Alert and Hope.
Alert is a must if you wanna lose the killer during a chase and play stealthy.
Hope would be great if noed and adrenaline didn't exist >_>
For killers ... DH,I guess.
I also really like Make your choice on mobile killers but its not underrated ,_,

@Gardenia is right, Killer is incredibly unfun in high ranks. You get looped and genrushed then teabagged out the exit gate with survivors taunting you in the endgame chat. Low rank survivor play has everything to do about skill, not the game. The reason survivors struggle in low ranks is because they have't gained enough skill and are new to the game. Killers in high ranks are there because of their skill. Say what you want about how useless ranks are and how they mean nothing, but you can't deny that Players in high ranks are better at the game than in low ranks. So the reason killer is so unfun isn't because they're trash or ignorant to do better, it's because the game is actually stacked against them and yes, survivors have the advantage.
Ranking as a killer its 3 Times easier than ranking as a survivor.
A killer can get to high ranks only playing Billy or braindead Prayer Beads spirit.
I see more boosted killers than boosted survivors, this because a lot of people only know how to play with their ruin, and if it is cleansed immediately they don't even know what "pressure" is.
Optimal 4 Men sfw groups have the advantage, yes.
Solo survivors however,do not.
You will always at least get two kills against them if you're good.
And you don't meet 4 men swf groups that often.
-
No,its not good.
Good killers don't need it.

Ghostface is better than Myers.

That was the joke

They're great!
But 10$ is too much so no,thanks :)

How are you sure that you destroyed the husk and it wasn't just the Spirit ending phase walk as per normal?
Because she was phasing at a pallet.
I flashed the husk.
It disappeared and I heard the "wwooosh "sound and Spirit's footsteps.
A few seconds after she appeared next to me.

Do you have a video? Because I'm pretty sure this isn't a thing. You can use the flashlight to tell if she is phase walking or not but it won't destroy the husk.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/607352#Comment_607352
I've actually realized this as a Spirit player and the counter to this is Lightborn. The beam will take some time before it begins to tighten, meaning that if a survivor does it while you are faking it will appear as if you aren't, which can make them mess up. It also means that if they figure out you have Lightborn, you can phase walk and when they go for the blind it won't work but they may think it's just Lightborn and continue to blind anyway.
I've used Lightborn before to mess with this and it's a lot of fun, but it's only really worth it if there are like 3 flashlights in the game. Otherwise you're just better off with some other perk.
I dont have a video sorry, but I swear it happened three times in a game against a spirit.
-
@Peanits said:
It's actually a neat way to tell if she's actually phasing or not. If the beams starts to tighten like you're blinding the killer, she's faking it. If it doesn't, you'll know that she's phasing and the clicking of your flashlight just let her know exactly where you are. F.
Im 100% sure you can. I always AiM fOr ThE hEaD.

It looks cool.
Its entirely different from dbd,tho.
Just because its a survival horror game doesnt mean it has to "kill" DBD ffs.
-
Its fine,tbh.
Its just a noob friendly perk .
-
And taking one for the team is still atrocious.
Yay.
-
So people can start overreacting even more? :/
-
Im so glad the OP got banned.
His super toxic bias was getting on my nerves.
-
Its perfectly fine ,Imo.

Honestly, this just shows that killers need buffs. If 4 survivors power far surpasses the killer's, then it might be time to change some things.
Because its impossible that the killer played poorly that match and survivors outplayed them, right?
Yep,every killer should 4k no matter how skilled the killer actually is /s

Leatherface can camp even without Insidious
If you go down near the basement vs him you are bad and deserve to die, he is the strongest killer for the basement
If you go for unhooks without making sure it's safe to do so you are bad
The only issue with Insidious is that it's very weak against any survivors who are even halfway competent
Yes,because I should let my teammates die because MAYBE that LF has insidious, logic.
-
I've faced a freddy with Ruin+BW+Remember me + chili and his Black Box ultrare and another very rare addons.
I was the only one to escape via exit gates because my teammates were noobs.
I even got BW activated because I wanted to tbag that freddy so hard xD
I still managed to hide and escape tho.
Endgame Freddy is not that good anymore, imo.

