In my haste I forgot to point this out.... it takes 320 seconds to fully regress a gen from 99.99999 to 0 with tier 3 ruin. Not 30 seconds. Huge difference. Facts matter
Doesn't seem like it's that long when I'm playing Survivor and I loop a killer with 90% and come back to it be 0% just because randoms like to twiddle their thumbs. Maybe a Placebo effect since I'm use to being screwed over.

Survivor main, killer main, equal main, makes no difference to me. I simply went off of what was written. I addressed what you said nearly point for point. You addressed nothing I said.
It doesn't take skill when all you have to do is walk towards someone to see them run off then smack another off of a gen on the way through to get 2 gens regressing for free. They lose all the progress of their gens because what? You had a perk and you were in the area? Ruin punished Survivors for not being good at their OBJECTIVE. New Ruin rewards you for just staring at people. The longer a survivor loops you, the more reward YOU get. What is the reward they get? Their hard work being regressed in 30 seconds from 99% to 0% because they were not in a SWFs and they didn't immediately search for Ruin. That's my issue with new Ruin. If you know its Ruin, you're always better off looking for it. Staying on a gen and getting it close to 90% and then the killer just walking up to you, forcing you off or take a hit/down. You go loop for 20-30 seconds and come back to 0% on your gen. Yep, he/she sure worked for that progress regression by just participating in a chase. New Ruin is just a bad replacement. There you go. That's my reasoning.

I agree. I never had any complaints about old ruin. I loved the challenge of hunting for the totem and even if you miss a great skill check, you can still progress the gen by letting go and then resuming repairs.
The problem with this game is how the devs balance it. Everything is done with perks. They nerfed old ruin, realized the new ruin was too weak for most of the killer roster, gens went by too fast, and had to come up with a solution. Their solution was Undying. That was miserable because Freddy, Billy, Spirit and Oni just gained so much from it paired with the new Ruin, making solo hell. It was great on killers like Trapper, Hag, Wraith, Clown, Ghostface, Meyers and any other low mobility killer, but most killers look at them as nonviable since they all suffer against swf.
They need to start changing things in the core game and stop relying on fixing things with perks. They also need to make sure that it is harder for bad players to rank up. I doubt they will tho.
I agree. It was a band-aid fix for a larger problem. Map size, pallet amount, hook amount and other factors should have been looked at to fix some of the issues but instead, we got a more annoying Ruin that rewards you for staring at a survivor and if its not regressing, you know someone is on it. It has multiple problems. I rather have old Ruin back but make the punishment for doing a good skill check better to compensate. This new Ruin is too easy to get a reward when you're facing a Spirit, Nurse, Billy, Ghost Face, Pig and a ton of others who can just stare at you, sneak up on you and it creates a bigger problem. Why do gens if you know someone can make you go away if you approach then lose ALL of your progress while you wait for the killer to walk away? It's really annoying.

Just to understand this fully..... old ruin rewarded the killer pressuring multiple gens absolutely nothing, new ruin rewards exactly that (just pressure gens 4head. Sound familiar), yet it’s somehow a free kill? Perhaps learning to loop would be a better choice. Really what you are saying here is that you want exactly zero consequences for lasting 20 seconds in a chase, or winding up in a pug with 4 survivors on the floor.
I liked old ruin as I thought it allowed early game “slow down”, but trying to equate current ruin with free kills is taking all the onus off of survivors skill at looping, and instead being lazy and saying “feeds most killers free kills”. As someone stated earlier, the current rank reset (combined with the horrific matchmaking) is largely to blame
I'm talking from experience as a Killer. I can use most killers and if my Ruin stays up, I 4k. I don't got to do much. Just chase the guy away and chase another person on the way there. That's usually enough to regress a gen fully and what did I do? I just didn't commit. That teaches a new killer nothing but to depend on a perk. Old Ruin was meant to go against survivors. Not babysit them. If you think I'm coming with this opinion as a Survivor, you mistake me heavily. I play both sides and have a ton of videos of my Rank 1 gameplay as a Killer who plays all killers. I also play a good amount of survivor. Old Ruin taught survivors how to become better, not worse. Getting hit off of a gen and seeing your progress disappear all the way in less than 30 seconds from almost 100% is trash just because a killer came up to you? Why use POP? It's an inferior perk. You're forced to look for Ruin if you want a fair chance at Rank 1. I liked the old Ruin and I was heavily against the change of it.

