  • I'm not sure what will happen, but I'm kind of scared for dbd once it happens. I fear a lot that rely on it will quit, and a lot of people use it.

And if it's not that dramatic, I think overcome will 100% become the next exhaustion perk. But at that, if that gets viewed in the same way dead hard does, it'll just get nerfed and it'll be a repeating cycle. You really can't please everyone.

Its only a game, honestly I think you need to take a break.

But I can't!!! It's the Anniversary event, i'll miss out on so many good things :(

I also do enjoy the game a lot, it's not burnout... it's just very frustrating during this event and I think other people feel similar too.

Let's list our off meta and slightly off meta perks that we always use, and find work well for us.

    I'll start.

    Killer

Discordance. This is, in my opinion, the *best* info perk killers have, and if it wasn't for Spinechill, it would be the best info perk in the game. Far too many people neglect info perks that aren't BBQ, and this one is almost as good as LP early game and keeps right on giving all game.

Floods of Rage. Another great info perk, but you'll need to combo it with Agitation to make it reliable, and then you might as well throw in Pain Resonance too. It's not amazing on everyone, but on any roaming, snowbally killer like Oni or Plague, it's incredible.

Call of Brine. I'm using this more and more these days. It's good on it's own - a nice mix of info and regression, but combo it with Pop, Oppression or any other 'kicky' perk, and it's a force of nature.

Pentimento. This perk has straight up carried me at times, as a combo with Plaything. For some reason, survivors will cleanse the Plaything ASAP, but ignore the Penti, as it has an invisible effect that turns the game into a mire. Get two up and, if you can defend them, it's a nightmare. Works best on killers with sustained mobility, using Plaything as a platform (which sadly makes it weaker on Onryo and Wraith). I run it on Demo and Dredge almost every game now, and it melts faces. It's also nutso amazing on any 'objective' killer, like Cenobite and Pig, as between Plaything, Penti, SAW traps and The Box, you'll make people run all over the map. It's also decent on Nemesis.

Iron Maiden. Saw Otz running this on Trickster and it made me go 'huh, that's a brilliant idea'. Speeds up reloads (shaves off a lot of time over the course of a long match)...plus, plenty of survivors just love lockers, and will instinctively hop into one - and even if you only get one instadown in a match, this seems to make people panic.

    Survivor

Empathy. The aura reading is incredible, you'll always know where to go to heal someone - and more importantly, you'll generally know who is being chased and where, allowing you to be on the spot for a save or a sabo.

Windows of Opportunity. This often gets ignored as a 'noob' perk, but even now that I've got a good feel for survivor (sort of), it still saves my butt at least once a game. Knowing where certain things spawned, which pallets are still up and sometimes even where a chase is happening is a godsend.

Built to Last. Infinite medkit? Yes please.

Boon: Shadowstep. This perk should scare killers more. Well sited, it can cover most of the map and negates all aura reading, as well as scratch marks - countering a lot of perks and addons and confusing all but the most experienced killers in a chase.

Camaraderie/Kinship. Literally the only answer I've found to a camping Bubba.

As a Survivor I think Blood Pact is more of a personal favorite over Empathy just due to the fact that the other survivor injured can see you and you can see them where as Empathy you cannot and also with Empathy, they cannot be in direct contact of the killer. So in some cases you can avoid the killer if the survivor is slowly (unknowingly or accidentally) moving towards you, you can move away using Blood Pact, unlike Empathy.

Also you have to go to them with Empathy, as they can't see your aura which can be an annoyance.

Overall just think Blood Pact is Empathy but better.

  • You made a mistake returning if you left off frustrated already.

  • Oni is really strong in my eyes, as a Survivor main... He's very strong, I don't see him needing a buff at all.

  • FOV slider would absolutely break the game. Survivors (killers too obviously) had stretched res, which was essentially an FOV slider and that was fully cheating and killers thought it was unfair, and survivors alike. BHVR I think would never add an fov slider. If they did this, most likely survivors would think it's unfair but yet somehow I think killers would be fine with it... and some but very few killers would think it's not fine.

That's how it would go exactly... in my eyes.

The amount of times I am thankful the killer didn't see me, boy if that went away completely basically due to FOV I would be pretty upset.

