Tunneling is a good strategy, but it's not always the best play. Sometimes you give up all pressure and give survivors too much freedom by doing so.
Doesn't really matter when braindead perks like Dead Man's and Deadlock paired with Ultimate Weapon exist. I hate to use such a strong word, but these 2 perks simply must go.
Remember when we had to play against Face Camp Bubbas with no base kit BT? we had to give up on that survivor and slam all the gens and hope that was enough to power the gates, and then sacrifice one more survivor so the other 2 can leave. Easiest 2 man out ever.
That's just impossible now, especially in solo. Gen block meta by design is so incredibly lame.
-
Being a Jeryl(RIP) main brought out the worst possible attention from both Suevivor and Killer lmao. The amount of toxicity and BM was utterly unreal. It was funny having matches devolve into "Protect the Jeryl"
These days I play a bit of Feng, she's definitely a chew toy for the killer. I like playing survivors that killers hate because it makes stealth a bit more viable because you're psychologically influencing the killer.
Feng is one of those survivors that killers will drag matches out and pick survivors up to reveal auras, from my experience.
-
Kills are irrelevant, imo. You can use 3 perks to basically guarantee kill 1 survivor then use 4th perk Noed to secure 2nd kill. Perfectly balanced. Yet that can be a result from just 2 hooks lol.
I think addressing feel bad situations and ensuring both sides have a comfortably stressful match where everyone feels like they had any semblance of agency is more important.
Killers should on average get 2.5 kills imo. Not per match, but overall.
-
I just want Twins to be a more seamless and fluid Knight. I enjoy using both killers in chase, such as using Charlotte to body block.
-
Using items, offerings, perks or add-ons are all crutches when you think about it.
Whether it's early game with Lethal/Distortion, in chase with I'm All Ears/WoO or end game with No Way Out/Adrenaline, a crutch is a crutch.
But who cares? These things were meant to be used based on your preferences. Perks can enhance your strengths or patch up your weaknesses. Or, you can use them for personal comfort i.e. Lightborn or Agitation.
Ad killer, it's reasonable to expect 2 survivors to reach end game a decent amount of the time. If the game was meant to be over by then, the Entity would just automatically sacrifice the killer. The exit gate switches exist to be a funnel that Survivors must pass.
If a survivor thinks they can pop Adrenaline, or if a killer wants to play most of the game with 3 perks, cool beans I say.
-
This would be thr buff that my stealth Nemmy needs!
It's tough to say, as the audio was made for balance but eh, I'd have fun with it.
Spooky Dredge would become a thing and I'd be so down for that

Xeno is much better.
Most players seem to be getting weak opponents and still think Unknown is a good killer when in reality he is glorified M1. Xeno has a much more reliable means of map traveling and can land tail hits during vault animation. Unknown can force survivor out of few loops but other than that he is solely at mercy of survivors - if they look back and dispel illusions then he has his wonky projectile that needs to hit survivor twice and there's like 4 or 5 seconds window between shots to make or else previous instance of weaken will be removed by and you will be applying a useless weaken debuff.
I honestly do not see Unknown as glorified M1. I'm not saying he's M2 reliant as Huntress, but whether or not you m1 or use Uvx feels dependent on nearby geometry and LOS.
Maybe I've just played too much Legion, but his ability to me makes chases so much easier that he's worth playing around his ability. If I know the Survivor will 100% reach safety, I'll give up the m1 and play around Uvx.
It does take time to hide from the chased survivor and wait for your CD, but I don't feel that I'm being inefficient as long as I don't miss...heh.
So many strong, safe structures/loops/check spots become unsafe against this killer that I feel I'd be limiting myself by being m1 focused.
-
I think the double pallets are hilarious, tbh. The killer has no reason to leave the middle so the middle may as well be decent
-
I doubt you're bad, you're probably just not thinking likean Unknown yet.
Maybe some of us have Huntress Brain and want to hit people directly? Or only want guaranteed hits like Nemmy, Alien or Pyramid Head?
You can use uvx to zone into m1s, although thats mega basic.
Uvx MUST bounce, but it's not super obvious which surfaces uvx will bump OFF of and not just INTO and instantly explode.
I think it's like Blight where you'll just have to get a feel for it on your own. For example, on Midwich you can explode Uvx into ceilings if you bounce it into a bookshelf and damage people above you.
Embrace the Splash, because badasses don't look at explosions.
I personally am not afraid of hiding if I'm confident my UVx shot will get a health state. This killer feels like he was designed to be weird on purpose
-
I think keys have an identity issue as they are really only used for aura reads. It's unintuitive for a key to be so poggers at revealing Survivor or killer
-
I can understand your frustration. It's like how twins can get free camps by hooking near Victor.
Hallucinations should dispel like a knight guard
-
His power is fine. Survivors need to be rewarded for dodging uvx.
The trick is to either never miss, or don't be embarrassed by playing shy and break LOS after missing. I think it's worth it to play around Unknowns cool downs
-
It happens time to time.
-
On the topic of Xeno though, am I just an idiot for thinking that it's tail hitbox is NOT how it was on release?
Like, I get that the missed CD was too much but i specifically remember the amount of tails going straight through survivors went up after Xenos nerf, but nobody on reddit talked about it because people were too busy making fun of Alien players because they actually had to aim now.
I had to put them down for a while and haven't put much time in since, much like the Kbight who became 10x worse after being killswitched

