66% of a killer's objective would be 2 Survivors dead and one on death hook. One survivor on death hook is like 15% of the killer's objective
hooking people 3 times -> hooking people once and immediately hitting them off of the unhook and Mori. Do the maths.

I just started playing a month ago and stuck to survivor until recently. Now I main Susie and get put up against rank 5 and below survivors at a rate of 1 out of every 3 games and I'm only rank 19. Doesn't help that I'm colorblind and everyone is toxic with flashlights. I never camp or tunnel unless survivors decide to be toxic and mend in my face etc. but man is it tempting with this crap.
So mending in front of a Legion's face is toxic now?
Entitled killers never fail to surprise me. Why wouldn't they mend in front of your face if you're just going to run away and inflict deep wounds elsewhere? lmao

Yeah, ok. My bad. I thought you wanna point out something different. With that, we are back at the point where I said "do you know how good the killer is, when the offering is burnt". And where you said you mentally log off, in my opinion kinda throwing the game. If you don't try. But I guess that is a loop that doesn't get to an end.
If I am at red ranks, I am going to assume the Killer is somewhat good unless matchmaking has screwed the killer. Regardless, it's very easy to tell if they're good pretty much on the first chase interaction alone. It doesn't take long to figure it out.

Not sure where you talk about competent killers. Pls quote. I just saw you saying that bad killers get ez 4k and only even worse killers can be outplayed
If you go against a competent Killer with amazing add-ons + an ebony mori, you lose. That's just how it is.

Why does the Deathslinger have a terror radius of -7?

Well... do you know that the killer performs good enough? Kinda killing argument. I could also say if there is a single survivor capable of looping the killer for 5 gens (or 2.5 gens twice until he is moriable would be sufficient), there would be 3-4 escapes. But your choice, I can't say more than "you ruin your own game experience by expecting the worst and acting accordingly". If this is your choice, go for it
That's why I said the killer needs to be somewhat competent to not tunnel vision for 8 minutes and kill nobody in the process. Don't forget that part.

GOOD LUCK PLAYING SURVIVOR, jajajajajaja.
Survivors were still stronger back then. It has never been a better time to be a Killer than right now.

33%, you still need to down survivors twice.
And if you give up, the game is done. I saw enough games with 1-2 escapes, not just by hatch / key escapes against ebony moris. And I saw it on both sides. I'm not defending moris in total, tunneling is still *** play and breaks the game, but giving up makes it even worse. And if people say it gives them tension, and you say the outcome is determined, then I say it is possible to escape and have a decent match.
You don't need to really if you just proxy camp. There is no tension, just boredom.
I've had 4 man escapes against Mori's before, but it's not because we out-skilled the Killer. It's because the Killer was bad. If you go against a competent Killer with amazing add-ons + an ebony mori, you lose. That's just how it is.

People don't want a black pip. People want their potential pip and the points from mid and late game (where a majority of the points come from) after waiting in queue.

when something was made worst, that my friend is a nerf.
when u go through all the nerfs both have had, killers have had a harder nerf then survivors.
Okay. Let's revert back to when Survivors were literal Gods with their pallet vacuums, double the amount of pallets, instablinds, etc etc. Good luck playing killer.

This is not the Mori problem, this is the killer problem. And I also said something about that in my first post. Make use of the time you have before you need to save. Don't rush for the unhook giving the killer another easy chase for free. Be more efficient. If you are more efficient, there will be 1-2 people escaping. Against a camper, probably even more. If that first guy flaps arms or has Kindred, that should be possible. But it is not if people just give up and waste time
I don't understand how the ebony mori doesn't delete 66% of the Killer's objective though.
They only need 1 hook from everyone now instead of a potential of 3 a piece. It doesn't make the game more intense, the game is determined unless the Killer severely misplays it.
Not to mention they usually accompany their ebony with their best add-ons as well. It's pointless to even care about that match at that point.

