More than a tier? You want an s tier stealth killer? Why even? Going against stealth killers tends to be quite miserable if they play it correctly, why would you want them to be that far up? XD

Wraith got bumped up to A tier and was immediately struck down.

  • As long as matchmaking has an emphasis on speed, I think MMR is quite literally irrelevant.

In game 1 you bring meme build against sweat squad,so you sweat too but now you're against potato squad. It's pointless.

The only thing that matters is "intent" or mindset. Dbd is fun whether you sweat or play casually, but just like dealing with a Plague, you all need to be on the same page. That's where I think the problem is.

  • I live by the Golden rule, so I'm obligated to try. I try for anybody who tries, whether they bleed blood or oil.

I don't discriminate, I just judge based on performance. I think it's funny to make sure the bot gets out for a 4 man out, and I also think it's funny to sacrifice a player for a bot if that bot played better.

  • Seeing Ash exist with his goofy hand(love Ash, no disrespect intended) makes me want a Shinichi Izumi skin from Parasyte.

  • Any time I've brought friends to dbd, especially people who aren't really familiar with this genre, don't care about being tossed into a hopeless meat grinder.

How do you think shooters like CoD were so popular despite the average person rocking a .25 K/D? Because they have fun with their mates.

The average person really doesn't care as long as they can be a team player and get a mate out. Heck, I sometimes preferred playing with my "play dbd once every 6 months" friends because they're not bitter and crusty about every little thing.

Background player +flashbang have the same counter as ftp+ bu right now. Awareness of your surroundings is a huge thing.

If you can't notice that a second survivor is literally following your chase, and it happens regularly enough to complain about the perks needing nerfed, or you can't look around before getting so excited to pick up immediately after the blade wipe finishes, then there's nothing the devs can do to help you.

If you think that survivors are somehow gods at keeping hidden while following a chase regularly enough to pull these combos off consistently, are you even trying to bait it out in any way? I doubt it, since the most common thing seen on the forums is to post immediately the first time something like this catches you.

These are basic game sense and observation things. Most killers aren't even aware of how long their chases are, and literally get tunnel vision on one survivor. There are an astounding number of 'high MMR' killers on these boards who self-admit they fail at one or more of these fundamentals. If you aren't even doing these sometimes, accidentally, then there's nothing, nothing the devs will be able to do for you.

I don't mean to bring up theoretical perks in a vacuum, but anyone serious about "creating content" with flashbangs is probably going to back themselves up with Cat Perk and Fixated.

Cat Perk directly counters having ears, and Fixated directly counters having eyeballs. On levels like Toba Landing, you can't seriously be expected to check every Bush.

There's literally nothing to bait. You have to install pickup against these folks and Pray that they are a millisecond too late, because hesitating will just confirm the save.

  • Bill, a Vietnam vet, wouldn't wear Oakleys but hey, anything goes in Entity's realm. Maybe it enjoys torturing ppl with a sense for detail

  • I'd make a trade where Wesker gets a lullaby if we remove Huntress'

Huntress annoying noises is noise pollution to me, doubly so with Baba Yaga. I can't stand that skin

  • I'll take head nodding over Tricksters misophonia inducing knife tossing.

I haven't seen this though personally, it's usually just incessant hook slapping

My off limits perk design is already in the game. I don't think perks should regress generators or make filling a progress bar take longer. Strictly speaking from a gameplay perspective, not a balance one. Obviously things would have to change in other areas if regression and slowdown went away. But DbD should speed up IMO. Trials can be a bit of a slog.

I loved the bite sized dbd gameplay of My Little Oni. Felt like the regular solo q experience but condensed

I'm guessing this is confirmation that BHVR rolled back their November MMR changes? I suspected it since my games started feeling bad again after all the content creators complained. Otz said at the time he would stop doing win streaks because of the changes, and if he's back to doing them I guess the changes were rolled back.

You're forgetting that unknown is otz favourite killer in a long while. Killers like xeno and chuckles got stale in a month and have limited skill expression

FFact Is, otz just didn't really have motivation to bother. Don't blame him, who'd want to play chucky or knight 50x?

I feel the same way as otz for once. Great killer, very strong but also fun to face with counterplaay

  • Roasting some Alien BBQ is just satisfying

BOO BOO BEEP BEEP BOO BOO BEEP BEEP BOO BOO BEEP BEEP

    "EEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Shame I'm a minority on this.

I'm fine with no P100 rewards, to be honest. It isn't really needed.

I feel the whole point of prestige is that there is no reward for it, hence the prestige.

That doesn’t stop the forced short M1 attack bug, that can steal hits from the killer.

