You really need to watch Candyman.
He's a slasher with the ability to direct wasps. That would be unique and fun. He's got an iconic weapon, look and power all sorted.
The only issue with Chucky is his size, but there are creative ways around that limitation, such as hooks that move for him, the ability to stake people to the floor for a sacrificial ritual to the entity (could work very similar to PH cages.) Also his voodoo practicioner background makes adding him to the lore a snap (the entity was the voodoo god he was worshipping the whole time)
Fnaf are animatronics, not terminators, I broke one at chucky cheese on accident when I was 10, no reason they can't be in. Also they eat souls, or have children's souls or something which could tie into the lore easily (entity makes a deal with the souls for revenge)
The RE villains... Any of the old school BOWs would be a harder sell, it's tough to see the tyrant that took a rocket to the chest in RE stopped by a pallet, but the vampire clan from the new game is unknown. There also may be werewolves in the new RE, maybe one of those would fit better?
-
I try to focus on hooks, focusing on kills makes me play toxically, so I only do so when I feel it's warranted. Once the gens are done though, I'm killing as much as possible

I envy you. Killers in my region are so boring that almost everyone only play freddy. I prefer an insidious camping bubba than seeing freddy everywhere that sometimes even have noed 🤣
My favorite to play as and against is doctor, I just think the mechanics are fun. I don't see him very often at all. People sleep on how effective he is (pun intended)

Then tell me why you see Freddy repeatedly like if he was inside an envelope of old trading cards.
I see hag and bubba far more often than I do Freddy, hell, I see pig more than I do Freddy.

I was just giving an example because you were defending this Claudette saying she was probably doing gens and such. She isn’t the first one I’ve seen pull this kinda stuff.
Where did I say that? I shared my own experience playing as Claudette and observed that any survivor who is acting as you described will find themselves in the potato ranks where they belong soon enough. Neither of that is defending or claiming anyone was doing anything.
-
Have you tried playing as spirit? It seems you have some misunderstanding of her mechanics and weaknesses, so it may help to play 10-15 games as her to get a good feel for it. That's what I do when I find a killer who constantly owns me as a survivor.

Anytime one of us was hooked I saw this Claudette crouch walking everywhere never working on a gen. She was constantly searching for the hatch. Cause the minute I got hooked I watched her run straight to it, open it with a key, and peel out. That was her plan all along. Just escape through hatch.
So already we've gone from 95% of claudettes to one specific player? Yeah, trash players pick every character on both sides. It's better once you work your way out of the mid ranks.
-
1. Rank 9 is about mid-level. There are 20 ranks, so it's almost smack dab in the middle. Getting rank 9 is as easy as playing 3-4 times a week with an average pip rate.
2. In my experience playing Claudette I tend to find people like to assume what I have or haven't done. They'll see me right next to a broken totem, or newly finished gen and still assume I just watched some mystery 5th survivor do it. I'll unhook them and try to lead them to safety, and instead they'll run right into the hag traps because they think crouch walking is cowardly. Then they'll blame me, when they were the ones who were on the hook to see the traps placed.
3. If any of these Claudette players really did nothing but hide and wait for the hatch, they are de-pipping every match even before the rank bugs, so they're literally taking themselves back to the kiddie table. It's a self solving problem.

looping was not meant for this game, this game was normally a hide and seek game and they never updated the tutorial for looping.
but I'm not great at looper and still win most matches(in solo Q)
It may not have been originally meant, but it's definitely core survivor gameplay now. Even though I also suck at it, lol.
-
I thought this would be about the survivors who spend half a match jumping in and out of a locker trying to get you away from gens to chase them.

Low ranks the killer seems unbeatable, you start off as a survivor with very little understanding of your perks, so even if your first surv is someone who has DS, or lithe or Dead Hard, you aren't good enough to use them correctly yet. Add to that the complete lack of map knowledge, which each side has, but killers start off with a small advantage in that they know where the gens are. For new players that bit of knowledge is huge.
High ranks you get a lot of swf squads who know the maps inside and out and are in constant communication, so even if they aren't running meta perks, they have a strong leg up, solo you still have much greater map knowledge and an appreciation for how easy it is to juke a killer's m1 strike. So it starts to feel more survivor sided.
Just to add to this, the tutorials for new players are crap. Been trying to get my wife to play, so I had her do the tutorials for both. The one for survivor only teaches how to fix gens, unhook people and hide. No consideration to looping, so most new survivors won't understand it.
The killer one has scratches, pools and hooking, but not hook states or anything other than m1, so we end up with a lot of new Killers that just m1, no matter who they play. Luckily for them, if they go with the one they use in the tutorial, they get trapper, who has probably the easiest to understand powers in the game.

