This is not something to be celebrating. The trouble with the trickster is despite being a ranged killer he has to hit people multiple times to get value, he can’t arc shots like huntress can(unless he uses the bounce add on to ricochet off of surfaces), survivors have the terrain to block shots, he has a smaller ammo pool now, exhaustion perks exist, and body blocking and endurance exists. While the decrease to the laceration meter is appreciated the nerf to the base moment speed in this generator economy means he has a much harder time finding chasing and downing survivors before all the gens are done. His multi hit nature seems like a good compromise to have the 115 moment speed, as he just isn’t good enough to keep up with the game otherwise.
I just found 115 trickster so insufferably boring; you land 2 guaranteed, impossible to miss knives and repeat until injury or you just get a bat hit.
I know 110 is rough, we are seeing that for Henry right now with the also boring pre run meta. but I feel the 110 let's trickster fulfil his murder fantasy guilt free because 115 trickster just can't be as deadly with power as 110 trickster.

the only difference id like to see this time is maybe 1 giant and 8 regular sized people.
in the first mlo, it was pretty survivor sided in the sense that the killer could expect 1 guaranteed kill and the other 3 would escape, on average. it was a fun mode to practice survivor fundamentals. it's made for the likes of ayrun.
so instead of that, that's why I'd like to see 1v8 MLO to ramp up the violence. it was so refreshing not being tunneled or camped out since it's impossible. slugging ain't really a deal either. all the things people hate, gone, plus building loop skills yet people turned their nose at it because they refused to read the rules.

Biggest issue I see is that gens are being done in the corners first, which makes it much easier for the killers to pressure the unfinished ones

Yeah, you're right. Their path is crystal clear. Sad how this game ends up to be.
no, you didn't lol. pulsars many things but he's the forum Steve he can take a punch.
-
that's funny because that's how I feel about survivor. you should be getting 6 escapes every game. it's so easy that I refuse to use escapist because I want a challenge.
a lot of killer wins happen because survivors won't be efficient or do the wrong generators.
-
I'm of the opinion that doing something that's a complete waste of time is its own reward, hence the prestige. I was worried that we were gonna get something cool. I'm glad bhvrs got my back
-
I'm actually surprised to see vecna so high. he has a baked in 1/20 chance of getting cooked because of his own kit. happy for him though he deserves all the love he gets.

Yh come to think of it I haven't played against a bodyblock/sabo squad in ages. I miss people playing like that. They were so easy to counterplay. And satisfying to stomp.
feels bad when you're new or unprepared, but yeah I wish I saw more of them. I know I sound like paranoid and delusional but Finesse haunts my lobbies. I see 3x of that perk paired with exhaustion all the time, and all they can do is hold checkspots, never commit to anything and hold w until the end of time. it's so insanely boring
I actually miss 150% WGLF because I enjoyed having survivors run up in my face to say hello. even though they were invincible.
-
we kinda need at least one killer favoured map in this mode. dividing killers by East and West makes it easy to coordinate. so many open levels to dodge killer powers it's refreshing to have straight narrow and cramped hallways. we've only got Lerys and RPD for that.

I'm not sure what is left to say about Lights Out. It has been the same story twice now. It releases and everyone complains about how it's the worst thing ever. Then the devs say that no one played it. Then it goes away and people ask when it's going to come back. Then predictably people hate it again… Why would it be different the third time? It seems like a failed game mode to me. It was one of those ideas that sounded cooler than it actually was in practice.
lights out failed because bhvr didn't have the heart to tell legion and doctors to enjoy being a trapless trapper. that's it. but it was a huge enough blunder to tank the whole mode. survivor was such a breath of fresh air for solo q otherwise. the mode shows who crutches on perks and items

A lot rests on the survey response, it gives us a strong idea of whether to extend or not…the extension is not always a given.
my only gripe is that the longer 2v8 stays, that means it takes longer to get new Killers and balance changes in the mode. its a weird conundrum to be in because I generally get excited for 2v8

