  • I'd like to see something outside of just perk/add-on effects that make being the obsession feel different to the general survivor experience. They can't really delete the obsession mechanic because it's important to a lot of (mostly killer) perks, but something should be done to make it more interesting/scarier for the obsession survivor.

This isn't true. I fell off a hill which triggers BL & it didn't work. Fell off the side of the tractor while in chase too & also didn't work. So I think it has to be at least as tall as the top part of the tractor? Really don't know why the hill didn't work - I assumed if BL triggered it would work too. Otherwise I never use that Perk. :D

Hmm I got it on the game map from dropping from the top level onto the stairs which isn't a big fall, maybe it isn't that consistent then.

  • I got it without falling from anywhere that high, I think it just needs to be high enough to trigger balanced landing

  • Never heard them either, unless they're running and close.

  • Alright, let's fill the new map with corn then.

  • I couldn't agree more. And don't get me started on the trapper and plague nerfs.

  • I doubt jungle gyms + killer shack will be able to be broken, just some walls near busted windows.

  • No mither

    Object of obsession

    Urban evasion

    Sprint burst

Urban evade around staring at the killer the whole time, run away when they get near and repeat.

  • I like playing as and against plague. I also find legion fun though, so I wouldn't pay too much attention to my opinions.

I'll give it a try on PTB but this is legit the most terrifying thing I've read from the developers so far. The frustration of losing is something I've always been able to deal with, absolutely no issue, but to not even be able to hook survivors? If you get a good SWF it's quite likely you will get stunned and lose a hook like half a dozen times in a match, the amount of power that would bring to survivors....dear lord.....

I need to test it on the PTB, I could be way off base, but this literally could be the thing that actually does just turn me off the game, or at least stop me from ever playing killer again.

I mean they said it'll deplete toolboxes very quickly. A 3/4 man all with saboteur could be nasty though, even with a cooldown.

  • Plagues usually run an apple anyway, it's only a yellow add-on. Is this what usually happens when you go against an apple plague, your entire team ends up on the floor instantly? Because other killers can also get similar results when a team severely misplays.

Also, i just realized that Wraith will (most likely) be able to break walls while cloaked.

That'll be kinda cool with "The Serpent" - Soot.

Y'know, there's a Survivor in a small room repairing a Generator, doesn't know which Killer it is.

No heartbeat, no noises, no changes on the Survivors in the HUD.

Then suddenly the wall close to them breaks, and the Wraith is there, coming at them, already uncloaked thanks to the Add-on.

The addon that makes him break pallets faster could affect this too...

  • At least the ability isn't locked behind a perk.

So just escape a trial 5 times. Why not just say that?

Because next level will be the same with iridescent I assume

  • No reveal until PTB? Booo

  • They may be survivor sided but I really doubt there's a conspiracy to keep sound broken so survivor footsteps can't be heard. Survivors also bleed out because they can't be heard while slugged, that's not usually something they enjoy.

  • First try, the freddy had been on my team earlier and let me go.

  • An iri head huntress threw a hatchet that went through my tv and injured me irl, also causing the game to crash. I desperately needed to play another game of dbd to calm down but the ambulance arrived first and so I needed to be sedated as well as have my face sewn back together.

  • In fact it's very strange, unauthorised pc/ps4 crossplay via hacking sounds like the sort of thing sony would go apeshit over and bhvr would have to make a big thing of making the issue well-known and begging us to report all instances of it happening.

  • If these are all different hackers, it's a bit strange they all have the 'BHVR' suffix. And that bvhr themselves haven't mentioned it or urged people to report it.

  • I like to keep fit while playing dbd but I was briefly distracted by the sudden appearance of the aurora borealis in my kitchen and instead of my jump rope I grabbed my ethernet cable. Am I to be punished for my active lifestyle?

  • As a purple ranked p3 claudette, my blending skills are extremely powerful and if a killer finds me, he's clearly hacking. Although previously I could just dc, BHVR now expects me to just "play the game" with obvious cheaters. They'll be hearing from my lawyers. I also want a refund on all of the many brown cosmetics I've purchased.

I want to show EVERYONE here. including @ all DEVELOPERS , @Peanits ...

of WHY this sort of DC banning stuff should NOT be implemented. At least until ALL issues ARE appropriately addressed. Yes, this was sent OVER to the customer service reps AT BEHAVIOR. Back when this occurred.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/655/5VKXHA6DFQZ8.jpg

    Occurrence: January 28th. 5:56pm Year: 2020.

This person BLOCKED the player into a corner and they would NOT let the other person leave. Check the server logs. The player in the blue shirt had crows above their heads.