If you’re complaining about getting hit through walls… listen for the audio cue, and don’t hug the wall. Lol
To this day, my friends still camp pallets in front of Huntress and act surprised when she just respects the pallet.
I think people genuinely try to apply a "1 size fits all" approach for all killers and don't want to make adjustments when needed.
You need to be Unknown when playing against the Unknown, otherwise he'll just get free hits from an unknown angle. So maybe don't be obvious by camping a check spot etc.
Fom my experience, when I get smoked by UVX i just genuinely feel outplayed. He feels really fair to me, but unlike Huntress this killers strategy feels Unknown And incomprehensible sometimes :p

That's just because most of the people who play him are newer to the game. It's the same with Wraith. New players get stressed out pretty easily, They are overwhelmed and often get angry and toxic as a result. Experienced Doctor players are surprisngly chilled out most of the time.
New killer players surprisingly have the right idea how to play the game; tunnel, camp, and hit survivors on hook to sacrifice them faster.
It's like some sort of bell curve. Survivor tho is just a pure meat grinder

this only affects comms and rare wicked value. seems like such an unnecessary nerf to the status effect, like what blindness source lasts more than 30 seconds and isn't halfway gone by the time you are on the hook?
You could make the same argument for killer powers, but BHVR decided to exempt those from any aura blocking for arbitrary reasons, albeit ones I agree with.
I'd be down for buffing blindness if we got rid of hook blinds. I guess that'd buff Blind Slugging, which Is specifically a solo stomping build but eh, that'd be a problem I could deal with as it approaches
-
Part of becoming an adult is accepting that you can't control how others feel.
You could build an orphanage for puppies and people will still hate you for it.
By this I mean you could give in and play Trapless Trapper so your opponents don't feel bad, but they'll still find a way. So why bother capitulating in the first place?
-
Dbd just has an entitlement issue. Skull Merchant just normalized it

Aim dressing also will forbid killers from lunging if it thinks someone is "within range". So if a killer is intending to lunge around an object (because lunges don't have object collision), and the game forces a short M1 attack instead, it can cause the killer to hit whatever object they were trying to lunge around.
In fact, I'd argue the forced short M1 attack mechanic is what steals the most hits, because most of the players in this game aren't even aware this exists, so they don't even try at all to avoid it.
I legit had to stopplaying Spirit because it was genuinely upsetting.
You can make the argument that you shouldn't insta lunge out of power, but sometimes you need to be lightning fast in order to steal hits.
-
I use Plaything to force SWFs into Catch 22s.
The reality is that the average person does not have the awareness to play under Oblivious, that is the bigger deal than Solos not being on the same page regarding "cleanse or dont"
-
Is there some issue regarding screams on PC?
-
So there should, in fact, be a way out against No Way Out?
Sorry, I tried not clicking send but I'll be thinking about this comment If I don't.

