I’m not saying survs are angels. I’m saying there are 3-4 surv mains in this forum

Sure buddy. The forums are just SO Killer-sided because people disagree with you. 👍️

ANd noed promotes camping also, before and after it activates. You see less noed comments here because this is a killers forum, and when anyone say something they dislike they come here in hordes

'Whaaa! People disagree so the forums are biased!'

If a Killer camps with NoED; The non-hooked Survivors can...oh...I don't know, this is just a WILD idea; GO FIND AND CLEANSE NOED! 😮

But here comes the vague statement on how a camping Killer can somehow not only defend a hook, but all 5 gens and the totem as well. Because NoED is that magically powerful. 🙃

  • @dictep said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2765354#Comment_2765354

sorry, but I barely see survs crying here. This post was made by a killer main also

Rofl. Now I know you're a troll. Survivors are whining about NoED, camping, tunneling, slugging, missed skillchecks when leaving a gen...

But to you; Killers evil, Survivors angels. Good to know your opinion is biased and worthless.

  • @dictep said:

when survs use old MoM or old DS they were using a perk also.

Nice whataboutism. But yes, they were. And then the devs realized the perks did not do what they wanted, or did it too well.

See, people had legitimate complaints with old MoM and DS. The only 'complaints' about NoED are literally LIES:

    1. 'It's gives Killers unearned kills!' Bullshit. The Killer still does the legwork and has to find, hit, and hook people; literally all steps towards winning for the ENTIRE MATCH.
    2. 'It rewards failure! We win if we do 5 gens! Hehe, gen goes brrrrrr! 🤪' Bullshit. Killer loses when Survivors LEAVE THE MAP. No sooner.
  • @dictep said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2765340#Comment_2765340

Wrong. Noed makes killers worse. I said they feel better

They are using a perk. They are getting kills. This means the perk is working, because PERKS ARE MEANT TO BE USED! How is that so hard to understand?

Oh right; lazy, entitled Survivor whining that a perk killed them so it's OP. 👌

  • Still have not countered my comments. Because you can't.

  • @dictep said:

Noed is totally broken. It kills more survs than 90% of low-mid mmr killers. And another problem is that killers that use it think they’re better than they really are. And when they play with good survs they come here crying because they think they’re semigods and the problem is that survs are op

Keep whining and babbling about how NoED somehow magically makes Killers better by...being a valid perk they are using to good effect.

It's almost like they're using a perk, and getting use out of it. Heaven forbid Killers have a PERK THAT WORKS! It MUST be OP, because IT WORKS! All Killer perks are supposed to be garbage! So sayeth lazy whiner Survivors!

  • Because Survivors whine that anything slowing down the genrush & preventing them from 3-4E while twerking must be OP and removed.

  • Let me guess; you're going to use my answer to dismiss all my points without actually countering them because you've got no counter arguments to solid facts and are seeking a way to ignore my very solid argument?

Yes, sometimes, I do. That does not mean my points are wrong.

  • @dictep said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2764203#Comment_2764203

I’m high mmr with 4.500 hours, and when I see a killer that only gets 2-3 hooks before 5 gens are done I know he has noed. Why do you think I play against him/her? Because noed gives them extra kills they don’t deserve.

Because noed gives them extra kills they don’t deserve

Oh look; the same lie Survivors always babble. 'They don't deserve the kills because we said so! Proof NoED is broken! 🤪'

Does NoED show the Killer where Survivors are? No. So the Killer still has to use other Perks, or just find them on his own.

Does NoED hurt Survivors on its own? No. So the Killer still has to chase Survivors and hit them.

Does noED hook Survivors on its own? No. So the Killer still has to be aware of flashlight saves, flashbangs, pallets, hook sabo, bodyblocking, DStrike...

The simple fact is that NoED is balanced. Because of this, Survivors vomit lies and fake flaws in order to pretend NoED has flaws to try getting it nerfed. Because they have nothing.

