The problem is a lot of survivors are acting like DS has only ever been nerfed multiple times and using that idea to base off what's going to happen in the future. DS nerfed and stays nerfed.
Its the fact that it has been nerfed multiple times that they are acting like this they think it is fine as it is. they don't think it needs a buff they are aware it is strong they just don't want to lose a viable perk.
-
we are aware it is subject to change but the other two points don't matter.
When discussing it's changes we should only focus on what is presented to us and how it is compared to what it used to be, changes that are previous to the current one don't matter.

This. They need to remove the timer, and make it deactivate solely based on doing any progressive interaction that other than being chased by the killer/vaulting/pallets/etc.
Also not opposed to it being active after both hooks, because again, as long as you aren't progressing the objectives, I see no harm in it being active if the killer decides to come after you repeatedly.
the only other interaction missing is looting and that doesn't progress the game.
arguably healing doesn't progress the game because you don't need to in order to do gens and from the way this is phrased it is only when you perform the healing interaction so unless you use a medkit or selfcare you don't loss DS but why when you can just have someone else heal you it doesn't make sense. this also discourages you from helping other survivors because why would you heal them if it might take away your DS and you need it.
-
I was actually fine with any interaction other than gens being done with DS but i understand why it disables for saboing and cleansing
however i feel like it shouldn't be for healing or unhooking as you sometimes are forced to do the save yourself. example another survivor saves you goes down like 10 seconds later and is hooked and you have to do the next save at that point there is nothing stopping the killer from winning/tunneling.
healing is another thing since you do it at the hook more often than not and if i understand correctly that doesn't mean when you are healed but when you heal someone else. Why punish yourself? you can just not heal and i feel like other players will also have that mindset and not heal their teammates when they want to hold onto DS. there really isn't that good of a reason for it to deactivate when you heal another survivor. edit: also it means when you use a medkit/selfcare yeah why punish the survivor for trying to recover i get it's for anti tunnel but this is interaction seems a bit much.
-
Aftercare as a solo this is often my bread and butter yeah it's just info but i like running healing builds and also having prove thyself so good heals and efficient gens.
Aftercare, prove thyself, we'll make it, and either an exhaustion perk, DS, or whatever i feel like really.
-
i mean just count hooks it will be even easier to track with survivor portraits.

Changing the hatch requirement to only spawn when either all gens or done or one survivor is left is still the best and easiest solution i have ever seen.
The only annoying part of keys is that matches end prematurelly. Adding an opening animation won't stop that
Keys would be fine if they took time to open and alerted the killer in some way.
my main issue with keys is simply it being instant it's bs that a survivor can wait at the hatch for others or just in general open it in your face.
i don't think they would need to change hatch spawning conditions if they simply did those two things.
-
why you sometimes can't avoid the hit if your hooked rush and BT is there so you can take the hit.
not a good idea tbh

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/223949/ds-changes-coming-with-next-chapter
Yep, because it wasn't exploitable at all. Go eat a dick while you read up on these changes.
you wanted the perk to deactivate when going into lockers that was what this whole thing was about and they said themselves that the interaction was fine. i suggested the only change it needed was to deactivate on gens as that was the main problem the devs just added more deactivations that's all so it still falls in line with my argument.
Also jesus did you hold a grudge this entire time this discussion was ages ago.
-
i think it's fine as it is and it was always meant to be used to either heal with self care to avoid nurses calling or be used with OoO, when everyone was dead and the killer had bbq it also sometimes helped.
however since the new OoO constantly reveals your aura with no range restrictions it with sole survivor should be a lot more useful.
-
i will definitely play him more, i never let being bad at him stop me from playing him the thing i got annoyed at was simply not seeing anything in corn as well as survivors around objects i want to hit.
this is a buff to him but one that is just needed since he is really annoying to play with a low POV.
-
yeah since you can't abuse it for free gen progress or saves, i would say while it is still meta you're not toxic for using this anymore.
like it will still be strong but not for the same reasons as it was before this combo now mainly hinders tunneling and as UB is meant to do slugging as well.