New players are the life blood of the game. Long time players leave because the devs refuse to freshen up the game play and provide more varied content.
The problem with that is, scaring a new player away from a gen is much easier and the consequences for them much worse. Old Ruin taught them to hit Greats as best as they could. This new Ruin just feeds most killers free kills because they don't have to do much but chase someone off of a gen. You take away Ruin and I bet the kill rate drops dramatically at high rank.
-
I want old Ruin back. Didn't punish people who could hit great skill checks and if you could, it didn't affect you. Now you just have to scare someone off of a gen to get great regression for little effort. I just don't understand why they were that worried about new players.
-
Same with me as Pig. My turning felt like I wasn't turning almost at all. I had to increase my DPI to almost 5000 to be able to play normally and even then, it felt a bit sluggish. (Edit: Misspelled a word)

Yes you could purchase outfits and try to make yourself look exactly like any survivor n the lobby.
I would prefer that it would choose a survivor already in-game to copy when I activate my power then deactivate when I'm ready to hit. All survivors can see their own outfits and having to buy over a 1000 cosmetics to match 1 survivor doesn't seem reasonable. I rather have custom outfits for when he/she is not in stealth mode.

Oh man dont I know it, I saw a lot of that during legion ptb and release. And was quite disappointed when Legion turned out to be anything but that, yo know. Doesnt mean they could try again with the concept tho.
Seeing a Claudette running in the wild and trying to teabag her to see if she's the killer or not but realizing its actually a survivor until a Dwight comes up behind both of them while they teabag and stabbing you in the back XD There is SO many opportunities to instill fear into a survivor.
-
I would like to see a killer who could pretend to be another survivor who is already in the game and can change while in the match. Would be nice. Scott had a nice idea for Legion to do that. Seeing a Claudette run up to you then brandish a knife would be terrifying lol.

Put it on Small Game, though.
I wouldn't be opposed to that change. As long as it's something to help know if someone did any because there have been times where I got 4/5 and assumed someone did the last one because I couldn't find it just to get NOED'd first then get left to die XD

The problem with this perk is that it punishes solo qs for being solo and that it doesn't work on a coordinated team if they are even somewhat competent. Doing bones is not viable if you have no idea if your teammates bother with them
I understand both sides and I wonder what perk would be the most complained about if this never existed lmao
Just add a Bone Counter. That's my solution and I know it was thrown around awhile back.

In which case, that's on them for being pallet saved, again still entirely possible in solo not just a SWF-exclusive issue like so many things are, can be achieved with a 99'd Sprint Burst still, perhaps more effectively actually, and EndFury would put a stop to it (mostly the Fury part of that combo).
The perk still isn't an issue.
I think this perk was created to oppose Spirit Fury + Enduring Combo by rewarding the survivor for a slam and so it evens both sides out a little.
-
DCing hurts your team. Sorry but don't DC so much. It takes time for it to decay. If you're that high, you was already on a long DC penalty before that. Stop DCing.
-
You have to swing before touching the pallet, otherwise the breaking will take priority. I know with Bubba, you still get a down and a pallet break if they're closer to you but Billy and Oni seems to ignore the survivor. I've survived a slam by an Oni that I was sure that I was going down for but I just kept running lol.
-
Down someone before nodding and moonwalking away as Myers to show my dominance.

I have never had any problem with Stridor, a good headset and high volume. My headset is only $70.

Why? Ruin is just a fragile HEX perk, it can be made useless right in the beginning, it's just based on totem rng.
Ruin is just so much better than Pop or Thana, you have almost no choice.
The fact that you have to use Undying and other perks to keep it alive is bad design and the regression itself is just too high.

You can't actually know the killer's ping because you can't see it. Stop projecting.
I know what latency is and I know if my ping is under 50 and I get hit farther than intended, its not my connection that is #########. It's the killers' side and he still has priority.
-
You should be able to kick a trap as Trapper and break it yourself so it gives survivors more of a chance to win against him because of how OP he is.
-
I wouldn't be opposed to a 5th perk slot but the chaos would be real.

