It should at least be 16 meters, anything above that wouldn't do much for him other than not see him all the way across the map. If it was 16 meters he could reasonably get close to survivors in the open without it being a free hit but also not be a waste by the survivors running too soon.
This is something i always thought wraith should have ever since reworked freddy got something similar, Like it's a cloak it should be harder or next to impossible to see him from a far distance.
-
well you aren't facing the best survivors and adrenaline vial is considered one of his worse addons because you basically can't turn which makes it very easy to juke him.
-
No, while the idea is cool the perk needs better aura interaction and the perk on a whole needs a nerf, it wouldn't solve why OoO is such a problem. here's my OoO rework i think this could actually be a thing.
OoO: when you look in the direction of the killer you see their aura if they are outside of 24 meters and are within 48 meters for 3/4/5 seconds. OoO has a cooldown of 10 seconds, during the cooldown the killer can see your aura outside of 24 meters. If you are not the obsession OoO has a cooldown of 30/25/20 seconds. OoO does not activate if the killer is undetectable.
OoO becomes disabled if you are on a hook or in the dying state.

I clearly remember lot's of people said he was weak or the weakest killer in the game.
he is mainly weak because all he has is a chase power and is naturally slowed, this means that as long as gens get split you win basically.
doesn't matter that he can end chases fast he is slow and can't pressure you all at once.
-
No, that is way too short and it would be better for the killer to just camp the slugged as 80-110 seconds goes by faster than being on the hook and there are tons of moments where that would just be unfair.
nothing is wrong with the current state of slugging buffing it for the killer is not needed and definitely should not be encouraged.

ya this was a test on how toxic yall can be
ok? my favorite games are ones like this but all others like this are either not as good, dead, or in development.
dbd has a total monopoly on this type of game and with all their dlc's and such you easily spend money on it.
my comment is reasonable enough based on that and doing something like this doesn't prove anything in fact it is pointless to be frank.
-
with respect i would put freddy at A tier, he is good but too basic so he can't apply the same pressure as the other S tier killers.
sure he has a tp and a slowdown but his power isn't as oppressive as the other 3, It makes him reasonably beatable and outplayable in chases.

Ds basekit once per match use, freeze timer in chase, delete timer on objectives. #nomorenoobsession
Survivors don't need a DS buff with it being basekit, even if it now deactivates when working on a gen that would be a buff to it for simply being basekit.
-
I figured that out when it was used on me!
I have a list of things you can do against the twins, i'm just waiting until the hotfix to see what changes.

Thanks devs for this expensive dru- i mean game.
I'm totally addicted!

So you want to buff a killer who already exels and promotes camping and slugging?
These buffs sound like the most killer sided changes i've ever seen in a long time.
How on earth are you meant to counter Victor if you can't kick him and he can be recalled at any time?
if the twins wasn't good at camping would you call this killer good or even decent?
the answer that most people would say is no in fact most of the time when they argue why he is strong it revolves around some form of camping, it's never not mentioned.
if they nerfed his camping and buffed other area's i would say that is pretty fair and better for the health of this game/killer.

Yeah this. Don't DC. DCing is for wimps.
Crashes? I have never crashed in this game. And I play 10 hours straight a day sometimes. Or more. I have also never been disconnected. My internet is pretty stable and it's just crappy third world developing country internet. You literally have no excuse to DC. If your internet connection is bad use a wire to connect your computer to your router. Don't game on WiFi. If it's still bad get a new ISP. Don't play online games with crap internet.
Let's be real. People who DC lost their temper after getting owned and just rage quitted. The penalties should get harsher, if anything.
Exactly unless it is completely out of your control you can't blame internet or software and because it's very rare for that to be the case it is not worth catering the system to those people since the extremely large majority don't have those problems. the only out of control thing the devs have to worry about is what goes on with their game or the handling of it like how console has to validate updates between sony, microsoft, ect.
If there is something you can do don't be lazy and complain, do it. If it's out of your control oh well why should the devs do something when your situation most likely isn't even permanent and if it is then too bad there isn't much anyone can do.
-
@nursewannabe said:

I'll stand by my position that if a system is unable to differentiate between a rage quit and external problems its implementation should not be even remotely considered.
you are aware that in today's technology it is easy as hell to install or figure out a way to make it seem like you crashed, lost connection, or something else?
it's why most games take that approach to forms of leaving matches it's because they can't detect all the ways around the system. If your mad at dbd for having such a basic and needed feature like dc penalties then surely you hate all others too since they take similar or even the same approaches.
-
yeah i had to do kyf today since i couldn't get a public game, they aren't too hard to beat if you have a good team and know what to do in certain situations.
I find that this killer is strong against unprepared/oblivious survivors, there have been good twins but i haven't felt like there is nothing i could do against them like other killers, there is always something you can do to prevent them from getting too much pressure like sticking in pairs when someone is injured to prevent snowballing.
-
@nursewannabe said:

No, internet problems caused by external situations are NOT on me
Not common enough to be considered so idc, what should the devs do to prevent that they can't.
if it's out of anyone's control they don't have to cater to it.
-
wow so sorry you tried to abuse lockers before victor could interact with them in the next hotfix.
A part of me thinks the devs did that on purpose so victor couldn't be dealt with so easily otherwise imagine the amount of players that would stop playing him because survivors started abusing lockers in mass like they tried to do on the twins release and in the ptb.

That’s pretty much why Trapper doesn’t fit OP‘s description: the survivors play differently when versing a trapper, they check areas, are cautious in specific locations like shack and loop differently which may benefit the killer.
OP is looking for a killer where he only uses M1 and the survivors don’t act differently, so Wraith would fit better since he wouldn’t cloak himself at all.
then a bunch of killers could do that just play a 115% killer that doesn't have an insta down or ranged power.
i guess i didn't read the post well since i talked about the killer that is the most standard m1 killer in terms of chases and how little his power impacts them against good survivors being alert. like even legion and plagues powers help out in chases by giving you injured survivors easily.
-
Across all killers i notice i run pop and bbq together a lot like on at least 10 or more killers.
I mean what can i say if you constantly play in R1 with a mix of killers and the possibility of good survivors going off meta isn't a option unless you don't care if you win or even do well. Also because i prestige and blow through blood points bbq is a good perk for grinding not that i don't use it's aura reading everyone does that and pop pairs with it pretty well.

Wow, your personal experience with crashes determines everyone else's.
For example my internet provider had problems and my internet went down multiple times last Sunday, which ended up with me stacking twice a 15 minutes penalty. Another crash and it would've been what, 30?
The system is trash because it's unable to differentiate, and in any case, in a game like dbd a DC for not wanting to be in a specific match should not be punished
your personal situation with bad internet is on you and doesn't even represent half of the player base
if it's something you can fix then the game doesn't have to cater to you, if your in a really bad area then too bad that isn't common enough to be considered.
edit: also wow 15 minutes yeah no the first is a 5 minute, then 15, then 30, then it goes into hours. It's not a problem if you crash or something like once or twice a day just take a break go grab a snack and browse the forums or something.
-
The most pure m1 killer is trapper since his power is situational.
You can't expect your traps not to get disarmed or even for a majority of your chases to result in them stepping in a trap without some insane favor from the goddess of luck. that makes him a pure m1 killer for a large majority of the chases in a match which is why he is considered weak.
Wraith gets free hits often and can use his power to uncloak at small loops so he isn't a true killer without a power.
The twins while they can be a pure m1 killer for 50 seconds at a time they aren't like that for the majority of the match so i wouldn't consider them a pure m1 killer.
edit: good survivors vs trappers look at the loops near the gen they will work on ahead of time to make sure there are no traps so until they go to a area they haven't checked and there's a trap there you are literally a pure m1 killer.

