counter NoEd while wanting to be buffed to swf levels. You just have an honesty problem. It is not about balance, it is about making the game easier for survivors. Why not ask to buff killers to counter swf first, and then buff solo survivors? Its because you want an easier time as a survivor.
A totem counter is a nerf to NoEd because it completely removes it's uncertainty. You are not supposed to be sure if you got all the totems until after it activates. You want to increase your odds of finding the totems, ask your teammates in chat to equip totem finding perks or maps - that would drastically increase your odds in finding all the totems.
You say Killers don't have to do anything to get kills with NoEd, but you are wrong. They have to chase Survivors and to hook them three times in order to kill them, but they have to do it with only three perks if they bring in NoEd. You getting caught and camped before NoEd activates doesn't make NoEd unbalanced or OP, it just means you are bad at looping or you made a bad mistake.
You shouldn't be getting caught before 2 gens are completed with how fast gens are repaired these days. Heck, by the time the Killer walks across the map, one generator should pop, unless they have corrupt intervention. By the time the first person is caught, your team should already be halfway through the third generator. At the very minimum, they should be starting the third generator while one looks for totems. So if a Killer catches you, your time on the hook should give your team enough time to finish the gens if they decide to camp you.
You as a Survivor are not entitled to have a Killer play the game they way you want them to. If they choose to camp and use NoEd, then all you have to do is improve your looping skills and bring in perks that discourage camping. You can also bring in keys to make sure you can escape with immersive game play.
Instead of asking the Devs to make the game easier for Survivors, ask the players to get better at the game.
-
You forgot the best one of all, Crowned Dwight.
-
If the Survivors are obviously out of your league, just pretend you’re trying and let them do gens. If they see you’re not trying they’ll take their time.
Once gens are done, rush to the nearest door and open it to five EGC.
You also have the option to protect the Basement Chest.

So it should be challenging for surviviors but not for the killer? Where is the balance? NOED, unkile Devour does not need ANY tokens, you can literally do NOTHING all game and still get NOED at its full power.
You should be able to use NOED only on surviviors that you have hooked before, just like Moris work now.
This would not stop NOED from being a challenge to surviviors, but it would require killer to do something other than camping one person for the whole game if the want their NOED. Why do you think noobs use NOED and not Devour Hope.
Also you are overreacting with the rotem counter. If both sides had it, Hex perks and NOED would become more reliable for killers (you can defend the last dull totem) and more reliable to find for SOLO surviviors, closing the gap between solo and SWF. So both sides benefit and we can nerf SWF. Thats a win for everyone.
You act as if the Killer just stands in place for the whole match and does nothing until NoEd activates. They don’t, they have to play the match with only 3 active perks vs 16 active Survivor perks. If the Killer didn’t work throughout the match, the Survivors would be able to open the gates and safely unhook any teammates that may have fallen to NoEd. The killer would still have had to hook people throughout the match in order to be able to kill everyone in endgame with NoEd.
Even if the Killer camped one survivor for the whole game, the remaining 3 should have no problem escaping when the gens are done. All they have to do is run DS and BT.
Killers use NoEd because games go by too fast for Devour Hope. A lit totem stands out more than a dull one. They usually get cleansed at the start of the match. When I run Devour Hope and get enough tokens to one hit down a player, it gets cleansed within 30 seconds to a minute.
And no, I am not over reacting in regards to the totem counter. Part of the risk of Hex Totems is the uncertainty of them for both roles. The Killer can’t be certain that NoEd could even last long enough to get one person. Survivors aren’t certain that they got all the totems, and have to risk spending a little time making sure they got them.
You say you want to close the gap between SWF and Solo, but if you were honest with yourself you would admit that it’s just a cop out. You just want NoEd nerfed because you feel entitled to survive if you managed to get all the generators completed. News flash, you’re not. The games not over until you cross the threshold. You’re not entitled to walking out risk free because you held M1 for most of the match.
Stop being lazy and entitled. All you have to do is sacrifice a perk slot for the same perk slot that Killers give up for most of the match. You also have the option for immersive play during endgame to make sure NoEd isn’t active or to find the totem. You just don’t want to.

