  • And what about that?

Legion and Wesker's power-vaulting isn't affected by it, and hasn't been for years at this point (contrary to what some people believe). Despite the patch notes suggesting otherwise, that's not a new thing and not a shadownerf.

  • Does no one test anything anymore before coming to conclusions?

If you equip Bamboozle on 8.0.0, it still blocks the window after you vault with Legion.

I've seen those pics. Honestly it feels like someone mixed up the text of the aura read with the Blindness effect. I'd wait for confirmation of it acting like that in-game before kicking up a fuss

Not my point. It currently doesn't act like that, it acts like the PTB version. My concern would be if that description highlights an intended future change.

  • There are currently screenshots from the game surfacing that show a description for Ultimate Weapon that is different to both what was on the PTB (and is in the game now) and what you propose at the top of this thread.

The description says that the range around the locker will be 15 meters, cause them to scream, and apply Blindness for 3 seconds, then go on cooldown for 30 seconds.

I sincerely hope that that version is not the planned one and you will stick, if you must, to the version with 32 meters.

Personally, I think both suggestions are knee-jerk overnerfs. Ultimate Weapon in its original would have been fine if it had a higher cooldown.

Fair enough, it's actually becoming easier to rank up because they're going to delete the ability to lose a pip, and it's easy to hit Iridescent 1 at this time as well. What I suggest is that maybe adding more steps before hitting Iri 1 could be a solution to make it harder to reach the Legend system.

Answering to what comes next achieving the Legend grade, simply it's something similar to a leaderboard and goes from the greatest number to the lowest, being number 1 in the score system means you're for that season the first in your region, this could lead to rewards obviously, but what matters is that you have a chance to see who're among the best players with you and they'll be known to the public if want to compete above, I think you can't really ask for more since it requires so much time and skill to get there, and the fame this also leads on I think is enough sort of.

But that's my point: you're in fact not "the best", you're simply the one who plays the game the most. Imo, a leader board is pointless for that.

  • And once you've maxed the legendary grade you want a super-legendary grade or something?

Joking aside, I don't see the merit of this and reaching Iridescent I is not prestigious at all, it literally boils down to playing a lot within a given month, especially once the depip is gone with the next patch.

The Devs actually mentioned that this map has new map tiles with 2 pallets. They use it as an experiment.

I also reported this during the PTB and they said it is intentional.

PS: "Under Review" is the normal state in which New posts are put to.

Not sure who thought double pallets was a good idea again after the mess they were in early dbd. Must be someone who is new.

Their point is exactly what they said - it's a new map tile. Meaning it's there by design.

Knowing the history of double pallets and there being a restriction to minimum spawn distances that is violated here, I don't think so.

Also, the devs acknowledged this as a bug, since it's under review currently.

Pallets aren't meant to spawn this close together, new map tile or not. It's supposed to be a spot in which either the left or the right pallet can spawn, to give it some randomness, but not both at the same time.

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

This is a new map tile

and your point with that is?

this sounds like revenge, since survivors had the upper hand before 2022, now they must suffer and killers must have the upper hand. how about everyone having equal chances? how about every side having equally strong and game changing perks?

Revenge is quite an exaggeration and I'd be quite interested to know what you consider "equally strong and game-changing perks".

Btw, equal changes cannot exist for two reasons: a team of 4 survivors vs. 4 random survivors will inherently never be on the same level of strength, making balancing that essentially impossible, and the devs do not actually want a 50:50 kill rate, it is supposed to be 60:40.

  • @felipesegatto1 said:

Im pretty sure a lot of survivors have so much to say about the game state balance and fun wise. Also, just making new skins and nice designed new survivors doesnt make up to the fact that the game is too rough, unfun and unbalanced against survivors. If we get the chance to say how we feel, maybe they will start to listen to the majority of players, that are survivor players

You make it sound as if they only ever listen to killer players. A brief look at DbD's history shows that to very much not be true. I agree that solo survivor is often a pretty miserable experience unless you have some good team mates that don't suck and run around like headless chickens. But other than, the game is in a pretty good state balance wise. Not optimal, sure, but much better than in the past and there can always be some improvement. A game like DbD will likely never be perfectly balanced. There were years when the balance was atrocious and we're thankfully long past that.

I instead of vaulting got sucked into opening a locker on the Father Campbell map where the gen in main building is during a chase. Get rid of lockers and chests for that matter near vaults. If you need that locker there for some.bloody reason make the vault a bloody opening we jump out of I'm sick of this issues that's been around for awhile on certain maps and yes I'm bloody mad I got screwed over my only kill because she did that on purpose.

