  • that's just negativity bias in action; how many times do ttvs get tunneled in the name of "content creation" or because the killer hates ttvs?

You surprised? Im not on two one of the most popular characters new skins for event, kinda easy to expect.

Goth girl and Golden child who else, I hope they will be worth it.

Best way to play killer before was to slap endgame perks plus some chase and ingfo perks (not bound to gens like nowhere to hide) and try to get kill before endgame so you could destroy rest with that endgame build because blood gens were done in like 30-45 seconds when two people did one so all you had to do was as survivor 4 blood gens ( took like max 60 seconds but average time was like around 40 seconds) and one normal gen.

I kinda of liked the perk shake up tbh. I quite enjoyed using Spies as my info perk for a change.

it's not that I have an anti killer agenda or something it's just that we all know some people enjoy events because they see them as free slowdown. the blood gens were kinda ridiculous but it forced killers to cut off the blood supply routes. made facing ghoul every match somewhat bearable

  • I really wanted to like Shoulder because I feel it solves the problem that chase perks like scene Partner cause; you are simply too badass for killers to want to bother with so they just give up on you entirely and focus on a 3v1. I theorycrafted that Shoulder was the perfect silver bullet for that by being able to appropriately leverage your hook states.

    Taking notes…

I'm only just starting to branch out into stranger builds for killer. Still very milquetoast on survivor though. Considering the effects of things etc. so this is actually super helpful, thanks!

no problem:) creating builds is honestly half the reason I play. if you end up enjoying the play style you could take a look at Dracula too he had a similar deal with his wolf addons (i ended up dabbling in terror radius chuck because i played a lot of wolf only dracula in events)

  • I just can't make it to the hooks in time. its not a matter of me being slow, I also don't want to farm people just for perk value.

yet another reason we need to see perks in lobbies

  • for me I can't stand his noise pollution of the knives shattering. trickster main evening me on the hook makes me internally scream

  • I have no shame in using training wheels; I use iron maiden and the reload addon. I refuse to be caught carrying less than 6 knives at any time.

The notorious update 6.1 is a good example

I actually believe that the 6.1 patch was when BHVR stopped doing this, coincidentally.

Because prior to 6.1, the community mindset was "gens weren't worth kicking", and the game was pushed toward killers constantly being in chase. So much so that even the 3s animation was considered a waste of time. Not to say that things like camping and tunneling didn't exist, but it was at least lesser.

And all of the meta perks at the time had chase as a core component: ruin, undying, tinkerer, lethal, BBQ, and I'm sure I'm forgetting one or two. These all pushed killers in the direction of "leave hook alone and go push survivors off gens", which I personally think was far more fun (for everyone), much healthier gameplay, and inherently slowed the game because juggling survivors kept them off gens.

All of that disappeared in 6.1, and BHVR "listened" to the community and just nerfed the meta to shake things up. Lopped of the top of the most used perks and just tossed random changes in to fill in the gaps.

I sincerely doubt that anyone actually designed the gen kick and 3 gen metas. Or if they did, they should be fired. Because simply asking the base level question of "what should gameplay look like" would give you the answer: probably not fighting for complete control over the objective at the expense of player interaction.

And the fact that it took a year to fix it also indicates that they had nothing to look to for "how should the game look", because the answer should've been "anything except that". If they had an idea of how gameplay should look, it wouldn't take a year to realign with that game direction.

Genuinely, I think that patch (largely) was the start of the community dictating have direction to BHVR. BHVR did make changes, but it definitely was not a good change for the game, at least not gameplay wise. It might've been profitable, apparently.

And, that's not to say everything was bad in that patch: removing DH for distance, Conspicuous actions, and base kit BT were desperately needed and healthy changes. But the community to this day still thinks of the game as controlling gens first, instead of player interaction, and I think that was absolutely for the worse.