  • If they gave an FOV slider that would absolutely make it really unfair and completely break the game. Not what you've said though, so if they just increased the FOV to a fair amount instead, it most likely still wouldn't help your situation.

Yeah, but they're still displayed as attributed to the character they came from for Stranger Things DLC owners. @MandyTalk could we get a clarification on this if possible? It'd be nice to know.

I would assume they would stay saying what they say and act like how they act unless reworked. If you own the DLC and it says they came from the DLC I would assume after this prestige rework it would still in-fact do the same thing? Just a guess. Unless they took the perks and changed it so it would not show that it came from those characters, I don't see why this would change because of a prestige rework and not a perk rework.

  • @M4dBoOmr said:

you even get 50+k BP on a fast lost match (if you don't get hooked in the first second and nobody unhooks you of course)

just stop caring if you do t get the maximum points, play the game and the BP will come no matter what

Yeah, for me it's usually like 20k on a fast lost match as for some reason I'm always first to be hunted and I usually suck (thanks matchmaking!!) but the inspiration is nice, thanks for that.

  • Dredge has recently become a killer that has finally stumped me. I know people hate playing against nurse, but for some reason I can dodge nurse like a literal god and have no issues ever facing nurse... naturally gifted with specifically nurse I guess.

DREDGE though... He is the first killer I have truly every felt giving up on. He has incredible control over basically every area of the map, and under a chase he has incredible ability to basically stop you from looping him.

He is such, such a hard killer for me to go against, whenever I see someone playing as dredge I just instantly give up and play the game like a thumb.

  • @Yatol said:

ive been cheesing the event by being bad as killer

Lol it sounds worse when you're a survivor cheesing it cause there's 3 other people relying on you, but I really just don't want to play a game that's going to be frustrating, and that has been a lot of them thanks to the event. Hook time for me it is.

  • @Triplehoo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3006542#Comment_3006542

Yeah, sorry. That last part was little unnecessary. I just get ticked off every time I see posts like yours. Just try to play like you usually do, and you'll get bloodpoints.

    Thank you.

  • I think gates should regress too, mainly because of the fact that if the gate isn't opened and they aren't just standing at the gate you or one of you could very well go down if you're running to said gate that isn't opened. So regardless it should go down to prevent people from 99% it. On top of that it could allow some extra bloodpoints to people who didn't have any progress on opening the gate.

That also wouldn't cause problems with people trying to farm it as 99% a gate usually gives you the maximum points for that task anyway. SO I really don't see why they couldn't just let it naturally go down some over time.

Like... either open the gate or don't bother. It can in certain situations actually get people killed.

  • @JohnWick1654 said:

wow, a nodding doctor getting a 4k during the event before the exit gates are opened,

wow what a great exciting game

What a fun event, makes me want to continue playing this game once I'm done with this ######### bullshit

not even ranking up Grades to Iredescent 1 on survivor wasn't as hard as finding invitation and having someone open exit gate and surviving before all of that..

Yuuup, lets have a drink of shared frustration. I wanna play, but couldn't be bothered to play at the same time because of this event and thinking of what might happen in games... lol.

Thank you for giving us all the shards before the sales end so we can get a character half off. I didn't think about that until I thought of the end date for the sale. I was wondering about it previously.

I never said they were. I'm saying that, from the perspective of a killer, you're going to get abused no matter what you do - so why shouldn't you just look after yourself?

I do, and that's why when I notice the game isn't going well I just dip out on the hook if the killer wants to tunnel me. If I notice the killers trying extremely hard on top of already probably being naturally good I just can't let myself get annoyed by it, so therefor I just stop trying at all.

  • @Triplehoo said:

I want bloodpoints, too. But I don't go expecting people to cater this. I just play like usual. So grow up.

Please read what I've said, and stop insulting me. I haven't said anything about catering to it. Just complaining.

  • All 12 masks already, and maybe like 2 escapes gang!!!!1! Edit: This event is brutal.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3006498#Comment_3006498

i think venting is fine but when you're venting and appear to be trying to make a global, all-encompassing point based off of one anecdotal match you're going to get a lot of flak

Yeah, I know. It was never meant to be like that at all.