Three unalterable facts that take apart every Survivor whine-post about NoED:

    1. It does not give kills Killers 'don't deserve' because they deserve every Kill they get. That's how the game works. They killed you? Your hurt widdle feelings aside; they deserved the kill. That as stupid as saying 'Survivors did not deserve the gen because they used Prove Thyself 🤪'
    2. It does not 'reward failure' because the Killer has not failed until you leave the map. Survivors cannot just invent a failure state and expect it to be a rule.
    3. Deal with it.
  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

Only being able to use it once per totem isn’t the problem with it, it’s that boons hard counter it.

Yep! Penti needs Cleansed totems. But Survivors can't boon Cleansed totems. And Circle Of OP is powerful enough to encourage always using. Which means NEVER cleansing. Which means never using Penti.

So the devs gave Killers a hex that, literally, is worthless because they changed cleansing priority. Because OF COURSE any Killer perk worth a damn needs Survivor input.

And now they under-nerfed Circle of OP to the point that they may as well have never touched it. This nerf was basically a middle finger to Killers.

    Bravo, Behavior. Bravo.

  • But Killers getting locked into a fake grab while Survivors run away benefits Survivors, so don't expect a change.

(Why yes; I am bitter that the CoH nerf was the most useless nerf ever made. It's now abundantly clear the devs are unwilling or unable to properly nerf Survivors. So I'm no longer expecting anything Survivor-favored to ever change)

  • Because the developers have said they consider anything short of racism or death threats 'part of internet culture' instead of doing their jobs to moderate it.

So vile people feel like they have a right to be vile in DBD, whereas that would get them banned in better games.

  • Whatever they do; gen-tapping has to be removed. It's BS.

But it also benefits Survivors so it might be looked at, in another 5 years.

  • I agree, but only Survivors are allowed OP totem mechanics. And any nerfs are fake so Survivors don't get angry.

I rarely see survivor mains complaining on these forums. Look at the front page and i can promise atleast 80% of the threads is killer mains crying. Everyday.

Rofl. Survivor mains cry once an hour about: NoED, tuennling, camping, slugging, about missing skillchecks when they leave a gen (They think this should not happen at all)..

If you 'rarely see' these posts, it's because you ignore them so you can pretend Killers do all the complaining.

  • Some Survivors: Killers are not leaving! 🤪

I wouldn't keeping the skillchecks as a wake up method. With Self-Care no longer in the meta, the situation might prove present itself differently then what it did years ago. I do, however, see where you are coming from.

As for the clocks...I kinda hate them, so I not so certain about that.

True, the clocks are not great, but SoloQ need some way to self-wake-up that's not 'Get hooked'. And since I'd lobby for failed skillchecks to not wake up anymore (because that's practically at-will); you kind of need to clocks.

I mean, you COULD give Freddy an add-on where failed skillchecks take more Progress% than normal, but allow Survivors to self-wake-up. 😈

  • @GeneralV said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2764200#Comment_2764200

You just have to know where to look :)

When it comes to Old Freddy, good ole' GeneralV is your guy!

I will admit; Old Freddy was fun, if you just did not expect to get any hooks. Remove that period of immunity, or mitigate it in some way, and I'd like him.

As you said; use Incapacitated when they are in the sleep transition.

Also; remove their ability to self-wake-up via failed skillchecks. That was an at-will way to negate Freddy's ability to attack. They should always need someone ELSE to wake them up, or find the clocks.

  • @GeneralV said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2764194#Comment_2764194

"The periods where Survivors could heal/cleanse/do gens right in your face because you could not hurt them AT ALL while they were awake."

That is correct, yes, but fixing that doesn't require a rework. It requires an Incapacitated Status Effect during the Transition.

People who want him back, me in particular, have thought of ways to fix his unnecessary weaknesses.

    Never assume otherwise.

Fair enough, but most people do not say such. They just say 'Old Freddy is better' and since I lack the ability to read minds, I have to assume they mean 100% of old Freddy and proceed with my reply with that in mind. :)

  • @GannTM said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2764160#Comment_2764160

What was bad about him? Surely he’s more interesting than what he is now.

