I can't think of any survivor perks that give you a new form of counterplay directly at the start of the match. Also, whataboutism is a known problem in this community and instantly jumping in with "BUT WHAT ABOUT [completely different thing] is a good way to not get taken seriously.
You still have to spend time to actually break the doors to charge it, you don't get it off the bat. Calling out the comparison between two things and then labelling it "whataboutism" to deny the comparison, I would say is a way to not be taken seriously. Given all the perks in the game, I highly doubt that spirit fury being charged by doors would be an issue.

Are we just going to ignore that maps like Dead Dawg would allow you to have Spirit Fury 20 seconds in if this was a thing? Or are we pretending the devs are moustache twirling villains still?
And? Given all the nonsense survivors get I think it would be ok.

DS isn't this unstoppable force, there are so many way to counter it, including purposely eating the stuns early on! I'm not a very good killer but that's just common sense, or, take a chase without straying too far for a quick re-down and a hit on the healer! DS is not an issue and is not overly powerful, its offensive use is the issue!
On the other side though, the undying nerf wasn't called for, to such a magnitude as well! They could have taken a much better route. It's unfortunate as well because any post explicitly about this on the forums just gets bombarded by entitled survivors who think they are the be all and end all of this game! It's really unfortunate, because of the amount of community resistance (survivors), they wouldn't think about rebalancing undying!
You admit that you're not a good killer. This shows because you don't understand the power of DS. Also, "eating it early" is not a counter...
-
Because that would help killers. Devs don't do that.

And that's the heart of the issue, isn't?
Whenever a Survivor perk is nerfed, it's because it's unbalanced, overused, problematic, etc. Ruin is all of those things.
But whenever a killer or one of their perks is it, it's an outrage, devs are catering to survivors, it's okay for killers to have stupidly strong perks because "gens too fast!!!".
Yeah, all of MoM, Self-Care, and BL needed a nerf. So did Ruin, whether or not this particular change is good or not.
It's a 4v1. Getting hit with 4 broken perks is a lot worse than getting hit with 1.

I can only think of using antidote for fast travel across map, or baby agitation.
I dont think use antidote on loop, wall will have anyuse. Just spam all tonic on those place and it already guarantee a hit.
Pretty much this. People have been saying speed+regular tonics on loops but it's too much micro and all you do is risk giving them a speed boost.
-
@csandman1977 said:
I just feel like the devs made a unique power that has high risk high reward. Using the sonic tonic in chase can backfire tremendously if you are not good at aiming the bottle.
On paper i just think this change is a really good buff
But isn't the normal tonic the same reward for no risk?
-
@JasonS said:
I don't know why it needs to help survivors. Slowing down the survivor by 15% is better than speeding yourself up by 10%, so I don't know why you'd ever use the yellow gas in a loop.
Not that I particularly care because this is still obviously going to be a buff, I just don't understand the logic.
That's what I'm thinking. You will only use it for map mobility but looping will be the same as always w/ a faster reload.
-
I highly doubt the "lure them to the dead zone" trick is gonna work. We already know the tactic and it's not even released yet...
-
Seems like the antidote will just be used for mobility? Like just throw them in front of you so you can get across the map and then business as usual? Not really a huge change but better than nothing along with faster reload. Tbh though, he will probably just move up to the bottom of the next tier, but still will not be a top killer. Kinda meh.
-
Ya cause survivors don't have crutch perks like DS, UB, BT, DH or anything... At least ruin/Undying has a counter...
-
I stopped playing for almost 2 years until last October. Looks like I will once again be shelving this game.

4v1 is fine, but when's the last survivor game you've played? Have you actually gone up against some of the tactics that the lower ranks use? Perks or no, it sucks to work hard for so little pay off (especially vs a locker surfer who only hid and got boosted by finding the hatch), not to mention the "good survivor perks" aren't necessarily always accessible to everyone.
I can't tell to how many times the killer will camp in your face and then patrol once you're in second stage, only to instantly rebook you once you get off. If you've have the unfortunate luck to get caught early you're lucky to walk way with 4000 pts. Personality my lowest ever was against a a killer who did this not 45 seconds into a game. I walked out with just over 3000 pts. I never had a chance to do anything at all. Good player or no it happens and things like this are rough lol
It is what it. Killer is more expensive, which sucks btw, I don't disagree. I think there's just more in it that that.
I play both killer and survivor equally and I'm rank 1 in both. I know both sides and killer is 100% more difficult. Most of the time as survivor you will be holding M1. Meanwhile killer has to be keeping track of many more things and at full attention for the whole match. Imo killer should be getting double what survivors get since they do way more work.
If you die quick as survivor, it sucks but it's the game. The blame is on the devs for making it optimal to tunnel and camp. That said, getting hooked and camped is very rare for me as high rank killers know that this is not a good strat.

