  • Trapper is reworked into the Bomber, his power allows him to arm a nuclear device that will detonate within 2 minutes, the survivors cannot disarm this, on detonation a nuclear explosion goes off killing all survivors on the map.

Probably too strong/impactful of an effect to put on a passive perk.

Not really, if a gen is not making any noise, but the killer can clearly see that the generator is active, then they're going to know someone is working on it. The whole idea with the buffs we're suggesting is to turn it into a stealth perk so the Killer might not check the particular gen you're working on. Making it a really useful perk for indoor maps. That's why it would need to be a shared perk in order to work, otherwise another survivor will start working on it, discordance goes off, or they fail a skillcheck and it's all over.

  • Making changes such as these to survivor perks will also help close the gap between solo and SWF

Which is a good thing. Randos need perks to help them be more organized.

  • You're not talking about the haybale next to the vault on the combine right? The killer can get on there.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

If they have no skill at all they shouldn't be catching you. Bad killers get looped non stop. Bad killers get hit by DS. Bad killers waste half the match chasing a BT meg that teabagged them once. I've been playing killer and survivor solo in red ranks for 3 years at this point. I have a fairly decently informed view on what I'm talking about.

That's true, if a survivor teabags, they're doing it because they want you to chase them and are probably the strongest survivor in regards of wasting the killers time, so chasing them for too long is just throwing the game, they might catch the survivor after the 4th gen popped and think they're punishing the survivor by camping, but that's what they wanted in the end, the killer has no choice but to camp and secure a kill, that's not a win. Have to play smarter and wise up to survivor tricks, get rid of pallets, avoid god loops, take out the weakest links, try and defend a 3 gen set up, etc.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I would make this perk 100% remove the gen explosion from missed skill checks. If it's going to be a niche beginner perk, it should at least be effective in its niche. I would also support making the repair noise distance reduction shared, but that effect is insignificant as CookieBaws correctly pointed out.

I agree with that, these changes might not make the perk compete with meta perks, but it'll make this perk good at what it's suppose to do, and I think that's the important thing here. Besides, a lot of survivor perks are not even given a second look, so it'd be nice to see the forgotten perks given some love and I don't think Killers would complain dealing with a stronger Technician if it means one less meta perk, like DS.

I think that the main purpose of this perk is to give newer players some break if they don't hit the skill checks every time, making it a stealth perk isn't a bad idea tho, I'm just pointing out that BBQ can be countered really easily.

Also just to point out, if I'm not mistaken, there is only BBQ that can reveal Survivors working on a Generator. (But maybe I'm wrong)

There's actually a lot of aura reading perks/add ons, but in regards to gens, aside for BBQ there's Gear Head which will turn the generator aura yellow whenever a survivor hits a good skillcheck, and discordance will turn the gen aura yellow if there's two or more survivors working on it.

That's why I was thinking it might be a really nice touch if Technician blocked aura reading when a survivor is working on a gen, making it a stealth perk and giving it real use.

Like if bbq didn't have around 6 counters already...

Well, my thinking is this, it's a stealth perk, it has no other function than to be stealthy, and unfortunately it doesn't really achieve what it sets out to do. This perk needs a buff in functionality. Gens should make less noise with this perk and it should be a shared perk so other survivors on the same gen don't make a racket, and given that this is a stealth perk it makes sense to me that it blocks aura reading abilities, BBQ is not the only thing that has aura reading abilitiy, there's plenty of killer add ons that do it too.

It would give survivors a meaningful stealth option if they made this change.

  • VKQ73IWNH91J.png 9877B8P6DP23.png

That's wrong, the 4man survival rate is about 50%, and 4 man SWF's are extremely rare. Here are the stats

  • Playing against Blights I can say you get a Killer who is trash at Blight, and then you get the Blights who know what they're doing and are a terror to the survivors because of how much map pressure they dish out, their power is like a cross between Nurses and Billys except they have to pin ball to connect hits.

I won 5 games in a row against red and purple ranks without perk and with Legion.. I think I know how to play ! But I still remind you that you didn't know about the BBQ and the lockers...🀣

Ohhh yes, insta heal exist, I touched a survivor he was wounded, he jumped a pallet and instantly heal !

DS doesnt work ? We're not talking about the same thing.

Okay, I'm going to stop here. Bye sir

    I don't believe you tbh.

You've lost it, I did know about the lockers and BBQ, I told you Iron Maiden counters lockers, or did you forget about that already?

There is no insta heal add ons, they were removed in a previous patch, the closet thing survivors have to an insta heal add on is the Styptic Agent which grants the endurance effect for 8 seconds. It was a nerf because it can no longer pick up dying survivors instantly.