This is more of a user issue than a map issue. I've been playing this game since 2016 and only ever once jumped into a locker instead of vaulting a window, since I don't usually spam the button.

To me, this is a classic case of PEBCAK.

I mean they always make sure there's a way to get to the end of the page without needing any DLC. It's a bit odd there's a master challenge and thus 5 rift fragments locked behind the DLC that shouldn't be, but it's not that big of a deal really.

    8 fragments, actually.

But they already said that they'll be fixing it.

But I got Claudette Morel to just p1 and I'm using her tier 3 perks on Bill.

The answer @Tyler3 gave you was incomplete. If you p1 a character you do indeed unlock their perks at tier 1 for everyone, but what they forgot to mention is that that also unlocks the ability for tiers 2 and 3 of those perks to spawn in the bloodweb, that's why you have the perks at tier 3 on Bill when your Claudette is just p1. Continuing to prestige Claudette just means you wouldn't need to get the higher tiers from the bloodweb of other characters as well.

  • Is that all you got?

I've never mained a side, I don't buy a game to just play one half of it.

  • In addition to what @Ryuhi said, it was generally agreed that the game was in an objectively less-balanced state back when it was closer to 50/50.

  • My guess is that the wiki's score event page wasn't updated yet. Iridescent Photocard used to expose survivors when their laceration meter was 2-1 hits away from being full, before it was changed to what it does now.

Before 7.4.0, that info from the wiki was actually 100% correct.

  • It does exactly what the wiki says: increases the duration of your intermittent invisibility after manifesting.

  • @lachenstars said:

Good news everyone! There's a screenshot of a response from Peanits on Reddit.

I can't post the link here apparently but I can summarize. I don't use Reddit so idk if you can search for the post for verification, but it was posted yesterday by a user Electronic-Ad9758.

What's changing in the next patch:

    • Removed the Condemned cooldown
    • Increased the number of Condemned stacks that lock in when a Survivor is hooked to 3 (was 2)
    • Increased the Projection movement speed boost duration to 2 seconds (was 1.5)
    • Increased movement speed while Manifesting to 4 m/s (was 3.68)

If this is true, I am VERY pleased. Basically 1 and 2 are what everyone wanted. Extra boost duration is like basekit Bloody Fingernails (50% of 1.5 is 2.25 seconds) and I'm curious if they adjust Bloody Fingernails or if it would bring the boost duration to 3 seconds.

Also, the wiki hasn't been adjusted since the 2nd rework but it had speed while manifesting as 4 m/s. Maybe it was wrong or they had nerfed it to 3.68 m/s and are setting it back to 4. I'm hoping it'll feel better, regardless.

I don't think I can complain anymore if / when these go live. But there are 3 small things I'd like addressed in the future:

    1. Make the TV spawn algorithm better. I'm sure this is not an easy fix so I'm not holding my breath, but it'd make some maps much better for Sadako.
    2. Turn the new Iri Tape like a green and make another Iri Tape add on. There are tons of great suggestions, and I certainly would love to hear that serotonin inducing BONG sound. Making VCR show fake projections to make it more convincing or buffing Telephone numbers would be very welcome, too. Her add ons are kinda weak and I'd love some more variety.
    3. Maybe survivors can only see the auras of powered TVs from 8-12 meters instead of 16 m. This could also be an add on.

That's basically everything I could want from Sadako. Locking in 3 stacks of Condemn makes hooking more beneficial for late game Condemn pressure. Survivors can be easily punished by multiple teleports if they don't pick up Tapes, as they should be. The counterplay remains simple and easy, but Sadako should have an easier time getting enough Condemn pressure to slow the game down. The movement speed buffs are welcome quality of life changes.

I think our feedback was heard this time, and I will give BHVR a lot of credit when these changes come through. I know the team is too small and there are simply too many killers and perks to balance DBD correctly - slowly and methodically. I'm happy they took another look at Sadako and even when they nerfed her afterwards, they are (hopefully) quickly fixing her again. I wish all the best for their planned Twins and Freddy reworks.

"Also, the wiki hasn't been adjusted since the 2nd rework"

That is incorrect. If you check out the change log on Sadako's wiki page, it's already updated to the new changes.

  • Nerf it into the ground.

    I have one too.

The WIKI is not edited by the developers, it is created by the players. It is not updated unless someone writes in.

That badge is in fact on the wiki, if you use the search function and look for it.

It's the one you get for getting to the Epilogue node of the first tome level.

  • What might also play into this is many former hillbilly players who had dropped him when overheat happened now returning to him. His rework is without question the best rework the devs have ever done.

