I won't be surprised if the anniversary has a big license reveal, that's usually how it works. Could be anybody, but the three or four top contenders I can think of might be
- Alien - This would be a huge license to get, and would be a great replacement for Demogorgon to fill the animalistic predatory humanoid carnivorous killer
- Jason - It's no secret they actively want this license, and now that the IP is apparently freed up a bit who knows?
- Pennywise - Again, a big license to get and one I think they'd love to have. It's not clear how he'd work mechanically, but there are plenty of ideas out there on it so it's far from an insurmountable obstacle.
- Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy's - I've never played the game, but I know there's a really loyal group of fans who want this killer in the game. And it's certainly a popular video game license.
Some other licenses that I think would be fun but I'm skeptical would be picked up
- Chucky - Chucky is a great bad guy, but I just don't know how they'd do it mechanically. Victor is in the ballpark of a really tiny killer, with Chucky it would be playing as Victor all the time. They'd have to work up new hook animations or something, since obviously he can't hook people using the usual animation, and I have no idea what his ability would actually be. 🤷♂️ If he shows up, great! But I have trouble seeing how.
- Phantasm - The Tall Man from Phantasm who runs the mortuary with sinister steel flying pinballs of doom. He's be a great killer in this game, he's got the look and an ability that fits right in mechanically. And he's a cult film fan favorite. I can maybe see him maybe getting picked up someday, but Phantasm just isn't a big enough title I don't think for an anniversary release.
- Final Destination - This one is a pipe dream of mine. Play a "killer" which is actually an invisible avatar that is capable of manipulating the environment and props to kill survivors. It would be a tough construction mechanically so I doubt it would ever happen, but boy could it be fun if they figured out a way to do this type of killer!
- Supernatural - This is an IP I'd love to see in the game. Winchesters as survivors, a Demon as a killer, The Bunker as a map. The thing is I suspect that if the license holders were interested in cutting a deal with DbD they might have done it already, the show was actually still on the air when DbD came out and they had plenty of time to work it out. Now that it's off the air and there's no particular buzz for the show I'm sadly doubtful it would ever get picked up. 🙁
- The Thing - A shapeshifting killer that can mimic survivors and do really creepy attacks, etc, could be pretty cool. Mimicking a survivor on its own sounds like something a swf would defeat, but when you consider that being a mimic implies persistent Undetectability (because obviously you have no red stain or terror radius while disguised as a survivor) that alone would give the killer a nice effect to play with. Basically that's half of Ghostface's kit all on its own! They'd just need to find something else as a good secondary ability to beef the killer up. Either way, though, the chances of the license being picked up are already a bit slim, and then top it off with questions of how to do it justice mechanically and I don't see it happening. (But I still hold out hope for a mimic killer someday, albeit maybe an original one!)
- Jeepers Creepers - The killer could fit in well, but I hear that IP is a legal nightmare. Seriously doubt it will ever happen.
- Slender Man - I could see this being picked up someday maybe? I don't know how big a name it is as a license.
- Candyman - They've had a few opportunities to pick up Candyman and it hasn't happened so far. And they missed the window with the Candyman film in 2021, that would have been the optimal time to do a deal with that character.
- A Quiet Place - Another contender to replace Demogorgon, the aliens from A Quiet Place definitely fit the part in terms of their look and theme. Seems like it would be a longshot to get the license though maybe.
- Dracula - Dracula or any similar vampire killer could be cool. That being said, it feels like if they had wanted a vampire they would have done one already, they certainly wouldn't need the Dracula license from Universal to do it.
- Carrie - I could almost see Carrie being in this game. She sort of fits the same broad theme as Spirit, a young woman who was wronged and is lashing out in anger. Telekinetic attacks obviously would be the mechanic. Could be interesting but feels like a long shot as a license.
- Evil Dead - They've already got Ash from Evil Dead, so they have an in. But who would the killer be? A generic zombie or whatever wouldn't cut it. And I don't even remember who the recurring bad guy from the show would be (Lucy Lawless I think was a heavy?) Also I suspect if they were going to do an Evil Dead related killer they would have done it simultaneously with Ash.
- Dead Silence - Or really any evil ventriloquist and their dummy. The Twins already kind of fill this genre though, even if Victor isn't dressed in a tuxedo. 🤷♂️
- Predator - Certainly fits the bill in terms of hunting people down as trophies. Seems pretty overpowered as a killer though for the theme, if they ever brought him in the Entity would have to clip his claws a bit.
i think the idea you have for final destination could apply to uzumaki as well, like you're controlling the curse of the spiral or something like that
-
doubt it'll do much good, most online petitions are pointless and bhvr seems convinced the two years of "effort" that went into sbmm justifies it staying in the game. still signed though, might as well
-
still completely absurd that the cheater epidemic has been going on for as long as it has and there's been no legitimate action taken by bhvr to stop or even address it.
also, could have sworn i commented on this before. weird.
-
too weak in the early game and countered hard by healing. you need a decent amount of blood orbs on the map to get your power which just won't pile up if the survivors are running the usual healing stuff. not a bad killer by any means, just not quite as strong as he used to be. shame because i love oni, i just don't see him much and my mmr on him is completely broken lol
-
i guess technically i'm using them for stealth on ghostface because i use his p3 but otherwise it's just style. i guess black metal jeff kinda blends well, i wouldn't know

That's nice, I usually just get called a f slur
ah sorry to hear, lot of awful people in this game sadly
-
dead space has a remake coming this year and the last two anniversary chapters were for classic survival horror games
-
this post is unnecessary and parrots the same thing that all the other low effort junk says here
nice name btw
-
i'm betting the majority of this game's playerbase is under 18
-
yeah i got shot in the chest by a cowboy last week
-
who is morris
-
flashbang, blast mine, power struggle and diversion is the only survivor build i run anymore