DS does NOT work on Make Your Choice, that's the whole point of Make Your Choice, DS is only active once you've been unhooked, the rescuer is the one who suffers from exposed, if you're tunneling the person who was rescued and eating a DS stun then that's totally on you.

Not easy ? When a survivor is on the ground just go to the nearest locker...

I used Legion's perk before, but it doesn't work against red ranks, because they know loop.. they really want you to chase them away !

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1609545#Comment_1609545

Mori ? This kind of game shouldn't even need mori, we should be able to kill the survivors... It would deter SWF !

    BBQ ? I explained

Nurse calling ? 28 meters, Spine chill + Terror radius = stop heal

Dragon's grip ? Finish the generator in the nose of the killer, you find it logical in a horror game ? They are not afraid of the killer = it's not a horror game = it's a frustrating game !

Haunted ground ? We all know how "Ruin" perks finish..

Pink one shoort ? Like addon instant heal?

Stridor ? Bugged for me !

Tinkerer ? Even with a good pressure the generators finish in less than 5 minutes.. so this perk is useless with SWF.

Spirit fury ? Loop, loop, windows, loop, windows, loop.. reloop...

Blood favor ? Loops, infinite loop again.. now it's finish

Noed ? Oh yes, the perk that allows to finish the game with two kills maximum ? The easy perk destroyed against SWF, the kind of team that destroys all the totems on the map and prevents NOED from working...

Make your choice ? DS, and more others perks....

Without his perks have lost match after match... We depend on addons, because of many nerves....πŸ˜‘

You sound like a really bad killer if you can't effectively utilize some of the killers most powerful perks, it's no wonder you think a non meta survivor perk should be nerfed.

Also survivors "insta" heal add ons don't exist anymore.

DS doesn't work on Make Your Choice either.

Uh, yours as well, because BBQ can be countered by the lockers, sir. All players, even beginners, know this....Legion power can counter the lockers, yes but he need...πŸ€—

The Doctor... against a high level team the Doctor is useless. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. And of course I'm not for the Doctor, I find him a little too annoying because of the ray of terror.

Lockers are not always readily available, and a killer can counter lockers with Iron Maiden so they suffer from exposed and scream when they use it. Making lockers useless. Killers can also run whispers which has absolutely no counter, which on a doctor is annoying since he can flush you out with his static shock.

Survivors have a perk that just so happens to counter your main killer, it's not a big deal and it should not be nerfed just because you don't like it. That's not how balance works.

Do we know each other ? Maybe I was there at the beginning, who knows..

Once again, a stealth killer is a surprise killer.. this perk ruins the surprise, and is rightly "a problem perk".

Have a good day sir πŸ€—

You definitely never played in 2016. Do you have any legacy clothing? Probably not.

If a survivors perk that counters "stealth" a problem, then why aren't the perks like BBQ that counter survivors stealth a problem? The doctor pretty much destroys stealth play too. Your opinion is really biased tbh.

  • You never played DBD in 2016, survivors could fast vault at any angle, more windows were open, and intiating a vault there was a vacuum that pulled the survivor to the window, gaining distance, which oftened made the killer miss. These were quote on quote "problems" A perk working as intended is not a problem and it's certainly not OP either, anyone who remembers the original DS would tell you that.

Here's a clip of what DBD was like in 2016 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1fkX3H84SE

  • I'll tell you what, you can get rid of the 6% vault speed, if we can get fast vaults back from any angle, and vault vacuums back too.

  • You're complaining about Spine Chills speed buff with vaults? It's only 6%, it's negligible at best. The perks main advantage is information.

  • Just had another idea, this perk would be fantastic if it was a shared perk AND it blocked the killers aura reading abilitys when a survivor is on a gen. it would make it a stealth perk that counters Discordance, Surveillance, Gearhead, and BBQ, giving it some real use. It's not going to compete with the meta perks, but it would offer some real value.

When I saw survivors stuck there, I downed them, picked them up (sometimes getting stuck myself, which required attacking while carrying to free myself), and then let them wiggle free. I'd then walk away and patrol gens as if it hadn't happened.

That was good of you, most killers didn't do that and took advantage of survivors being stuck there, completely ignored us and tunneled the unstuck survivors, horrible games.

Be happy: you have the only survivor that can speak. And with such a groovy voice.

Idc about that, I'm a Dwight main, besides survivors are just skins.

