No, you said either adding an accessibility option or not facing them, and I'm addressing them both, saying that your idea for accessibility is fine and your idea for completely avoiding a killer in matchmaking is not. I don't see where the problem with my post is.
Alright, but you acted as if my main arguement was "We need options to not qeue against certain killers!" and from my perspective you completely ignored that I said that it would be better to just add accessibility options… and I argued that not queing against certian killers was a BAD idea, It was not a "We need either accessibility, or not queing" it was "We need accessibility" do not put words in my mouth.

i remember when i was relatively new and was terrified of playing killer.
but i was very actively watching lots of videos about the role which made me more knowledgeable on how to play it properly.
and then i just stuck it up and played matches and realized it's not that hard plus with time i felt like chasing was the most fun thing so i stopped caring about results like kills and went into the games with mentality of just chasing and that made the role a lot more fun and less stressful ( i still got lots of 4ks but i also was letting lots of survivors go with everyone 2 hooked cuz i had my fun)
I'm relatively experienced with killer, so it's not that I'm new.

Yes, I used AI to help structure this post. I have trouble organizing my thoughts into coherent writing, so I used it as an assistive tool to present my research and analysis clearly. The data, conclusions, and gameplay insights are all mine based on my experience - AI just helped with organization and formatting since that's a field I struggle in. Feel free to downvote me instead of actually engaging with the problem because 'AI Bad!'

Either way, it's not really wrong. Hex totem placements are absolutely atrocious and they need to be revamped. If the devs are very concerned with taking excessive RNG out of the game, they have to address this. Tweaking numbers and percentages doesn't change this.
Devour Hope and NOED also continue to be problematic. If devour isn't luckily found early in the match, then it gets the killer more free downs and easily wins them the game.
It's really the same thing for NOED. What seemed to be a somewhat easy game suddenly turns into a struggle at end game. The anti-camp meter no longer works, and if that one survivor is "unskilled" enough to have been instadowned right next to the totem, they are SOL because the killer can simply camp both. Unless the survivors find and cleanse that totem, no one can get the save. The whole team also needs to be reset and have a gate already opened, or that one survivor on the hook (or someone else) is still guaranteed to not escape. In closer games where one or two survivors have already died and the others may be injured, it pretty much guarantees the three kills.
Yeah, and I hate when I bring a Hex Perk and it's immediately gone a minute into the match…

Only 15-20% of meta killer builds include hex perksGiven only 12.7% of killer perks are hex perks, that's pretty good.
Cross-platform analysis revealsBut there's no 'analysis'. We get lots of 'sciency' terms scattered throughout as if the post was a doctoral study. Some people have an opinion is not an analysis.
The Kill Switch system has been used for crisis management, but hasn't addressed structural hex perk issues. This is one of those AI sounding things. The Kill Switch, very obviously, has nothing to do with hexes. But its the type of thing an AI writing assistant throws in because its trying to fill its word count.
I'm just saying that Hex Perks suck ass right now.

There's so much expectation for the killer. You're basically the star of the show. For me, something I hate about playing killer is after-game messages from survivors. One of the reasons I've avoided getting my killers too high in prestige is so people can't be like "how did you do so bad as a p-whatever." I've gotten that a few times as survivor even (from other survivors) but no where near as much. The endless taunting, even mid-chase, for no reason at all, also turns me off. The way people act makes me not even want to play killer.
I have some friends who all play different games but are in a voice chat together. I imagine that probably helps. You're pretty much just bsing like you're on a phone call. If you don't have anyone to link up with, you could probably meet some here. Kinda surprised I don't see more of that.
Being on call with my friends does help… but I'm looking for a solution for when they aren't available..

Hex totems are just hard to balance so they're fair for both sides. Killers are already getting value for doing nothing. Should they be getting even more value while making it harder to find totems? And I don't wanna coddle survivors, but certain hexes like Devour Hope and NOED are so oppressive that totems kinda need to be easy to find.
The purpose of the killer is to be powerful

From the second I heard about the existance of Fog Vials, everybody I knew said it was a bad Idea to have them be inifnite, I think them having charges is a good idea… because every item in the game has a limited time of use… and the perks needed to be kill switched.