  • @Mandy said:

Whilst wanting bloodpoints in itself is not selfish - expecting players not to play their own game and let you farm BP is selfish.

I agree, one of my other threads based on something like that was spawned due to a killer giving off mixed messages of if they were wanting to farm or not, standing still in front of pallets, but not close enough for you to actually stun them with it etc. I saw them let the last one escape and when I asked why they played the way they did all they responded with was "hehe"

Therefor spawning that thread of personal frustration as to why they'd do that but stand around like they were wanting to farm when they weren't... probably the most odd match I've had to date in DBD.

And to other people that see this and have seen both my threads, I was not meaning to come across as "Let ME have the points too!!!1!" it was more so just misunderstanding of what in the hell the killer was doing. I was not trying to look selfish, other people in that match could of earned an escape too had he wanted someone to escape is all I was thinking, or he could of let the match live on a little bit longer, just little things. Obviously not what happened, but it went the way it did and that's fine. It was never to have been taken the way it did.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3006493#Comment_3006493

so realistically you're just ranting about one match while trying to make a half-assed point about it and getting yourself and everyone riled up for no good reason

Everyone on this forum likes to rile themselves up for no good reason, It's not my fault they like to get so expressive with themselves and make themselves or myself look like a fool just from me wanting to vent/rant on a forum. It's up to them whether they post a comment.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

If you're gonna let one person escape you should of let everyone farmed some bloodpoints before you killed them at-least but nope... just rude as hell.

    but then in this thread

Did I not just say that I don't expect anything from the killer in the reply I had to you, but you still have the narrative that I have a problem with how the killer plays?

    you sound confused

I never said I expected them to let me live, that being insinuated. I said it was odd that the killer didn't when they were acting like they were farming but still ended up killing people. The killer as I had stated in a reply later in that thread was acting extremely odd. Acting like they were farming, but then weren't and it was sending mixed messages to me, and it was indeed confusing. But, I didn't have a problem with how he played, I just thought it was very odd.

  • I don't know how people are gen rushing when 90% of my matches have had the gens locked with the entity (forget which perk it's called)

with also that one perk that blows up gens when someone goes down or hooked (forget which, and what it's called)

Yeah idk, It's been really hard for all of my matches to even try to gen rush.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/328948/wanting-bloodpoints-is-not-entitled-selfish

As I said to you in that thread, it's more that killers get cussed out and told they are horrible people no matter what they do. I let half a group go yesterday, and got pooped on in postgame for doing it, because apparently it's insulting. The game after that I killed one person, and got cussed out for not letting them live.

If killers are going to get insulted for killing anyone, and for not killing anyone - why shouldn't they just kill everyone and maximize their own BP gains?

    Go ahead and tell me.

I never insult people, sorry you have to deal with that. I only asked him why he let one leave and they responded with "hehe"

not both sides are clean of annoying people.

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/328948/wanting-bloodpoints-is-not-entitled-selfish

Why do I need to use my flan NOW? I can use it later when I actually am low on bloodpoints and everybody in my match will still get the bonus at that point. I'm not being "selfish" just because I'm not listening to someone else complain that I didn't use my bloodpoint offering RIGHT NOW solely to help them out.

    I agree!

  • @Superyoshiegg said:

Just read your previous thread and this one.

Yeah... I'm going to go with a big 'E' for entitled.

Maybe when multiple people disagree with you, you could consider the possibility that it may be you who is in the wrong?

Then I guess that's your opinion, but I allow other people to do what they want with how they want and have no problem with it. If that's viewed as entitled to I guess it is.

But also, disagreeing doesn't mean your wrong. It means there's a clash of opinion and one could view an opinion as right and the other as wrong. It depends on the person. Everything has a validating reason.

  • @FeelsBadMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3006427#Comment_3006427

And I told you what YOU could do to change it - go play killer but you just say "I don't want to play killer myself BUT I want the killer in my games to suffer through boring matches so I can have more fun/bloodpoints"

Just accept the fact killers are allowed to play the way THEY want. If that hurts your feelings too much, maybe it's time to log off and do something else.

Did I not just say that I don't expect anything from the killer in the reply I had to you, but you still have the narrative that I have a problem with how the killer plays?