The periods where Survivors could heal/cleanse/do gens right in your face because you could not hurt them AT ALL while they were awake.

The best was camping pallets, using self-care, predropping as they are about to fall asleep, self-caring more, then failing a heal skillcheck (or popping a gen) to wake up & be immune to damage again.

The fact that old Freddy literally had a state where Survivors were flat-out IMMUNE to damage made him horrible. People seem to forget that part for the nostalgia.

Keep attempting to troll. Someday, someone will fall for it.

Yeah! My turn to bring the Survivor-shaped cookies?

  • It would, except you said some conspiracy theory you invented. Not truth. Sorry to burst your delusion.

Also Survivors: Circle Of OP is fair. Git gud!

  • @ZelosWilder said:

Imagine thinking something like what you said, and then actually POSTING it.

  • @Xendritch said:

Zombie AI is really bad. To be fair it is also probably really hard when you combine how spaghetti DBD's code already is + limitations of old consoles. If you imagine each potential point a model can stand on the map as a set of coordinates, let's just say x and y to make it easy. The zombie AI needs to determine the zombies own location on the graph (x1,y1). Determine a detected survivors position on the graph (x2,y2) and then determine a path to take to travel from x1,y1 -> x2,y2. If it's a straight line it can be really easy right but when we layer in geometry it suddenly gets really really difficult. If a zombie incorrectly paths and gets trapped/stuck do you have it recalculate a new path to navigate out? How often should it be checking to see if its stuck? We already saw with the release of nemesis the performance tank really bad so I doubt BHVR is interested in AI/improving the zombie AI after the nemesis experiment. They can probably improve it, but the 'easy' fix is probably pretty taxing to older systems.

Honestly, if they don't, they should just use a navigation mesh. It's so much cleaner than a pathfinding script.

It becomes less 'can I walk here?' and 'am I stuck?' because the behavior script can focus on finding people while the navigation mesh tells the AI where it can and cannot go. Less checks needed.

Dead Hard is an extremely weak perk while all killer perks are at its strongest.

    Good joke.

  • @Rivyn said:

Don't except anything done about it for a few years. Remember, if it affects survivors, it's not a priority. Probably next year, or the year after.

You mean 'if it HELPS Survivors' it's not a priority. Anything that HURTS Survivors is fixed within a day.

Source: When Survivors would stop hearing Killer's TR music randomly, it was fixed within a day. When Survivors stop making noise when in the Dying state; it has not been fixed in over a year.

Plague's power is bugged, you miss when you clearly hit.

Billy has been annihilated by BHVR, have mercy.

Ghost Face's power is dependent on how bugs play out: if you are lucky, it will work in your favor, if not - you will be an M1 killer.

Myers - imagine a killer power that can be DEPLETED. Even slinger never runs out of ammo, but Myers does somehow.

You forgot 'And stretched res cheating can make revealing Ghostface stupidly easy'.

  • @MrsGhostface said:

I feel like we would all finally have peace if NOED was nerfed

Nope. The lazy Survivors who got it nerfed would scream for the next perk to be nerfed. Remember; NoED is fine, it's just that some Survivors don't like ANYTHING that takes them off gens for even a second.

  • @BenihimeWrath said:

Honestly I'm surprised survivors aren't burning down the forums over the CoH """"nerf""""

It would be a miss attack cooldown, as it wasn't a hit, it was a miss

Oh. In that case; 2 seconds dash, yeah.

I always imagined it was a 'hit' for Killers but not a hit...But that would cause Killers to think it was a 'phantom hit', which would suck. My bad.

  • @Junylar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2763701#Comment_2763701

A perk that can only be useful in 4man SWF? Comparing to a perk that grants 2 (TWO!) free kills out of the box with no effort? Well, i don't know, you might be right on this one: they are not even comparable.

Christ. When are you folks going to drop the 'no effort' bullshit?

    Does NoED auto-find people? No.

Does it down people without the Killer doing anything? No.

