Only the people who are greedy with it will be complaining about all the time they spend exhausted on the ground.

Assuming a survivor gets to get DH off 3x per match, and a Killer on average deals with multiple DH users (so plays around DH 6x on average), I think it should be consistent for the Killer. Dead Hard was already annoying because every time you chase someone you have to do the obligatory 2-3 second wait for them to use it, now you also have to gauge their ping as well it seems?

Hard disagree, that's a stupid thing to say.

    1) Not every Survivor makes greedy plays consistently

    2) Just because the most efficient way to use Dead Hard is to use it for distance in advance doesn't change the foundation of the perk. I never understood how the perk literally explains that its intended for you to dodge a hit, yet people make it seem like 'greed' or 'trash' to ever use it for anything other than distance on a window tile or safe pallet.

You don't always have the luxury of using it for distance exclusively, as somebody that regularly uses it for distance. Every person that has ever used DH can use video evidence/ancedotal evidence for how many bullshit hits people have gotten and being exhausted on the ground which leads to early hooks/endgame deaths where you feel robbed

It's way better than the last one.

Remember that killers had literally no matchmaking for ages, and you'd constantly find yourself being put up against full red-rank SWF groups as a purple/green ranked killer.

Why would anybody have to 'remember' when this is currently the reality for countless players? Did you not just watch a Developer confess in front of thousands of viewers that the system operates exactly the same as the old ones? Explain how this system is objectively better please, because the reality is its a placebo with hidden rank icons to make casual players feel better and safe from criticism. You still have god-loopers (I'm one of them even though I get my ass kicked sometimes) that go against baby killers that are practicing their craft, you still have Killers playing their mains and getting lobbies of default-outfit babies that don't look behind them while running. Nothing has changed, its just a different name and no more visual indicators of your rank

  • I'm personally not that excited but lets see how it plays out. Call me negative or pessimistic, but I just view it as being real considering we're talking about Bhvr. I think they occasionally make decent changes, but other than that everything else is usually a failure. Ghostface is my favorite killer so to see him get treated this poorly is frustrating and makes me lose more respect over time with each hotfix/patch. Its crazy that Killers that have already received multiple addon passes/reworks/small tweaks are getting tweaked again before they finally decided to barely tweak Ghostface's Night Shroud cooldown. How are they doing a player feedback survey today asking about Doctor's balance when he was already tweaked a long time ago? How about fix the low-tier killers that need it because they never receive love before you fix what's not even broken...

I want to see every one of his addons reworked to actually be useful, we need an improved Night Shroud OR straight up a secondary power mechanic because anybody worth their salt eventually hits 'the wall' where you can no longer innovate/compete consistently against a certain caliber of survivors with a Low-tier Killer like GF. Its about to be 2022, why am I still getting exposed around a solid wall and why am I losing my power for successfully getting a hit with it which may or may not be hard to do in the first place depending on the team I'm going against? Playing against coordinated Solos/SWFs that are efficient and barely ever make mistakes is a joke with GF especially on certain maps. Even when I go against other GF when I'm playing Survivor I can't help but look at him as the Mask with the tongue sticking out from Scary Movie 1, that's how much of a joke it is to counter him on most maps when you're really good. Please give him Chase Music and a viable rework

Thats the irony. Those that don't want sweaty games will do their best to get them.

You guys are literally proving the point though. Why in a PVP video game should a person ever intentionally lose or put themselves at a handicap to avoid winning JUST so they can blissfully ignore the obvious issues.

You're directly saying "Dude, stop pointing out the issues with the game. Instead of fixing the issues with the game and making it more healthy and enjoyable at every level, we should all just suck or lose on purpose so we can take advantage of lesser-experienced players again!"

0 fun on this game currently. Just sweatry tryhards that need win at cost of fun of the game. First 2 games facecamped on first hook.

3rd game I face a Pig. At beggining of game I just approach to say hi by boop the snoot (it was 10 seconds in game). I approach her bending on knees and pointing with finger. This killer attacks me instant, and chase me on a dead zone. 2nd hit, bear trap and bassement. 1 just suicided on hook... This community it´s so toxic....0 sportmanship, 0 honor, 0 fun.....just toxicity. And game desing encourages it.

Sounds like you're just entitled and its a personal issue, not a game or community issue. Its okay though, because you're definitely not the only one based off some of the other laughable comments I've seen on the Discord server and these Forums.