To be fair, friend, they are probably not going to do P100 skins because of licenses. Nightmare on Elm Street, in particular, is one that would probably not accept such cosmetics to their characters.
The badge isn't the greatest reward, I agree, but at least every character can get it.
yeah... P100 skins would be unlikely for licensed killers... but if they had it just on original killers, it wouldn't be ideal but still... portraits are neat too i guess

@IrisLP said:
But they've already spoken out about it... And honestly, given all the time I've invested in my P100s, I just don't think it's right for them to give me a badge. I'd rather get a skin (maybe a #Team100 shirt or a "you need to take a shower" shirt 😂) or a charm for the killers, or an iconic weapon, because the truth is, I've invested way too much time in the game for them to give me a badge that no one is going to care about. In fact, I'm not interested in badges at all; I never look at them at the end of the match. I don't care what my teammates have. I only look at the perks to TRY to make sure they didn't cheat, and the prestige. And the badges I'm using are some of the first ones they release and I've never changed them again.
Many will say that an icon skin wouldn't be right because that will get you tunneled or bullied as a killer. Please... I'm already tunneled and bullied as a killer without having anything distinctive, a new one is not going to change anything.https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FSWP7ZZG2166/imagen.png

Although for accessibility reasons I agree, but it's better to solve those at the root. Why not add settings that change Plagues visual and sound effects to like lava, or something? That could work, doesn't matter if it's a little silly if it makes them playable against for someone who struggles with nausea against her or something. As for Clown, do you still have issues? Doing better in a match and being a better player overall are two different things.
Yes, it's possible that you can have good or bad matches. Sometimes you're just in a better or worse headspace, for the it's a game that you're in, but if you beat someone that means at least in that scenario, you were better than them.
-
@cogsturning said:
OP is arguing that killer has shifted to the weaker role. I'm stating otherwise. It varies match by match because of skill disparity, but overall, killer has way, way more power. I can still beat teams that are better than me as killer, and my team can still get wiped out by lower skill killers.
if you are beating them then they arent better than you? Maybe its a close match... but if you win youre better?

Every day I have matches that look like this. This is why they're giving survivors things. Asking certain killer-players to be sportsmanlike and actually engage instead of immediately slugging to inflate their hollow stats that no one cares about anyway isn't really working.
And yeah, laughing and having fun is my goal too, which my build here reflects. But that fog vial they gifted us didn't do me much good in a game that lasted one minute anyway, did it? If, as you say, killer should feel powerful and survivor should feel weak, that's certainly how it played out for me here.
isnt the point of the game that the killer is powerful? Survivors shouldn't be stronger than the killer, they are supposed to need to work as a team to succeed.

She has a terrible design that gives survivors full control over her abillity. In most matches she stomps everyone because most people don’t use her counterplay, but when survivors are actually smart and do the counterplay there is nothing she can do.
The Counterplay is grabbing the tapes and putting them into the TV's right? Because I think in my first match against a Sadako I just did that for no reason because I was bored… Wait… by taking the Tapes out of the TV doesn't that mean that the surivivors just… choose where Sadako can teleport to?

Xenomorph / Dracula / Rize.
Xenomorph because ive been a huge fan of Aliens and Predator since like 1994. I got used to how he works and im pretty decent, but he is certainly one of the hardest to play due to swfs having bigger advantages against xeno than most killers - multiturret safezones they can all run to at the slightest sign of danger lol.
Dracula because im also a big fan of castlevania, my favorite characters being Shanoa and Simon Belmont (sad they didnt make it in the game as characters instead of clothes). Played through allllll the castlevanias and hes the final boss in atleast 20 of the games. Only time you ever got to play as him was a botched reboot the rewrit the story and killed the series, and a wii exclusive fighting game, so people able to play him in dbd was huge. His adaptability is quite usefull and feels easier to use against swfs compared to xeno, but he is a jack of all trades master of none, so he has to rely on all 3 forms all game.
Rize im still hesitant to play due to all the hate for ghoul, but she was my favorite character in the anime years before they came to dbd. So far shes just the "easy win" option if ur having a bad day.
Other than licenses id say Skull Merchant. Mostly cuz shes hot, but ive gotten used to using her on/off stealth much like chucky, but with antiloop that you barely have to think about lol
Nice, I used to Main Singularity, but I haven't played him in forever, I dunno who I main now, because I like a bunch of killers, like Xeno, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, and Vecna… I might go back to Singularity soon.