Does it put people on the hook for the Killer? No.

Does it avoid pallet saves? Flashlight stuns? No.

    Can it avoid DStrike? No.

Therefore 'No effort' is a lie. Garbage pushed by Survivors inventing flaws because NoED is actually balanced & they can't find REAL ones.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2763688#Comment_2763688

Dead Hard for distance was also the OP part of the Perk. The invincibility frames are actually pretty meh, I wouldn't mind them getting a buff if the distance was reworked to require dodging a hit. I've seen the concept of Dead Hard giving the Survivor a 2 second Sprint Burst if they successfully dodge a hit using the i-frame, I quite like it

I'd argue for 1 second, maybe 1.5 seconds, but only becuase the Killer also does the 'wiping weapon' animation. Need to add that slowdown into the equation.

  • Rest easy; Circle of OP was not actually nerfed. +2 extra seconds healing someone else, and +4 seconds healing yourself.

Mean, that's really going to shake up the meta. The devs are just crazy to make such HUGE numbers changes to a beloved perk. Oh noooooo... 😒

  • Given the non-nerf they just gave Circle of OP; do you really think they'll do anything at all impactful to DH?

  • No. Killers have 4 perks. Survivors have 16. Limiting perks hurts Killers 4x harder than Survivors.

  • @Harold_Shipman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2763511#Comment_2763511

surely then I should be running into plagues, billy, ghost face and myers all the time too? But nope, just bubba, time and time again

Bubba has an easier & more consistent power than any of them. He's the easiest anti-CoP (Circle OP) Killer.

  • Yep. I'm done playing for now. The Boon: Circle Of OP 'nerf' was literally the laziest, most half-arsed nerf they have ever done.

It feels like they went 'We'll tell Killers it's a 25% nerf, because that SOUNDS big! Maybe they'll be too stupid to run the numbers! This should shut them up! (But don't worry, Survivors; it's only 2-4 seconds! You still have your OP toy!)'

It was slop thrown to Killers to say 'We did something for you!" and let Survivors say 'See! The devs nerf strong Survivor perks!' while ignoring how hollow, underwhelming, and ineffective the nerf is.

It's the last straw. I'd rather chew tinfoil than log in, get blasted for using 'unfair' Killer perks & 'unfair' Killer powers by 4 Survivors in a Sweat With Friends running 16 meta perks, and telling me to 'git gud' while insulting me for using 'sweat builds'. Add to that stretched res cheaters (when it's easy to fix) and flashlight seizure-macros (again; easy to fix, but Survivors are literally allowed to cause physical pain to Killers. If that does not tell you dev priorities, nothing will.)

DBD is no longer fun. It's, at times, literally physically painful to play (thanks, flashlight macro scrublords!) The devs are showing they have no idea how to fix their game or why Killers are leaving in droves. I'll just play God of War and DS3 Randomizer until Elden Ring launches next month.

  • @Laluzi said:

This really illustrates how the devs don't understand what makes CoH as good as it is. They didn't understand that it was going to be a gamechanger when they introduced it despite the feedback they got and they still don't get why it's as impactful as it is.

The nerf barely does anything. Yes, it's not as fast, but it's still very fast, extremely reliable, gives every survivor several extra perks at the cost of one of sixteen perk slots, and is uncounterable save for tunneling the perk user. It's still by and far the best healing perk in the game and changes how injuries fundamentally affect a survivor team.

The really great thing? Even 'Tunneling the perk user' is not a real counter, because the Killer has almost no way to know WHO has the perk!

On top of that, all 4 could have the perk. So you tunnel 1, and the next Survivor lights up a totem.

Boons are OP, and CoH is still the most OP of OP. The devs did nothing to nerf it, and this whole change feels like slop thrown to Killers to shut them up while ensuring Survivors still have Boon: OP to use.

  • So, basically, the nerf was BS they did in the hopes it would appease Killers that were rightly sick of how OP CoH was? 🙃

Either that, or someone at BHVR just decided '25% SOUNDS big!' without actually taking the time to crunch the numbers.

