Not at all. Newer Blight players can simply use his power to get around, and slowly start trying to get more adventurous with his power as they understand how it works. If you know how to M1, you'll be fine.

With Nurse, when you don't know what you're doing you'll just get ran in circles and it's one of the few times you can expect genuine pity from the survivors because new players will be lucky to land a single hit depending on how poorly they do.

This. I returned to the game after 1.5 yrs and picked up Blight. I've been doing well using him as an m1 with mobility and getting rush hits here and there. Starting to pull it off more often. Also was dropped down to rank 17 while away so I got to practice at a lower rank which helps. I normally get 3/4k's with him.

Dunno what you mean with that. Yeah she's reliant on her power but that doesn't really say anything about the mechanical difficulty of them.

If you don't think nurse is mechanically hard, you clearly don't play nurse.

thats not true. youre only editing game user settings to increase fps and the max fps is capped at 120 even if you have a 144hz display or more.

OK well if i get banned, I'm holding you accountable!

you dont risk getting a ban for increasing the fps from 60 to 120

I read that if you edit the files you risk an EAC ban and the devs won't do anything about it.

  • It still runs at 60 fps? Why don't they increase it? Also increase it on pc w/o having to edit files and risk a ban.

You can hear Spirit's groans while she's phasing. This makes standing at a pallet and waiting until you hear which side she's on a viable strategy. It makes facing Spirit super boring.

Oh I see. That severely affects her power. Glad they fixed that.

Freddy because everyone plays him with thana sloppy pop and addons to decrease surv action and doesnt require skill at all

Well let's not pretend survivors don't have no-skill time wasting perks either. Except there's 4 of them.

  • Wait, what was the bug? I've been away for over a year and have been playing mostly Blight since I got back.

  • It seems like you're implying that you shouldn't need to use items/perks to counter him because you listed ways to do it but give an excuse not to.

  • Solo Q and SWF are basically different modes that require different balancing. Anyone who denies that plays SWF and wants to downplay the advantages they get. You can't deny the fact that having comms basically gives you free perks and denies some killer perks. You gain perks like bond, empathy, kindred etc and nullify killer perks like knock out. SWF definitely has extra advantages that were not intended.

  • I like it but killers would need serious buffs. The game is balanced around survivors not knowing what others are doing which makes them waste time (2 people going for saves etc). SWF doesn't have this issue and now if solo's don't either then there will need to be something to slow them down or make killers better.

  • People who disagree with this keep saying that there may be some survivors who won't use VC and therefore get screwed. So it's better that the solo killer get screwed by SWF than for the 4 players on a team? At least they have the option to just use in game chat to bring back the balance. What can the killers do when against SWF who use comms which aren't balanced?

    SWF solution:
Hide addons/perks the killer until the trial is end.
Increase the repair time in proportion to the players on swf.
example: 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% if the killer playing against 4 players on premade must do 100%, (6 gens)

    1. They already plan on doing this soon hopefully by time next patch hits.

    2. No and they've already said it won't happen because holding M! (PC) is already boring enough as it is. What they're planning on doing is giving Bond as a base stat for solo Q or something similar to bring them up to SWF levels.

Once they do that all killers can be buffed to that level, except Nurse 😜and then it's an even playing field. They also want to add the 2ndary objective to make the gens go either parts or gas cans being collected.

I think that would be a good idea; adding another obj to make things take longer and give killers more time. In SWF, gens get popped too quick and having to collect something before repairing will make things less monotonous and increase repair time w/o having to just holding M1 longer.

I'm a month and a week in to this game and I've no idea if the Devs read or respond to our stuff, very occasionally do you even see a (as in a single) mod do so. Thus I'd say that they probably don't, but there is a chance they do. A chance.

They do read stuff on here but just because they don't respond to it people will say what you did which is they don't read it. It makes you feel better that you didn't get a response by typing that. But if you'd think logically you'd realize that with probably hundreds of threads a day across the entire forum they can't respond to each and every one of them.