@Reinami said:

That's not actually true, it is just perceived that way. When you get hit but feel you shouldn't that is latency not "priority"
It is when my ping is 42 and I got hit from 7 steps away. The killers' ping is ######### so I get punished. That is priority. I'm closer to the server obviously compared to the killer but I got latency? That's not how latency works. The farther away you are, the worse latency is. If the killer has ######### ping and the hit still registers on HIS side and goes on, he got priority. It's the same in COD.
-
Its the server and the killers' ping. Welcome to exhaustion town. Number of residents? YOU XD
-
The killer still gets priority on hits, though.
-
Zoom, Zoom.
-
Call me a sucker or whatever but I'll buy whatever characters they create. I've gotten every achievement in this game and character so far and I'm just too deep in to stop now.
-
Just nerf Ruin to 150% at Tier 3 and make base regression a bit higher so you lose Ruin but its still worth kicking gens.
-
No. That was a nightmare.
-
If you can play COD, you can play Gunslinger. If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a Gunslinger. If you can dodge me, then I guess you DC'd. That is all. XD
-
I really enjoy Huntress, though O.o It's fun smacking her then watching her throw a tantrum XD It improves my day :D
-
I do this a lot but its due to me putting bloodpoints into another character until the last second and switching since wait times for survivors is much higher than killer is. I rarely run keys unless its a daily or a challenge.

They'll have a large announcement on the forums which state they're accepting questions for a QNA. Follow the link to the forum subsection where these questions get asked (one per person, no repeats, upvote a question that you want answered). The most popular questions that can be answered contractually are then chosen for the QNA, and you can either watch the stream or hope someone makes a summary and you can skim the information easier
I appreciate it and my post wasn't specifically about you. It was many, many people that have been spouting this for almost a week now and I'm sick of the devs not saying a peep about it. It would take less than 20 seconds to address this in a post. EVEN ON TWITTER. What do we get? We get left with our own thoughts and that's a dark place, Karu. A dark place, indeed. I just want a direct answer. It wouldn't be hard. If I'm wrong, I'll man up and apologize but leaving us in the dark to bicker is driving me nuts. I needed a day to chill but I do apologize if you thought this was about you. I was actually mentioning the first post about all of this, that spiraled out of control very quickly.
(Edit: I personally like almost all of your posts and I stopped talking because I didn't want to let my annoyance about the context take over my opinions that don't really match me. I do appreciate your input on the subject. We both disagree and that's as far as we'll get by ourselves but I do appreciate you being courteous the entire time. You make me appreciate your stance on subjects without trying to bully someone or overthrow their opinions with anger so I'll always enjoy a chat with you but this one will not have a clear end until a Dev steps in.)

I'm not talking about you. I'm saying that is what I want to prove about the j-flick by getting a Dev to just come out and say it. Unintentional is not the same as an exploit or cheating. That's my point. I just want a direct response from them.

I think it’s intended because McLean said on a stream that if you flick as soon as you launch a lethal rush you will flick 180 degrees. It depends on when you flick as you rush he said to do the flick you have to attack as soon as you press the lethal rush button
@Chilli_man2400 Same but I want to hear it from the Devs themselves so people will stop making conspiracy theories and using very little context from 1 dev to try and make it seem like they're right. Drives me MENTAL. I just want a direct answer. Short and sweet.

Combine both statements with a small amount of actually thinking about things and you'll realise that the "unintended" thing is an exploit and then the second clip of "don't exploit".
For someone whose name is "AVoiceOfReason" you don't seem all to great at reading between the lines.
Because I don't like to put things out of context to fit my needs in a discussion. 2 completely different things.

