  • Because they are UwU hotties who make me OwO especially that OwU Bubba and uWu Clown.

  • The thing I don't understand about this post is that when you first got unhooked and the Spirit downed you again, that would have been a perfect moment for current DS to work. So this example doesn't really do anything for your argument, maybe you have better clips then this one to show the problem with current DS?

One of the weirdest matches I've ever had

  • Why do people have a problem with smaller maps? I feel like that as long as they give survivors enough stuff to work with, smaller maps are for the best to create more survivor and killer interaction. The biggest problem with generator speeds isn’t that they go too fast it’s that most maps are too big for the killer to pressure generators consistently. Making maps smaller will actually help with the gen speed. I havent really noticed a decrease in the number of potential loops on the maps so I am not sure what the op is talking about with that but I’ve seen this situation before. Back when there were twice as many pallets on every map and they removed them, people went crazy and thought that this would make survivor too weak. Cut to modern day and survivors learned to work with the pallets and windows they have with great effect. This is still like only day 2 PTB by the time I’m writing this and there’s so many changes to the maps. I would wait a bit before jumping to any “Killer sided game” accusations.

  • Do you know what’s else rewards players for making a bad play? Dead hard, a killer could outplay you and then with just the press of a button you can undo the outplay and keep the chase going for longer. NOED is the only second chance perk killers have so I don’t really see it as the biggest deal when it’s a perk that can get taken away during the match by cleansing all the dull totems or just keep track of totem locations so you can find the NOED at the end game.

  • Saying he’s weaker then huntress is subjective. Huntress gives so many indicators like her humming and grunting that gives survivors the info they need to counter play her. Deathslinger has no such counterplay except for finding a loop with a safe enough pallet that he can’t shoot and reel you at. Are people really forgetting he has instant ADS and just by simply walking towards survivors you are causing them to take weird pathing because they are expecting you to shoot? Against a “SWF bully squad” this guy has a way better chance then huntress imo since huntress has so much counterplay that good survivors can take advantage of.

Saying he is weak just because he is a 1v1 killer isn't a downside if his 1v1 is strong. Clown imo is the weakest killer in the game because his power only works for a chase but it’s a chase power that doesn’t even end chases quickly. Deathslinger’s 1v1 is just as strong as spirit with how little counterplay the survivors have in a chase. Also you say that as a 1v1 killer you need to end chases in like 20 seconds... ya he does! With his small terror radius you can sneak up a m1 hit and then just go for the shot when you get line of sight on the survivor. If spirit is considered top tier because of her 1v1 then how come this guy isn’t the same?

the only way I could see this guy justifiably being 115 speed is if they nerf his power. If they made him trapper speed without a single change to his power... yikes. I think as he I saw now he is already a top tier killer but the reason for why people consider him weak is because of bad map design. The bad map design I am referring to are the larger maps like Red forest maps, Thompson house, ormond, etc. These are maps that make it hard to pressure as any killer so I don’t think it necessarily is a problem that only effects slinger. You put this killer on an actual balanced map like coal tower, Chapel, dead dawg, you can see just how insane he can be when placed on maps where’s the survivors are forced to interact with the killer more often.

  • Demogorgon is definitely universally liked

  • Ok I was looking at the patch notes but didn’t look at the developer update. Thank you

  • I’ve looked through the chains of hate patch notes and I couldn’t find anything stating that breakdown causes the broken hook to last longer. If anyone has proof that breakdown was buffed in this way I would like to see it.

  • I’d say Deathslinger is more comparable to spirit then huntress. Both spirit and Deathslinger have powers that are ridiculously strong in a chase and can end one in seconds, but because of their strong chase power they are weaker when it comes to pressuring multiple survivors. I can understand why people think he is weak. We are currently in the gen rush meta of the game and many people are prioritizing killers who can pressure gens like Hillbilly and Freddy while also running gen slowdown perks like pop, ruin, etc. So when this killer comes out and people see that he has no map pressure, people are quick to say “make him 115 speed” while completely ignoring how strong he is in a chase. I’d say once maps get smaller and/or if the devs find a way to fix gen speeds, people will finally see how insane this killer is.