Dc penalties removed
don't dc. crashes don't happen enough to be a problem the most crashes i had in a day was 3 from literally playing for about 10 hours. With back to back matches as killer in high ranks so i wasn't in the lobby very long.
As long as you don't dc it is not an issue even if you crash as you can take a break for a bit and return to play.
-
A list of all things i want.
- The "trail start up" idea to be a thing, basically gen speed is reduced to half until 2 minutes pass or a survivor gets downed. Would help a lot of killers along with the 3-2 gens getting done situation where nothing you could have done would have stopped it.
- DS being deactivated when working on a gen, heavily prevents it's MAIN abuse of doing gens off hook. This would force survivors to at least recover first or do other things besides the main objective.
- A key rework that follows something similar to my rework as it NEEDS killer interaction to be balanced(as in the hatch can be prevented from being opened if you stop it) https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/208357/my-full-key-rework-idea-what-do-you-guys-think-of-it#latest
- OoO to be reworked in a way that makes it less abusive and allows solo's to use it, what it needs is a range restriction and a HEAVY danger that is greater than the info it provides. in other words good info for high risk.
- More small buff's/changes to killers who could use them instead of waiting a whole year for a rework. i get it's effective to look at a killer all the way through and adjust everything but giving them a small buff or nerf to a addon that is problematic isn't a bad idea.

Just want to say removing perk tiers is a horrible decision as it removes heavy grind which increases meta usage. A better solution is a perk upgrade system you could use for perks you get in the blood web for a high price like this. Something does need to be done about the grinding but making meta available to everyone early is not a good call. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/206778/a-perk-upgrade-system-would-help-with-the-amount-of-grinding-in-this-game-and-better-prestiging#latest.

"I'm pretty sure true blight is from repeated usage of the serum not his first use of it otherwise he would look like true blight in the trailer but he has his default skin instead."
You wouldn't be saying this if you saw the Doors Unknown cinematic. It's clear as day how Talbot became True Blight. The point of my comment towards you wasn't about the effects reverting, it was about your total lack of understanding on how Talbot's first true exposure to "lethal" amounts of serum affected him, causing him to change into the True Blight we see. And since that was his first transformation, and the cinematic trailer for Descend Beyond shows him in his human form, the only logical conclusion to make is that the effects wear off after a time.
Unless you think the cinematic wasn't canon which makes zero sense since every other chapter cinematic is official in context to the story of the update and the characters included.
you just ignored what i said about it being in his head but whatever it doesn't matter since it's all theories and nothing is set in stone. for all we know it could be another blight from a different dimension or something and guess what? that is just as likely since the latest archives revealed that there is multiple claudettes. edit: which means multiple versions of all characters.
-
my problem with oppression is that 80 seconds while ok against normal survivors is too long against good survivors focused on gens. you get the perk to activate at most 6 times and when it does it barely affects how fast the gens are getting done and there is no guarantee that the survivors miss the skill check.
coup de grace is a fun perk i agree my problem with it is i barely get hits with it i wouldn't have gotten anyway which wastes my tokens. In the 4 games i tried to get adept i only got 2-3 hits i wouldn't have gotten without it. if this perk gave us more tokens i think it would be a lot better but 5 uses with some being wasted makes it not worth using.
hoarder doesn't fit with any meta or build, the perk is a outlier that is only used if you feel like using it, the best it does is give info rarely and also reduces item rarity which i guess is nice but as said not really worth running unless you have a perk slot free to use as a wild card. Also yeah once a game if your near you can get a survivor in basement but i wouldn't run a perk just for that.

nice no come back just bland words that are no different than "don't miss" good job failing to provide anything to your argument it's no different than saying "no it's not" without providing reasoning.
I haven't watched anything since the ptb nor have i came up with all my counter arguments from others, everything is from my experience with and against the twins.
I have literally been joining KYF lobbies to see what others think of him and so i can test out some of my own strats and the conclusion i have is that they are weak when the survivors play well and know what to do in situations against the twins.

How is it my fault for not being wary of the perk? I was literally wary in the first place, hence why I slugged her when I downed her after hooking the Ash. How was I supposed to know that after everything I did in the clip she was STILL going to have Decisive? You'd think with all that happened that by the time everyone was downed it would've deactivated.
"all you had to do was wait on top and hit her if she did have unbreakable" okay then Mr. Hindsight what if she had Soul Guard too? Then she can just take a hit and pick the others up.
Also, by the end of the clip, not only do I have to be wary of Nea having DS, I also have to be wary of the Ash having DS too because of the poor save by Zarina.
the fact is you misjudged the time wither you were wary or not doesn't matter it's your fault that you got hit by DS deal with it.
Also if she did have soul guard cool she just used 3 perks for a 1 time effect, soul guard is extremely situational so it should be strong and also at his point is it almost like your making any excuse to justify having to pick her up early which resulted in your getting stunned.
the perk worked as intended the fault lies within yourself stop making excuses to justify your messup.