6.1 was a good update that the game needed. we went from so many staple MUST HAVE perks or you're TROLLING basically to "4 good comfy perks". it's just unfortunate we had some duds like the calm spirit nerfs, nerfing iron will the wrong way, and creating eruption overbrine. I felt so liberated not needing to be shackled by meta anymore. people may say there's still a meta but there's 0 perk you have to run on survivor anymore.

and while so many meta perks got the axe, I feel so many crap perks got boosted but people just forgot them because again, people only fixate on meta. 6.1 gave us a proper functioning NOLB which made me very excited.

  • I know everybody else hated it but idk if I like perks and such affecting blood gens I'll have to see if the balance is any different. watching people still stack Slowdowns and getting destroyed by the blood gens was quite cathartic idk why we listened to those poor blight/ghoul players wanting their pain resonance value.

Pinheads hooks are rather complicated in how they are tough to control like billys curving. Also when to use them in a loop as some times they slow the survivor down but then they just vault anyway etc. And since they don't damage other than the 1 addon, its quite the underwhelming power unless youve gotten the hang of the timing and aim.

Xenomorphs tail requires pinpoint precision as it will hit off the slightest piece of wood or even the turret in their hands like a shield lol, and if you miss striking a turret with it there goes your power.

And then id say unknown is one of those killers where you have to know exactly where the shot will bounce without it ever being shown to you, because everytime you miss you have to hit 2 more times. And i still don't understand much about placing my own illusions

I find it easy to see the hallucinations as uncontrollable bouts of diarrhea. you can try to hold it in but eventually you gotta find a trash can

I just went through my 30-game match history. I found 6 whole people running Fast Track in my 19 survivor matches, out of 57 people (excluding myself). These were all team loses except for one tie.

In my 11 killer matches, it appeared once. I won that match.

If you want to tunnel and mori, do it. But don't blame a mediocre perk that very few people are using and act like you're a victim of circumstance. Is NOED fair? Deadlock? Batteries Included? These are all perks that passively reward the killer for survivors doing their objective.

I'm seeing exactly 2 fast tracks per lobby but tbh i couldn't tell you if it's making any difference. maybe I suck, maybe it's my killer, maybe it's the map, maybe it's just rng, maybe it's Maybelline.

  • rip double iri Myers the 0 hook king

  • maybe it's a UI bug right now vecna is bugged where his Dispelling orb removes generator repair progress for survivors

  • @Wezqu said:

No would increase lobby dodging/shopping as if people would know what others have they will dodge for not liking perk they chose or them not having build the agree on. Its better they don't know and there is the before match chat you can share your info there if you want.

good be ause I'm tired of survivors throwing temper tantrums and giving up or running the killer into me because they hate me.

as a treacherous crows main nobody here understands my frustration. let these people dodge.

The non-god pallets are so weak. Just doesn't feel like there's anything you can do with them on most of the map.

I heard somebody say xeno was good on this new map so I tested them and I was surprised myself, this is probably why.

Oh, it was certainly worth it for the moment, but part of me wishes I gave her a spook first.

I'm going to try a small TR build next, methinks.

I assume every match will be 4 man swf on comms (not true) but having that expectation helps manage expectations for me. in my case with chuck, I found at the very least it helps manage the amount of pre running a little bit. I had tested his range before the monitor changes and Chuck could basically be at the other end of Eyrie shack and you wouldn't know.

the slower charge on the dash wasn't as big of a deal as I had seen it made out to be(the pillow I think?)

the nice thing about TR Chuck is that survivors are conditioned to be on guard when Chuck goes into hidey ho mode so delaying your power usage until yourw right on top of somebody can throw people off since not many Chuck's do that

I might have to dust this build off myself for a round. maybe I'll try it with Deerstalker just to make sure nobody sees me coming

  • stealth can be okay. he has his burst of killer Instinct at s rank but I had some fun with "barefoot cheryl" where I just shadowstepped a LoS blocking area and ran it with Lightfooted.