It's irritating to most Killers when a Survivor only wants to meme and farm with the killer. Its boring, and its not what people load up their killer for. Imagine having some tough matches against good teams and you're sitting there changing your perks/addons/offering to improve after each match but then you have a group of Survivors that refuse to play the game. Not everybody wants to be a part of a TikTok or a Youtube clip, they want to actually try to win OR get their points OR complete their challenges. None of those include playing around with a Survivor that wants to simp for a specific character, only maybe once in a blue moon. For instance... if Survivors disconnect early in the match because I outplayed them or they just randomly DC for another reason AND the Survivors aren't behaving scummy I let them know I've stopped trying and I'll let them earn points with me. I'll give away the Hatch and let them open the gates if they give me some pallets/gen kicks and a couple of hooks. Sometimes you have limited addons/offerings too, so why would a Killer want to waste their limited resources by refusing to play as intended? That's dumb and only for once in a while wholesome moments. Its not supposed to be an every-time thing and its better that way

Dude, you were the one that said “it’s easy to find a group”. The person making blanket statements was YOU, we simply disagreed with you.

I’m so glad you were here to tell me that my unpleasant past experiences with misogynists and toxic jerks in the game is an issue with me though. Good job that you were able to logically explain that I’M the problem, that if I don’t want to just suck up dealing with literal children or creepy and unpleasant men in the gaming community that’s my personal choice, and then call me emotional for disagreeing with you! I’ve never heard that one before 👍🏻

Why are you still talking to me? I just tried to end the conversation and here you are still being emotional. I stated an objective fact. "Its easy to find a group in DBD." It is, and here's why

    • With standard internet, It literally takes 60 seconds to launch Discord, navigate to the DBD server and view the LFG advertisement channel. They have channels catered specifically to forming groups
    • If you don't like a group you can leave the group and try another one. If you don't like the other one you can leave that one and find another one OR you can create your own group tailored to your wants/needs. People will gladly accept the terms of your group OR they'll ignore it and join another one. Win/Win that takes less than 5 minutes to set up.
    • With all this effort you put into victimizing yourself on a public forum, claiming I didn't provide constructive feedback you could have solved the issue you're complaining about. I presented a solution, you disliked it and made excuses. That's fine, just don't complain about a problem that you're going out of your way to prolong. Have a good day

Everyone screaming a yelling seem to forget that this isn't live, I know people have to speak to be heard but don't forget that this goes through PTB before going live for a reason so alllllll the worries about Boon Totems will likely be seen too before release.

    Calm down people.

Edit: Remember how Lucky Break was?

This would make sense if we lived in a perfect alternate reality. The reality is that BHVR is notorious for ignoring key pieces of feedback and or not changing things from PTB to Live. They listen sometimes, others they sleep silently. Its reasonable for people to not put blind faith into them and to voice their feedback. It doesn't have to be disrespectful, but people should definitely let their voices be heard.

Edit: The same way you mentioned Lucky Break is the same way we can cherry-pick 25 different times they didn't listen

  • Its not like there's the official DBD Discord with channels dedicated just to SWF and Duos/Trios. Its not like there's unofficial DBD Discord servers that do the same, or countless Facebook Groups/Reddit Threads/Xbox & PSN Communities with thousands of members that do the exact same.

  • Funny, considering since 10 pm there’s been multiple comments in here by other users and I don’t see you saying sh*t to them, but now you wanna act bold towards me over a forum comment. The comfortability of your computer chair must be nice

  • Or how about you just don’t use Pinhead until the problem is solved? Lol

Plays blatantly bugged Killer despite bugs being public

Wants Survivors to play accordingly as if it’s their fault you decide to run a bugged killer that’s caused hundreds of lobby crash

Hate to be that guy but yeah. Just don’t use him, or deal with the survivors treading with caution because they don’t want to lose points or time invested into a match which is pretty understandable

  • You can watch hundreds of videos of people using a specific basketball if you want to but at the end of the day it’s not the same as you being able to hold it yourself, feel the grip and shoot around with it for a few hours.

That’s what the PTB is, I didn’t make the mistake of buying the DLC but I won’t make fun of people who did

Spirit needs an addon pass which 90% of the roster also needs. She needs a blatant visual indicator for phasing and a rework on the audio cue.