Cant wait to see the doctor turn in Legion 1.0 for how unfun to play against he is going to be.

I thought we were discussing balance issues. DCing has no bearing on balance for the same reason we don't take cheaters into account.
We were discussing how "easy" surviving is,so it does make sense.

@martin27 said:
I don't get how all survivors can complain that any killer who use NOED is trash but then complain they got downed by a trash killer. If a survivor get's downed by a trash killer doesn't that make them a trash survivor?
NOED is for when time is not on the killer sides, killers lose add on's after every match while survivors can save their purple toolbox to be reused over and over again.
Why do so many killers use NOED because despite how much survivors complain about NOED they'll never equip small game and take out totems. Yes looking for totems takes time but then you don't have to worry about NOED.
Lastly the best way to not get killed by the killer is not to be found by the killer. If you want to tea bag and loop every killer that's your choice but you can't complain about being downed by a killer when survivors now dare killers to chase them.
Your first "logic" is super flawed and if you dont understand why I dont even know what to tell you.
Running around the map looking for totems is gonna make you lose the game.
Small game doesn't even show you where totems are ffs,its gonna make you waste more time in the end.
A game balanced around the chase mechanic ,and you are surprised that people get chased when the killer can hear the survs breathing making stealth not a good option .
Besides why would you ever hide when the gates are powered? Thats super bad play.

It's only ever Survivor mains who say that Killer mains go "I'm a Killer main and want easy 4 sacrifices all the time". There was never an actual Killer main saying that nonsense.
Solo surviving is challenging because the average Survivor's skill has dropped considerably in the past months and you have to deal with potentially 3 potatoes. That doesn't mean it's hard though, the same cheese mechanics still apply as a solo Survivor.
If you lose because the other Survivors didn't pull their weight, it's not because surviving is difficult.
If all Survivors play intelligently, surviving is easy. That's an actual fact. Balance goes by potential and the assumption that players are good, not by how much the average player sucks.
There are multiple ways to see balance.
You either balance around the avarage player or balance around high rank play.
So I guess were both right from two different perspective.

2-man SWF, playing against derankers. Despite being a mediocre survivor, I escape more often than not.
Maybe the problem is you, and not whatever you want to believe it is.
All the DCs are definitely my fault thank you for showing me the path.
And I would say that surviving is not easy based on my experience as a killer and survivor because I play both sides and yes I play at red ranks basically every season
(4 MEN SWF IS another story, again)

Plot twist: I'm a survivor main.
Then you would understand that surviving is not easy.
Unless you find optimal teammates+you go against a low tier killer+ the killer is dumb everygame
OR
you play selfishly and hatchcamp everygame
OR
You play in an optimal 4 men swf group.
you are not gonna escape THAT often lets be serious, here.

Patches that nerfed and buffed both sides?

I can't take you seriously if you disagree.
Iol
Facts show that solo surviving is hard.
Surviving in a 4 men SWF group is another story.
But yes, keep the "Im a killer main and only want free kills " stereotype going on.

There are four of you only one person has to do 2 totems the rest just have to do 1. And as for the perk being bad play I am not against the perks I am about list as I think they are fair but they reward bad play as well so here we go:
Decisive Strike rewards bad play by getting downed by the killer
Borrowed Time rewards farming the survivor off the hook
Unbreakable rewards you by being able to get up from the dying state, getting into the dying state is bad play
Tinkerer overall bad perk but still reward bad play of not hitting a skill check
Dead Hard rewards bad play by being injured
Self care if you run this perk this is an actual bad play because you waste time healing
The list of "bad play perks" goes on and on
Aside from DS ,the perks you listed dont reward bad plays ;/
-
All those people saying "surviving is too easy" ....I can't take you seriously.
-
@PrincessPoop said:
Yeah I was really sad to hear that, because closing the gap between solo/swf should be a top priority imo. Hopefully they have other ideas in mind.
Yes,the Battle Pass :))))))))))
-
Well, borrowed time could activate before the rework when survivors were awake and they could only hear the lullaby so....
-
Camping is for noobs, doesnt matter if its fair or counterable.
Its a super unfun thing and needs to go.
Only noobs protect camping.
-
Lmao.
Did you buy those super overpriced skins for Pig despite her being already trash tier?
Well, thank you! We can now nerf Pig again!
-
Amazing how we need to discuss why Nurse is OP,despite being obvious why she is.