One of the few maps that's uniquely terrible for everybody.
I had the pleasure of being sent here as Pinhead last night and I counted 4 Gens on the middle of the road.all survivors camped houses refusing to do anything until a "chase" started, but then they'd immediately bee line to a house if I came their way. Not even the Box did anything. Couldn't hold the street, couldn't chase, couldn't do anything.
If I kept playing Unknown I would have been fine, but M1 on this level is so, so brutal. Locker spawns are abysmal, too.
When it comes to discussions regarding Knight or Artist, people are quick to despise them because you can't loop them, you have to hold W and thats boring. Yet Haddonfield is *the* hold w map but that's one of its redeeming qualities for Survivor.
I play this level as Survivor and I just get the "proxy at max range" Huntress
-
That's pretty cool of them to do

Not sure why the mechanics and perks would have an impact on my ideal. Stealth provides boring game play for both parties, except for a few exceptionally weird survivors. After a certain amount of time maining stealth only a very slim amount of people commit to it without suffering extreme boredom. Only so much of a pvp game can be played with MINIMAL interactivity.
I actually think stealthing Blights is the funniest thing ever, personally. Angry old man with cane cannot, in fact, get the dang kids off his lawn!
-
Stealth is technically more powerful than chase as it uses 0 resources. Dropping pallets is a strategy that, by definition, has a shelf life.
Play survivors that Killers hate, or play in a way they don't like and you can get similar value to chases.
Remind me again how you loop a Nurse on Dead Dawg or Nostromo. Oh wait, you can't.

Right, so please read what i said. Yes, they made it "bad" on purpose, because they don't want this perk to come out too strong, because it is an entirely new mechanic and they aren't sure the direction they want to go with it. So better to start off a little weak, and figure out where it falls in line and how the mechanic is working, and then make changes to the perk or the mechanic itself.
So, in a way, yes, i'm saying they made it bad on purpose. But there is a good reason for that.
In the long run its for the better, I guess. There are still crowds who have never forgiven BHVR for changing COH from its live release.
-
Alien is limited by their turrets. Sometimes they aren't ideal and survivors just run, and can be exacerbated by Events and Coins.
Unknown can cook some spicy hits if they aren't afraid of embarrassing themselves. Like, Unknown can hit people on 2nd floors of Midwich without ever throwing a grenade up onto a 2nd floor. Huntress can't even do that.
I love my Alien but this guy is just something else. I can see myself playing with Unknown for a while
-
The squawking noises she makes make me....thirsty? Like, I legitimately feel the need to drink a glass of water.
I know some people hate Plague because of emetophobia, but for me I enjoy the puking sounds. Bird noises though are annoying

"If your teammates suck at using it, then that's unfortunate, but that isn't grounds for deactivation."
I mean, you cannot really use the Perk and not suck at using it, lol. The skill issue here is to try to use the Perk. But whoever tries it, will not make it work.
I spawned in with Invocation+No Mither against a Blight on Lerys last night and there was no circle in the basement
I think the game did me a favour

Survivors are easier to keep weakened on indoor levels with the LoS blockers I assume

She used to have an accessibility addon with Father's Glasses, rest in peace

How others feel about SM, i feel about Hag.
And I don't DC or throw tantrums.if I can play against a Hag, nobody has any excuse.
And nobody hates Hag more than I do.
-
You or your team need to be placing turrets. The teams that die are the ones that think turrets are optional because one time, an Alien ran a turret add on.
If there are no turrets, you just need empathy and think what the killer would do, it helps with dodging the tail

1-2 survivors escaping on average keeps things nice and tense. When I play in SWF i consider getting a single survivor out via the Exit Gate a win.
Even in solo, dying ain't so bad if your team puts in elbow grease.