@Orionbash said:
Its because the devs are notoriously killer-sided and whined and whined until the devs gave survivors another nerf. While this doesn't affect me too much as I don't often run DS unless its been tunnel city all day, I worry for weaker players that use it regularly to avoid being taken out of the game quickly.
There's also loads of problems with the new DS and the definitions aren't defined. What does "healing" mean? If a killer hooks another survivor shortly after you get unhooked and you start to heal, but the killer comes back to tunnel, is your DS now deactivated even though you didn't finish the heal? If the killer pops your gen near your hook and you tap it so it doesn't regress even further while deciding whether or not to wait for DS to run out, is that going to cause DS to deactivate? If a teammate heals you for a second (Even though you don't want them to) does that deactivate DS?
It seems like this nerf to DS isn't going to be noticeable against camping killers who choose to tunnel, but will be abused by killers who proxy or just run back to the hook to tunnel. Hell, we could even look at a new type of tunneling called, "bait tunneling" where the killer makes the survivor think he's not going to come for them so they tap a gen or start to heal or something and then immediately the killer runs back to tunnel the survivor whose DS is now expired.
It just wasn't thought about from all angles and was just another way to appease the ever increasingly whiney killer main crowd who refuse to get decent at the game and instead just want nerfs.
I think it means if you heal another survivor not if your healed yourself, then again i feel that this part is pretty unnecessary since yes your not getting chased yet so your heal another survivor but the killer can go to you as you heal and also this often happens right off the hook.
I feel that it really just shouldn't be for healing.
-
bruh if anything it will make this game better especially the OoO nerf since it was only useful in a swf and was extremely problematic.
As for DS in high level game play it will make gen speed slowed a bit since survivors would always do gens off a hook before healing, at least now they have to heal before doing the gen since we can go after them.
If you know the killer is following you and tunneling just move away from your team and don't do anything to disable it this allows you to do exactly what DS currently does besides interactions which means 60 seconds of "you can't pick me up or chase me imma go into a locker".
this also indirectly buffs stealth killers who can sneak up on someone and get them when they disable DS.
-
that as a survivor hearing the TR doesn't mean the killer is going to you every time.\, I picked up that quickly but not all players do.
I also saw a lot of other players start hiding as i was being chased during that time since i ran bond, new players just don't do gens once they hear the heartbeat.
-
No.
your tunneling the perk is literally just for anti tunneling now no questions and the devs themselves said they wanted to keep this interaction since the perk is as said just to punish the killer for tunneling.
-
it activates every 40 seconds for 3 seconds.
pretty sure when your aura is revealed you see the killers aura for the same duration i don't think that affects its cooldown.
i mean i would rather have this than that OP sweat squad clutch, this also is awful against stealth killers which is great!
-
pretty sure the devs literally said they don't want the survivor to be punished for looking at the killer.
-
Lets also not forget that if your just not running any aura reading this perk is simply only good for you since you see the survivor and that short window isn't enough for them to tell if you saw them.
also again stealth killers just not caring at all.
-
i don't see the new OoO being a problem if they want to run a perk that is just giving them away all game it honestly doesn't matter if they know i see them from my own perks or addons it's not like they will see me all game.
The new OoO isn't going to be used often in swf's the info it provides is too short and even with other info perks they have short durations as well. Besides the only good aura reading perk is bbq which is easily noticed if it is used and stealth killer arua's can't be revealed since they are undetectable which completely negates OoO now.
if there is any problem with it i would say that it would be that it works in a chase, if the timer paused on the perk during a chase it would solve any issues with it.

It's not a strawman, it's literally the truth buddy. I know it hurts to realize that 100 people agreeing with you isn't the majority of the DbD playerbase, but unfortunately that is the truth. Even if you were to add all the negative comments about the UI you will realize that, in comparison with the actual size of the DbD playerbase, the people who complained is very small. That is why they need ACTUAL stats, from the whole playerbase, rather than the vocal minority.
Btw, just because you say I lost the argument doesn't make you right, when your own proof is extremely shoddy and biased.
better than literally no proof
you only have your words i have stats that are consistent across other discussions not just on the forums that point to people in general not liking the look of the new UI.