Aren't you kind of exemplifying the OP's point? You are not DbD Batman. Targetting people out of the community because you don't like their behavior isn't righteous or just. It's just trying to upset someone because you enjoy it, which is markedly lacking empathy in itself.
Not that I can't relate, mind you. I'm no saint. I've had my own bouts of 'they deserved it' and should strive to be better as well.nobody else will discourage the behaviour. when I play killer, if I see the last survivors sure I may slug to finish it so we can all move on faster, but to just drag the matches out is torture.
I make attempts to keep finishing the generators, even with 2 survivors at 5 gens. however, if the killer makes it impossible, I will keep making that attempt in good faith. if that means the killer could have played 1 or 2 whole matches if they just hooked, so be it. maybe they'll think of me the next time they try it. I'm just thinking of the next people, I was born with too much empathy.
these killers will always end up resorting to teaming with the survivors because they get upset that I'm simply too good at not being caught
-
Oni and escapist make this mode so obnoxious.
I wanna be cool and be that one person playing PH, but he's such a useless joke because you can't compete with "i win" buttons. I've crashed out hard enough at sprint burst(but I refuse to play oni) that I'm begging for Ghoul if we can't have Legion.
give us something, and nerf the heck out of Oni please
-
current Freddy is strong killer with strong baked in counterplay like vecna 1....he must be rare enough that people simply aren't engaging in his counterplay.
-
I want 2v8 to go away so it can come back sooner with more killers
just chucky isn't enough to warrant a whole return

Much as I dislike tunneling as a tactic, it is necessary in some situations. And in 2v8 it's basically something you're forced to do to secure enough pressure to not get gen rushed for a 1 or 2k.
Plus it's much easier to counter in 2v8. With the sheer number of survivors it's easier to protect unbooked survs so they get away clean and with larger swathes of the map becoming safe once gens are done then double hooked survs have plenty of safe space to find heals. Plus the purified tonics allow you to remove a hook state. And it is rather difficult for killers to target individual survs unless they are playing with a very distinctive skin.
slugging, too. slugged survivors give no gen boost or work any gens while you kick/break/enjoy the atmosphere. I slug in the 2v8 way more than 1v4
-
"I'm not responsible for your fun, therefore I'm legally obligated to slug in the 1v2 every time for the 4k"
people like this are why people don't stick around. complete lack of empathy. I enjoy upsetting these people because quite frankly, they're a net negative to the community experience.

You are seriously explaining their power to me? I play Legion quite a bit and maybe i didnt make my point clear:
You could add the scratchmarks to help newer players, it just isnt really a buff bc decent killer dont need it. And a buff was what the original post wanted.
On a sidenote if we talk about newer players: legion is fine against them bc they cant loop. So maybe the scratchmarks thing allows them to get away and balances the killer on that skill level.
you kinda need the explanation if you're not understanding how big scratch marks are; try facing shadowstep and see if that affects your gameplay at all.
the current system heavily discourages using power without LoS. this buff would let legions be more liberal

@Classic_Rando said:
As others have said, you can pick yourself up using your special ability. Slugging is a non-issue in 2v8 now.
one thing I'll say thought in defense of OP is that the mode encourages some light, casual slugging. both sides feel compelled to metagame the catchup mechanic (99 gens to speed up your team gens, slug survivors to prevent faster repairs and keep them hostage while you break stuff)
I will say i have yet to see 2 killers go 100% slug only bleedout on everybody, so I can't comment on the efficiency of that. however, if a killer does want to go this route, or if they do so when it's almost hatch time, you can jump in a locker anytime to force the grab.
I had a wesker+ wraith literally stand at my locker for almost 10 minutes one time because they HAD to slug for the 8k. nah, come grab me.
-
hearing no plans for legion is honestly kinda reassuring! I mained them back when they were popularly considered the worst killer in dbd next to Mike, pig and Trapper. I love having an ol reliable I can count on

I'll sit tight then thanks Mandy!

