I would love for the franchise to widen their genres. Fighting games could be cool, but actually what I'd like is a narrative game like the Dark Pictures Anthology or TTG series.
Oh, the money I would pay to see TellTale Games make DBD prequel games!

It wont blow the Resident Evil chapters sales out of the water. Resident Evil is one of the hottest franchises alive these days. FNAF fans don't even come close to those numbers. I support more people coming to dead by daylight because of FNAF. You may be right about Silent Hill. Maybe even Stranger Things. But you are dead wrong about Resident Evil.
Care for a pointless wager? When Fnaf comes to DBD, whoever is right is the undisputed champion of the universe!

The devs have openly said that the only reason there even is a wiggle meter is to keep the killer from taking you to the basement every down regardless of where the killer is on the map

Yes, player base will most certainly drop, but the bean counters at Behaviour will definitely give the okay to make sure the chapter after will be a good license like Aliens, Chucky or dare I say FNAF (I hope not) to lure people back.
I'm on the opposite side of the coin where i hope for a FNAF chapter. The sales from a FNAF chapter would blow the sales of the silent hill chapter, resident evil chapter(s), and strangers things chapter out of the water

Its an add on from a bygone era where looping wasn't a thing and this game was all about hide and seek
-
It'll live. It'll just be in a rough state
-
I can't speak for others, But I play DBD because i love the slasher genre and being able to play as the legends of Horror. So I'm here for licensed content. Original chapters are great, but to me, they're here to tide me over until the next licensed chapter comes out.

I think the item in lockers should belong to the last killer you played who uses lockers to reload

So, if 2 survivors managed to get this perk to work, they become literally unkillable?
The nightmare scenario. Hacking without the need to actually hack. Imagine is all 4 survivors have MoM active and are all injured and need each other. *shudders*

The Downside of Adrenaline Vial is a joke compared to all those Buffs it gives. The Downside was significant when they first introduced it, making it his worst Add-On. But since its buff it is one of the best Add-Ons and not only good when paired with Alchemist RIng.
Fair enough. Make AV have 0% turning rate. Problem solved.
as for C33, make it use up all of the rush tokens to break a pallet.. It’ll still break a pallet faster then a normal pallet break, but at one hell of a cost
-

C33 and adrenaline vial are definitely not fine, arguably same w speed but that idk they are kinda on par w his other addons and should at the very least be higher rarity
AV already has one hell of a downside, and it’s only strong with AR. Get rid of AR and AV is fine as is.
as for C33, it just needs another downside. For example, make it take an extra 2-3 rush tokens to break a pallet.
-
I’ll admit that Alchemist Ring needs to be ejected into the sun, but the rest of his add ons are fine. I’m of the belief that there absolutely should be some really strong killers with high skill ceilings in this game

HnR is fine. Is it a style that can be annoying? Sure, but it has reasonable counterplay and survivors still can play a game out. I don't condone hard tunneling or camping at 5 gens because it basically leaves at least one survivor without anything to do for most of the game except hang on a hook. 3-gening at the start of the game is something I also don't condone as there is little counterplay (understand I'm looking at all of this via solo queue). HnR on the other hand can be defeated by solo queue with reasonable play.
There are many playstyles in the game that are "annoying" or "boring" for one side or the other, but that doesn't mean they aren't valid styles of play. I like chases, but if this game was nothing but chases, I would have lost interest a long time ago.
At this point, I have to ask, what killer playstyle isn't " annoying"? Because outside of loop simulator, survivors seem to hate every killer strategy
-
We're complaining about STBFL now? Are killers even allowed to have strong perks anymore?