What made this type of behavior WORSE IS. The killer wouldn't even bother downing them. This is the storm to come. This is what we call "penalty baiting or penalty entrapment ".

This isn't a common scenario. I've played hundreds of hours of survivor and I've never been bodyblocked by another survivor or killer for the whole of the match. Meanwhile about half the games I'm in on either side feature at least one DC, and it's usually bc of getting downed first, or missing ds, or noed getting destroyed instantly etc. I would probably DC if the game was actually getting held hostage because there's no way out, but how often does that happen?

I hate survivors like this. They just troll and throw the game. Or they expect everyone else to hold M1 for them which is boring.

Also look at all those instadowns. Truly Hillbilly is “tHe mOsT bAlAnCeD kIlLeR”

I disagree with you on billy but I respect your willingness to keep stating it despite the ######### you usually get.

  • I feel like people are responding to me with things I haven't actually said.

I didn't criticise the survivors or call them toxic, I admitted they were sensible for using their DS to maximum effect (rather than wasting it early on)

I said I want DS to still combat tunnelling, I didn't call for nerfs

I did make mistakes in the game, including before the clip. It was a fun game overall although I hate playing hag on corn maps.

And while killer frustrates me sometimes and I was a bit salty at the time of posting I still love it.

  • Head-on is fun to use but was a really stupid addition to the game. A perk that's fairly useless for solo survivors and a excellent bullying tool for swf? Yup, we should definitely put that in.

  • @PrettyFaceKate said:

Why didn't you post the footage of what happened before that point? That would have given a better idea of the situation, especially regarding the Steve and Kate.

Meg's DS worked exactly as intended, as much as it sucks from the killer perspective. That DS is very powerful in the endgame is not news. That's because tunneling itself becomes very powerful in the endgame, considering there are no other objectives and it allows to secure a kill. It goes by reason then, that anything that works against tunneling (DS/BT) increases in power as well in endgame, obviously, while being weaker earlier in the trial.

I just made it short to send to my swf group and posted it here as an afterthought, but you're right another minute or so wouldn't've been useful. Unfortunately I auto-trimmed it when I posted it to youtube, I'll check but fairly sure the rest is gone.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

It would have helped to see the whole clip. With DS its often in the last 10 seconds that you get picked up. It may have been possible for you to wait a little longer in picking the Kate up for example and chasing the other person.

I can see your frustration. It must suck to feel having multiple kills stolen from you like that. However NOED is basically the same thing. I could post thousands of videos here that show the killer getting multiple free kills thanks to 1 perk.

Killer mains only have themselves to blame for DS. They kept tunneling and tunneling and tunneling really ruining the game for everyone else and then when a defence comes about its *surprised Pikachu face*

I'm not a fan of noed either tbh. Although bloodwarden is starting to look appealing.

Not a killer main btw, I go both ways.

"Sweating into a rank you cant play" ######### does that even mean lmao.

    The problems here are

    • DS should deactivate if doing gens, just like when opening gates. So 1st DS shouldnt have happened.
    • You cant slug people at exit gates, so DS has literally no counter in this situation.
    • Downing or hooking people has no effect on DS, OP downed 2 people and hooked 1, between Kate's got unhooked and picked up, her DS should be inactive after that.

Also what is your problem with M&A, Ruin and Nurses on Hag?

I didn't even mean to bring ruin, I mostly ran corrupt intervention on her before anyway but I haven't played hag in months and this was just the loadout I last used.

Although maybe I should be glad I brought an endgame perk, things could've gone badly otherwise 😄

  • @gamerscrybecauseofme said:

If this is the level of play all the GeN rUsH iS a ThInG, DeCiSiVe StRiKe Is OvErPoWeReD players talk about? Haha you deserved to get a 4 man escape.

4 survivors still alive at the end, I mean wow, you sweating into a rank you can't play?

You pick up a survivor, that intentionally baited you for the DS hit. I will mitigate this with being unsure as to how long he had left on his DS timer, but I will guess it wasn't that long.

You then down the next survivor, great! Then down the recently unhooked survivor, who was also baiting you for their DS hit.

You then proceed to hook her, right next to the gate! With another hook option further away or just slug her a little further away.

You then took the other survivors quite obvious DS strike, though tbf, there wasn't really many good options for you at this point, regarding Kate, but picking her up was just stupid as it gave time for the 4th survivor to unhook the survivor on the hook you just put her on.

You then down and pick up the survivor that was literally unhooked 5 secs ago....with quite obvious repurcussions.

The other survivor breezes past you, customary thanks for being a nooby killer teabag.