@Peanits said:
The simple answer is: Time.
There's only so much we can do with each update and we have to weigh our options. Something like changing the numbers on a perk can be fairly easy and just requires a bit of playtesting, but something like adding new conditions or effects requires a lot more work.
To take monstrous shrine as an example; increasing the numbers alone would not make it a perk you would want to use (unless it's ridiculously high, in which case it would more likely be used as a perk to quickly camp someone to death, which isn't something you would want to encourage).
In 3.1.0 (mid-chapter) specifically, a lot of the live balance time was spent on the Nightmare rework, not leaving much time for other changes. Completely reworking a killer takes a huge amount of work, so we need to put perk changes to the side.
We'd still love to revisit all of those perks, they're not forgotten, it's just a matter of priorities. If you'd rather see more perk changes, let us know and we'll see what we can do.
Considering that a good part of the "ok,but not viable" perks only need number changes....
Yeah,Im pretty sure you can do more than that.
-
Is the lunge exploit the one where you can lunge just before the power gauge is depleted ?
Because without this "exploit" Legion is trash tier tbh.
-
Its good for noobs.
Good players don't need it,but like you said, with Botany Knowledge is a pretty good combo.
This perk should be removed from the game tho,I hate when my teammates waste 9000 years self caring with sloppy butcher against a Legion.

This argument makes no sense. Doing gens is super easy. So should killing survivors. You have to find and catch survivors often armed with second chance builds, insta heals, keys, and BNP toolboxes.
Surviving in a swf group is easy indeed.
Surviving while playing solo,on the other hand,is still difficult.
And BNP is not worth it anyway.
-
@DBD_Pinhead said:
Moris yeah right. You do know a KILLER is supposed to KILL?
This argument makes 0 sense.
Just cause it needs to kill doesn't mean that this objective should be super easy because of an offering.

How about we address the fact that EVERY KILLER IN THE GAME has been nerfed at one point. That includes their powers & perks.
The dark times were real for killers. Where is the dark times for suhvivahs?
How about we address the fact that the survivial rate in general is not high?
Its pretty low ,actually.
Of course 4 men SWF is another story .
But solo survivors are not OP in any way shape or form.
-
But...
Exhaustion perks are already strong enough...I dont understand (?)
-
It depends.
If you are useless and you do not touch any gens ,but only clens totems and search in chests, then the "insults" you are receiving are probably just descriptions.

I can play Nurse just fine.
Its not my fault ,buddy.

Its insane.
Skins should cost around 7$.

@Peanits said:
There are certain things I would say should not be changed. Something like the wraith's bell is pretty safe; it doesn't matter what it looks like, as long as he's dinging it, you know what's going on. Same goes for a chainsaw; as long as they raise it above their head and start revving it, you know what's happening.
But something like a bear trap needs to be easily identifiable. You wouldn't want to have ones that look different because one might blend better than the other, and then you end up in a pay to win scenario.
It would definitely be neat, but my concern would just be how selective it would be. I can only think of a handful of killers that could actually work with that (wraith, hillbilly, huntress, clown), and that would leave the rest of the roster behind.
For the hillbilly head part: It's not as easy as it seems. Since his head is disfigured and attached to his shoulder, separating the head from the body isn't as simple you might think. Separating the two would cause a lot of cosmetics not to line up. If you were to compare the Hallowed Blight cosmetic with the default one, you'll notice that they flow seamlessly together: There is not spot where you can cut it off and say "This is the head, that is the body." And even assuming that there was, you would end up with a sharp edge if you were to mix and match outfits since they were not designed to blend together like that.
Trapper traps would be a problem.
But blendette and dark clothes in general are perfectly fine. :/

Noed 100%
