Once all gens are done there's absolutely no reason why a killer shouldn't defend their only objective left. They have no gens to patrol and defend, and survivors have nothing left to do but either leave or come for the rescue, so punishing killers from defending their hook would simply be unfair. As much as it's frustrating to die on your first hook, it would also be extremely frustrating to be punished for doing the one thing left for you to do as killer. Also, rescues against a facecamper, even a Bubba, aren't impossible, even more so if you have plenty of hook trades to spare.
Also maybe this means we'll see more endgame builds, which I'm personnally quite excited about tbh.
1. Rescues against a bubba are impossible w/o specific tools, it's not even a conversation 2. Aaagain, just because killers only have one objective left doesn't mean they should literally guarantee they can secure their objective, if you consider adding counterplay "punishing the killer" then idk what to tell u maybe the killer deserves to be """punished"""

True.
What else can a killer do in EGC than guarding their hook? All gens are done and the rest of survivors would like to get the 4man out with some tbags at the gate. It would be very unfair to punish killers for their only objective at that sate. Regardless of how good they are with it.
Interesting that neither Nurse or Blight are on your list....
Because if they want you, they will get you.
Offering counterplay is not "punishing." Just because the killer only has one objective left doesn't at all mean they should be able to secure it with zero effort and zero counterplay.
-
@Technature said:
Yes. I, too, would like the killer to have the threat level of a toothless and particularly small poodle.
Camping should be a legitimate strategy when the EGC is happening, period. Some killers are simply better for it than others, and part of being a good survivor is knowing when to cut your losses. Also.
"I didn't say anything about making it impossible to camp in endgame did I?"
"I can understand the anti-camp system being disabled in endgame being more fair for the average killer, but that's not a luxury these other killers should get."
PICK ONE!
Those don't even contradict each other? Ig I should clarify I moreso meant those killers don't deserve to have endgame camping be any easier for them + There's a difference between some killers being "simply better" at it and some killers literally offering zero counterplay to it, if it really was that they were only better at it I wouldn't mind but it's much worse than that

Free health state.
it is a big deal.
But hey, imagine saying that gen regression are a big deal for 2 year straight until they nerfed every single one of them into oblivion, survivor wins the complaning contest hands down every day of the week lol

you want proof? its been 2 years of straight up killer nerf. DH was "nerfed" in a way that still makes it viable in mid late game and all the surv main are complaining like their loved one got kidnapped or something.
putting nerfed in quotations is crazy, also lol dh staying viable is the end of the world

So Survivors getting free self-unhooks is healthy for the game.
But Survivors getting exposed with bloodlust to shorten chases is somehow evil and should never happen.
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
That's up there with 'The visible heart is a good QoL change, but a bigger Killer FoV is not fair'.
Just more Survivor hypocrisy; Anything that benefits Survivors is great for the game. Anything that benefits Killers should never happen. 🤣

Their cloaking is a joke. Plus it makes a bunch of windy noise. smh.
Not easy enough to track so accurately w a flashlight to get a lightburn off like it was nobodys business, idk what to tell u man countering lightburn as wraith legit just wasn't hard

Claims that dh needed a full rework are such bs. The waiting out aspect of it is completely fine, if u cant handle waiting a few seconds its literally a skill issue

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3433063#Comment_3433063
There can be gens being protected, other Survivors running around, pallets to break etc. Being by the hook does not necessarily mean you are camping.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3433138#Comment_3433138
It will have same issue as Boil Over, either too strong or useless. They aren’t going to bother if it is the latter.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3433135#Comment_3433135
Excellent points. I highly doubt BHVR has even considered these.
But if you're just near the hook for a second to break the pallet or a survivor is nearby it means much less or nothing?
-
Oh no you'll have to be 17m away instead of 16m away oh nooo get over it 16m is a pretty fair range and if changed should only get bigger
-
@bm33 said:
I'm not concerned about end game camping, at most I'd just remove healthy hook grabs and make it only be injured hook grabs but that's it. During end game it makes sense killer would camp to secure a kill. It definitely sucks for person on hook to die at end but atleast they played a full match with BP instead of camped at start with no BP.
I do think Bubba does need to be looked at because he isn't impacted at all by the anti-camping and is basically an unstoppable force when it comes to camping. His chainsaw sweep allows him to easily eat through BT and still down the survivor if they unhook themself - he does this already when someone else unhooks the other player, rarely does the unhooked also get away.
Ofc it makes sense to camp, imo it just shouldn't guarantee a kill, it should be basically as effective as endgame camping w a basic m1 killer
-
@Seraphor said:
Once the gens have been repaired, the killer has no other objective than the survivor on the hook, no matter which killer that is.
What are these killers supposed to do if they can't camp in endgame? Stand in a corner?
I didn't say anything about making it impossible to camp in endgame did I? Just making it less effective for the killers that have it too easy

I know, but nevertheless that's how i see it. For me it doesn't matter because a defeat is a defeat.😄
Fair enough, to each their own
-
@Veroles said:
Personally, this is how I see it: The survivor side can have a candy if the whole team died and one gets the hatch. A Killer can get a Candy if they defend a sure kill while three survivors escape. Both scenarios are a clear defeat on paper. The difference is that the killer still has the opportunity to get more kills, but on the other hand he can also lose the save kill if he greeds for more. I think it's okay that both sites have consolation prize.
Hatch is random, endgame camping (with the aforementioned killers) is basically ensured