This is a great Idea, remaking the code would help make it easier to fix things in the Future, and the devs need to actually LISTEN to their community, and hopefully if they redo the code and stuff, they'll make the game more optimized and easier to run on lower end systems.
-
Yeah… it's rough, but the thing is, if they dared actually buff Killer, then they would break the power fantasy of all the survivor mains and they would whine and complain. Also you said
"They always nerf or killswitch killers and almost never do that with survivors"
Nerfing is certainly a problem, but Kill Switching a Survivor doens't happen often because different survivors are just different models, The only Difference between Dwight and Leon is their model and sounds, but killers each have unique abilities, so if a Killers ability is broken, then they have to be Kill Switched. But they just ignore problems like the inifnate charges with the Streetwise bug, and they could just Kill Switch that.

I did read it, I am just acknowledging that its a bad idea. I'm agreeing with you.
Alright, my bad is I came off as rude. I've just dealt with a LOT of people who seem to not read my posts and just comment, there should definatly be something to help with the Nasuea of clowns purple bottles, because it's not fun as a survivor when I am trying to not vomit, and it's probably now fun for killers when the survivors are playing that well because they are struggling with severe nasuea, and (While I don't have this problem) I know that some people have problems with Plauges vomit sounds, and just plauge being gross in general, so DBD really needs more accessibility options.

Such a feature would absolutely wreck match making as up to 4 Killers would be be banned from every Survivor Queue, or
Survivors would be unable to be assigned to a Killer Queue. You may personally accept longer match-making but I assure you there are others that don't, even so Survivors would just use it to get out of facing any Killer they just don't like.Better idea would be an accessibility setting that changes the Clown's Power to Bubbles and the effect to a general color opacity effect overlay.
I said that having an option to not play against certain killers would be a bad idea… did you read my post? I think there should be some setting to help with things like this though, because I cannot play against clown because the Nausea I get from his purple bottles is nearly rehabilitating, I do not wish for players to choose what killers they play against, that's a bad idea, I just want to be able to avoid nearly vomiting because my killer decided to play clown today.

You're missing the core issue - it's not about raw chest numbers, it's about tracking relevant survivor activity. Against other killers, Human Greed tracks the chests survivors actually use. Against Vecna, it tracks chests survivors largely ignore in favor of magical chests (which contain the anti-Vecna items they need).
Many treasure chest spawn points are well within an 8 meter radius of a generator. It would be disingenuous to pretend turning aura tracking on for all of them would just be about seeing who's going for a treasure chest.
Also, chests don't re-close themselves - you have to manually kick them to close them with Human Greed.
Vecna's treasure chests do automatically re-close themselves is what I was saying - it's how they can be opened and looted multiple times.
You can have 13 Chests in one Trial with the right setup
You can get 13 chests if you run hoarder and every survivor brings a rare coin, something that will happen so infrequently that I think it's safe to say the perk was never balanced with that situation in mind. I'm certain I've never once seen a setup that would produce this number of chests and I'm mostly certain I've never seen a setup actually used that would produce an extra 6 chests.
- I have seen regular chests spawn close to Gens before
2. just because it's very unlikely doesn't mean it doesn't matter, it proves the game CAN handle high amounts of chests
3. You keep ignoring my whole point of "Let's test it in a PTB" if we do that, we can see if it's a good decision, or if it completely ruins the game, It's better to actually test it rather than just go "this is a horrible Idea and should never be considered" I might be stupid here, and changing the perk like this would RUIN the games balance, but it could also be good, we can argue about hypotheticals all day, or we could just have it be tested in the PTB and see what happens.
- I have seen regular chests spawn close to Gens before

I was responding to where you said the following:
… having Human Greed not work on his chests makes the perk practically useless on him.
My point in my response is that can't be true unless you think the perk is equally useless on every other killer since the perk scales with number of chests. It currently gives the same amount of information in a match with Vecna as it would in a match with Dredge, Bubba, or any other killer. To request it work on Vecna's special chests is to request it give MORE information in a Vecna match than it would with any other killer.
They didn't design or balance the perk to work with an additional 6 points of aura generation across every map or with the concept of chests that re-close themselves over time.
Also, chests don't re-close themselves - you have to manually kick them to close them with Human Greed.
And another thing, You can have 13 Chests in one Trial with the right setup, Albeit Rare, but with that Setup on Vecna, you won't get 13 Regular chests, as 6 will be replaced by Treasure Chests.
And AGAIN this could be tested in a PTB -