10 posts is hardly overwhelming when the playerbase count is in the millions, but okay. Continue living in your own bubble buddy. Not gonna change the outcome.
glad to see you lost the argument by pulling a strawman, stats are a thing for a reason and it's not like all the players on the forums came here just because we hate the UI.

200 players is NOT a huge percentage and yes, if 10% of people complain negatively then YES you are in the M I N O R I T Y. See, teh thing about changes is that the people whose are the most vocal are those who don't like it. People who don't care or like it won't make a comment about it. So to say "but look at all the negative comments", I'd say that yeah, that is expected with any change. People don't make posts if they are okay with a change, why would they? They are okay or don't care either way, so it doesn't affect them if it gets implemented.
But to say that the reaction was "overwhelmingly negative" is disingenuous, because you live in a bubble. You surrounded yourself with people who think like oyu and looked at posts that had the same negative feelings like you, and many of these feelings were just fueled by influencers so little kids just copy their opinions. The reality is there wasn't an "overwhelmingly negative response", you just surrounded yourself with people who think like that and just looked at forum posts that confirm your views.
A better way to test is to release it, let people adjust to it for some time and then release a survey to gather data from everybody, not just 100 Steam players. THAT is how you make changes to something, not listen to the 1%, or even 10%. Because if the majority are okay with this UI, then I'm sorry to say, the UI will stay as is.
i will literally make a post every week to see if players are adjusting to it anyway if you can't get proof then wait for the results on those.

cool troll detected, you can't deny that on all forms of communication regarding the UI it was overwhelmingly negative. denying that and proposing that we are just a singularity that has a very different opinion from the total population of players is both ridiculous and extraordinarily unlikely when we are all equal to them and all have very different opinions regarding other things.
as said you don't need to play the ptb to have a opinion on the UI it's basically a picture, go find a post or anything that has a lot of people liking the new UI with prove not just a twitter post with hearts and then you would have at least thin ice to stand on in this argument. I will pretty much always have a bigger sample size example tho that supports it being largely disliked.
if you can't do that don't bother responding because your living in a fantasy.
-
We gave a ton of feedback, unless they are going to release a refined/polished version within the next 2 major updates they completely ignored us.
honestly it shouldn't require that much time it should be done in the next chapter, UI's are basically just pictures with a set size, placement, and it can change based on a in game value. since all they need to do is change its size and placement this shouldn't take long at all, the only thing that could take a long time is redoing the survivor portraits since that also had a lot of negative feedback.

There are millions of DbD players. MILLIONS! And you here are like "listen to 200 people because we said so?"... are you for real?
do you think that with such a huge percentage of players not liking it within that amount means there is a good chance that the whole community will like it with a higher percentage of people?
that is like saying 1/10 for anything regarding stats doesn't matter and just by looking at anything regarding UI changes during the ptb on anything the responses where mostly negative. it is basically a fact that more people didn't like it.
yes there are cases where a small number of people from an area have a different opinions but we are all playing the same game, we are definitely not in the same location/being influenced by the environment, and all people who gave feedback saw the same thing that is basically the same as gathering a hundred random people around the world and seeing how they react to the same thing and guess what? it's overwhelmingly negative on all sources covering the UI from social media, to the forums, to even streamers.
-
@Onyx said:
What polls? The ones on reddit where 50 people voted? Give me a break... the amount of feedback offered from the PTB was minimal in comparison to the actual number of DbD players. Console users didn't even get to play with the new UI.
the polls on the forums one had 100-200 votes and i think the fact that on all polls i saw anywhere the result was more people not liking the new UI by a huge margin is enough to say that the community wouldn't/doesn't like it.
also its a UI not a gameplay feature all you have to do is look at it and you have a valid opinion on what you think of it no need to go onto the ptb for that.
-
@bm33 said:
I think it's really unfortunate they are just pushing it out given how poorly it was received from both survivors and killers, pc and console (you don't need to play it to see it's bad, watching a stream is enough) - it's one thing that both sides can actually agree on. There were also multiple posts with comments from players in ptb complaining about the new UI giving them headaches and motion sickness. There's no good reason to just push this out instead of holding off and making changes based on the feedback they've already received. Pushing it out without changes is just them hoping that it'll force players to suck it up and get used to it.
you know what im going to make a weekly post about how people are adjusting to this UI and see the responses.
without a doubt if you disregard the new features this UI is way worse than the old one but let's see if it really is just "resistance to change"