Well, this is just silly.
Sometimes being a 100% BP main is terrifying because it's like being a 6 year old in the backseat of a car, with Daddy killer drunk behind the wheel and Momma Survivor hitting and yelling at the driver and all you can do is watch as you drive into oncoming traffic

Not to mention because killers want specific elements of survivor gameplay nerfed (healing, stealth) survivors move away from perks or items that do those things… in favor of what? Gen efficiency. I’ve seen several threads where killers called for healing to be nerfed then killers where all pikachu face about why survivors aren’t healing during matches. Like what did you all expect?
My favorite was during the Attack on Titan shakeup; wow, what a utopian killer paradise Dbd is now!
Wait, survivors have no time to goof off and now have increased anxiety over being tunneled and now just do gens? The horror! This new killer supremacy update is too survivor sided!
And it wasn't even a numbers change, it was a mentality change that increased survivor efficiency.
-
I've never once heard a single good argument against bringing back 5 second DS.
it's always just "perks shouldn't be bandaid!" However, there's literally no other option.
Killers received positive reinforcement via Pain Res but killers can't have nice things because somebody used it to tunnel. So if we can't reward killers, that leaves punishing them.
DS needs to be 5 seconds and be a button press like Power Struggle. I'm still waiting to see a convincing argument to the contrary, but I don't think ot exists. Because we're literally not going to get a base game mechanic.

If Im near the Survivor, I normally try to heal them a bit so they can recover faster but they instantly assume Im trying to fully pick them up when Im not trying to (since SoloQ is as SoloQ does).
Obviously doing a Generator is better but seeing someone Plot Twist gives me anxiety since Im worried they will get picked up.
I wouldn't even bother, broseph. Not just because of the anxiety you're giving to the Plot Twist user, but moreover that it's just horribly inefficient.
We are like cats. When we are in pain, we just want to hide.
-
I much preferred Ruin Undying meta over this lame meta. Just because something is meta or popular isn't a good enough reason to nerf something, but this particular one is obnoxious
I much preferred OG Pain Res, too. Perk was just what ham killers needed. It may be more """"""""balanced""""""""" but nobody likes it.
-
Chunky is fun for survivors to juke but feels like he has limited skillexpressuon as Chucky just goes for guaranteed hits.
Either you just scamper, or you just spam your power until you get guaranteed M2 or survivor gets zoned into M1
Unknown is the way more fun killer for his expression, I guess.

Long story short: I have come to the conclusion that other than in peak hours in our regions, MMR doesn't really exist in matchmaking and the game just throws you in with whoever it can find.
I would love to see more M1 killers as they are the most fun to play against but I understand why people don't play them so much in the current meta.
I just accepted matchmaking is an absolute mess and I will just get babies one game and comp teams the next. I gave up caring at this point and just accept the chaos lol
You're right, bud. BHVR has tested MMR before at varying degrees, but I remember one test they made it fairly tight and I wanted to kiss my solo q teams, on average.
I guess twin mains got stuck waiting 3 hours for a lobby so we can't have nice things. Which is a shame, because I was excited to have survivors of similar skill on my team.
It's basically confirmed now that matchmaking prioritizes speed so MMR feels pointless???
I guess a middle ground has to be drawn, because I remember if you wanted to play survivor at night you used to have to wait literally 10 minutes but now it's like 1 minute
-
Just out of curiosity, do you play Dbd sober? If so, perhaps changing that would be a step in the right direction.
Survivors can't outplay you if you outplay yourself, and If they decide to be poor sports by saying gg ez you can just say " I hope so because I'm half comatose"
Idk, I feel it's easier to take this game in stride that way. Not suggesting you actually do, I just personally cannot play Dbd unless I'm literally trashed

44 knives but you get Main Event every 5 seconds, meaning you dont have to reload nearly as much even when he did have 60
Nobody likes Main Event, though.
Like, it was cool when it was a pointless thing that sometimes maybe did something but now it's way too common and you're expected to actually rely on it now
Which may be cool, bit that throw rate makes it feel terrible. New Trickster feels like he just builds up guaranteed Lacerations or just M1s that's so lame. So much for the machine gunning Kpop psychopath
-
Greetings brother, can I offer you a Plague Main membership in these trying times?