I like stealth. Countered. Not the urban evasion style. I just avoid chases if I don't have to be chased. And I'm not saying everyone should wait for others to die. The killer will find you when you do gens. It is just easier for the killer if you sit on a gen until last second because you know "window in reach". Try to hide early enough and maybe you avoided the chase, sitting on the gen again and giving the team time to do other gens or heal up. Or give the killer a free chase. Against Moris, this is what causes the ez 4k
What causes an easy 4k is the Killer will proxy camp the first hook and immediately tunnel and mori them if they get unhooked, and then the game is crippled as 66% of their objective has been effectively removed due to the mori.
-
@Deadeye said:
@arslaN @AsePlayer It would be better if most survivors were not conditioned on rushing hooks, protection hits and annoy killers. Stealth is hated so much across most of the survivor base that noone is able to play against a mori. Many just rely on their god loop abilities and just run around the open, knowing "I can buy enough time or even escape". Then against a mori, awareness of where the killer is or making use of the time you get when someone is hooked before you need to save crushes the team
Nobody likes stealth. If killers really want to search for a Survivor for 20 minutes while we all hide in the outskirts or in the basement, then that's on them lol

Declaring something "toxic" is dumb af for this very reason. People will move the goalposts and determine toxic as "anything that upset them that match".

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/143931/why-is-dbd-so-toxic
The survivors are toxic because they know they're going to win 99% of the time because they're so over powered. If they wasn't so overpowered they wouldn't be as toxic. If I was a dev. I'd take t-bagging out or counter it and make your character unable to crouch for a period of time due to t-bagging. At the exit gates, if a survivor is t-bagging, I'd personally make the exit gates close so the survivors are unable to win because they can't exit due to t-bagging.
Killers camp because it's a strategy that's useful for when going up against survivors especially survive with friends groups. Most of the killers are so weak against survivors most of the killers can't even get 1 killer per match. Iif they was to leave that survivor off the hook unattended. As soon as the killer steps away from the hook, a survivor is right there taking them off it especially in a survive with friends game.
It's better to take 12k points and 1 kill than to let 4 survivors escape and pad their stats making them even more toxic for players in the future.
A message on the PS4 today was " Ez 5 gen rush ". This is the kind of messages I get playing as the killer. The match was the survivor t-bagging me whilst looping me all over the map dropping every pallet possible and jumping every single window possible. I got 1 kill that match and it was on this guy because he t-bagged me.
Your skin is so thin I can see right through it my dude.

Didn't know disabling anti-aliasing (which you can do in literally any other game) was considered cheating.

I can usually tell. That being said i mainly go against a 2 man swf or solos. Rarely do i go agaisnt a 4 man
I got a flashlight save and was deemed "SWF trash" in solo queue.
People can play with a brain in solo queue sometimes, although recently I wonder myself if that's even true anymore.
-
See you in a few days.
-
@yobuddd It would be awesome, but they already need all the coders they can on the base game. Bugs and dedicated servers need to get ironed out first before I'd like to see that kinda stuff.
I'm fine with Killers getting bonus BP or something for facing SWF, but they should only find out post-game to prevent dodging.
-
@Peanits said:
That would be pretty nutty. I've been running Any Means Necessary for a couple weeks on my survivors and it's pretty decent sometimes. I wouldn't mind a buff to it, but to rebuild broken pallets would be a little crazy. I can't imagine it would be much fun to have to deal with shack pallet (or another very safe pallet) multiple times in a match. As is, if you let it get reset, that's on you. You should have broken it. But if they can rebuild it after you broke it, there's nothing you can do to stop it.
Yes. Pls give it a shmexy buff.
-
@yobuddd said:
I mean, what are the actual numbers for how many players there are?
- Queue times are broken —— because too many play one side?
- Matchmaking is broken —— because there aren’t enough players of the same rank?
- If we add a new game mode, “queue times would be outrageous because there won’t be enough playing the normal game”.
- If we add a casual mode, “queue times would be outrageous because there won’t be enough playing the competitive mode”.
- If we allow killers (or solos for that matter) to toggle between SWF for bonuses or solos for normal, “SWF would never get a match because the killer base would be split”
Other games add in different modes just fine, and their playerbase remains healthy.
So what’s the word? Is the game dying? Is the player base less than 2,000? Are we too fragile do endure a serious change without dealing a death blow?
Matchmaking and Queues are just something they broke I think.
In regards to the new game mode, I don't see the point on them balancing and working on 2 game modes when they can't even decide what they want to do with the base game lol
In regards to casual and toggling SWF, I totally believe a majority of killers just want the game on easy mode and they will disable SWF in a heartbeat.