Appreciate the feedback on this…there wasn't actually a QA at all, it was not intended, it was purely that we managed to grab some questions from chat that were being asked the most to just clarify things where we saw confusion on what we were presenting. As you likely saw, it was a long stream with a lot of information and it was important to us that the information was clear on what we were showing.
When we do QA's we will likely do dedicated ones, that way we can get to more questions - Twitch / YouTube chat is moving fast and things can very easily get missed.
are we going to hear about the 10th anniversary meetup soon?
-
because the mode is so laughably survivor sided? your only two options are slugging and contesting cages/tunneling off cages.
why don't you just use Unbreakable?

Annoying for first time than just predrop simulator not to mention it was only good on few killers that get break like bubba either he breaks with saw or gets stun and breaks with spirits+ endurending or legion with iri button.
Nothing strong only works at first but when you find out he has it (those two perks) its just so easy to counter not to mention swf hust needs to see it once and than its dead, just another thing dead in perk variety replaced by stale gen deffence/slowdown meta nothing else here.
yeah, I don't get it. it's a fun spooky surprise the first time, then you go "ok, anyways..." and pre drop the rest of the match. and you know the killer wasted most of their loadout just to force you to pre drop
its just....eh? why are we changing meme builds when there are more actual matters to address in regards to killer balance?
-
I don't believe he could be 4.6 with his 6 knives to injure, unless something drastic has changed in his kit elsewhere.
I'm hoping he's 4.4 so he'll be more deadly using knives, I heavily disliked his play style of landing guaranteed knives thats the opposite of tricky
-
I can't help but wonder if this change is needed because kids these days simply lack literacy and attention spans. this has never confused me even as a brand new player. I enjoyed absorbing it all.

I think they should get rid of killer classes and just have something like you mention about addons. Give each killer a few of their own unique builds instead of overall classes - but this is probably something they needed to do awhile ago, keeps getting more difficult as they add more killers.

Because that's a personal issue, not about game health. The problem with 2v8 isn't people not playing it, its the difference in where people want to play.
If you don't want to play killer in 2v8 or 2v8 at all, that's fine, but its not reflective of the BHVR is facing that @Philscooper brings up.
no, I'm telling you why would anyone want to play survivor now? obviously people are, myself included, I'm just telling you that why these 2v8s are mid from a survivor pov.
I'm trying to claim that killer diversity helps survivor just as much if not moreso than killers. our friend is tunnel visioning on seeing killer additions in the wrong light and I'm trying to help, as a 100% bloodpoint main that plays all sides
-
I still use them because I'm a trendsetter and a trailblazer but any buff would be appreciated
-
@Philscooper said:
"How do we make people play more survivor?"
"By adding more killers and buffing more killers"
"Nerf escapist"
"Nerf pallets and gens"
"Give killers addons"
increased killer queue to an hour
he's right though. why would I play 2v8 survivor when ST released? we don't know if vecna 2 will disappear like vecna 1, so I have no real desire to play when I'm feeling 1v4 FOMO
2v8 also doesn't have any of my favourite killers. why would I want to face killers I despise (Wraith, Oni, trapper) when I could play 1v4 and face wholesome Springtrap who is always a barrel of laughs?
-
you don't have to tunnel. survivors just encourage it by playing correctly by playing super safe with Finesse, and pre running and calling you out on comms or auras. they'll never give you the hits so you sometimes have to pretend to tunnel to force these checkspot campers to actually do something.
-

It is still a 3v1, since Bots are in general quite useless. I mean, they provide Pain Res and PGTW to the Killer and if they are incredible fancy, they bodyblock other Survivors because they crouch in Loops.
But the Survivor Team has not really any advantage when there is a Bot on their team.
the bots sometimes do gens while the killer ignores the bots completely

Killer will ALWAYS have long queue times in 2v8, just because playing co-op with another Killer is something you can only do in 2v8. Like even in the current state of 2v8, Survivor is absurdly overpowered compared to Killer yet everyone still wants to play as Killer because it's unique.
Like the only way Killer queue times will ever not be stupidly long in 2v8 is if they do something crazy like giving out Iridescent Shards for playing Survivor, which they will never do.it's like teaching kids; they get paid like dirt because everyone knows that everybody wants to help kids.