Nothing can’t block that bug from occurring. The proximity checks happen throughout a lunge, so we can’t even bypass it by starting the lunge while looking away from the survivor.

It doesn't stop it, but I find it does help a little, especially if the survivor is 360ing. Waving your attack around spreads your damage hitbox a bit.

Hmmm. Can we chat about Sloppy for a moment? Do killers find this that useful? With as many resil users and such are, I just wanted to chat a bit about it for insight. ty!

Sloppy was fantastic when it offered eternal hemorrhage. I never used that perk for mangled.

Update kinda killed it. Shame, because Sloppy Surge was typically the only slowdowns I ran on m1 killers

  • I should be working and doing my job, but you asked nicely so how can I say no.

  • Do you use controller? Maybe there's slight drift or something. M

  • The very first build I used was Lethal, Nurse, Unforeseen and Nowhere to Hide ans tbh, I'm struggling because I keep coming back to this build. Only Nurses feels like the 1 piece I can swap out.

I'm contemplating a slowdown perk in favour of Nurses but for now, I just don't know what because I have a hard time unequipping this build lol.

For reference, I think Captured by the Dark and Vanishing Box are hands down his best add-on set. I go into matches running at full speed, balls to the wall. I'm looking to injure, maybe down, in the first 30 seconds.

  • Been bugged for months, but nobody cares because people don't like him.

Even amongst my friend groups I just get a "Good maybe I'll see less Pinheads" :(

  • I see no reason why Nemmy shouldn't be able to hit up Amazon for same day delivery of 1 use Rocket that insta downs anyone caught in the blast, breaking everything around it but it has insane arc preventing it from having any real long range applications

Lock it to Tier 3 and make it spawn in a crate. Make wielding it move Nemmy at 80 or 90 speed. Give it an air raid siren.

I don't see the big deal, it's OK for some things to just be fun and not everything needs to appeal to tryhards

Medkits with the number 8 on them. Flashlights that shows a bright "8" on walls and floor. Also I want to win 8 games in a row 8 times in 8 days and I want 8 minutes matchmaking ban for players forgetting to use a cake.

    I would 8 that

  • What does skill expression mean, exactly?

Back in my day, youngins had to cleanse all 5 totems going to AND from school....and they liked it! Harumph! Where is the skill in having a totem aura?

Some things I just couldn't care less about if it means a good time for all

  • Maybe I'll get bores of Unknown once I master every inch of every map and know every combo and angle for guaranteed UVX hits.

I guess you could compare Unknown to bump logic Blight, and maybe that's too boring and predictable for some but for me, I'm content with spending my time getting to that point where he'll be boring. I love obsessing over something for a while.

I lost interest in Xeno and Chucky in like, less than a month so this guy is already doing much better than recent killers.

  • Situations like these make me sad that people were so quick to scoff and sneer at old Background Player; that was the only perk that could deny an immediate hook trade

  • If I had to pick one, I'd have to pick none because I love too many combos. This is why I'm perpetually single.

Right now I'm appreciating Wicked+Second Wind on Survivor.

Reviving a survivor lol, but it would make for a good invocation now that I think about it.

Something like Invocation: Fourth chance: After wasting 120 seconds doing in the basement gain a hook state. The next time a survivor dies they instead resurrect in the basement and are afflicted with the broken status for the remainder of the trial.

I'd laugh if that perk just resurrected a bot

  • Biopod thinks it's trying to reveal Ghostface

  • I don't mind them for DCs. I think it's funny to rescue them in the end game

played over 200 matches since he released and have seen 3 so far. I don’t think people like the fact you can’t miss at all or else they remove weakened.

If you just never miss, he's pretty great! Removing weakened means nothing if you just hit every shot.

  • Sable has 2 good perks, Unknown has 1 and is a good killer but seems to be an acquired taste.

Seems like a W all things considered for a shard chapter.

  • I kinda wish there wasn't a delay for the Perk to activate

  • @jotaro said:

Yeah no, i agree with Ilikechips, they just dont fit in dbd because in reality they would just kill the killers. Same with the AOT skins, like come on, Mikasa and Levi would easily just kill the killer

And a normal Dwight would probably be instakilled by a few killers+being put on a hook. And Somehow a college age girl can break a pallet by kicking it.

The Entity buffs and nerfs both sides

I toyed around with Dissolution for a while and it’s not bad per se but ultimately felt like it was niche scenarios I got value whereas STBFL instead gave me consistent value. I also liked how stbfl counters the survivors piling in for an end game hook rescue. Rapid feels like an auto lock on her for me, so good. With rapid + stbfl +her haste + their hinder she catches up after a hit SO fast. They don’t expect it. I’ve rewatched people streaming the matches and they’re always like how did she catch up so fast.