  • Ghostface is a weird one, I saw a ghost face stalking me, and I ran right up to and crouched in front of him, staring at his face, and he still got his stalk off and one shot me. It was the start of the match, and we saw each other, and I thought I might as well meme, and besides I'd rather take a hit than be exposed, but nope, even when you're staring at him, directly in front of him, he will still get his stalk off.

He is easy to reveal my ass.

  • @Pior_Morte said:

I honestly think it got buffed, now it can tank a hit even when you are exposed, however you can't lift someone of the ground anymore.

It's true endurance can tank a exposed hit, but In my case, I was in a chase and popped it, and in those 8 seconds the killer didn't hit me, they didn't see me use it either, so I got no use out of it. the 8 seconds is too short. I don't know how I could have timed it any better.

Well it is absolutely irritating and should just be pure RNG if they're going to shove RNG down our throats.

I agree, I only want to see the same perk again if I bought it.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

Why not randomise the perks? Every game I play as either Survivor or Killer I use DBD Randomizer for all my perks, add-ons and offerings, which allows me to play in different ways each round and learn how best I can utilise perks.

I've overcome rank ones on both sides with perks nothing like the meta, so it can be done. It's just choosing where the strengths are.

I usually try and create builds that have synergy with each other, like DH, WGLF. Aftercare, and I want to say MoM but that perk is garbage, I never get any real use out of it in trials. Another build I tried was No Mither, Resilience, DH and Prove Thyself, you'll be a terror to gens with that one. Though I have to say, DH isn't that great, half the time I use it, it won't proc, other times it doesn't help me at all. Weird perk to use.

  • That's the reason why they're the meta perks, a lot of survivor perks really don't help you survive a trial, and are mostly just for the memes. Now sure they might help other survivors or give you access to some cool/useful things, but they don't really help you survive, and in a survival horror game, the perks that will help you survive the trial will always reign king.

By no means do I want to see the meta perks nerfed, but it'd be great if survivors would get some cool new perks, I'm not exactly fond of running the same old all the time too, but I want to survive the trial. Killers really have access to some good perks, survivors not so much.

  • The Dream Pallets will stun Freddy, and be unbreakable, they will also summon Jason and Freddy will be forced to fight Jason so the survivors can focus on escaping.

  • @Folklore said:

DS needs a buff, anything else is unacceptable.

Agreed tbh. Not to mention most non meta survivor perks.

  • They really made this perk trash tier because the mechanic required to get stacks is utterly broken.

NGL I regret buying Ashe. Too bad I can't get a refund.

  • BT is fine, the posts before me explained why just fine.

Adrenaline is an end game one time use perk, very situational, it should be strong because of the conditions placed upon it. Besides if you don't like Adrenaline bring NOED, it's a hard counter to it and far stronger than Adrenaline. You could also play any killer that can one shot survivors,

Not to mention that if you're able to kill all the survivors before the 5th gen pops you won't even see it come into play. For that reason, don't touch Adrenaline. It's good where it's at.

  • Myers already has strong add ons that buff everything you mentioned, aside for the being able to kill survivors when they vault.

This isn't really needed. The buffs to tier 1 would be horrendous for anyone vsing Jump Scare Myers on Lerys.

  • Protection hits are kind of broken, the old MoM may have been OP, but it was straightforward to use, if you take a hit from m1 you get a stack, MoM was weak to killers with powers but strong against m1 killers.

Point being you didn't have to radically alter how you played to get stacks, you just played the game, but with the new MoM you have to go out of your way and force yourself to get injured to get a stack, and sometimes you take a hit for a survivor and don't even get a stack.

At least with unhooking it would be consistent, and wouldn't force you to change the way you play, I don't think it'd be OP because if one survivor is hooked 3 times they die.

I wish they'd fix it, I'd love to run MoM as a replacement for No Mither, it actually allows you to take a hit while injured, so the perks on injured have real synergy with it.

Getting stuck in the same spot multiple times is a bit silly.

That hill can spawn next to jungle gyms and such, or maybe you're using BL, so you hug the hill to save distance and then bam, you're stuck.

  • I hope they fix it soon, just had a game where two players, including myself got trapped in the spot, and the clown completely ignored us and tunneled the other two players. I don't blame Ming from disconnecting. I somehow was able to get out when the slugged Nea crawled over to me for a heal so we were able to get out, but yeah, reported that guy for exploiting that bug. Real shame.

Honestly I could see Deja Vu being a decent solo queue perk to prevent accidental 3 gens if it were permanent. Lucky break just isn't remotely useful with a timer. Yeah, paired with Iron Will it could potentially be very strong on stealthy players but at that point their dedicating half their perks to the hope that they might be able to hide if they break LOS.