If you look at the threads where they don't respond and someone says what you did they all have the same thing in common usually. They're threads that've been answered repeatedly including by the stickied ones at the top of the page.

Which is why I asked, to see if there's anyone who's even seen a response. Given that SWF is a long-time issue, you'd think they'd respond to a similar topic that someone here can confirm seeing a response to. If you think logically, there's no way one person can sift through all the threads but together, we've seen a lot and can share what the devs had said on the issue to save each other research time.

  • I feel like at this point, they might as well add voice and text chat to the game and rebalance the game based on communication. You can't balance a game where there's no comms or sometimes comms. One or the other will be balanced so you may as well unify the game modes into one and balance that.

Also, I'm failry new to the game (had it for 3 weeks) so I'm wondering, do the devs even read these forums or is it here just to make us feel better? I feel like SWF is the biggest issue and has not been addressed.

  • So you're against an option to filter out SWF but you're for marking them so killers can just leave if they want? Isn't that basically a non-streamlined filter?

Also you said "Swf cant communicate everything at all times and a lot of the time that is their weakness." In what way can that be a weakness? Solo's literally can't communicate anything so being able to communicate things like, "He's on me, do gens", "He's headed to Mike, John come unhook me" etc is a straight up advantage. I'm not buying the justification that killers should play against swf to get better. You can't have a game that's balanced with comms and without. It's balanced for one and not the other. Since SWF is a thing, they might as well open up comms and text chat for everyone and rebalance the game around that.

So to make killers (which in my experience win as much as lose during swf) happy and ruin the game for everyone else? If you play killer you know it's not always going to be easy. If you dont want swf groups then DC on menus no one says you have to play against them.

Ok, then give us the option to filter out SWF

Then swf would have no one to play against. How many people do you know would not filter that out? Even those who play swf dont like swf groups as killer. Just know what a swf group looks like and leave the lobby if you dont want to play them. It's really not that difficult. If you want the challenge then play the group. Why do you need to give them a handicap for something that's a part of the game. Survive with friends is a part of the game whether game chat is or not. If you feel you cant win then leave the lobby. No one is forcing you to play them.

You just countered you're own arguments; You agree that no one would play against them because no one finds it fun yet killers should do it anyway so you can have your fun? You say just leave the lobby "by learning what swf looks like" yet you're against something that shows you when they are swf because you don't want them leaving? You say it's a part of the game but where's the balance between swf and playing vs randoms. SWF has a huge advantage to the point where it's like 2 different game modes but with the same rules. They both can't be balanced. The game is either balanced for comms or not...

  • @milo77727 said:
Most of the time killers can tell when they go against a SwF group because of how they load in which is why those groups often have killers that leave the lobby. I can understand the perk thing however most of the time survivors can make guesses or know for sure anyway. It's a game based on teamwork why take away the teamwork?

At most mark SwF (even though 9/10 you can tell) and prevent perks from being shown in menu. No extra bloodpoints or anything that hinders the survivors. It no longer becomes a real game at that point.

The survivors ranks are added and divided between ranks. So you could have rank 2 or rank 17 as a rank 9 killer.

Teamwork is one thing but having voice comms is not the intended way of playing. Why else is there no text chat or voice chat built in? Sure they need to work together but how is it balanced when they can use comms to say when they're being chased (so others do gens) or what direction the killer is headed, tallying up the totems destroyed so they don't waste time looking for more of them etc. Voice chat gives the survivors way too much efficiency and it seems that the balance was based of off the survivors not knowing exactly what's going on with each other at any given moment. That's why you need certain perks to see auras of each other under certain conditions. Playing against SWF is not balanced.

  • Also, it's really unfair when a dead member of a SWF group can go and look at your perks. I was against a 3-man streamer group yesterday as killer and I watched the playback. They were telling each other where I was and where to find hatch for the last member alive and such, but also they checked my perks to see what I was rolling and giving that info to their team. Really unfair to go against. Perks should be hidden until post game and killers should get more BPs as mentioned to deal with this crap. Seems like the game was balanced w/o comms in mind then they throw in SWF and don't make balance changes or at least reward killers more?