They both need to be removed perm tier 3 and tom piece, Literally had 2 myers with this trash thing, its stupidly unfair, the first myers I had was on the game and I ran him for all 5 gens he pop the tier 3 but i jump in the locker so that he can hook me, ofc he does this really stupid annoying thing I hate of instead of just putting me on the hook after pulling me out of the locker, brings me to a far corner forcing me to wiggle off( i was not wiggling he kept on dropping me) then as soon as I try run gets mori, the second one is different but annoying ofc, =face camps = and ofc gonna not move from hook hoping to feed on other people to get another undeserved mori, which ofc they was smart enough to just leave, its really just stupid can we please get deliverance as base kit , being hooked 1 and then face camp all day cause some bad killers dont know how to play should not be the cause of survivors dipping to lame things like thisl.
The only way permanent tier three goes is if survivors slowly gain back stalk. It blows my mind that we have a killer in game who can actually run out of his power for the rest of the game
-
The only thing she needs is to lose her lullaby. It blows my mind that a stealth killer has a lullaby
-
I do think that the lullaby radius shows that Trickster and Sadako need to lose their lullabys. I don't understand the need for Trickster to have one. As for Sadoko, her having a lullaby, visual or audio, completely defeats the entire purpose of being a stealth killer. If they know you're in the area, stealth is no longer a thing

I personally find it to be extremely unfun to play vs, especially in an uncoordinated team. And I've hated it even during the gen-kick meta. But I've seen several praises for it so I thought I'd have a directed conversation about it.
Before the dead-hard nerf, anti-healing builds centered around this playstyle were tolerable because if I had good timing I could force a 2-healthstate chase anyways. I know how to play injured and can usually hold my own even without DH.
After the nerf though, on certain maps, it feels so tiresome having a 0.1s window to react to a silent bell wraith 1-tapping you from around the corner. And its gotten to the point where I usually just go next after they hook me.
The only counter and probably the reason why the strat isn't viable in a competitive setting is just to have all 4 survivors spread out and communicate when they see the killer. This obviously rarely ever happens in solo-queue. And its super frustrating to just watch a team bleed-out from everyone being too scared to touch gens.
I do think the strategy should be nerfed, but only after killers are given an alternative meta. Which at present there isn't one, so I'm very understanding.
Thoughts?
Honest question, is there any playstyle that survivors won't label as "unfun"? Because I've yet to see a playstyle that forum survivors don't hate outside of "loop simulator."

I suppose that is true, tunneling should really be addressed though because that counters like, everything.
Addressing tunneling will always be hard, because it can't be done in a way that survivors can manipulate to their own advantage. Because that happened every single time the Devs tried to address tunneling without perks

So I guess holding M1 on a gen forever wasn't enough to BHVR. Now hold M1 on a medkit heal for 24 seconds. Oh, dont forget about the overuse of Sloppy Butcher now. I agree that medkits needed a nerf, but this is a joke having to spend 24-30 seconds healing with a medkit. All the medkits in the past were OP, so keep them how they are now but make them 16 second self heals. Iron Will is trash and so is DH. A killer just tunnels and camps to prevent all Dead Hards. Healing is more necessary than ever now without DH. Stealth killers and Spirits are out in full force knowing that the easy hit on an injured survivor is guaranteed.
Alright, let's hear all the git gud nonsense rather than say something worthwhile.
To be fair, every time anyone in the community suggests secondary objectives for survivors so they have something to do besides hold on to a gen or heal, some of the louder survivor mains flip out at the idea

Am I really the only one who is PRAYING they dont add alien OR FNAF? I think both options are pretty terrible tbh😭
Not the only one but probably one of the few. Alien would be a huge boon to the game, and the people who want FNAF in this game far outweigh those who don't to an almost absurd degree
-
Personally, I hope the anniversary chapter isn't the grudge. After the previous two poor chapter releases, DBD desperately needs a huge license for the anniversary, and while the grudge wouldn't be a bad option for a DBD chapter, it just isn't big enough to warrant an anniversary chapter.

Using his tombstone makes him strong. Having to ability to instantly kill anyone without having to hook them once.
Two add ons make him overpowered, I agree. They're A 10 out of 10. But take those out of the equation (which will likely happen eventually) and he's quite garbage. Even if all his other add ons were buffed to be twice as powerful as they currently are, he's still be garbage
-
In what realm of the multiverse is Myers considered strong in DBD? Because that's the world I want to live in
-
It does not. That's the whole point of cages. They get around all perks related to hooking
-
I'd instead advocate for a chapter based on Ash vs Evil Dead, with Kelly and/or Pablo as the survivor, and Ruby or Baal as the killer, with a two legendary skins for Ash that give him his looks from Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness

Then they need to change the 16 charges to fully heal yourself ect ect. Sad though you have to use all your addons to justify one heal though, and a single medkit will not do nothing now. It's as worthless as the common tool box which also does absolutely nothing. They need to rethink how they are going to word things and fix appropriately before deploying a patch. 2nd redo the medit addons because honestly I dont see how it really helps now. Maybe you can break down each medkit and addon that work, or better yet just take out all the stupid medkits and leave one that heals fully 16 charges and use speed addons and forget the rest.
They do take only 16 charges to heal. it just has a 33 percent speed penalty when self healing. That was the whole point. Again, this was intentional. To weaken self healing
-
@LibidinousPsyche said:
Oh that's horrible, what's the sense then. They need to change the note that 16 charges does not fully heal like it still shows. I'll wait and play when and if they change it back. No sense in wasting your addons now and wasting med kits to get just 1 heal blah.. thanks and tc I'm done for now. Makers of a game always seems to break the game than do good. Wish I wouldn't have wasted 20 dollars 2 days ago on it now lol. Live and learn I suppose.
It was intentional. The goal was to nerf self healing while leaving altruistic healing untouched. They wanted to make damage states more impactful, and that can't be done when a single survivor can quickly negate a killer hit without help. You can still self heal, just not as much as you used to be able to. Quite frankly, this is much healthier for the game

I get there's the strategic camping you know a survivor is near by so you sorta stay near the hook your moving around ready to attack. Then there's camping just sitting there not moving all match. BHVR wanted to prevent slugging by making Unbreakable base-kit it flopped because of the finishing mori well try testing something that removes camping and not the good kind like I don't know if the killer stands still infront of a hook for more then a minute or something they I don't can't use their power or just something that forces the killer to move and actually do something that isn't standing there. Camping is boring as survivor because of the fact your not doing anything still useful since your wasting the killer's time at least but still boring and I seriously don't get why killers do it in the first place.
You're basically asking for an update where camping is 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt impossible, but that simply is never going to happen. The devs have said that camping is a viable strategy. And i'd even go as far as saying that its only a lower mid tier strategy since even slightly competent will either find a way to save their friend or slam 2 or 3 gens in the two minutes the killer just wasted camping.
Camping, as a strategy, is never going away. It's time survivors made peace with that

Dredge... doesn't have a lullaby? He's loud af, but it's not a lullaby.
While in nightfall, Dredge does have a lullaby, but not in the traditional sense. There are always ambient horror sounds during nightfall, but those same sounds are twice as loud when Dredge is within 32 meters of you. I'm not sure if this was intended or not
-
@Valaryyn said:
I would rather they just disable the visual heart for lullabies since Trickster is also problematic.
I don't mind the visual heartbeat with trickster too much, but the real reason it exists is because Huntress has a 40 meter lullaby radius, but only a 20 meter terror radius. Not being able to hear the huntress' lullaby radius would make her way too powerful
-
@Laluzi said:
Yeah, this just completely destroys whatever semblance of stealth she has. If the point of her lullaby was to be subtle, it sure isn't that anymore.

I think map of the Realm are even a greater need for the Knight, as you can miss a hunt for inches without it.
But i agree. I think that even with these addons basekit the Knight would not be overpowered, when compared to high tier killers, like the Plague/Wesker/Pyramid Head
I get where your coming from with map of the realm, I just prefer dried horsemeat. I value a longer guard chase more then a bigger search radius. Different strokes for different folks
-
I disagree with Call to Arms and Dried horsemeat not being "must have" add ons. I refuse to play Knight without using both at once. He feels awful without them
-
I'd make an argument for Freddy. He's a significantly weaker Clown. Sure, he has map pressure with his teleport, but its cooldown is so long without add ons, unless multiple survivors are sleeping, and even then, thats a hell of a cooldown. At least with clown, you can shut down every loop in the game

They were pretty normal sized neighborhood roads. I can understand a bit of creative liberty since it's the entity creating it from memories, and that could explain why the Myers house is way bigger but like... I think the super wide 2-lane road is a bit much.
Damn, people need to learn how to park
-
Maybe a better alternative is for a killer's teachable perks to have a slightly increased effect when used by the killer they came with
-
I'm sure its been suggested before but........map rotations?