I loved fixated it was amazing at quick stealth jukes but I realised very quickly that it wasn't that great because of the Healthy part.

Nah, Deja Vu has always been terrible, if you want to prevent 3 gens have map awareness or bring a map or detectives hunch, or both.

I agree with most of you said, just about Wraith I disagree, because of his time getting out of invisibility, and because of it he's still a M1 killer in general.

That's why most Wraiths run NOED/Devour Hope, they also get a boost when they exit their cloak so they typically will gain the ground they lost de-cloaking quickly, especially with good add ons. Wraith is an add on dependent killer though.

  • @IshinSolarc said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1602011#Comment_1602011

Then just present proof of how to pressure all gens against SWF "meta perks" survivors, while the killer is either Clown, Trapper and Wraith.

    You gotta prove your point.

Wraith and Trapper have good map pressure, Trappers typically pick their side of the map and trap it up, they usually go for 3 gen set ups, this gives them strong snowball potential, but they only really shine late game. Wraith has the fastest movement speed and can sneak up on survivors and ambush them, the only survivors that are going to beat a wraith are ones who know how to loop effectively to waste his time.

The clown may not have map pressure but he shuts down loops easily and can end chases quickly, so as long as he is able to catch survivors he'll be putting the pressure on them.

  • @skarsguts said:

I love how killers say "just do bones" in response to survivors complaining about things such as NOED, but when a perfectly healthy addition such as a simple totem counter is brought to discussion, they scream that it would be a counter and nerf to totems.

I want a totem counter as well.

The hypocrisy here is palpable. When Survivors did do bones, Killers complained and wanted the bones to be hid better, and after the change they now boast to survivors they should do bones when they're a lot harder to find, especially in solo.

So this would be a nice QOL change for solo survivors, and besides, going by what killers say in response to perks like NOED being "Just do bones" well, with this change we'd be following their advice so they really can't complain about this.

  • I don't know about pallet vaulting, we already have a legion, sounds like he plays something like the Spirits ult, it's an interesting idea that sounds fun to play if the Devs can do it right.

  • @EntitledMyersMain said:

I think poised should receive a buff that gives you a speed boost and longer duration AND no exhaustion, but it's an activatable perk that recharges only when a generator is completed.

How has it been nerfed again? I thought the l last change made it more usable for multiple survivors running it simultaneously and removed the pick up and drop counterplay?

The original DS wasn't an obsession perk so it was usable by all players, and it would activate whenever the killer picked up the survivor, the survivor could choose not to use the perk and save it for later, it was great and became one of the meta perks.

  • @cyniChris said:

It just needs decreasing to 30 seconds and pause during a chase. If you're not being chased 30 seconds after being unhooked, you're not being tunnelled. Having it deactivate when a survivor jumps in a locker wouldn't be a bad idea, either. The only problems with current DS are the ways survivors abuse it (jumping in lockers, running directly into the killer with it active, taking Unbreakable alongside it so the killer can't do anything about it) and the fact that a killer can hook several other survivors and still get hit by it.

Oh and as this topic has turned into "But what about NOED?" - DO BONES. 80 seconds worth of totem cleansing isn't too much to ask.

The reason why I mentioned NOED, is because we get it, Killers don't like DS, and survivors don't like NOED, but both are in the game. There are things survivors and killers don't like but are in the game, I don't see NOED being removed from the game or being nerfed any further, so you shouldn't expected it of DS. Just got to deal with it. DS does have counter play, just got to play smart.

You must use his addons for be.. not strong, but playable against this kind of team.πŸ€—

The first killer on DBD (i think) and he cant be balanced..

Trapper is a noob stomper, but the basic tricks won't work in red ranks, so Trappers need to use the add ons, because the survivors, nevermind the SWF's, have seen those tricks before and generally know what to expect unless they play brain dead.

The way he usually plays is he has a weak early game but can have a strong late game as he has snowball potential, depending how clever he uses his traps and where he places them.

However, As Golden Spider said, if you're dealing with Object of Obsession in a SWF, you're going to have a bad time.

  • Use his add ons? His basic kit is weak in red ranks.

  • @ItzNobody said:

@Avarice10 Not a bad argument there, but maybe test the waters first with a ptb. I like your idea but perhaps the community might think it is too much, so it's probably better to test it first. That is, if it does receive a change in the future.

    Fingers crossed 🀞

I think for the most part it'll be fine, given it's an RNG condition with generators, technically they could even allow being unhooked, or unhooking activate it as well, as a replacement to the random generator condition, but the activation on stun is definitely a great idea, the survivor will generally determine how they'll get use out of it instead of it being RNG or circumstance.