Sure survivors can pull normal items from vecna chests but they also pull items that help counter your power and can even deal damage due to mimic. They really aren't just "normal chats" like you are trying to make them seem.
And bhvr does not want perks to work on killer powers and this goes both ways.
I think you're misunderstanding my argument. I never said Vecna's chests are identical to normal chests - I said they function mechanically like chests (same interaction method) and contain regular items alongside the magical ones.
The fact that they also contain anti-Vecna items and mimics doesn't change that survivors interact with them exactly like regular chests and can receive normal flashlights, toolboxes, etc. from them. Having additional features doesn't negate that they're fundamentally chest-like objects that contain regular items.
And Survivors never interact with Normal Chests when playing against Vecna.
Again, this is exactly why we should test it in the PTB - to see if these concerns actually create problems in practice rather than debating theoretical scenarios.

How is it useless on him but not other killers that don’t spawn bonus chests? The ask here sounds like you want Vecna to get more value from this perk compared to other killers, not the equal levels he currently gets.
I think there might be a misunderstanding about what I'm asking for, and it feels like you're questioning my motives rather than engaging with the actual issue. I'm not looking for Vecna to get more value than other killers - I want Human Greed to work equally well across all killers.
Currently, when I play as other killers, Human Greed tracks the chests survivors actually use for items. When I play as Vecna, it only tracks regular chests that survivors mostly ignore in favor of my magical chests (which contain the anti-Vecna items they need). So the perk provides significantly less useful information when playing Vecna. And when I play as I survivor against Vecna, I always ignore the Normal chests.
I'm asking for consistency so the perk gives equally valuable information regardless of which killer I'm playing, not asking for special advantages.

I understand what you're asking for. It would hardly be fair to other killers if Vecna got this and they didn't though. It would open the door to an issue that would be best avoided imo.
I think there might be a slippery slope concern here - the idea that making this change would inevitably lead to problems with other killers. But other killers don't actually have chest-equivalent interactables, so there wouldn't be similar requests.
You're right that vaccine cases are chest-like, but they only contain infection cures, not regular items like flashlights or toolboxes. Vecna's chests are unique in that they function as regular chests with bonus content, not specialized single-purpose containers.
That said, instead of debating hypothetical scenarios, why don't we just test it in the PTB? If it creates unfair advantages or opens the door to issues, they can revert it. If it works fine, then we've solved a consistency problem. Seems like the most practical way forward.

Chests are very much part of his power, as they contain items Survivors can use to counter his own spells.
Perks do not work with killer props or powers, period. Any exception that works different for this killer than it does for that killer will only add to the pool of potential things that can break or cause unwanted interactions.I think there's an important distinction here - Vecna's magical chests aren't purely 'killer props' like vaccine cases or Jigsaw boxes. They function almost exactly like regular chests and contain regular items (flashlights, toolboxes, medkits, etc.) alongside the magical items.
A survivor can open a Vecna chest and get a completely normal flashlight, just like any other chest. They're essentially regular chests with an expanded loot pool, not killer-specific interactables. Human Greed should recognize them as chests because mechanically, that's exactly what they are.
The issue isn't asking for special killer interactions - it's asking for consistency in how chest-detection works when the items function identically to regular chests from the survivor's perspective.

I'm not talking about them camping the chest. I'm talking about them interrupting you getting a vaccine and in Weskers case running you to ground because you can't remove the infection.
When Wesker is chasing one person stopping them from getting a First Aid Spray, the other people could just go to another chest on the other side of the map, he can't be everywhere at once. I also NEVER said I want this to be on killers like Nemesis and Wesker, you brought that up, I just wanted it on Vecna.
I think there might be some confusion here - I'm specifically asking for Human Greed to work on Vecna's magical chests, not requesting changes to how it interacts with other killers' mechanics. The Nemesis/Wesker scenarios you're describing aren't really relevant to what I'm suggesting, since I never proposed extending this to their interactables.