poor mod just doing his job trying to reassure the players not his fault the devs did this.
-
I think it is a good nerf other than two of the things that disable it.
- healing
- unhooking
a lot of the time you are forced to unhook a survivor as you are off the hook this just makes it so when the killer has the momentum to win they will. As with healing im not a fan since stealth and insta down killers will let the heal happen so they can tunnel unless i misunderstand and it only deactivates when you heal another survivor.
As for gens yeah i think they should be able to just tap it but that's it screw the ability to safely do gens im happy it gets deactivated.
I get the other deactivations but im not that supportive of these two however if i had to choose to keep this one of the current one i would choose this.

Welcome to what Nurse mains felt a year ago.
that was about balance and honestly if nurse wasn't a buggy mess i think it was fine. The thing i hated the most about her rework was her UR addons which are god awful, seriously they couldn't have just given her an extra blink it had to be turned into a useless addon that prevents blinking through walls.
this is a cosmetic appeal with nothing involving balance, there is actually no reason other than laziness or refining it to be improved later for it to remain unchanged after all that feedback. If it is not improved in the next chapter update than laziness is the reason since UI's are not that resource intensive the only thing that would require a lot of time is if they are changing the way survivor portraits look since a lot of feedback said they look bad.

Yeah, I agree.
especially because a good bunch of Threads was written with A LOT of Feedback regarding the UI in a constructive and respectful way. And honestly, bruteforcing the new UI into the game just drives away people who gave this constructive feedback.
Something like "New UI sucks!!111" will always be written, those people would not go way. But those who took their time to write explanations and even improvements will not do that anymore if their opinion is thrown into the garbage bin.
yeah i created a really detailed post with pictures that was respectful and it got merged into the main feedback regarding the new UI as the head post. tons of feedback was on it but nearly all responses wanted changes to the UI and they did the worst thing they could have done which was to literally make no changes.
Like i said my only hope is they are saving all the changes and polishing them until the the next big update.

Oh i know they don't listen well but i thought that was limited to simple balance decisions, to think they would be so dense that they can't even listen to feedback about something that doesn't affect that aspect at all.
There was no reason to not change the UI in response to how we felt about it and pretty much everyone agreed with it needing to be compact at least yet they didn't listen at all.
like come on it's a UI it is basically pictures on the screen with a set size and position that change when conditions are meet it would be the easiest thing out of all the things they added to change.
-
I mean... ya?
I fully support the nerf but i never thought they would nerf it this hard, i hope it's if you complete the interactions (besides gens) otherwise it would be a little bs if you went to heal or cleanse a totem and the killer sees you.
I definitely see this buffing tunneling and i don't think it should be on unhooks since you sometimes are forced to do that but i mean i will take this over leaving it as it is just because it prevents survivors from rushing gens as hard.

his quickscope is literally the only thing he has that makes him able to stand up to Huntress.
if we make his AdS similar to Huntress Hatchets where he has to wind it up first, he is going to drop tremendously in terms of power.
balance wise he is fine where he is imo.
he is very strong in chases, however he is lacking in everything else, so that makes up for that.
if you wanna beat a Slinger, stealth is your best friend.
stealth or just staying healthy and doing gens
if survivors spread out and just do gens not even rushing them he will loss.
he can get back to back chases but as long as you don't 3 gen yourself he can't deal with the pressure and his lack of mobility and snowball potential causes him to fall.

Well she needs to give some kind of information to the survivor when she phases, otherwise there isn't any real counter play without iron will.
It's guess work yeah but making her super unviable isn't the way, with the OP's idea i actually wouldn't mind if her getting stunned completely drained her power but besides a tell for when she is phasing i don't think she should have any info on where she is while phasing as it is just too easy to play safe. especially when she exits phasing since she is a 4.4 m/s killer without a power for a couple of seconds survivors would always be on the other side of the pallet and could even just run to the next one and then do the same thing.

i miss the stupidity tho and not all of us are slow, i can type pretty fast on a controller not faster than keyboard obviously but enough to get a message through in 10-20 seconds if it's just a sentence.