  • I asked the wiki admins about this. These are copy-paste errors that they're still in the process of fixing. They recently completely overhauled how they store descriptions on the wiki and had to more or less manually transition and reformat nearly 800 addon descriptions. Mistakes are bound to happen then. As you noted yourself, the page for Rusty Flute (which has the value added manually) still had the correct value.

The wiki admins would really appreciate it, if people noticing these typos could let them know instead of not saying anything. 800 addons are a lot and they can't remember all of their values off the top of their head.

Edit: I also asked them if they could check the skill check values again. They let me know that those are still correct.

No need to take the wiki's numbers with a grain of salt, they're all datamined.

I agree with changing it for STBFL.

I don’t think it’d make sense to change it for PWYF though since with PWYF it doesn’t matter if you actually hit anyone or not (usually), you lose a stack even if you miss an attack.

Well, the PWYF would be mostly for the sake of making its behavior consistent.

  • Unfortunately, in their haste to avoid survivors cheesing STBFL with Plot Twist, the devs forgot that not all special attacks cause survivors to become injured when hit. Trickster's blades each cost 2 stacks of STBFL now. 4 blades and you've lost everything.

Why are y'all STILL complaining about this? BHVR is currently focusing on trying to resolve this problem and y'all keep ignoring that acting like they're doing nothing about it-

Since you quoted me as the original poster, I would like to point out that this thread was from SEPTEMBER 2023 and someone randomly revived it yesterday. My complaints were from BEFORE her rework.

I am in fact NOT still complaining about this.

  • As someone who was around when achievement hacking starting becoming a thing in DbD back in 2016, I can confirm that at least at that point in DbD's history, you would indeed get banned if the devs found out you hadhacked your Steam achievements for the game.

If that is still the case nowadays I don't know.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I dont even think they plan to do that, I think it was an oversight that now all 3 Tiers are the same.

But even if they do it, it is whatever IMO. Once you reach P3 on Doctor you have it on Tier 3 on all Killers anyway.

Why not? The TR modifier used to be the tier-based value, not the FOV one. It makes sense that they would revert the perk to that state, which the devs indeed did, if you check the wiki.

  • @kisfenkin said:

They recently changed the way stealth and the terror radius works. It may be that you are noticing this. When Pig crouches, rather than the terror radius evaporating immediately, it dissipates as if she was walking away. Standing up from a crouch could explain why the terror radius would just appear out of nowhere, too.

No, that's not it. What I heard was an immediate switch between layers, not a transition. It didn't sound as it would if she was walking away and coming back, it sounded as it would if she was teleporting back-and-forth.

Also, she was a new pig, she barely ever crouched during that entire match, not even using her stealth ability. I appreciate your attempt to rationalize what I heard, but that most assuredly wasn't it.

  • That info is mentioned on the very page announcing their upcoming release.

  • Sorry, OP, but you're misinterpreting the wiki's phrasing here. The "those" here refers to survivors entering the terror radius, it's independent of the second half of the phrase.

  • @solsol said:

I double checked ingame, and the description wildly varies from the Wiki one you've included in your post. The wiki is often off when it comes to descriptions, would recommend checking it ingame to get the correct conditions and effects of the perk.

Ingame the description actually doesn't show it as a condition at all and simply states that survivors entering your terror radius scream, reveal their position and gain blindness.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/E6JLBVLMH6TW/image.png

DbD is notorious for inaccurate in-game descriptions, that's literally the reason the wiki modifies them, because its editors datamine the information directly from the game's code.

I know how the numbers number, doesn't mean the wiki wrote them correctly (ingame its 5% not +5%) which gleams better information

    Agree to disagree then.

The wiki isn't to blame for people misinterpreting its information.

  • @bjorksnas said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3606955#Comment_3606955

5% implies a multiplier +5% doesn't it implies additive, yes it would be contradicting itself it elsewhere it does math using that +5% as if it were a multiplier instead of additive when writing it as additive, and saying +5% adding to a multiplier is confusing because thats not how its commonly used

That is literally how all movement speeds are applied in DbD unless they give a specific m/s value, which is evident if you look at the wiki's movement speed page.

5% by itself also doesn't automatically imply anything, it all depends on how it is coded. The original tinkerer said it would improve charge speed by x%, but it was applied as a multiplier. The next iteration was changed to apply them as an additive. The description didn't change, still said %.

  • If you want pips you need to optimize your gameplay toward emblem-progress. Someone already has linked the wiki page for them, so I'd start learning what best contributes to gold and iridescent emblems.