Outside of that this theory about counterplay has been debunked. She has counterplay, it’s just not the counterplay the majority of people want because they prefer a streamlined game where they can apply 1-2 strategies universally instead of adapting to individual scenarios. Learning when to walk/run or leave a tile when a Spirit stands still instead of forcing a risky mindgame isn’t a guessing game it’s having decent game sense and IQ. Not holding Shift for too long or too recklessly is apparently impossible for a lot of people, so is playing more immersive. It’s the equivalent of me whining there’s no counter for Trickster in a dead zone, that’s the point of his power and one of his strengths....Same with Spirit.

Your counter is to play more reserved/stealthy than you normally do. Don’t make careless plays that you do with other killers or you’ll get punished. This whole theory with only holds up if you directly compare her to other Killers which contradicts the entire point of having different Killers with different powers in the first place. When you put the real context around it which is that she literally removes the ability to see you in exchange for going invisible, you realize if you’re smart that this is pretty fair. Nurse exchanges movement speed and fatigue for mobility. Blight sacrifices lateral movement for constant mobility and insane pressure. Wraith sacrifices on-demand weapon swings for insane mobility and the element of surprise. Statistics posted by BHVR show that her main counter Iron Will is one of the top 5 most used Survivor perks across all ranks, she also has a game breaking audio bug that removes the whole foundation of her power which is to hear. If ScottJund and others said exactly what I just said, the majority of you would not be arguing against them, so do you really have objective evidence that there’s no counterplay or are you just parroting?

    DFC47295-1480-403A-90AB-24A919EED201.jpeg

Oh look, one of the best DBD players in the world stating the obvious. Spirit has counterplay and gets regularly beaten in both tournaments and public matches consistently. For every 1 person you try to name drop as fake evidence, there’s 100 more of us that don’t cry about it and instead use our experience to adapt and overcome.

I listed two perfectly reasonable solutions to make her more healthy and up to date in today’s climate. Outside of that, if you struggle to fathom how she has counterplay or if you’re one of those delusional people that still thinks she has ZERO counterplay that’s a personal skill issue. Idk what to tell you at that point, other than to get good. The irony about you saying I proved your point yet you literally did exactly what I said in my post: You made a dumb direct comparison between Spirit and any other killer in the game, which makes no sense because that’s the point of having different killers. They have different strengths and weaknesses, and they have different powers for a reason. Stop whining about a killer that isn’t even functioning properly right now due to Audio bugs

    And I'm over it.

Well if you keep running on the outside and wasting time with a double-double back moonwalk this would be the conclusion. Run through the inside and force a slow vault or force them to take a M1 on the opposite side if they wait on the corner to see your move

ah yes just adapt to a killer that is totally unpredictable, I should just guess better 4head.

It's not "survivors" or "killers" are "complaining" about something because it's the "flavour" of the month. People dislike losing a match simply because they were "counterplayed" by luck. There's already substantial proof and gameplay analysis made by scott, ardetha, and others proving that Spirit doesn't have a counter, guessing isn't a form of counter. You can't "read" an invisible killer.

Blight and wraith in the other hand, they have counters- the difference is that you can not counter them 24/7, maybe because you're in a deadzone, they have counters nonetheless... ignore posts claiming they should be nerfed.

Spirit needs an addon pass which 90% of the roster also needs. She needs a blatant visual indicator for phasing and a rework on the audio cue.

If you rescue a survivor who is trying to kill themselves on first hook, they won't return to playing the game just like you want them to. They want out of that game and they will make an effort to get out of it, no matter what, and they'll be spiteful about it too.

Dropping all pallets on the map? They'll do it.

Fail every skillcheck while following someone around even if they didn't save? They'll do it.

Spam loud noise notifications near you? They'll do it.

Lead the killer to you by "accident" in a chase? They'll do it.

They'll do more, too, but this is the most common things I've seen and had done to me because someone rescued them from the hook.

So, please, stop saving people who are trying to kill themselves on first hook. Your 1500 altruism bloodpoints aren't worth the entire team being jeapordised even more than if they'd just died. Because instead of the game becoming a 3v1, it becomes a 3v2, and that's infinitely harder to win.

Record them, report them, I don't care, just please let them move to another game instead of having them ruin the one they're stuck in. I'm so tired of it.