  • I guess this thread is more about killers good with their hands, and less about what's going on upstairs? because despite the simple gameplay, both cenobite and unknown require astronomical amounts of brain power far exceeding other killers by a country mile. you simply cannot truly understand and master unknown if you aren't personally feeling out new maps and seeing how the bounces play. shooting at peoples feet only takes you so far.

for pure mechanics, idk tbh. I feel most killers are simply muscle memory and making reads. like I guess Dracula is a bit mechanical but what separates a good drac from a great one is one that confidently hard sends a Hellfire expecting a survivor to run into it.

lich and Freddy I find mechanically stimulating but idk if it's really challenging.

  • bhvr should partner with their their former mobile friends Netease because most people i report get action taken pretty quickly on rivals

  • disconnecting against new survivors using their perks is the last way for some people to exert control over others." I can't win? well, you'll get nothing from me!" it's really sad because you know they likely DCd because they saw the Kwon.

  • I just assumed that was a glitch tbh I thought only the demented laugh was a cue. TIL.

  • Chucky has anti synergy with undetectable so that means if you want to be sneaky you should be looking at terror radius reductions. he has a couple addons for that. it's been many months since I dabbled in it(before the monitor nerfs) but chuckys terror radius could go as low as like 8 or 12, always mix him up with Dracula

  • I do just fine with Deerstalker

  • it's only like 15 seconds until they return so you have an idea where somebody was about 15 20 seconds ago. sometimes that one crow is all I need to check that one locker.

  • please give us some controller settings. also the crosshairs addon doesn't seem that great.

  • dang, apparently there's no spots on the train from Ottawa to mtl the whole month of June RIP

As much as I adore birds myself, I also voted for that perk, the only other survivor perk that utilises crows in any way is treacherous crows which does pretty much nothing, and I'd like to see crows utilised a lot more.

I figure I'm the only human on the planet who uses treacherous crows so I figured the forums would be amused/entertained by my unique dilemma.

Keep the Boon in the darkest corner you can find, BHVR.

I'm sorry for what I had to do for the birds :(

  • whoa whoa whoa hold your horses! springyboi is my favourite killer to face! whenever I load in and see a door I get a big fat grin on my face.

  • I preferred the old smoke making it hard to see but 4 charges is a huge win. I religiously use them for my no Mither treacherous crows build so I'm happy to have 2 extra charges since my first 2 were spoken for (counter lethal, then leave the bssement)

    Stronger in what?

He is better in open areas and lower profile/wall loops I get it but thats where he didnt struggle even before this rework or even after he was first released but now he feels like frozen nutela sepecialy on high wall loops the combination of slower movement speed with less knifes and shorter laceration duration is realy terrible plus ranks do nothing till you get s-rank.

hes basically a chainsaw killer now if you happen to get near somebody they just immediately explode. now whether or not that's worth the mental fatigue of being looped around rocks is up to you. The community has decided for Henry "this is not worth it" and dropped him. I'm sure most will drop Trickster, too. But I think that's okay. 115 Trickster wasn't really in a good spot anyway

  • he's both stronger and more frustrating. he's now in the same tier as Henry.

I finished Lost recently and cannot get the idea of John Locke as a survivor and an island map out of my head.

The hatch in DBD could be redesigned to look like the hatch on the show for the map, and anyone whose seen Lost has the absolutely generational feats this man has pulled off.

Add him to the survivor catalogue and I'd play him as much as Trevor, Ash, and the RE gang. Long shot licence, but don't tell me what I can't do!

you dredged up some core memories for me there, whoa. I had forgotten about Lost. I remember my mom pirating it off limewire and we'd watch it together on the PC lol. Locke was my favourite

  • I have to wait until after work to buy them I hope Singularity doesn't buy them all!

  • that addon does look strong to me i can't wait to try it.