  • @bjorksnas said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3606771#Comment_3606771

Yep thats the wiki for you, it tries to reword things to make no sense but it even contradicts itself when you look deeper, on the movement speed section https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Movement_Speeds it does all the math with movement speeds being multipliers instead of additive like it describes there. Its just because they try to clean up the wording and usually buffs are just stated as +interaction speed because all buffs (except movement speed) are additive

The wiki's wording makes sense if you understand that all movement speed percentages, unless stated specifically otherwise, are added to a multiplier.

Yes, movement speed is a multiplicative effect as opposed to an additive one, as most other things in DbD, but haste too is an inherently multiplicative effect, something @Archol123 misunderstood.

When something adds +5% haste, it means that it adds 0.05 to the multiplier, nothing else. In case of a killer's walking speed, which by default has its multiplier set to x1, that increases the multiplier to x1.05. Nowhere on the wiki does it imply that +5% movement always means +20cm/s, because it inherently doesn't. It does for survivors, but it's different for killers, as killers have different movement speeds to survivors.

That also goes again what you said @bjorksnas. The wiki doesn't contradict itself. The "contradiction" only arises from your misinterpretation.

How the +5% end up being is entirely dependent on the killer's actual movement speed. For 4.4m/s killers it'll result in +0.22m/s and for 4.6m/s killers it'll result in +0.23m/s. This is pretty evident if one understands how haste works, which honestly the wiki can expect of the people reading it, since it has that information available.

Don't blame the wiki for user-misconceptions.

  • Well, it seems the challenge was replaced with "Back Off!" with 7.4.1

Whether that's due to the killswitch being active for flashlights or them realizing that it wasn't a good challenge to begin with is unclear, but the switch is much appreciated.

  • @Hunkulese said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3599152#Comment_3599152

How are trying to get flashlight saves sabotaging the match? Would you prefer the challenges were all just spend an increasing amount of time playing DBD? You played DBD for 12 minutes, have a cookie! You played DBD for 26 minutes, have another cookie!

95% of the challenges take zero effort. Can't we have a few that are actually a challenge?

Given your answer, you're trolling. Literally the only explanation for why you feel the need to assume I want progression for just playing the game, which is absolutely ridiculous.

But giving the benefit of the doubt: what these challenges always lead to is survivors following the killer around all game long while they're chasing another survivor, desperately hoping to get blinds in. That is essentially the same as playing a 3v1, because that flashlight-survivor will not be progressing the main objective. So instead of there being 1 chased survivor and 3 repairing gens, there will be essentially 2 chased survivors and just 2 repairing gens. That will only get worse after the first survivor dies, because you can rest assured that when the killer notices a survivor constantly following them around with a flashlight, they will make sure not to pick up where they could be blinded.

  • @Hunkulese said:

It's a challenge. A challenge. It's in the final level of the tome and it's skippable. DBDers will complain about anything.

The whole point of the challenges is to try something you don't normally do.

Learning how to use a flashlight is a good thing and also makes the game more fun.

There's a difference between challenges that can be integrated more or less normally into the normal game flow and challenges that require you to go out of your way to achieve something, likely resulting in the sabotaging it. This challenge is the latter and I will indeed complain about that. This is not a question of knowing how to use the flashlight at all.

  • Legendary is reserved for licensed skins, so it's up to the license holder whether they want to allow players to get their outfits "for free" with shards or for money only with cells.

CryptTV were fine with players getting the skins with shards, hence why Look-See and Mordeo have shard prices, and Naughty Bear, while technically licensed, comes from an old BHVR game, so it's their own license.

  • He needs a complete rework to his addons, his base power is fine. When they did his addon pass, they removed most of the small qol addons that addressed the inherent penalties of the chainsaw, without compensating for that. He suffers from that to this day.

  • Since I've played Demo, I've always used STBFL, still do. It doesn't affect the Shred cooldown, as it indeed shouldn't. There's no bug.

You don't follow the Demo around all game, you don't know how often they use Shred and how often they go for an M1.

  • There would be so much less successful trolling if people would learn to do the easiest thing ever: read things properly.

  • Oh, but when survivors "whine and whine to the devs," as you so eloquently put it, killer perks never get nerfed? It doesn't take much searching around the forum or the wiki to find plenty of cases on both sides for perks receiving nerfs because the other side complained about them.

The haste isn't being taken away, it's just more conditional. You could at the very least make sure you're factual when you go on a rant. Rants don't carry any weight if the reason why you're ranting isn't even true.

  • There has been content that didn't receive a teaser/trailer until the same day the PTB went live, it's not too unusual.

1 2 3 4 … 17