Because BBQ isn't broken.

Each killer has their own set of perks/add-ons but survivors just need to invest into their main since they are basically skins. Once you Ha e the teachable you want, no need to change survivors anymore. Plus it's a 4v1
-
Yup. This will help survivor queue times!

It's funny when console players get pumped over 60 fps. This should have been standard long ago!
-
When I see a group join the lobby all on the same platform and roughly the same time, I just find a new lobby. Chances are they're a SWF. Killer Q is quick so no loss for me. SWF is just objectively imbalanced.

We don't want it triggering on getting downed by an addoned Bear Trap, or going down to Deep Wound, etc. It's better game design if we don't start stacking up a series of exceptions.
But why design a killer like Demo with a shred ability that doesn't work with his own perk Surge? It discourages using his ability.
-
They like to pretend that they don't have perks/items to find them. Yet when I run R+U it's gone in 2 mins half the time.

Yikes. So many killers here getting offended by the use of the word “crutch”. The truth is, yes, most killers I run into do in fact use this perk, and it does make me wonder how much a lot of them depend on it. Probably a fair amount, but probably not as much as it would if we took NOED from some and Whispers from others. Everybody has their favorites, but some are clearly more popular than others.
There's a difference between being offended and pointing out that someone is simply wrong.

"Most survivors get mindgamed by simple fakes at shacks"
Only if you're playing new people. I've been playing for years with a few breaks between. I've seen the skill generally rise on those. From anecdotal experience alone this week, you're wrong. Nothing else to say. Good survivors can maintain a shack chase past more than a few fakes and that's while they're blind due to being in the Dream World so I don't have a red stain.
"Yeah staying on gens wins but once again this is pubs not tournaments so you wont see actual optimal teams except for once in a blue moon."
This is also a blatant lie. A few days ago I was rank 6 and going up against two back to back SWFs with an OoO on each team and they were on comms(I asked after the chat to make sure). They were extremely difficult and decked out exactly as they needed to be. That was ranks ago and the skill level has only gotten more difficult to compete with. Like I said, playing past 10 at night it's a whole different game.
"I think you are overestimating how fast these pub survivors are doing gens"
I'm running Oppression and Pop for stall, that should be enough. I can teleport to gens and I run BBQ as well. This should be more than enough but it's not. I should have taken a video of the game I played against console gamers. I assume they were comm'ed up because they were trading off hits and baiting me to the opposite side of the field for a chase. I got down to the last gen and there was nothing I could do. It was over by then. In the first two minutes they had three generators worked on. By around the third minute one was completed, two more were over 90%, and another was beginning to be worked on. By minute five it was basically over and I knew it. I chased one guy for about half the time and hooked him twice. Each time he got unhooked he was healed nearly instantly (no medkits, I assume perks but didn't stay to check).
Are you going to pretend you've never faced a team like this?
I had a game like that yesterday as demogorgon. I got 2 pretty fast downs at the start yet 3 gens popped within 45 secs of each other. I couldn't believe how fast it was and I cut chases short with some good shreds. I tried to save footage of it but the video file was corrupt. I would have liked to show it because it was just unbelievable how fast they were despite me doing well in chases.

I believe this PH did have a few hooks but also has put us in cages a few times. Do the cages even count for altruism points when someone is rescued, because if they don't, that definitely needs to be addressed.
Someone mentioned you get less points for cage rescues.
-
Ya it's pretty garbage. If you beat the Killer so bad that he gets no hooks, you are denied altruism and chase and can depip.

His issue is noob killers and because the killer sucks he depips (yes assuming their gender).
And i'm saying you can't depip against noob killer, if you do that means you're on the same level as a that killer.
You absolutely can. How do you get enough altruism points if no one gets hooked? How do you get enough chase points if you escape too quick? How is he the same skill if he escaped easily?

You do realize if you can't atleast black pip vs a noob killer, you're on the same level as the killer and it's fair for both sides, because you both dont know how to play
I don't think you understand OP and the issue he is describing...