  • People give NOED less of a hard time because it's like the only real second chance perk that a killer has in comparison to the survivor side that has DS, unbreakable, dead hard, etc. NOED and all the perks I just listed are really strong and requires no effort from the person using the perks. I don't get mad at a killer who uses NOED because how am I better? Im over here running dead hard which makes up for any bad play I could do during a loop and extend the chase for even longer then it should have been. Maybe when some of these other second chance perks get looked into I would see NOED as a problem but as it is, its fine.

  • People play Claudette? That’s weird, I never SEE them in my games.

  • If they did nerf him I would be fine with some kind of cool down on his chainsaw. The fact that he can sprint across the entire map in seconds, find a survivor and immediately proceed to go for a one shot is pretty insane. Not to say he is overpowered but instead to say that he outclasses many other killers with his ability. Freddy has a cool down on his teleport, demo needs to place the portals first. Both these killers have a down side to their ability to get across the map while billy can do it whenever he wants. Michael needs to stalk to tier 3, Oni needs to suck up blood, ghost face needs to mark you, these killers require something for the player to achieve in order to get their one shot while hillbilly has is one shot on him no matter what.

A cool down is really all the nerf he would need, making him 110 speed would probably make him one of the weakest killers in the game so they probably won’t do that. I’ve seen the idea of having to refill on gas for his chainsaw which isn’t that bad of an idea. I’m open to the idea of a change to Billy but that doesn’t mean I want to see him get absolutely destroyed.

  • I’ve seen stuff like actual infinites and pallet vacuums. I stopped using ruin 7 months before it go at nerfed, so currently I’m doing fine with killer.

I've noticed if you play as killer and automatically get 4 survivors in the lobby with you. There is a really good chance they're grouped together.

If you notice they're all the good characters in the game don't play wit.

No, with dedicated servers you will most likely enter a lobby with 4 survivors already there and they could all be solos or SWFs

  • The spirit

  • After playing the PTB and trying out the new sabo as it was there (could change for live we will see.) New sabo still feels like chore. Trying to go for sabo saves without a coordinated team of other people with sabo builds is going to be rough because since hooks seem to spawn regularly close to each other, the killer could just hook them somewhere else. Also the charges for toolboxes depleted really fast so you can’t go for too many sabo’s.

Now I know the idea of “Okay but if a SWF does a sabo squad it would be strong” yes it’s true it could be but that is already the case currently with sabo squads, this change isn’t going to make those squads anymore powerful. Sure with this change they no longer need to go around 99ing every hook but in order to go for the sabo saves, those survivors would still need to follow around the person the killer is chasing, wait for them to go down and then go in for the sabo. This could mean at least 3 survivors not doing gens which is good. If you do have no more hooks around you, just wait 30 seconds so either go for the people who just sabotaged in your face or wait the small time of 30 seconds for the hook to respawn . It wouldn’t be wasting your time since you know that at the moment only 1 survivor could be doing a gen.

It’s a very easy fix, like you say for everyone that is SWF those players get 5% per person action penalty or whatever percentage works.

Now, here is where the players come saying they shouldn’t be penalized for playing with friends... which is weird because those same players say SWF isn’t about winning, it’s about playing with their friends.

    @seffard said:

Dont say it's impossible to nerf it just because you have no idea how. I usually know in the lobby when it's swf just by looking at profiles and if many are private I dodge too because I know the match wont be fun likely. My suggestion to nerf swf is to increase the requirements to pip and earn bloodpoints, a debuff percentage according to how many they are. It's obviously much easier for them to get either of those now.

This thread isn’t about SWF balancing. There are already plenty of other posts on the forum to discuss that topic.