If someone doesn't want to play killer then someone doesn't want to play killer. I never said either that I want to play farming matches only and watch killers suffer. Can you literally stop implying stuff I never said? It's uncalled for, and it's rude on top of the insults you threw at me.

  • @Crowman said:

Wanting bloodpoints is fine. It becomes entitlement when you start demanding other players play in a way you want them to.

It's not like you rally need to farm to get bloodpoints. I've been seeing all flan offerings so far and even a bad game still turns out good due to the 530% extra bp.

Exactly, I agree with this. I don't really see people demanding it like that though. I see if someone doesn't want to use it then sure, but they should know afterward they won't be personally seeing as big of a benefit had they just used it when everyone else was using it. But, if they're fine with it then I guess let them do what they wanna do.

  • @FeelsBadMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3006406#Comment_3006406

Then don't complain if the killer does what his name implies - kill people. He doesn't owe you anything! You are really just an entitled brat, probably that kind of child that's gonna throw a tantrum at his parents for not gifting him the "correct" thing for christmas. Grow up.

Calling a grown adult an entitled brat is not what you should be saying to someone. I don't expect anything from a killer and never said that and if you think i'm implying that you're wrong. Stop arguing with me and the narrative you think I have, because it's not there. I expect killers to kill. I don't play this game expecting rainbows and unicorns and everyone lives and we all get slurpees. I get to vent, and express how I am feeling and you get to do the same, there is no reason to insult someone to tell them to grow up, and call them a brat. Thank you.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

I play nice during events and dont care, why? Because having my killer roster at p3 is worth more than some pips. Them 175k matches are really nice, you think I care if you escape if I get 175k BP?

    Agree 100%

  • @tippy2k2 said:

It can be frustrating but the entitled part is that you have determined that other people need to play the way you want them to play because you want something. Doesn't matter what they want, it's what YOU want that is important here.

Not really what I'm wanting, but if we could come together to allow us ALL to get as many bloodpoints as we could ; regardless of how the game is going to pan out. It's based on that one opinion that it's a waste, when really it's not. You get sooo many flan during this event, that afterwards your going to be the only one with a flan unless you do SWF and it'll be a slow progress afterwards to earn all the BP from the flan you saved in-stead of using it during the event.

  • @FeelsBadMan said:

Bro as I told you in your other thread already. If you like farming killers so much how about you go and play killer yourself and farm? It's gonna be a win-win situation until you realize how utterly boring farming is as killer.

Because some people, like me absolutely hate playing killer? I was that kid that cried about being the seeker in hide and seek because I hated it so much. I had over like 800 hours or something in Friday the 13th as survivor and when I got Jason I literally closed my game. Why in the world would I play something I hate?

  • @Raptorrotas said:

So killers are still "scummy" if they let someone go now? I though that was goodboy behavior?

Waah you died and werent the last one.

Maybe tryhard and be the last one next time; Or better yet, try to escape instead of aiming for the hatch.

I agree, but trying hard when your not good could also just make you look like an idiot. Me, being that idiot that does try their best... it's just a frustrating matter to me and it's upsetting which is why I made the post in the first place.

  • @Tostapane said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/328945/if-your-gonna-let-the-last-survivor-live-farm-bloodpoints-with-everyone

You know, it's for people like you that I stopped to give the hatch to someone and kill everyone without thinking twice... People doesn't appreciate kindness, so what's the point of being kind if people didn't appreciate it and/or even bash you for this?

The only person that should appreciate the moment of kindness should be the person you let escape, you expect someone you killed to watch you let them escape and be like "Awww they're so sweet!!!" "Omg they let them out what an amazing person, they deserve everything and more!!!" ????????

  • @jesterkind said:

Letting the last survivor live is more of a spur-of-the-moment decision for me.

Also, no? Farming bloodpoints is boring as hell and not even slightly comparable to letting one guy live?

Just to add onto it, the killer was acting like they were wanting to farm but proceeded to kill everyone in moments where I thought he was farming he wasn't and just killed anyway. It was a complete oddity of a killer to me.

  • @TAG said:

What if they want to actually still win while also letting the last Survivor go?

Then they could still win, letting one go is just frustrating to me as they didn't give they just plopped everyone in basement but one, and camped it.

  • They didn't even give them hatch, they closed it, and let them open the door.