Nah I’m good, if I’m gonna be forced to lose a match against my will because of a selfish player that’s scared to play on a map (that’s most likely survivor sided anyway) or dumb enough to que if they’re not willing to play I will farm them for points and whatever happens happens. I’m not gonna get cucked out of points and stand by as they punish my team, I’m going to punish them by making them get hooked a second time or interrupting their failed skill checks. I don’t care if they follow me around or bring the killer to me, I’m a good looper regardless so I accept the challenge...catch me if you can

  • @Clowning said:

I would absolutely love this, but the argument that always comes up, is that too many Killers would lobby dodge.

Killers already lobby dodge bruh, they’ve been doing it for years so what’s the difference? You mean to tell me that justification for not improving the UI and quality of life features is because people MIGHT do something a little more than they’ve already been doing for a long time?

I think you guys like to exaggerate non-issues while ignoring the blatant ones like broken tiles and poorly designed maps that cause more disconnects/salt than the thought of a team being a SWF ever could. Way more people stop playing the game due to sh*t like that than they would if we know who’s in a SWF or not, considering most of the killers that play will play regardless of items or the team. It improves the gameplay 100% because you could utilize the 60 second lobby timer to swap perks/addons that you normally would never use due to the risks/assumptions required. This creates more creativity and kit diversity that people ironically complain about (wahhhh killers and survivors only use meta builds)

It will also aid in giving the killer foresight into what type of trial it’s going to be, you can then adapt accordingly and change the way you mindgame/pressure from the very beginning by using the SWF against itself. Gears 5 does this by putting a highlighted letter (A/B/C) next to the name of everybody that’s in the same party that way you know in advance you’re facing a duo or 3 stack which gives very useful insight into how to play. People also don’t disconnect often at all in Gears 5, I highly doubt highlighting SWFs would do much harm with dodging considering it already happens daily. I believe it would actually motivate most people to take on the challenge because they have time to prepare

im not saying you shouldnt but its obvious that someone wants tombstone myers achievement which is one of the hardest to get

How is it obvious? I’d love to hear this explanation, because outside of observing the way his hands are positioned during EW tier-ups and noticing his lack of hooks while gens are popping there’s no ‘obvious’ indications that they’re using those addons let alone using those addons specifically for the achievement.

Your logic only works under the assumptions that :

A: Theres no bad/brand-new-baby Myers that have zero hooks or damage because they legit can’t catch or stalk anybody

B: There’s no bad/brand-new-baby Myers that use the addons because they think they’re strong/overpowered/shiny pink iridescent

C: The only players that EVER use those addons are doing it for the achievement

If you want to simp for Myers and sacrifice yourself for the sake of an achievement that you don’t have confirmation of them attempting then go for it. If that’s what you think is fair then more power to you and whoever feels similar, but I know me and plenty of others will not give them that free kill unless I’m the last one alive and he already killed the other 3 survivors. Earn it the hard way like everybody else does/did

  • I feel like most of the people who claim they had a positive experience during the recent test only feel that way because as survivor they had killers who were good enough to get the easy hits/hooks but not good enough to 4K slug them at 4-3 gens left & as Killer they probably enjoyed getting more frequent inexperienced survivors that fall for easy tricks like moonwalking every single time.

Im not trying to insult anybody because I don’t have the highest MMR in the world myself, I just feel more people are saying it’s a good system solely because their matches were easier aka “more fun” rather than because they really believe the system is healthier for the game and better compliments the emblem system. Of course it’s a positive experience when you’re playing with your usual rank 1-3 buddies with 1k+ hours each going against a rank 11 huntress that doesn’t have the perks they want/needs yet. “But that’s how the current system works too” - Exactly, thats why I don’t get the hype for these recent testing periods. On paper it sounds like a great idea, but the way the emblem system currently works and the lack of context for a binary system like sbmm doesn’t work in an unbalanced game that largely relies on RNG

  • @MyersIsPantless said:

why? why do you feel the need to make sure someone doesn’t get their achievement?

Why do you feel entitled to the opposition’s support? if I play good every match to maintain rank 1 against decent/very good killer mains why would I willingly lose it and end my winning streak to help a Myers that’s using no-skill/outdated addons?