Where as, I would have left sailor boy with his ######### flashlight skills on the ground. Downed the meg and the Kate, would mostly likely have slugged the meg at some point between the back of the mound and the further hook. I would have then gone back for meg 2, who would have either been trying heal sailor boy or ######### around, depending on his proximity to the exit, I would hit meg 2 or picked up sailor boy, hooked him/slugged him other side of the mound. Maybe meg 2 would have stayed close to meg 1/sailor boy to heal/rescue them, leaving you open to the possibility of downing her too. You turned a very potential end game 3 kills, although definitely 1 kill, into a 4 man escape, thanks to your own bad decisions.

Survivors are only as overpowered as how crap the killer is.

Also, what the ######### was that perk loadout?

Chew your own fingers to the bone, they don't deserve to be holding your playstation pad.

Jokes, I wouldn't have done any of that, those survivors would have died long before the gate was open.

Okay, maybe not the friendliest response but I appreciate the input regardless 😄

Yea it's ok...I guess it wouldn't hurt if survivors weren't allowed to use DS to rush exit gates and put pressure on the killer. Happy compromise?

Maybe, I'm not sure what the solution is. I still support DS as an anti-tunnel perk, being tunnelled is grim especially with survivor queue times being what they are.

  • I'm happy with anyone giving me advice on things I could've done instead, I'd like to avoid this scenario happening again, obv. There was the other meg as an option but like the kate I didn't know when I last hooked her. I guess paying more attention to who I've hooked and when but I'm not sure I can countdown multiple 60sec timers in my head while trying to do everything else. 😅

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

To be fair the killer did misplay...they could've gotten their kill still if they didn't greed the DS from the Kate. Even after that, the killer still had a chance at looking for the unhooker. This video makes sense to me: playing bad/brainless = bad results. Simple, no?

:( Honestly I'd forgotten I even hooked the Kate. The last few minutes of the game were pretty fast-paced.

  • @LordGlint said:

Have you tried just going for the unhooker instea of the freshly unhooked? No no, not THAT unhooker, the OTHER unhooker... What do you mean they ALL have DS active at the same time and can now just nosedive the exitgate because even if you slug, they'll crawl out?

In all seriousness though, moments like this are just rough to watch. This is why some people will purposefully eat the DS early so it doesnt pop up at endgame...which isnt really a fair counter IMO. Thats like saying the counter to enduring/spirit fury is to stun the killer to use their spirit fury up NOW so they wont have it for the NEXT pallet.

Yeah I get rid of it early on if given the opportunity (jumping into lockers/doing gens in front of me etc) but these lot saved theirs, healed up and stayed out of my way after being unhooked. Sensible of them.

  • Not good bc it's usually bad matchmaking that leads to that. Had a few cases today where the killer opened the gates themselves. I leave, the other 3 spend the egc vault spamming and running in circles around them. Great victory guys, we defeated the rank 13 who brought tier 1 predator and fire up...

  • If I find a green key in a chest and present it to my least favourite teammate as a sort of anti-prize, that's victory to me

  • Nah, as killer the survivor challenges usually help unless everyone's doing a smash gens or escape one. As survivor it's horrible, saving your teammates who then let you die on 2nd or even 1st hook while they sabo, cleanse totems and open chests is pretty grim.

Fun trapper nerf idea: he can't carry more than one trap without add ons and injured survivors aren't downed by traps

    That's just cruel.

  • fun trapper nerf idea: make survivors able to go over traps with dead hard, so the trapper either gets caught in his own trap or has to pick it up. Although that might be a bit extreme honestly.

  • I got adept hag before the ruin nerf, luckily. Like with other killers, you might have to not play her properly and charge over to the survivors at the start of the match and start interfering with them instead of setting up. You'll want to run nastier addons then those yellow ones, or possibly even the ones that stop her teleporting but make her 115, with a map offering for the meat plant which is small and has some semi-decent totem spots. Also you don't want devour hope to survive too long. Long enough to make them panic and get off gens to look for it is ideal but too many instadowns will hurt your chances, and no moris obviously.

Ultimately you might have to derank.

  • It sounds like a good idea to me. I think there should still be a timer of some kind as well even if a survivor isn't found so hide and seek games with afk wraiths don't become common.

  • The experience on console (PS4 in my case) feels to be going further downhill with every patch and is the reason many friends of mine who were previously long-term obsessive players of this game have given up on it entirely. Are there still optimisation plans for console, and if so, when can we roughly expect them? And if not, when and for what reason were they abandoned?

  • I thought with new rank reset I'd never return to the dark days when I was in grey ranks and half my survivor matches involved a wraith standing cloaked next to the hook. What a nostalgia trip it's been.

They’re basically little pockets of survivor immunity littered across the maps.

Exactly, there shouldn't be any spot on any map where survivors can go and killers have to leave them or they'll throw the game catching them.