Lmfao that's a new term I heard for DBD. Actually sounds good. Although I think you should use 'Döner' for that instance, because that's what you're talking about. Döner is the meat that spins in the air and butchers cut off pieces of it and place it into a wrap with other ingredients, so it makes more sense to say it than kebab. But kebab also works, basically means the same thing.
I have legitimately wondered what that was called for the last 30 years of my life (ever since being introduced to greek food as a kid), so thank you, didn't expect I'd learn that here.

It's a good idea, but it won't happen since Friday the 13th uses the exact same concept (I'm assuming this is where your idea came from). It's be unique but I doubt they'd copy a mechanic from another game.
Why not, they already took the killer, just gimped him and changed his mask. Even use the same bear traps.

So.. a 5 second stun instead of a 2?
Breaking the pallet only takes 2.6 seconds, so it seems kinda redundant.
The timing may need to be tweaked, but the idea of the pallets just being one time use appeals to me

Killers are cry babies. They complain a lot. This is the reason this game it's not fun anymore. Devs are stressed out by how much killers are complaining about everything, and devs decided to make the game easier for them and harder for survivors. If the killer don't make 4k he/she starts to cry on this forum.
I really hope the irony is intentional, otherwise I'd just worry for your sanity.

Ahh, you kids today with your ratings. Back in my day the ESRB was still Tipper Gore's fantasy, and my mother would purchase her darling boy any game, believing all video games must be meant for kids. Did it mess me up? Look I'm not the one on trial here!
Seriously though, given how many sales are digital now, as long as they have access to their parents card, they're going to get the game, without so much as a teenaged store clerk to get in the way. While I would like to believe any child playing has their parents permission, I also remember back when I was a kid and my parent's permission was never a priority for my actions. (Also everything is in black and white, but I'm not going to worry about that now)
That's why when I get a badly spelled message after a game, I just reply with a simple "Have a nice day". I don't feel like teaching the youth new profanity they haven't discovered on their own yet.
-
The best killers to face are Freddy, Hag, spirit and nurse. They are the ones that feel consistently scary and actually get the blood pumping. If I didn't want to be scared from time to time as a survivor, I would just go back to Overwatch.

Wow you're trying so hard to make your opinion true in most if not all multiplayer games you all get the same advantages in dbd the killer gets most of the advantages, stop it
Wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that it's a 1v4 game? You want the killer to be balanced to a single survivor, but that would mean every game would be too easy for survivors and wouldn't be any fun for anyone. The killer should be stronger than any 1 survivor, otherwise we may as well make it 1v1.

Yes. Same as any other multiplayer game where you are on a team (and literally all team sports as well) if your team is trash, you'll likely lose. Losing isn't fun, so you'll be unhappy. There is no amount of buffs or nerfs to any side that will change that.

It seems like the same every time you get down to three or two gens killer knows all the locations to the gens, I don't think its that hard for a killer to look around to find gens like survivors do especially with bbq I've played the same type of game multiple times today very irritating
The killer starts off knowing where every gen is. They're highlighted in red. Do you ever play killer?

Lol I don't understand why some survivors do it. And doctor as well haha I mean stealthing against the doctor is hard but blatant running at him is asking for major trouble! Its when they're like flies around you hovering about i love it- non of them are doing gens so they're not making progress. If you don't do objective it may take some time but you will be downed and hooked
They didn't even have flashlights or try to run me into a pallet, those would have at least worked out a little better. But right above the basement when I've already broken the shack pallet? May as well wait downstairs and pick out a favorite hook

Have to agree, as killer when I down a survivor and then i see all 3 of the rest coming towards me to pick up/unhook its Christmas come early
Just slugged 3 as the doctor due to those kind of tactics. Only one player actually decided to treat the killer as a threat, 2 others got slugged trying to get my to drop their friend. Iron grip ftw.

So if you get unhooked next to a 90% complete gen that's regressing and don't hear a terror radius you're going to flee from that gen? When you and the unhooker could finish it in a few seconds? And then you're going to come here and call me a noob for banging it out? Sound stupid?
Again, according to your own first post, when you do that, you get hooked. So yeah, if you keep getting hooked by doing the same thing, but still keep doing it, that's probably an issue on your end, not the killer who is taking advantage of you making yourself so much easier to find.
If you had come here claiming it always worked that would be one thing, but you came here specifically complaining that it doesn't, especially against stealth killers (you know, killers who have ways to stop their terror radius from being heard). Your first post was complaining that you were being "camped and tunneled" by stealth killers having the temerity to check the hook and see if you were right there, the rest has been you desperately trying to pretend that's not your fault.
But in the end, what do I care? I'm only likely to meet you in game while playing killer, and as you've made plain here, that means I'll only need to chase you down and hook you once, and you'll just give up the other hooks for free thanks to having the tactical mind of a root vegetable. So please, forget I said anything and just keep doing you.