Nobody helped me get my adept achievements that took dozens of matches to get (Imagine doing Adept Trickster at Rank 1 on Red Forest against 2 Prove Thyselfs 3 DS 4 Dead Hards 2 syringes 2 flashlights). I’ve run into dozens of Myers that aren’t going for any achievement, they just want free tombstone kills or they’re experimenting so with that being said I’m not giving anybody a free kill when they’re at 0 hooks at 1-2 gens remaining. It cucks the survivors out of altruism and chase points and it puts a rotten cherry on top of an already boring trial. If others want to help hey that’s great, but ever since my experiences I’m just going to loop the **** out of Michael at multiple tiles until he catches up and then jump in a locker if I have to

  • @WexlerWendigo said:

I say this as a console player, but I usually leave a lobby with more than one other console player. Just from experience, console players typically die two seconds into the match, throw pallets instantly, refuse to do gens, etc.

This is even more true for default/free outfits Megs for example, and I usually would rather wait for another lobby than deal with that.

I really hope this narrative dies, considering I play on the Series X and I regularly outplay other console players and these apparently flawless PC players. There’s no correlation between lack of skill and platform, the only tendency noticeable for console players is the lack of ability to 360 and moonwalking mid-chase as a survivor.

I have DBD on my PC but there’s no cross progression which forces me to use the version with more progress which is Xbox. I have some shxtty games where I underperform and get rolled, but I never knew this was exclusive to console. Players are boosted or bad on all platforms, console racism is a trash mindset to have especially on a casual party game

  • I see a few entitled, inexperienced hypocrites in the comments above. DBD is an imbalanced casual party game, most of the players that complain have no PVP/competitive experience in any other games and expect it to be rainbows with unicorns every single lobby. I would hate to see some of these people play a 2009 MW2 lobby on Xbox, they wouldn’t last 20 minutes.

Tunneling can be annoying when it happens to you, but it can be countered with good looping or a protection hit. I consistently maintain rank 1 and don’t get tunneled very often even though it happens in streaks sometimes...so I KNOW these rank 10s-rank 5s that claim it consistently happens are lying. They make bad plays, don’t use the best perks while leaving marks all over the place but say it’s tunneling when they get themselves caught again. Survivors that don’t play killer love to claim it’s scummy because it’s takes away their fun, but have no problem hiding the whole match to hold M1 on gens and then standing at the exit gate to taunt as if they did something amazing. It’s not fun for the Killer but guess what, nobody shows them sympathy if they’re not optimizing pressure. I’ve never seen a survivor who complains about killer tactics stop working on a 80% gen because it’s the first 2 minutes of a match and going too fast can be unfun/stressful for the other side

  • I don’t know why people keep recycling this question. There’s too many problems with the game to warrant penalties for people leaving. We’ve all been fxcked over by teammates leaving but so what, Half of the player base is console and the game doesn’t even run properly. There’s gamebreaking bugs and FPS drops in every trial, if they haven’t fixed that then don’t worry about penalties

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

As someone who's almost exclusively played killer for a few months, including Spirit herself, its because she is the second strongest killer in the game while being easy and having very little counterplay.

Yes there may be killers that are easier, but none are as strong. Additionally, many killers that you have to do certain things against, such as doctor, are in B or C tier, which means although they arent the most enjoyable to face, atleast you can win against them.

Lol what? The Spirit is not impossible to escape against consistently.. I'm not even the best Survivor in the world but I regularly out-mindgame Spirits and escape against them because I play a lot of the entire Killer roster including her and know what she's thinking. The only real uncounterable thing that happens to me while playing against one is that I'll chain multiple tiles together but while traveling to another one she comes out of Phase Walk then hits me a split second before I can press my Dead Hard.

Although the spirit can be annoying its part of the game. Doctors can spam Shock with larger AoE addons and eventually catch up for free regardless of your looping skills, Clown can get bailed out at vaults/pallets by extended Tonic duration, Deathslinger gets bailed out daily with free zoning from spamming his aim button, Wraith gets bailed out by his lunge post uncloak, Huntress gets bailed out by getting credit for Hatchets when there's clear 3-feet distance between the Survivor and hatchet trajectory etc.

I feel like people just don't like the fact that you can't bully a Spirit the way you can bully the rest of the roster including a practicing Nurse, she's the only one that can hold her ground consistently against any level of survivor regardless of perks/addons they bring

  • I'd argue that PTB Trickster and current Wraith are just as easy if not easier so yeah I agree. I play both sides at red ranks and I have to admit certain things I do as survivor don't require much effort or experience which is why I don't criticize certain things anymore and personally I feel Killer takes more focus/effort in general. Anybody that uses any meta perks on either side or high tier killers can't ever say that Spirit is easy, because so are a lot of other combos in this game but they don't announce it every time it happens. Sounds like salt from people that die to Spirits a lot.