Have you seen the "Doors Unknown" cinematic? You wouldn't be saying this if you had.
i have and nothing there proves killers revert or recover from the serum effects.
as far as any of us are aware that might have all been in his head, and again the fact that he constantly uses the serum makes it unlikely that he could recover and revert back to a survivor.
From my view all killer blight cosmetics are how they actually look now after they got injected, there is no prove to disprove this and while you might be right that they can recover that is as i said very unlikely for blight.

@Mikeadatrix said:
Talbot has been referred to multiple times by BHVR as their version of a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type killer. Although it seems disjointed and weird to go from survivor Talbot to voided survivor Talbot to True Blight, it makes sense if you consider True Blight as Talbot's first real taste of what the serum can do a person, specifically himself. The effects most likely "wore off" and he reverted back to "survivor" Talbot, same way the Blight serum wears off on the killers Talbot experimented on since time in the realm of the Entity is anything but permanent. The difference being that his mind and mental state stayed corrupted, leading to him taking more serum in the Chapel as shown in the release trailer, giving us the Blight we as the default version of Talbot's killer side.
I thought he experimented on the killers and before his mind broke he used it on himself. Also does it ever mention the serum "wearing off" because i think that is super unlikely considering how when he is blight he is basically a drug addict taking serum every 10 seconds.
I'm pretty sure true blight is from repeated usage of the serum not his first use of it otherwise he would look like true blight in the trailer but he has his default skin instead.

lol thats how i got it by just using a med kit with 2 heals.

the counter play is simply to be healthy it gives victor only two options
- let the save happen and down the unhooked
- latch onto the savior
he can't prevent the save and if he downs the unhooked the savior can simply crush him then heal the unhooked, there is your counter play.

The Twins were made to be perfect to camp/slug, way better then what old leatherface could, but for some reason BHVR didn't see that.
And this is exactly the reason why so many of us say that BHVR doesn't play their own game or even when they do, they play horribly and this is just more evidence to it.
yeah no, unless it is at basement victor is worse at camping compared to bubba and hag because he can't stop saves vs healthy survivors and if your camping with charlotte they not only have distance because you were only alerted when the save happened but your also chasing as a basic m1 killer.
also if your too far from the hook the savior will just let you down the unhooked survivor, crush victor, then heal that survivor back up so you wasted your time mainly.

guess Heres a better example then. If i kept her on the ground she had unbreakable and bt so shed just get up and unhook the survivor on the ground i pick her up when she basically throws herself at me and i get dsd for it? Luckily ds was glitched at this time and only hit me with 3 seconds
did i ever say DS+UB is not a problem? DS is fine sure it needs some limitations but it's timer and punishment for the killer is fair and avoidable. Also she didn't get the save and even if she did she couldn't have gotten away so this is yet another example on why ds is fair regarding it's interaction as even if she did get that vault nothing of value was lost and your chasing a injured survivor who is now hookable right away.
Is your only argument the example of extreme abuse? because that can be addressed and again YOUR IGNORING THE ORIGINAL ARGUMENT.
edit: this is literally the same as finding a injured survivor after you hooked someone, your video proves nothing.

Why was pop nerfed again?
because it had a long activation period that allowed for extra options however DS isn't the same as pop it's only similarity is it's activation time.
I'm not saying that something doesn't have to be done about DS's activation however everything about how this perk interacts with the killer is fair. The only nerf i would want to see is it being deactivated if a survivor repairs a gen for a total of say 3 seconds so you can't get progress on gens while still having a safety net.
but no i believe what has happened in this video is fair and the fault lies with the killer, in no way does it demonstrate how DS is unfair since it could have been prevented without consequence for the killer. good try trying to use faulty logic tho that ignores what we are talking about and throws reasoning out the window.