Blight. He may be fun when it comes to gameplay but the people who play him aren't.
:(

demo, blight and pre-nerf billy
-
that slinger one got me
-
i think dc penalties shouldn't apply if the egc timer has ended
-
coh needs a nerf more than anything else but i think boons should have a limit for uses. kinda threw the high risk-high reward thing out of the window by letting you reuse them over and over
-
this wouldn't even be an issue if there was a genuine effort being made to deal with hackers but as far as i can tell it's just being ignored
-
hide endgame chat, take a break if it really gets to you
it's also good to get in the habit of not arguing back with people, just say ggwp and move on, even if you think they played badly or if they're rude

In my opinion it was.
It was one use (if you were lucky enough to hit the skill check), could be instantly snuffed after first hook, and also, they released statistics proving that the escape rate of survivors using the perk was the same after the change.
Nobody put a gun to your head to agree with me. It's just my views on it. :]
i am fully aware that you're not requiring me to agree with you, i am voicing my disagreement with the idea that ds was ever a bad perk. yes, the killer can tunnel through it, but a 5 second stun generally buys enough time to reach another loop. assuming there's the usual rancid map rng and the survivor is skilled in looping that can waste a pretty significant amount of the killer's time, time spent not pressuring gens or hooking other survivors. i don't think it's ds's anti-tunneling that makes it strong, its the fact that it can buy a lot of time for others on gens.

* delete rpd and the game
* rework haddonfield and badham (remove house of pain and fences, change the badham main building)
* adjust midwich to make it easier to traverse, remove that one classroom window
* decrease map size for both red forest maps and eyrie of crows
-
where is iron maiden??
-
"The perk was garbage before the nerf"
bruh
-
all that needed to be censored was slurs, really have no idea how they ######### up the chat filter to the degree they did
-
looping is the only vaguely enjoyable part of survivor gameplay, we don't need more w-holding
-
if dbd was a crashing plane, mmr is like the pilot hitting the controls with a wrench to try and "fix" it
-
hide endgame chat. you bought the game, play how you want. if people keep being #########, then taking a break or quitting altogether are completely valid options

What feedback is valuable?
direct opinion on why whatever the subject is needs to be focused on without rants about the devs, survivor/killer players or whatever else. i think you see a lot more posts along the lines of "[Thing] is bad and so are the people who use it!" rather than "[Thing] is unbalanced/weak/etc. and I think it needs to be changed". discussion here is usually more inflammatory than productive, although i'm not exactly helping that a lot of the time
-
even if the feedback here was actually valuable it'd get ignored all the same lol
-
for like, comp stuff i get using stretched but god making your visual experience actively worse for a video game advantage is so pathetic outside of that
-
everyone in this game thinks they're a victim

I wish I still had my ol' cassettes. I miss them. But I'm living in a very small appartment with my fiancé, and until we move, I can't add more to my shelves than my books.
That's a nice collection. Where did you find them? From second hand?
Some are from family members, some were finds at thrift stores but most of them were ordered directly from the artist or label, I've got some I bought at a show as well but those are being held onto by someone else atm.

I think I got rid of everything at one point. Sister had tons of cassettes that I listened to as a kid. Then I had tons of cd's.
Then things got more simple and I honestly like it this way. I prefer digital everything and have no nostalgia about these kind of things.
I understand people who do like it tho (younger or older ones), and everyone should enjoy what they love.
Cool collection btw.
I def get preferring digital, it's a lot more convenient and costs less but for me I like the look and sound of tapes, plus buying media is a good way to support artists. I was born after cassettes had pretty much died as a format, which I think gives a different overall view of them

i mained cheryl on ps4 but now i just play jeff

I have chosen option 3: Play harder.
you do that then

she is a killer in the game

At this point bhvr should just give a CD on crouching and every one is fine tbagging is toxic that's a fact and putting a CD on it would not harm the game everyone that think it would just wants to protect there toxic little dance party. The worst thing is survs always counter with just don't go to the gates but then I have to sit trough egc cause this guy's don't leave without a chance to perform they even come out of the gates to search for you
not a big fan of this idea, more of a cassette person myself

It won't happen.
BHVR is not an American company. It does not like bloody gore. And it caters to countries oversees that heavily censor violence. This game should be ten times more violent than it is but they hold back a LOT.
Look at how many mori animations are just "I hit you with my weapon a bunch of times".
i think this has kinda lessened over time. hag's mori has her eating human organs, oni rips the tongues out of survivor's mouths, slinger shoots a harpoon through survivor's mouths, demo eats heads, etc. even without severed heads, open wounds and all that the sheer brutality of these things is still shown effectively imo.
-
absolutely yes. wish you the best in whatever other games you'll find.
-
this reminds me, didn't they say the RE chapter would introduce new ways to escape trials? did that just become another empty promise or am i missing something
-
######### people online are inevitable, if it bothers you then get over it or stop playing.
-
i wish, but my personal interest in the franchise isn't very high and bhvr has set a pretty awful standard for killer power design lately. either way i don't spend money on this game anymore so it makes no difference
-
i don't see much harm in the change but not much benefit either
-
yeah, they'll do something when switch gets cross progression and twins get reworked
-
i love that map, they just gotta remove the breakable walls and fix the hooks

Crypt TV got featured, so it's possible some of them could be part of the game eventually.
As I started this post off with, though, this was made entirely because someone else's Jeff the Killer concept was god awful and they were being stubborn as hell with fixing it.
please link me that concept that sounds hilarious
-
any of these 4
-
Big agree, seems like the repeated female survivors are lessening now with jonah, james, chris and leon all having come into the game recently though