You'll never hear a Survivor say "We only did those last 3 gens because 2 of us had Prove Thyself and we rotated to double team the gens".. they'll happily take their easy-mode win and might even badmouth the killer on Twitch or their Discord call while doing it

  • I thought I was one of the only people that noticed, it was definitely part of the vibe smh

  • Exactly my thoughts when I was reading this post! A lot of people have this delusional view of life where being realistic or honest is considered being 'negative' or having a bad attitude when in reality honesty and realism is required for growth in all aspects of everything ever created. Blindly supporting/justifying things just for the sake of 'PoSiTiViTy' is extreme blue pill energy. I'm sure we would all spend any amount of money or time on this game when BHVR shows they can live up to their own hype/promises and stop walking around with this condescending aura around them like they know what's best about every little detail. They've had so many skillful veterans and former Fog Whisperers tell them exactly what's wrong while providing viable solutions that fall on deaf ears, but we're supposed to suck it up and sing their praises just because "they try very hard and they care."? Its their M.F job to try very hard and care! Especially considering the state of their product and considering the fact that in the upcoming months there's some good games coming out like Back4Blood (Launching free on Xbox GamePass DAY ONE). You don't celebrate a pastry chef for making a decent batch of cookies, its literally their job and its expected with the territory. Its very easy for BHVR to feel like Scarface right now because there's no competition, it won't always be that way and it really puts a bad taste in peoples' mouths when they refuse to be transparent with the community while choosing to only fix what THEY feel is worthy. People can deny these points or disagree, but at the end of the day when your most popular streamers that are currently/formerly sponsored by BHVR's Fog Whisperer program or that make money streaming DBD echo these same thoughts its hard to dispute

  • More consistent reveal mechanics on both sides, lower the cooldown on NS would be perfect. It is pretty annoying that Spine Chill still gives it away but that's not really a must like the other two

    @AJStyIez

I never stated how long their break were. I have friends who haven't played in months who were previously red that are now brown rank. That is the statement I made.

Do you have data to back up your fact about killers deranking just to farm points? I'd be interested in seeing that. Right now that sounds like an excuse to me.

I think both sides are in the wrong for doing this, and this isn't a problem exclusive to one side.

“Also just because you are a rank 20 with purple perks and items doesn’t mean they are new.”

“He didn’t say they’re new, he said they’re obviously not new because they’re running meta SWF builds and coordinating bully strats.”

Sure, you didn’t specifically say how long their break was but my point is still valid. If the OP is encountering THAT level of Intentional toxicity from rank 19s that means either

A: The people are most likely a Red/Low Purple rank at heart and they’re just coming back to the game to have a ‘fun’ time in SWF. If a Red or Purple rank takes a break from the game it would take at least 3 months for them to go back to Rank 20. You only go up one color each monthly reset.

B: The person is actively a Red/Low Purple rank at heart and they went on a suicide streak to derank intentionally. If they’re chasing you, constantly group body-blocking, multiple people clicking flashlights, splitting up on gens at Rank 20-19 it’s extremely safe to assume those are coordinated efforts in a 4man SWF. It isn’t often one SoloQ person does this and 3 other coincidental grey ranks happen to join in on the bullying mid-trial.

I don’t think any person that actively uses the DBD Discord server daily or watches YouTube content would need statistics to agree that its way more likely these players spent a few hours suiciding to get easier matches or to bully than it is that 4 Solo players coincidentally took a 2-4 month break around the same time and have high level team chemistry

This goes both ways and I’ve seen high rank killers purposely derank so they’ll go against low rank survivors.

Also just because you are a rank 20 with purple perks and items doesn’t mean they are new. They could have taken an extended break while they also had these items back when they were high rank.