Ah yes "its your own fault for downing everyone else and hooking someone else and getting hit ds from before all that even happened which you in no way tunneled considering you hooked 2 other people and downed everyone else gg ez"
bruh it's his fault for not being careful, the perk is on a timer if you can't acknowledge that then you can't say anything.
it is a undeniable fact that he got hit by ds for not being careful and had the time and was in the position to wait it out.
-
hag is better
If you camp an open hook with victor he can't prevent the save against a healthy survivor all that survivor has to do is wait until you hit them then do the save. victor can't switch if he is near the hook and charlotte can't be near the hook.
If it's in basement charlotte is the best to camp it but if a healthy survivor takes victor you just basement camping.
Now why is hag better? can camp the whole area around the survivor which is better than the twins can do and in basement she can prevent the save and get the savior. she doesn't even have to be at shack just near it and can do just as well as charlotte if charlotte tries to stop the save after it happens in fact hag has a better chance to get both survivors.
edit: if a killer can't prevent the save or get both the survivors they are not the best, bubba is even better since he an just outright kill the survivor by camping with no way to save them without getting downed yourself.
-
simply could have waited slightly longer, it's your own fault for not being wary of the perk. As you waited all you had to do was wait on top of her and hit her if she did indeed have unbreakable, i've been in this exact situation and the survivor did have unbreakable and i had no trouble dealing with it.
Not saying the perk combo is healthy but if all the other survivors are disabled you can wait some so 20 seconds on top of the survivor.

The Hag is one of the most underrated killers in the game
So true, i'm actually a hag main but for any hag that is playing her camp style to me is a trash hag, she can chase you just have to set it up.
edit: camp style as in setting up a trap or multiple and staying close enough so they can't do a save and get out of the trap's range before you make it to them. Another one is just always trying to use the basement to win to the point where you will go out of your way to make it happen.
-
No i'll continue to use it because i don't think the devs will nerf anything regarding it's activation. I think they will limit how it can be used such as it's being active when on a gen but everything else about it is fair.
also before some idiot replies NO, having it deactivate after another survivor is hooked is stupid. There are too many situations where the killer is still tunneling or camping and slugs you before quickly downing another survivor then rehooking you. ignoring that or saying that's fine shows you just want to tunnel freely or you want to reserve your undeserved pressure.
-
he is at a good power level the problem is he is just so easy to play, there isn't much in terms of strats besides well done gen tp's.
Like im all for buffs but don't make the killer brain dead easy to play and good, it's why he has such a high kill rate it's because it's hard to do bad with him.

If they want to leave victor on them let them, its a 3v1 at that point and actively go for the rest. So easy. Its almost always worse for the survivors to keep victor on. Playing killer is about adapting at this point. The devs have already shown their survivor bias earlier this year with the doc changes and how they worded the notes in terms of wanting survivors to have fun
that is not true dude take a look at the ptb, it is NOT worth not having a power for just 1 survivor to be injured unable to do gens but still do saves.
that kind of logic is how old freddy won games, by having at least 3 survivors asleep and at least 50% less repair speed across the board while occasionally getting an injure when a survivor enters dream world, charlotte is weaker than that ffs and she definitely doesn't have that kind of antigen with just victor.
Also freddy juggled survivors constantly keeping survivors asleep because if you forgot getting a skill check was way less likely so it was hard to wake up. the twins also try to juggle survivors but she can't do it better than old freddy.
-
good camping killers can prevent the save, if you letting the save happen then that is not a good camper, the twins are only good if the camping is happening in the basement since charlotte can get one or both survivors.
bubba can totally prevent a save
hag can stop the save from happening as she patrols nearby or at least get the savior and has stronger basement camping which can easily result in the savior failing and also getting hooked.
the twins can have charlotte nearby to try and get one of the survivors or if camping with victor he either downs a injured survivor going for the save or he latches onto the savior, i have played against a camping victor and if im healed i don't unhook the survivor until he latches onto me so he can't down the other survivor. In other words they have counter play. edit: at least in every instance where charlotte isn't camping basement.

Plague is the definition of an m1 killer imo.
Without using her 1 free fountain, once everyone is sick all you can do is m1. m2 does nothing for you at that point. Yes it makes them easier to down but you're doing nothing but m1ing them.
Actually it's trapper, his power is situational so unless a survivor goes into a trap your just a m1 killer through and through. It's not realistic to expect every or even most of your chases to result in a survivor going into a trap.
plagues power makes everyone injured and easy to find not to mention she is a power house if she uses corrupt purge. while she does have to m1 survivors still that applies to other killers as well but plagues power is helping you in a chase by keeping everyone injured and easy to find.