So you're saying that it's on the killer if they get annoyed at a 4 man SWF who all have DS, BT and Adrenaline with a key which all give them a huge advantage to escaping? Ok then, perfectly understandable logic.
Yes. I am able to put up with it and not get pissy with the game. Other people can do the same if they practice self-control.
It's a PVP game, everyone wants to win, yet someone is going to lose. You would rather win than lose, so it's no surprise you can get frustrated. That's how losing works.

you improve soo much if you got pressure in you, I can understand if you get a mori every match but that is rarely the case

Ah yes, the good ol' "punish people for playing with their friends so they stop playing the game altogether" strategy. Do you want to kill this game or something?

Not biased at all. I don't like to get tunneled, camped or moried after first hook, but I am not going to blame the Killer. The reason for my deaths are more often than not due to my own poor skills. If I ran better perks and was able to loop and mind game better, I wouldn't be an attractive target for the Killer.
Tunneling is countered by being better at looping and teamwork.
Camping is countered by running kindred and rushing gens, it also helps if you are good at looping so you could waste the killers time as much as possible before they have a chance to camp you.
Slugging is countered by Unbreakable as well as teamwork.
You complain about those three things and they are all easily countered. You and everyone else who complains about it are just bad at the game. It is 4 vs 1, if the 4 worked with each other played optimally, the majority of the team would survive. The Killer doesn't owe you an easy game, nor are they required to play by your rules.
This ain't it chief.

Well, the idea would be to just give each survivor an ability that wouldn't make a game breaking ability, but just something small to make survivors have a personality in gameplay.
Anything related to exhaustion or better gen time / healing or looping will be all that is played competitively.

Question, from a newish killer here. People keep saying godloops are fine because killers should just "drop the chase" which i try to do. But what do i do when the survivors wont try and do the gens. I had a game.not too long ago where the survivors, every time they heard my terror radius, sprinted for the loop. Yeah i kicked the gen but that went on for like 20 minutes. If i left to chase them the gen got swarmed, if i covered gens then they just sat near the loop. Just wondering what im supposed to do when that happens?
At that point I would just try and cut them off and zone them. (Try approaching them FROM the god loop so they can't go there for example). Eventually, you'll have enough points where you can just let them leave and still win lol. Pretty lame game play, but you can whittle down their resources and health states eventually.

I've been disconnecting a lot lately, as I feel like there is nothing I can do anymore In the game so I just gtfo
Well there are various reasons you could be feeling like that such as what Killer you play, the map, the skill of the Survivors, etc.
My advice (as someone who isn't the best at Killer myself) is to just play for what will make you happy instead of what the system wants. I felt way better after making that adjustment personally.

If you buy Ghostface you smell weird.

@bunnibeetea said:
I understand how disconnecting as survivor can mess up your teammates and stuff, but when your about to die on third hook and you get downed and disconnect, why is it bad? Your game was pretty much already over if you were being carried to the basement on death hook, most of the time anyway.
What do survivors lose when the killer DC's? They all escape and win, so why do killers get punished for doing it too? I don't wanna sit there and deal with a toxic SWF, and if anything disconnecting gives them a free win. Does it like not safety pip the survivors?
You might be cucking Survivors out of a pip if the game hasn't gone on long enough for them to acquire those emblem points.
On the bright side, we get to keep our add-ons :3

Do you enjoy ruining the survivors game? Just had a game where my friend got found, hooked, unhooked then moried immediately. We didn't escape because a 3v1 will never end well for survivors, I was the last one and hatch got closed so I just dced because I would've lost my pips and barely got any bloodpoints. (It was on Macmillan so the doors were right beside each other and it was billy) I know that survivors do act scummy (we wasn't, we just spawned in and got found) but does that really justify ruining the game for yourself and everyone else because you don't wanna deal with them? I'm not saying it's scummy to kill survivors with moris, it's just when you bring a mori to kill everyone as soon as the game starts and they have nothing to do because it's a 3v1 now. Yes, I do know it's the job as killers to kill everyone but what do you gain from moriing everyone 2 minutes into the game? A black pip and maybe 10k points.
Tl:dr why do you mori people 2 minutes into the match even though you gain nothing from it.
Some people aren't good at video games.