He didn’t say they’re new, he said they’re obviously not new because they’re running meta SWF builds and coordinating bully strats. Somebody coming back from a break doesn’t go from red rank to grey 20 in one monthly reset, you only go up one color each time. The chances of somebody leaving the game for 4+ months and coming back to perfectly abuse killers in a coordinated squad is lower than the chances somebody decided to take a handful of hours with their friends to suicide and pose as low-ranks. I hear and see it in the Dead by Daylight Discord SWF channels regularly

The majority of the Killers who “derank” are farming points to spend on somebody because even a semi-afk or level 8 baby killer with 1 perk earns way more BP than a survivor that throws a match by suicide. As survivor you don’t get any incentive to derank other than to bully OR to get less sweaty Killers/teammates which is more fun for certain people. As killer you at least get a higher ceiling for BP and can grind much more efficiently

    That's not really the truth.

Basically as McLean told it on stream once (shortly after Scott Jund made his big video about the topic back in July), the issue is that when DbD was originally conceived they relied heavily on Unreal Engine Blueprints to run the game's various functions. It was fine at first, but as time went on, these Blueprints became too restrictive for what they wanted to do with the game (and maybe too cumbersome?). So they started converting said Blueprints into C++, a process that's likely still going on to this day. That process has been what has causing a lot of the issues.

I don't doubt that some problems can be chalked up to Blueprint spaghetti, and my interpretation could be off, but I think it's unfair to keep crying "spaghetti!" when none of us have actually worked on the programming of the game ourselves.

Watch out guys, don’t go into a restaurant and tell your waiter that your entree was undercooked because you’re not working in the kitchen helping them. Don’t give valid criticism to the sports team you bought season tickets to watch, you’re not on the field with them. Better yet don’t have any opinion or feedback on politics ever, you’re not in office with them.

@AJStyIez you have 4 posts lmfao

Exactly, That’s why I’m always getting back to red rank every reset and why I’m always getting better. I spend more time analyzing my mistakes and playing the game than I do crying about the game on the forums. You should try it, maybe you’d be able to counter the already easy to predict 360s

@ me. The new update essentially brought us back to square one before 4.5.0 because most of you are so friggin whiny. I actually enjoyed some of the new animations and didn't want anymore twitchy, unnatural survivor movement to drop frames and screw hits that should land. I'm not talking about Dsync that was awful. But now I don't even feel a difference with the movement at all. You might as well uproot and remove all the other things. I was hoping this would force survivors to learn how to use pallets and loop rather than going stealth the entire game, or being so upset that they got caught within the first minute of the game just so they can DC on hook. BHVR can't even even make a change let alone go in a direction they want because this forum can't accept change without providing good feedback. Like we can't keep the animations and have to sacrifice them for better turning transition? If that's the case then screw 360's, they're not natural. Killer was enjoyable but now we're back to instant killer queues and long survivor queues. 2 steps forward, 5 steps back. This is incredible.

    You’re soft as hell OP

You complain that 360s are a gimmick and that survivors supposedly whined because “they couldn’t adapt”, yet here you are not adapting to a supposed gimmick. If it’s a gimmick, then it means it’s not really meant for full-time use or as a primary game strat. Also, if it’s a gimmick then it should only work once or twice at best on you in a given match before you adapt. I’m assuming that you’re good at adapting here since you’re sitting on a high horse about other people supposedly not being able to

If you’re worse at killer than you thought because you got comfortable within the past couple of weeks just say that. When the update broke the game I personally went from Rank 3 Survivor to rank 6 and then pingponged between there due to pips being broken/not being able to vault/loop efficiently with people hitting hatchets or M1 9 feet away or around walls/structures/pallets. The fact that people are somehow twisting the narrative and blaming survivors as if it’s their fault the game was broken is pretty sad honestly and shows the state of this community with constant double standards and deflecting. I stopped playing Solo Survivor completely and switched to Killer after 4.5.0 . Not only did I get to rank 3 as a console Ghostface that deals with FPS drops on stupid sh$t like Bloodlust or me missing hits I accurately tracked because of auto-aim forcing my camera into a wall, but ever since 4.5.2 I’ve maintained my same exact rank area (5-3) despite having the game work against me. I have constant FPS drops/Losing pips and not getting them back because a survivor disconnected on the loading screen/Auto-aim/Lower ceiling on controller than MKB and I don’t seem to have a problem dealing with the 360s.