Completing all the gens isn't a win. It's not a win til they're out. If they can't make it out, that's the killer beating them.
When did I say it was a win? + Just because a bubba *can* guarantee a kill from one down doesn't mean it's deserved
-
@Mushmallow said:
Don't get caught. The killer caught you. If you can't escape from that, they deserve the kill.
Don't lose all the gens. The survivors completed all the gens. If you can't kill any of them before that, they deserve the 4 out.
Not exactly a true statement but way more true than yours
-
@ProfessorDunwich said:
To be clear it is not so much anti-camp as it is not being around the hook at all. The bar for the Survivor unhook only stops filling if the Killer is beyond 16 meters, with an increasing fill rate as the Killer gets closer. Other Survivors in the radius slow the bar if the Killer is in it but it does not stop.
I can totally see Survivors, especially coordinated ones, taking the chase to the hooked Survivor. The exact opposite of what you do now. The Survivor in chase can get the hooked Survivor off the hook by simply keeping the Killer around. This leaves 2 Survivors working on gens, prior to this, one would have to go for the unhook.
"To be clear it is not so much anti-camp as it is not being around the hook at all." So..anti-camp?

Survivors get to create Pallets in the upcoming event.
Cool core gameplay change.
Killer gameplay stays the same.
Depending on how rapidly Survivors are able to setup new Pallets, it’d be nice if Killer Basic Attacks were amped up to be able to cut down the swaths of forests the Survivors will be growing.
Killers will be able to expose survivors after reaching bloodlust, reduce their stun time, and remotely break pallets and probably walls and maybe gens
-
@cluckodoom said:
Everything in this game that has a radius is cylinder based. When a killer hooks a survivor in the basement of the killer shack or main building and a survivor charges in for the unhook, the killer's only choices are leave and let the survivor unhook freely or chase the survivor around the loop while the survivor in the basement gets a free unhook.
Also, how will Amanda's map be playable? It's small because it's two stories and walled in, but cylinders go through walls and floors?
I don't think it'll be cylinder based, I'm p sure it's only skull merchant's drones which are cylinders and things like boons and definitely reassurance are spheres, it's just hard to tell with boons because 24 meters is kinda a lot
-
@sanees said:
What if we don't punish killers for playing?
What if, instead of constant nerfs and reductions in tactics, we start rewarding killers?
for example, do not punish the camp (which will absolutely be used by the survivors to attack)
go from the opposite
for example, if the killer is not within a radius 16 meters of hook, then the survivor dies faster
and suddenly the killer gets more pressure from the hook and at the same time gets an incentive not to camp
Try to give a gingerbread instead of a whip
First of all, punishing face camping isn't punishing killers for playing bc face camping is hardly "playing." Second, they literally said if a survivor is nearby then it will make the bar fill up slower. If you want an incentive not to camp, why is camping being punished such a problem for you? Almost like you actually want to keep camping...

It is very much fine. You make it impossible or significantly harder to tunnel and every m1 killer suffers to the point where if they do get buffed its just as annoying to face them as compared to them tunneling. Or you know just them not having enough pressure. At the current state of the game tunneling is fine as is because maps are so huge or are just loaded with pallets that you can just comp drop and win even though you dont preserve resources.
Obv tunneling is fine in the current state of the game but the current state of the game itself isn't fine

Survivors won't be happy until the Killer is forced to 12 hook every match, no matter what.
And when Killers point out the gen speeds literally don't allow a 12 hook game, the answer will be 'Skill issue'.
The answer will actually be "add another objective".

Lately people never bring anti-tunnel perks or exhaustion perks anymore and it’s getting annoying cuz they are the mostly getting tunneled out of the game immediately. I always have DS and Dead Hard in my build, and let me tell you that DS is still really good. Nobody expects DS anymore and that 3 sec is not that bad actually. I’m sorry if you are getting tunneled, but if you don’t bring anti-tunnel perks in your games, you deserve to get tunneled out cuz you should know by now that most Killers these days camp and tunnel, and it’s to buy your team some time to do the gens while the Killer is trying to tunnel you out of the game.
As someone who plays survivor this is a trick question for me :P dh not as much tho feels clunky only having 2 uses per game but it's still so good w ds

Honestly I think deliverance encourages tunneling much more than it encourages slugging, slugging only really comes into play w it when going down from prot hits while deliverance is active, which is more a tunneling issue imo bc the only reason ur getting slugged is bc the killer is hard focusing the person u took prot hits for

Well this is certainly the most creative solution I've heard to weskers tunnel potential

as a sadako main, i think she needs several buffs to make her viable.
first off, she shouldn't have a lullaby. with visual TR she's almost useless stealth-wise.
second off, she shouldn't be able to be pallet stunned while demanifested. she's DEMANIFESTED.
iri videotape should be basekit, and her teleports should be faster.
however, ring drawing should be nerfed, as ring drawing + thana + sloppy with the healing nerfs leads to annoying ####ing gameplay.

any way that she's played leads to annoying ####ing gameplay lol

well specific changes to certain perks is one thing but I would just like to see a quality of life to where I can consistently get a little use out of a hex and not solely relying on totem rng
I'm fine with hexes getting cleansed quickly bc on the other end of the spectrum u can mori everyone w devour. If other hexes were that powerful it'd be ok imo. I think if they gave something to help prevent hexes from getting cleansed early on they should also give something to help cleanse them later on, which I don't like bc it's basically making hexes more comp-y and less part-y

Garden of Joy is less of a skill issue and more of a classic "devs forgot to consider how buildings chain to the tiles"
The stronger killers in the game can somewhat circumvent the issues Garden of Joy has, but lots of killers just don't have a real response other than avoid the building and try to catch you out somewhere else.
And that is exactly what you can do, I agree goj is bs but that was one hell of an exaggeration from them

in the garden of joy, you can run from the killer for several minutes without using pallets, strangely, the survivors do not resent this and do not say "You need to turn off the map"
What in the skill issue