Considering my killer que times on PC still suck, I don't think there has been a mass exodus of killers. I run into the same survivors over and over in matches, and wait way too long for matches, which tells me the ratio is still out of whack and there is proportionately more killers than survivors.
Killer is still the best way to grind BP and is waaaaay easier than it was 2 years ago. Heck, even a year ago.
There is lots of biased whining about a perceived survivor bias, but those whiners ignore the significant survivor nerfs over the past 2 years. It's nice not getting DS'd 4 times before your first hook. Or watching the survivor self care on the other side of the pallet because by the third one they are healed.
Yeah, killer is harder than survivor, but not that hard at all. 3I is still the average, possibly closer to 3.5k.
I play on PC and I get near instant matches when I play after 7PM central time. I instantly get matched on weekend nights.
I have to wait when I play survivor, but it’s not as long as the people on the forums make it out to be.

So, two perks and an ultra rare item in every match is the answer? Nice try.
Any of those alone can help, but you don't know how many are left out there. That is the point I'm making. Merely from a solo player's perspective. I run TotH for extra BP and I constantly see 1 to 2 totems left in groups of solos. Even if they run those perks. If we get a totem counter just to track the BP bonus, why not a perk that does the same but with larger implications for survivors.
Besides, anything that encourages survivors to get off gens and find the last totem or two is great. Slows the game down that much more. I only run NOED in end game builds, so it is pure benefit for most killers who don't run NOED.
Because it should be a challenge for survivors to find the totems that could completely shut down a Killers perk. Giving survivors a totem counter would just make it too easy. You’re not meant to be “sure” if you got all the totems, you’re supposed to be weary of them until you have confirmed that 5 totems have been destroyed.
Adding a totem counter would just make the already easy role in Dbd even easier. Should survivors glow a bright hot pink in order to let the killer know that they have DS or BT? All you really need to counter Hex Totems is Small Game or Detectives Hunch. You can also discuss cleansing totems in the pregame chat. You and your teammates can also equip Inner Strength.
Asking for a totem counter is just asking the Devs to nerf killers even more and to make the game easier for Survivors. You just don’t want to counter a Killers perk with one of your own perks.

Yeah, and Red Rank Killers get matched with lower Rank Survivors as well. It goes both ways. Like, there are a lot of Streamers in my area and since they changed the Matchmaking of SWF-groups, I almost never went against one of them. Even if they are playing at the same time like I do.
The only time where I got a Streamer I played against on a regular basis before was Lefti a few days ago. Other than that - none. And they did not stop playing Killer.
"The only way a Killer can get 4Ks is if the Survivors are bad."
If you are talking about low Rank Killers vs Red Rank Survivors, this might be true. In general - no, not at all.
Yea, red rank Killers would get matched against low rank survivors on Weekdays when there are less people playing overall, or when the survivors are in a mixed rank group. From what I understand, matchmaking may put red rank Killers against lower ranking Survivors if the Survivors were in queue for a while.
And yes, in general, Good Killers can only win against Good Survivors of equal skill only if the Survivors screw up. If the Killer makes a mistake, they get punished for it much more than Survivors do if they make a mistake.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
They did not stop. But you know, write a forum thread, join the circle jerk, get attention. And then, go to the next game of DBD where you will get 4Ks before you finally get into a game where you lose, to post this game on the DBD-Forum again.
The fact that so many low ranked Killers get matched against red ranked Survivors is proof enough that Red Rank Killers have stopped playing.
The only way a Killer can get 4Ks is if the Survivors are bad. So if you're complaining about that, then you must be really bad.

Survivor's power in the lobby is their ability to plan and communicate to each other before the match begins.
...Well, unless you play on console. Then your power instead is the ability to do 360 spins and make the killer whiff half the time because this game was not made with controllers in mind for killer.
No, Survivors are the power role in the whole game. If they don’t screw up, they can waste the killers time for the whole match. They also have many second chances to make up for their errors. If the killers screw up, the lose a lot of time and possibly the match. The only second chance perk killers really have is NoEd which is a perk that is completely controlled by survivors.
I used to think Killers were the power role, then I tried it out and found the truth.