I don't know which is worse; A smokescreen to appease Killers without actually nerfing Survivors. Or not being motivated enough to actually run the numbers...

  • The dev's logic is as follows:

Killer Nerfs: Use any BS you can to sledgehammer Killer's into uselessness.

Survivor Nerfs: The lightest touch possible. More of a 'I hope this shuts Killers up' token action than any real nerfs.

I'm not a 'Devs are Survivor-sided' type person but after the utter non-nerf the 'CoH Nerf' was...

  • They will reduce the distance traveled by 0.00000000009 meters, because they heard Killers complaining about DH for distance. To compensate Survivors for such a MASSIVE nerf; the i-frames will be increased by 10 seconds.

  • @Mandy said:

yeah to be completely clear, this is not our design it was taken from a Reddit thread and shown as a shoutout to the person who designed it.

Yes, they are man, there are kinda 100 topics about NOED being op every month, always opened by different users, the "NOED defenders" are always the same 4-5 guys and they always threat people like idiots, unable to understand the basic game mechanics, they always repeat the same things over and over like parrots, never reply to you when you confute those points ignoring all your objections but they keep repeating you have no real good points, no explanations whatsoever, you simply hate killers because you don't know how to play and you should play killer.

they always repeat the same things over and over like parrots

Do you know why we say the same things over and over? Because facts don't change!

You seem to think that new people making accounts to whine and whinge about NoED while we counter with the same FACTS each time is proof there's a problem. It's not. It's proof that new accounts are people either trolling, or have 0 clue how the game works.

If you'd actually read replies, you'd see that absolutely no one has ever had a valid criticism about NoED. It's always fake bullshit like 'rewards failure' (a lie) or 'I can't solo 5 bones' (there's 4 Survivors. It's not NoED's fault if someone does not want to get off gens)

You say 'There's 100 topics' like this is proof NoED is broken. it's proof 100 people are whiny newbs who want anything that works for Killers nerfed.

Your 'proof' is anecdotal evidence and 'Well, 100 new accounts whined, so it must be true!' Guess what? Someone made a new account to claim Artist should not do damage with her power. Is that now true because someone said it? Or does it only work for NoED?

Someone else made a new account to claim Monsterous Shrine is OP. And a SECOND new account agreed! I guess it's time to nerf Shrine, because two whole people said it! Or does this 'different people' BS only apply to NoED?

Once again; the reason 'NoED defenders' never say anything new is because FACTS DO NOT CHANGE. And since we use FACTS to prove NoED is fine; our defense will not change. That's how facts & logic work. Amazing; I know.

Why would grabs need to be validated when they have no relevant impact on gameplay? Validation is for key mechanics of the game such as dead hard, silly.

I can't count the number of times I got locked in a grab animation, only for the game to go 'Lol, no!' and the Survivor runs away. And most of those would have been hooks that could have swung a game to my favor, so your 'no relevant impact' is factually wrong.

  • As long as some form of music plays, for balancing reasons, I could get behind a 'Use Unique Killer Music/Use Generic Chase Music' option toggle.

From my understanding of what was said in the QA, Match Making is currently broken into two parts.

The Matcher - Matches similar MMR players or ones that have been in que for a while.

The Checker - Guesses which side will win the match once it begins loading.

From what was said in the QA The Checker knows almost all of the time which side will win and The Matcher prioritizes lowering excessive que times over MMR rating.

My suggestion is to add a third part, The Builder.

After The Checker determines the probable outcome of the match, The Builder would take the imbalance and add things to the map to compensate. For example, if the match was determined to be more killer sided it would add stuff like more pallets, stronger loops, better chest loot, a further spawn distance, or maybe a BP compensation at the end of the match. The opposite could be applied if it was more survivor sided.

And....who does it apply these changes too? Not the Same Survivors AND Killers, since they won't run into each other again. So...The next Killer? But he's coming from a match he WON, so why would he get the boost form a Killer who LOST? Same with Survivors.