I've been memeing around by also dabbling in Forced Hesitation and sometimes Machine Learning. A few times a survivor has spam vaulted at loops like Cowtree thinking I'm a Chess Merchant but I gladly take em on then

"Loop this ya filthy casual! mwahaha!"

Machine Learning is more of a liability but Forced Hesitation is really nice for those quad Background Player lobbies I seem to get at least once a night.

  • This is still here!? I saw this on Hawkins a month ago. I thought maybe it was a Hawkins bug. Both lockers and pig boxes were messed up

Interesting that you could open it, though. I'm pretty sure my half stuck in a wall Pig Box was straight up broken, but I don't remember about the locker

  • Tooth shows Pinhead where the box is. Lament Configuration blocks box aura only for survivors.

YOu trade chain hunt value foe on demand screaming and stealth

  • @Neaxolotl said:

I think MLO event was pretty much hide and seek only game mode?

You can drop pallet but you can't slide it

KKinda Yeah. Hide n seek solo q basically where everybody even swf play for their own survival. Survivors win by just not dying.

The thing was, if your team knows that then you don't really need much communication.

Chases were still fun imo because once you understood that Onis will never break pallets and just bloodlust you, you gotta actually play the pallets and try for stuns. Pre dropping was totally worthless which honestly wasn't a big deal considering the gen speeds and easy gates.

  • All my killer skills I attribute to Legion. I used them before the rework on old Cornwind with old Dead Hard and Iron Will. I have no problems not using a power because I'm used to not having any lol

I enjoy m1 chases, but I need a break once in a while and just want to use powers. As an m1 enthusiast, I've been absolutely impressed by the Unknown he feels so convenient to me as somebody who needs an m1 break.

I will say though, Trickster being 115 has kinda killed this killer for me even as a console plebian.

  • There's just not enough perk slots to even contemplate this perk. Alan's boon is way more useful and practical

  • I've been playing him a ton, tbh it's not that big a deal. The current setup either forces me to not miss, or break Line of Sight.

I feel keeping mental track of Survivors Weakened state is important because if a Survivor has you 99d then breaking LoS is just a waste of time. I feel like the current setup is fair for both sides.

  • @Espshiva said:

I think they need to change the fact you have to look at him to remove the effect he gives you, maybe make it slow degrading or something but unless your a skilled looper or know the map insanely well, your dead

TThat Would just encourage Unknowns to basic attack you if Weakened passively went down. It would also "weaken" his strategy of breaking Line of Sight in order to preserve Weakened effect.

At that point, this killer may as well be Trickster. Encouraging Survivors to make eye contact makes interacting with the killer appealing which I think is healthy.

  • People are just emotionally unstable. It's not your perk

  • @ExcelSword said:

I find very strange how everyone is forgiving of the fact this killer can hit through walls, when it's clearly not intentional.

Could you imagine if they decreased the size of huntress Hatchets to a 10th of the size, but could hit survivors through solid walls as well? Even if it is very difficult it still would not be balanced.

They should make it more difficult to remove the weakened status effect and fix the are going through completely solid walls or ceilings. Splash damage against Half walls or where you can visibly see the survivor I would be fine getting hit through though. A killer shouldn't need to rely on bugs just because their power at base is not very dangerous needing to hit 3 times.

It is intentional, though. Unknowns power and add-ons reference UVXs Splash Zone because this killer was designed around the concept of "facing the unknown head on"

You have to walk up to Hallucinations, and taking UVX directly is equivalent to the "Eye of the Storm" by not taking direct damage.

The tips also mention needing to use odd angles and the bounce mechanic. If this killer was meant to hit you directly, he would only ever go for animation lock hits like Pyramid Head or zone you with his power(moreso than he already does now) like Chucky.

  • Could it be packet loss?

  • I personally think 3rd Seal Skull Merchant is funny; those drones apply Blindness, which excites Survivors when they get additional interactions with the killer and have even more reasons to leave a Generator!

  • Eh, that sounds like it'd encourage you to farm DCs as a potential backup win condition for the challenge.

This player base is very "technically correct!!!!1" so I think it'd be a terrible addition.

  • These are all terrible. I might unironically buy Jonahs headpiece once it's available for shards though

  • Will this affect things like Maddeningfields House of Lag?

  • This information still isn't enough to convince me to stop playing Unknown and go back to that killer

It hurts because Queenie has my favorite model , animations and noises.

  • This would put my killer into the dying state,

1 … 71 72 73 74 75 … 77