"Most console players won't even bother with the newer- higher skill cap killers because they're just flat out worse to play on console than on PC."
That's not entirely true at all. I hate the whole "killer is better controlled on PC" mentality, because words like that get spread around the console community way too hard, discouraging them from playing said killers.
I main most high skill cap killers on PS4 and I have relatively no issue in gameplay. The one thing that makes sense to agree with you is the individual players themselves that lack the confidence to play higher skill caps, not because of how they perform based on port.
Mouse is more accurate that thumbsticks. It is better on pc when playing killer, especially ones where you need precision and accurate flicks against juking survivors.
-
There's nothing wrong with it. It can be destroyed. Survivors also have bs combos and there's 4 of them.
-
Which is why survivor queue times are long. Killer has to deal with so much bs that not enough people play.
-
@BigBrainMegMain said:
Not enough killers, I'm a killer main and I haven't played the game in a while.
There's no incentive to play killers. Killers are needed and we're punished rather than incentivized to play killer.
Pretty much. Way more pressure on killer. 1 mistake costs you way more than a mistake from them. Any downtime can be gg for you. You have to constantly be at 100% productivity or risk falling too far behind and if you lose your snowball, gg as well.
-
People say bring corrupt but you shouldn't need perks to balance the game. If you're a slow killer on a big map you're almost guaranteed to lose 2 gens near the beginning.
-
Ya the grind is ridiculous. There's a lot of perks that I want and will require millions more BP's to get. It's insane.
-
I mean you can say the same thing about survivor perks that you see all the time; DS, BT etc.

Because other aura reveal perks only have that effect, meanwhile this is an *added* effect to an already powerful perk
It's simply part of the perk. Nothing is 'added'. It's 4 perks vs 16. Why wouldn't killer perks be more powerful?

When I started playing this, it was almost impossible to play as killer. You had to wait more than 10 minutes some times, because everybody wanted to play as killer. As survivor you used to find a match just as quick as it is to killers today. Don't come saying "playing killer just isn't for everyone", because everybody here plays as killer too. Less now because it's really #########. And btw, I'm red rank as killer too, not that hard as you seem to think.
I agree. I stopped playing this game for 1.5 yrs until recently and I remember that survivor queue was a lot quicker than killer queue. Now it's the opposite. I was a killer main back then but now play a lot more survivor. Killer is just ######### to play these days but the survivor queue times are crazy.

Why would it be a bit much? And it fits into exactly why Wraith and Nurse can be lightburned.
With this weakness Spirit's can choose whether to risk using their power in the open or strategically using it when out of LoS. Also gives Survs a choice to keep running or try to burn her.
Also they'd have to guess where she is to burn her while she's phase shifted.
Also the pallet mind game can be played around if the surv has a flashlight. Flashlight does nothing to the spirit? She's probably phase shifting. You hit the blind/burn on her? There she is.
But she's like leaving her body. Whg would flashing a husk burn her?

Is that a challenge? Bet. I'd love to try it out against you, win or lose. To be clear, I said that because I find him pretty easy to loop anyways. His attacks are linear in it comes to rite of judgement. I spent 1 - 3 whole minutes running from this PH because he kept letting me loop him at pallets instead of just breaking them. He spammed the shmt out of ROJ and trails.
Even though I was hit with torment, I escaped all chases. I'm no god but I'm pretty sure that if I face off against you, you'll do better then them but feel free to keep that same mentality. I personally have no idea what I'm getting to but I won't deny a challenge you make one.
Plz record the match and upload for us!
-
When they decide to balance the game and close the gap between solo and SWF. So basically never.
-
Haha ya that's the problem, not enough killers. I used to be a killer main but I'm more 50/50 now. Being chased by a killer is more relaxing than than being the killer. Things are very sweaty in red ranks as well and sometimes I need a break from toxic ######### heads I go up against xD.

Kinda crappy that they will nerf Freddy. I picked him up a few days ago now they will nerf him. If he becomes useless again then it's like a bait and switch. They collect your $ then change him. If you no longer like him then you got duped. I figured after the big rework he would be in the final form. Hell, if you liked old Freddy you got duped since he's so different than release (although I doubt many liked old Freddy but still).

At ranks higher than yellow/green, they need perks to survive to make it to the hatch. Don't purposely misconstrue people's statements.
No you don't, you need luck. If you go the right way and not the killer then you get hatch. Or maybe it spawns near you and you get it. Perhaps it spawns near the killer and you don't get it. Regardless, it's a 50/50 that denies the killer of the kill. If you want to bring things to increase your chances that's on you but people make hatch all the time without extras.