  • keep it up and maybe one day I'll face your krasue

  • it's nice to have the real killer back even though people hate 110.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/465224/nearing-4k-hours-and-just-finally-faced-my-3rd-krasue

Ok, but how many of those hours were from before the release of the Krasue chapter?

Or have you been playing that much ever since?

I took one break for about a month sometime after the content drought but I've been playing religiously since the ST reveal. I rarely see The First either.

  • I hate relying on addons, but these days I crutch on her iri seal and prayer tablet; let em all get injured, and let em pay for it. I take tinkerer and mindbreaker to come say hi.

  • parasyte: the maxim. the killers are sort of in that mimic territory since the parasites take over people's brains however stealth is just something that's convenient for them to live in a society. I believe The Parasyte could easily hit Legion tier popularity just for being able to open up the possibility of a killer choosing from survivor cosmetics (not licenced obviously)

  • I've mentioned it already, but I've been doing more tests on Cenobite and I'm really liking Deerstalker. I've been finding my chain hunt pressure to be a little more consistent. this killer requires AI level computer processing power I'm glad to have an ok option to help offload some of that mental burden in regards to macro decision making. I say this because Pinhead requires me to know where all 5 actors could be at a given time. it's no Hoarder but it's something. Small example, but I just came out of a match where Deerstalker ratted out every single box grabber which helped me contest every box and I almost had chain hunt the whole match but the survivors resolved one hunt due to my own user error.

This isn't saying much since this perk is outdated, but deerstalker at the bare minimum is a flat out upgrade of Whispers. 1v1 or 2v1 is a flat out death sentence. win more application but still worth mentioning. I purposefully haven't mentioned the aura reflection component, but it is appreciated as an m1 killer.

  • I waited 2 years for this. you're darn right im excited to be slow again.

  • @InfectedBucket said:

Alright, after testing I have a couple interesting conclusions. Object and Deerstalker interact really simply, exactly as you'd assume, even if not in sync they just do what you'd expect, no infinite aura shenanigans or anything. Reconfirmed that Wiretap doesn't work with Deerstalker, HOWEVER, curiously enough, the Crimson Stamp add-on for the map DOES activate Deerstalker despite its near identical mechanic to Wiretap. And lastly, We See You's 15 second aura read on the killer once reaching 4 stacks shows EVERY SURVIVOR to the killer. Even if they aren't the one with We See You. So beware that when trying to help out your team with that perk.

that We See You interaction is good to know thank you

  • @Brimp said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4063754#Comment_4063754

So tell me what happens when you run this on the half of the roster that can't do anything with said aura reading? You actively have a perk that could nerf you mid chase by revealing your aura as a survivor having aura reading on the killer is actively more powerful than the killer having aura reading on the survivor especially mid chase.

Like cool you can find someone every 30 seconds but like I said if they're across the map its NOT worth going for them as a majority of killers. Also why do you think promoting slugging is bad? Its quite literally the same as hooking but it takes LONGER to die and you can move around. Always found that double standard weird when both essentially do the same but hooking is a faster more check pointy system to killing a survivor thanks to stages.

you don't need to chase the person it reveals it can just be useful info.

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

I actually still use deerstalker. I get a lot of value with it. ❤️

I was just thinking about making a deerstalker appreciation post lol. I was away for a bit and didn't realize it got made into a killer Object.

it's been pretty good at finding people trying to go for my Lament Configuration.

  • I've been excited to go for a while! sadly I've hit some serious setbacks in life so my futures uncertain for now. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for the 19th though.

maybe shroompy will let me in through the back door

  • I have no room for DS in my builds. it's good but in no way is it essential.

  • I kinda preferred manually recovering because I'd like the option to indicate that I do not want to be picked up; sitting still is an easily identified action, but crawling to prevent auto recover can just be seen as slug positioning

  • I thought of another one; when I was being taught the meta perks, I didn't understand why recovering 5% with Unbreakable was such a huge deal. why take a perk to recover 5% when a teammate could do that for free?