There's just no information given to the survivor when she phases that it's all guesswork. You're pretty much screwed if you don't have IW anyway.
did you play when you could hear her? there was a bug that made her easy to track with sound and it was also like that in her ptb, it makes her really weak.
like all you have to do is camp the pallet and throw it once you hear her in one direction and just vault it when you hear her going to a side. When the bug was live i faced 3 spirits each of them gave up on chasing me at good loops she was basically easier to play safe against than clown.

Oh, ok... let me die on the hook as killer then... or just run across the map to find out that the killer is farming.
And before you say, then just do gens and leave. I just dont want to hold m1 for several minutes, while avoiding being forced to farm.
And if you are scared of swf abusing this let me present a few solutions:
- People will be penalised for dcing no matter what if the first dc occured after 5 minutes from the start of the match.
- If a person in premade dc'ed, all of the survivors in this premade will be panalised
- If point 2 doesent fit you then game can keep track of swf wide dcs, and if it detects a select number of dcs party wide, it will punish everyone in said party heavily
- If one person from the swf dcs, the rest of the squad does not receive the panalty free dc ticket.
sure that's better with those changes, won't change much but at least it a little more fair.
-
run spine chill with it other than that don't run any other healing speed perks
you want tokens and that means you want a longer time to get those tokens so running even more perks to shorten that time isn't that good of an idea. for a consistent healing build yes but not with autodidact.
once you get max tokens your heals when you get skill checks are just as fast more of the time faster than a standard healing build.
only perk i can also recommend using with it as others have said is solidarity.
-
its a great perk it doesn't need any changes. run a healing build with it and you can easily keep your entire team healed and coordinate easier.
like the perk is basically always active as soon as you heal or save someone since it also activates if someone heals or saves you meaning even if it resets when your hooked it works again right away once your saved.
-
call me paranoid but doesn't this allow swf's to just say screw this and take turns dc'ing to keep the penalty short?
like sure i get why this is more fair but you can also always die on the hook to avoid the penalty anyway.