The thing is, there's one major difference between SWF on comms and Blight's flick:
One's been expressly approved and supported by the devs (SWF on comms), whilst one has been expressly confirmed as unintended and unsupported.
https://www.twitch.tv/mclean_bhvr/clip/AmorphousFaithfulKleeTheTarFu-jPzbiLNS-Dku-899
It's similar to the Pyramid Head exploit; unsupported, unintended, and expressly condemned:
https://www.twitch.tv/mclean_bhvr/clip/SpookyPeppyTarsierThunBeast-7rDoj_6XXge-6uJe
(basically saying don't use exploits)
That video never said it wasn't allowed. It just said it wasn't intended. Never said it was an exploit or bannable or anything. Don't take things out of context.

This is what a swf look like ok? literaly next match hehe
SWFs are usually different ranks. It's why you get a much higher level survivor with lower level groups. Its to get easier killers and sometimes people like to play with people who haven't played in awhile. Its why you sometimes get Rank 20's with 3 rank 1's. I play SWFs at night with my dude and we get Rank 15-16 killers sometimes because my dude is a Rank 17. Sometimes its a Rank 1 who just face camps the first person they see. It's a toss-up with what you might get.
-
I just want the sound bug back where you could hear the Spirit every 2 and half seconds for about .5 seconds. Just enough time to be able to try and juke. That's all she really needs. Her speed is still good enough to loop back around but now you can try to mindgame with both sides instead of a free hit for one side.
-
SWFs like to have a high level player for easier killers.

But hatchets offer more value than a harpoon hit and they also have a pseudo save the best for last effect for quick downs at point blank. The loop thing is something that all ranged killers can do and, tbh, it makes me wonder if ranged killers really belong in this game. Autohaven in particular has loops that you get hit regardless if it's huntress/deathslinger. If you crouch, they walk around, weapon hiked and hit you. If you run, they let it go and hit you over it.
I get it sucks to be downed by someone you think shouldn't deserve it, but I have to ask how long did it take for them to down you? and how did no gens get done? I do think deathslinger needs to be changed a bit, a nerf here a buff there, but sometimes it comes off like some people want 1v1 counterplay that works near 100% of the time. He's simply not good enough to give a flat nerf.
He has more utility. Lower terror radius and even cross hairs for an easier aim compared to Huntress so I still will have to say that Gunslinger is better in most situations.

I played spirit a few weeks at the first of the year right after I got the game, became a survivor main, and then just decided last weekend to hit rank 1 on killer. Seems hard to pip or double pip with spirit to me unless you’re purposely going easy on people. I would get 4Ks but only safety pip due to not getting enough hits/hooks/chases I guess. I switched to legion on Saturday at rank 9 and hit rank 1 pretty easily by midday Sunday. Seems getting pips is so much easier on him.
I have videos of me destroying Rank 1 Survivors with Spirit and not being merciful as a Rank 1 and still double pipping.
-
@WeenieDog said:
I think making deathslinger's reload take 4.75 s is pretty extreme considering that he doesn't do anything but excel in chases. The man already loses generators really quickly because, though it's really hard (impossible at some distances) to dodge, it's slow to down because of his chase>shoot>reel>m1>reload>chase>shoot>reel>down>hook>reload cycle. without some buff, he's dead.
@WeenieDog Even Huntress has to completely ignore a survivor and wander off a pretty good distance when out of hatchets giving a good survivor some time for reprieve and to get on a gen. Gunslinger can just stare at you while you're at a pallet and keep reloading until he hits you. THAT isn't fun. It took me a long time to figure out WHY I hated going against a Gunslinger. I learned that the slowdown isn't enough since if he decides to reload at a pallet, you can't make the distance to another. You need some type of distance between you and him. Having a Gunslinger literally reloading 20 times at the same pallet until he hits you is the most aggravating thing in gaming. If Huntress could just stare at you while reloading her hatchets in front of you after 5 misses, people would lose their #########.

For Forever Freddy, how about add on "does not stack with other effects"? Won't remove things like Pop from the equation but will stop Thanatophobia or or similar effects. Alternatively, give it a downside like "Survivors automatically wake up after so much time" or otherwise make waking up easier to do.
Also, can't Myers already stalk multiple Survivors if they're in one place?
@Zeidoktor That would work and no. He USED to be able to do that when he was first released but was deemed too strong by the community so now he doesn't get an increase in stalk from multiple survivors. Only the main survivor in your sight is actually getting the full stalk.