If they're going to kill everyone, but one on the anniversary, where everyones wanting to get bloodpoints, letting just one person live is frustrating for the rest of us to see.

I'm also getting more frustrated with people saying it's entitled to want bloodpoints. Everyone wants bloodpoints, and saying we want bloodpoints isn't entitled! It's a commonly shared want that every wants, especially for the anniversary! It's not entitled or selfish, it's a frustrating game that I wanted to vent about.

    @FeelsBadMan said:

    LOL

Entitled much? It's the killers decision to give hatch or not. Most people simply don't want to farm cause it's boring as killer.

  • Lots of things they're changing here, hopefully they don't ruin their game by doing this.

  • I think they might lower the numbers some, I think they may have overshot a little bit... to the point that it could possibly not be finished completely which obviously they don't want to happen.

  • Whenever this happens, I usually just kill myself on hook. I'm sure it annoys other survivors, but I've been killing myself a lot on hook ESPECIALLY if I can tell the killers going to be an absolute nightmare of a tryhard.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002244#Comment_3002244

You can say “period” all you want, it doesn’t make your argument have any weight.

The devs have already implemented time-specific things. If they wanted a freaking bloodpoint offering included in this, they’d do it.

Your temper tantrum that others won’t stack with you thankfully doesn’t dictate game mechanics.

You literally said period first and I used it jokingly back at you but if this is suddenly the arguement that lives in your head now then I guess you can have it.

  • @Annso_x said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002208#Comment_3002208

Honestly i'd suggest you play killer, the event is cool and most survivors don't hoard their flans (+if you're nice to them they'll be extra nice to you bc the event is a pain for them haha). Maybe you'll get less stacks of flans as killer but you'll still get more BPs than you would playing survivor and getting facecamped, also you get the rewards much more easily.

You know I would but I absolutely hate being killer, I was that kid that hated being the seeker during hide and seek and would literally cry about it so, I really really really hate being killer.

  • @scenekiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002193#Comment_3002193

No. You’re just mad that some people aren’t benefiting you by using theirs, and your argument has no basis.

I’ll use them when I want to, period. It’s not for you to decide what the “point” is.

It's a universal benefit, not a personal offering. It is meant to be used for everyone not just for yourself. Period.

  • I will say, I love events like this because of the balloons and special effects like the lights on lockers.

When you grab an invitation and look extra sparkly and cool. That's pretty nice too.

The bloodpoints, special login rewards... all around this anniversary is pretty rewarding. If we compared it to a gacha game in rewards though, not even close.

  • @SkeletalElite said:

Even if you're using them every match you get them faster than you can use them, there is literally no reason to expire them, any character you are playing a lot will have excess wasted points otherwise.

It would be very easy to just allow the expiration date to be a couple weeks after the event ends to avoid this type of problem.

  • Seeing as many sweats during the event makes me want to not play, but yet again it's the anniversary so I feel like i'm forcing myself to play a game that already irritates me because of the potential benefits. Then you have the other side when you settle with that, that refuse to use their flan/cakes. Ugh.

  • @DH3206 said:

    What a stupid idea.

One word comes in mind when I read your reply: Entitlement.

And what, you keep the cake for keeps sake when you have the masks, flashlight toolboxes etc. to keep for keepsake? The cakes for points is for everyone not just yourself, it isn't a personal offering. I wouldn't be the entitled one here now would I?

  • @scenekiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002147#Comment_3002147

So be annoyed for a few seconds and then move on? Your annoyance doesn’t justify retiring them completely.

I’ll use them when I want to, not when others want me to.

There's no point in not using them, unless you have a plan to use them instead of stacking. There should be a deadline for things to be expired so they get used regardless of what a player thinks. I think the difference between a benefit, and an event item like a flashlight or toolbox etc. Is much different. An offering to be used for bloodpoints for an anniversary/event should be required to be used within the event and expire afterwards because otherwise it's most likely not going to be used because you want it for keeps sake and that's the truth. You have other items to keep as keep sake from this anniversary. I want them to expire.

  • This can be said both ways.

Killers can also chill out during this event too lol.

    It's just a full chaos.

  • I agree. It's an annoyance to see people brag about not using them.