I still dont think that DS needs any changes. I am doing just fine, I got hit by one DS today, this must have been something like 55 seconds+ and I hooked another person in between, but this happens once in a while. And I highly doubt that I am the exception.
But IF DS gets any changes, it should be a big middlefinger for tunneling Killers. This is not the case if DS just has its timer paused while in chase, because the Killer can still slug and pick up the Survivor later (which means he still tunneled), or he can look down.
So the Timer would need to be infinite or stopped while running and slugged and deactivated when doing one of the Objectives (Totems, Healing, Gens).
But like I said, I dont have any problem with DS and I play enough Killer to say that without any doubts.
i'm the same way i think it's interaction with the killer is completely fine.
lockers? you went after them it's an anti tunnel tactic.
DS saves? basically gives you a better chance of getting the DS user and they are without the perk. i would say getting a easy down for an unhook that would have happened anyway is a good trade.
following you? they are legit not doing anything let them it's better than them doing gens by miles.
however i don't think you should be able to do gens off the hook with DS active, nearly all high rank players do this and it is a reason gens get done so fast. if it deactivated when you worked on a gen i think it would be a much more balanced perk since they can only use it to recover or do other things besides the object unless they are willing to be at risk of getting hooked again.
-
So i first learned about f13 and played that for a bit and before long i started going onto the f13 forums. As i was looking through them i saw people talking about dbd saying it was better and arguing it was worse and at first i was like "no way that game is definitely worse". this was before it started dying btw.
however before long i got a recommended video by hybrid panda (i miss his content) about dead by daylight and thought i might as well see what it was like.
in the span of 20 minutes my thoughts turned from "dbd sucks" to "wow that looks way more fun than f13 i can even be the killer every time" and since i played f13 not for the horror but to be a murdering maniac i quickly switched to dbd. even with how unbalanced it was back then it was still way more fun to me since it fit what i was looking for in a game where you play as a monster/killer.
-
I also have a big list of changes i would like but i only add to that list after i suggest a single idea and try to improve it the best i can and even then i barely have that many survivor perks and only 18 killer perks (i focus mainly on perks).
I don't have that many despite being very supportive of idea's since i don't add half thought out ideas to it. If your also like me and want to keep track i suggest making a list and adding only the ideas you feel are good and thought out.
-
Ok i was going to list out each idea and explain but that is too much so i'll say what applies to a lot of these ideas.
you are suggesting changes that are unnecessary and from what it seems it's because "why not", your also making a lot of these perks way too strong.
the base changes to survivors are all just more buffs to them which we don't need and built in bt is not good for game health we don't need more hook rushers.
mate i'll be honest you can't really see how this will affect game play but from what i see it favors survivors A TON. some ideas are cool but suggest them alone not a list because for one if there are good changes there are too many to look through so getting meaningful feedback will be uncommon because "oh this looks cool i like it" doesn't tell you much since you already think it's good what you need to look for is criticism to improve upon your ideas.
I will however look at each perk idea but separately meaning just because perk idea A exists doesn't mean perk B is fine. I won't comment on just cooldown changes unless they are outrageous so something like your brutal strength idea or dragons grip would be fine.
- blood echo shouldn't punish healthy survivors so heavily with no interaction with the killer and it applies sloppy butcher to everyone too much in the first place it shouldn't interact with healthy survivors unless it is minor because the killer didn't interact with them in any way.
- dying light i don't see being affected by this that much at all and since undying changed the only thing that would matter with cleansing speed is if you use TOTH
- forced penance 90s is too long but increasing it slightly would be fine
- gearhead idea is too vague and too strong if it is just reducing hits info can't be OP but it can be unreasonably good that is what this is
- hex blood favor has a useless effect as it is it just needs straight buffs so it actually can be useful
- all aura reading perks that show how progressed something is seems ok but im not really for it or against it
Im just gunna stop at killer perks since i am most invested in them you simply have too many things that i can't say what is good without spending too much time on this.
A lot of these ideas are just not thought out and it's because you were trying to rush through them, like i said only focusing on a small number of changes will increase the quality of your idea. Also no need to mention perks you don't think need changes if it's not listed we kinda know your not suggesting changes to it this made your list harder to read.

Yall are obviously survivor mains if you dont know that survivor is hella unbalanced already and has been since the beginning of the game if survivors can pop 5 gens in 2 mins I think a killer should deserve to have the ability to automatically 2 hook someone I understand the mori thing thats actually a reasonable argument but its as I said you can only use the perk once so it wont be too big of deal i play both sides killer and survivor pretty well and have a good understanding of the game so I personally think its a good perk idea and plus its not for Yall to view anyways its an idea for the devs and oh yah how could I forget about how broken keys are they nerf moris but not keys... Literally can bring one in and pop 4 to 5 gens in 2 mins and 3 to 4 survivors escape inevitably even if you have really good pressure in the match and can also guaranteed get one in a chest now with the new chest perk and the new ace in the hole thats coming soon. All im saying guys is out of the 3 to 4 years ive been playing the game from both sides the analysis I got out of it was that its alot more stressful and hard to play killer then it is survivor especially when you go against red rank 4 man swf groups which is broken in my opinion but everyone is entitled to they're own but anyways the point im trynna make is the perk will give killers a little more edge in matches but if they want to completely fix the unbalance in the game they must start by looking into survivor beginning with gen speeds...
ok? that is common knowledge but that doesn't mean such a perk like this should exist.
unbalanced bs should be changed you don't add more unbalanced bs to the other side just because one side has it.
disagreeing because the perk unreasonably punishes one survivor and buff's your ability to tunnel a survivor doesn't mean we are unaware of what this game is like. We just don't want more bs added to this game that's all and you also have to understand that not all or even that many games are filled with sweats that do all gens in 5 minutes.
as for gen speed the only time it is an issue is at the start since 1-3 gens can get done without you being able to stop it. adding a new feature that slows gens in a way at the start of the game is all that's needed to really balance gen speed.

i feel like some are way rarer than others
like for myes how many tombstones do you have to the one that gives infinite EW3?
because i swear i get like 4x or more the amount of tombstones then the other.