Just don’t ignore any dull totems you come across, and make mental notes of the broken bones you do see.
It’s really not that hard.
They don’t want to count or search for totems. They just want an easy escape. Never mind that the maps are designed in favor of Survivors. It’s not enough that killers slow down when they vault or break a pallet. Nor is it enough that you can blind a killer and take them through loops that are placed near more loops which are designed to waste a killers time.
A Killer could play perfectly, but if the Survivor doesn’t screw up, there really isn’t any chance the killer would be able to catch them. Unless it’s a lucky Trapper or Nurse. But yea, let’s make the game easier for the already easy role.
Counting to 5 and equipping maps instead of toolboxes is hard.

"Go patrol gens, see one almost done look arouns it then move on(as long as its half way across the map and near no hooked survivors)
How is it dumb? Devour hope activates by hooking survivors and walking away from the hook. When they get u hooked, you get a token and then you can go right back to target the unhooker. You don’t even have to go that far from the hook to get the token. 4 tokens grant you the ability one hit down the Survivors. 5 tokens let you mori them. It is one of if not the best killer perk in the game when the totem is well hidden or if you’re able to protect it.
Its only dumb if you’re not able to chase and hook survivors 5 times.

I want Scorpion from Mortal Kombat as killer. He should be able to use his harpoons to catch and reel in Survivors!
I know it’ll never happen but it would be so nice to use at exit gates.
In all seriousness, I don’t really care either way, it’s just nice whenever developers introduce anything new to their game.
-
I was planning to write a similar thread but you beat me to it. My OCD goes crazy when I see all the crap I have that I don’t use. Let me sell them back!!!!!!!!!

Man, you are a camper, baby killer, tunneler, noob, or trash can for anything you do. You just need to grow thick skin and do what you have to in order to win.
Even if camping is all you could do because EGC is active and you only have one kill, how dare you try to make sure they die. It’s why I like Trapper. Trap the crap out of the exit gates at the start. Place a trap at each switch, and a trap in every path that leads to the doors.
They will expect the switch traps but not the ones on the way to them. Another fun thing is to run Devour Hope with the trap add on that hurts them if they try to disarm the trap. Trap the Hex totem, and all around it. Don’t let them cleanse the totem, always reset the traps when you hear them disarm them and scream.
The will lose their minds when you start one shot downing them. The salt you get would be glorious. They can’t say you camped because you have to leave the hooks in order for Devour Hope to activate.
Another fun thing is to use had and just place all 10 traps around the hooked survivor. Hearing them scream over and over is hilarious.
You have to make your own fun, don’t let the after game chat salt ruin it for you. Instead, your goal should be to consume all the salt they throw at you!
-
I love it when a Survivor is stupid and thinks they’re close enough to the exit line when they’re really not and I down them. I’ll carry them in and drop them on the ground to let them squirm and have the entity impale them(if the egc timer is short enough).
Had it happen today and the dead survivor started some salt spraying in chat. To my amazement, their own teammate came to my defense before I could say anything and chastised them for standing at the exit to gloat. There really are some good survivors out there!
I do wish killers could get a one time ability every match where they could rope in a t-bagging survivor by impaling them with a harpoon such as Scorpion from Mortal Kombat.

Doubt it.
Also have fun finding them all on Lery's/Hawkins without a Map, Small Game or Detective's Hunch to prevent NOED while someone is getting camped.
People don't mind the exposed part of the perk. What people want is a requirement from the Killer to activate it. Could be anything, really. I just hate how this perk rewards those that chase/tunnel one survivor the whole game.
The killer has 4 perk slots and gives one up for most of the match to have a slight chance of NoEd to activate. A group of Survivors have a total of 16 perk slots. One of them could surely afford to use Detectives Hutch or Small Game. Heck, you don’t even have to use a perk, something called a “Map” exists:
The requirement of the Killer is for the Killer to have a more difficult match by playing with only 3 perks. Anyone who complains about NoEd is just a lazy player or a really bad one. It isn’t hard to look for totems. Instead of bringing in multiple toolboxes, bring in a map or two.

It’s not the killers fault that you’re getting unhooked right in front of him. You’re just entitled, I hope the DC bans get long enough for you to stop playing.