I get juked sometimes and they still either take a hit or go down a few seconds after that only rarely escaping completely. Does it look a little cheesy? Yeah. Does it matter? No, what skilled player actually gives a ****? Are we really gonna sit here and nitpick realism in a game where people have been moonwalking/abusing I-Frames and colliding right inside the killers body since 2016?? Lmao oh my god, this is a ridiculous new low. It’s really pathetic and that people actually blame survivors for not adapting, as if desync didn’t break the game during the same time they released an entirely new UI/animations. What was there to adapt to? Playing every match like it’s a MLG $50,000 tournament where you have to stress yourself to compensate for the blatant hit robbery and the rank system that punished you regardless of whether or not you did amazing or terrible? The characters were sluggish and the new features made it extremely predictable to see where survivors were headed plus 360s weren’t working more than twice every 30 tries. Console Solo Survivor was literally unplayable unless you prefer making yourself mad over having an enjoyable time. I was still able to loop and make good Jukes and even go on escape streaks, but it still wasn’t fun anymore or rewarding. Get better at both Survivor/Killer and stop being salty that you got your ankles broken.

Nah, I still say you should play both sides. The system is fine.

You'd get much more mileage defeating the grind by reducing bloodweb costs. Reduce the price of every item in the bloodweb by 2000 bloodpoints and a huge relief for the players not sitting at 3K hours with every character at P3.

No, the system is nothing close to ‘fine’. This is the blind undying support I mentioned in my first sentence LOL.

    *Logs in*

*Chase the Survivors for a total of 180 seconds with (Insert Killer you never use and have no desire to use either because it’s level 1 or you just don’t feel like being forced to play it)

    *Removes ritual*

*Hit 4 Survivors with the ability of the Killer you just confirmed that you don’t want to play as. Oh and this time you have to wait 24 hours before you delete this one*

Sounds almost like an outdated RNG daily-hub that pigeonholes you into playing either a Survivor/Killer you have no desire to play as just to collect a cheap 30k bonus that you should be able to get by choosing a specific role in the first place. Mind you this 30k you may or may not get easily depending on what the RNG gods decide is chump change considering you have to pay 4-6k per item for more tacky RNG nodes on the same strand as your desired item that you may not have to level up 20 times just to find. It’s all outdated, and the Daily Rituals are icing on top of that cake. I love this game I just tell the blunt truth

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

Play both sides and you won't have an issue with daily rituals sitting there and rotting.

Or they can....you know....get rid of an outdated RNG daily system that nobody seems to like except diehard fans that think there’s never anything wrong

For context, I play both Survivor/Killer, I have multiple prestiged characters on both sides and I still have to say It’s not a good system. It would definitely be on my list of feedback if given a survey or if I got asked for the reasons why I’m taking breaks from playing more often. If players only want to play one side whether it’s killer OR survivor then they shouldn’t miss out on one of the only sources of the main currency in the game or alientated for that decision. What makes it worse is that the rift pass is currently an unnecessary micro-transaction that will give you little points outside of poor quality reskins/other cosmetics that you forget about quickly, so you’d think one out of the two only outlets of bloodpoints wouldn’t be as inconvenient as it is. I’m not complaining for myself more than I’m empathizing with those affected by the Ritual RNG

    **BUT**

For the sake of this topic let’s be honest... the Bloodweb system is severely outdated and way too grindy/RNG which already adds to the long list of valid stuff that pushes players away, and if you’re a real fan of this game you wouldn’t support a feature that further alienates **any ** of the remaining players. If a casual survivor only has one to two hours of playtime in a given day but they exclusively play Survivor, do you really expect that they randomly stop doing what they’ve always preferred and what they purchased the game for to go ‘Hit 4 Survivors after uncloaking with the Wraith’ just to get a lowly 30k points ? That’s delusional, and any real fan of the community or player with 1000+ hours here knows it’s a bad system but will probably still have fun with what we have anyway because we still love it.

  • I’ve gone from Rank 3 to Rank 5 since the update launched. Not only that, but I’ve been playing an endless toxic game of rank-pong going back and forth where I carry my team and earn 2 pips (Only getting credit for 1 instead of both and the 1 isn’t even a guarantee. It’s given me zero before) or god forbid I have an average game where I make a mistake or my team is crouching in grass the whole match they won’t hesitate to take away a pip and give you zero credit for the survival emblem. I hit Rank 4 4 times today alone because even when I pip and go from Rank 5 to 4 it still refuses to credit me and will just keep me at 5. Switched to killer after that match and had a Brutal Killer that resulted in -2 pips this system is trash