Thats a weird definition. My definition would be if a killer goes out of their way to try and hook the same survivor. Getting hooked twice fast can happen without tunneling imo. Either through the killer doing well with snowballing, or idiotic decisions from the survivors. Like farming or not lasting long enough in chases to get back to the first guy
Always nice to see other sane players
:)
I hope you have a wonderful evening
-
@TruffleTurtle said:
I always see a bunch of people complain about tunneling and camping but like I feel like i never encounter those things. Im not devaluing anybody's experience in the game, I'm just saying through mine, I never see it. Only time somebody camps in my match is end game which I don't blame them for and tunneling is not as rare but not very common
Seems a lot of people here have varied definitions for the terms. For a not insignificant number, tunneling is any time they are hooked twice, and camping is the killer remaining on that half of the map after hooking. Under those definitions, you'll see it a lot more often.

Oh you're one of those guys that goes and heals in the corner and everyone hates to play with I guess? Or more likely just a strictly killer player that wants any advantage they can get? I'm not afraid of killers, so i will always jump on that gen, you go hide in the corner and lose the gen lol. Gg.
No, I'm just not one of those who uses the same losing strategy as you have stated, then runs to the forums when that losing strategy loses. Remember, this whole conversation started with you complaining that your "brave, high level" tactics kept getting you rehooked. Don't worry though, I'm sure the hook is very impressed with your courage when you are put right back on it.
-
I like the corn. Survivors think they are safely hiding, and it's easy to spring up on them. Makes me laugh every time
-
Definitely some frustration on both sides with the hitboxes. I swear the one on my survivor is 20ft by 20ft, but when playing killer I can watch my weapon tousle their hair gently as they scamper off into the forest.
-
Huh?
I just steamrolled 3 games in a row with his shocky joy, one of which was an swf. What are you experiencing? The pallet vacuum is weird, and there were several times where I swear they were shocked in perfect time to stop the pallet stun and still got it off, but those are lag/sync issues everyone who plays is having at the moment, nothing specific to doc.

Yup if I got a gen right next to me 90% done I'm jumping on it, maybe it's you that needs a lesson in high tier play?
So now the gen is 90% done, making it even more of a priority for the killer to return to?
Maybe pvp isn't your thing.

Oh you mean like rank 1? Because I get to rank 1 every reset. Give me a break. The sweaty killers I face daily, on the west coast which is way sweatier than east coast, almost always return to the hook. They don't always tunnel but a lot of them do.
So you know it's likely they'll come back to the hook, and still don't leave the area after being unhooked? I don't think you are helping your case as much as you think you are.
-
How weird would that be, you're sitting at a campfire in terrifying darkness already, then you come out and see yourself. No wonder so many new survivors don't play well as a team. :)
-
@jester20k said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1942886#Comment_1942886
Not true at all, you can get unhooked and jump on a gen right next to you with the unhooker, and within 2 seconds a stealth or m&a killer can return to the hook and tunnel you. Because you jumped on a gen for 0.5 seconds does not mean you are safe from tunneling at all. Hell the way its being considered, you can run half across the map with tier 3 madness, not aware that you're being distantly chased by the doctor, try and break out of madness, and he can come around a tree and whack you. Tunneled, no ds.
So you get unhooked, don't bother trying to heal, don't try to go anywhere away from where the killer just got a notification that you are, and decide to jump on the generator right at the hook you know he's going to come check, so when you are found, you expect what, to just be allowed to finish the gen? No, you're gonna get smacked, since you didn't heal, you'll go down, and since the objective is to put downed people on hooks, you're going back on the same hook you should have had sense to run away from the first time you got free.
-
There is a good anti-tunnel perk already. It's called Decisive Strike, and is a teachable from Laurie Straud (may have the spelling wrong) if you haven't already, I would suggest picking up the Halloween chapter to get her (also Myers, who is a fun killer to play)

I'd prefer to have a name cut off than having it go towards the center of the screen but ok, I just hope they find a better version of it

It's a step in the right direction, but survivors portraits are taking up too much space when they are stacked vertically
Unfortunately they're not going to do the survivor icons any other way. Apparently horizontal at the bottom it's too easy for the names to be cut off, which they can't have.
-

Why do they insist on having the survivor information going upward? Get it out of the way, it's blocking valuable screen. Also I hope they realize how painfully small hook timers are currently.
Because horizontally the names kept getting cut off
-
Why do you believe that the killer shouldn't have an edge in this 1v1 situation? It's a 4v1 game, so yes, in that 1v1 situation the killer gets you, then you have 3 teammates to save you while she has just herself.