Also for what seffard said regarding the actual topic, yes you can just check the profiles but that’s not consistent. Plenty of players can just put their account on private and deny being a SWF even if they were actually SWF. Not everyone has the same mentality as you to dodge a lobby just because a profile is on private. With this fix there would be no need to check profiles at the end of the match as it would already be clearly there and survivors will no be able to deny being in a group. Also as someone’s who use to play on PS4 I found trying to see if the team I versed was a SWF to be tedious and long for something that’s is much more simple on PC due to keyboard and how faster it is, so this change would also be a quality of life for console people. This isn’t ment to be a huge change, it’s just a quality of life thing.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

I think a few changes could be done.

First remove names and profiles from the lobby. They serve no purpose other than a way to be able to dodge players.

Second change the lobby system so players are locked in and the killers have 30s to set up where survivors can't change the character or items. Leaving the lobby for anything other than a ping over a set amount has the same affect as the DC penalty with smaller time frames and scalling.

Last remove profiles from the end screen and you can then show who is in an swf and who they are playing with. Allow friend requests to happen from there so players can still make friends.

That’s actually a really good idea to implement this feature. It pretty much takes away any of the negative consequences that would come with showing who’s in a SWF at the end screen.

I think it would be a nice change but it had been bought up before and the counter argument is that killers will write down names and dodge those groups in the future

A counter argument I have to is that people already do that. I’ve seen a lot of killers list down survivors who gave them a very bad match so that they know in the future if they should either dodge a lobby against those people or not and just go full sweat against them with the strongest stuff they have. Making a SWF indicator is something I think will have more positives then negatives because now killers can stop blindly blameing SWF for all of their bad matches and instead find a different problem for why they lost the match such as the map, the actual skill of the survivors, the mistakes they made, etc.

  • I would love to transfer my PS4 account over to PC since a I have like most of all the killers p3 on that account and a survivor with all the perks to play around with but I’m not sure how crossaving works? Like if I transfer data from my PS4, do I still keep the stuff on my PC save data like my 2 fully completed rifts and tomes and such or would that all be lost?

  • Memes are kind of made to be overused, that’s what makes them memes. It’s everyones own opinion on weather to enjoy the meme or not, so it’s perfectly fine if you don’t find it funny. Me on the other hand, if I see someone in my lobby with the name “Boop the snoot” I am getting me some boops.

I'm not suggesting removing it. I know that the SWF survivors are now BHVR's largest revenue stream. They'd never do that to themselves. My suggestion was to place internal flags on SWF teams that reduce the BP they receive for matches and locks their MMR from changing during matches. That way, they can't climb ranks (even invisible ones) with their team and will need to eventually play solo survivor or killer to replenish their BP.

I thought it was a reasonable solution.

Okay well now there is more problems with that. Let's say a 4 man SWF who are all really good players, purposely lose so their MMR de-ranks and then they go queue up in a SWF group. Since they won't be able to gain MMR, they will be versing killers with low MMR, which means they will be versing some bad killers consistently and get their clips of bullying to put on their Youtube montage videos. I will say that I don't know too well how this MMR system will work but this is just my belief on how it would turn out.

Secondly the decrease in bloodpoints is another bad idea. Survivors already get so little bloodpoints compared to killer. If you are playing survivor, then you probably don't care for blood points to begin with, as if you did then you would just play killer and equip BBQ.

  • They can't nerf SWF for the same reason as to why they added SWF in the first place. Yes playing with your friends was demanded for by people, but that's not the only reason they added it. It was also for the reason that many players were dodging lobbies so that they can end up in the same match. By adding SWF they were able to solve the lobby dodging problem and have more people be interested in the game because they have the option to play with their friends. SWF is needed.

When I first got dead by daylight, the reason I stuck with it long enough to actually get invested into the game was due to the ability to play with my friends. If it never had that option I probably wouldn't still be playing this game. Sure SWF used by coordinated people can make them really difficult to deal with as killer, but also there are plenty of SWF squads who truly do just want to play with their friends. Making the game solo survivor only isn't going to make anything scary. I play mostly solo survivor these days and still don't get scared at anything because I 've played this game for awhile. By making it only solo they would actually just make things more frustrating if anything. Anyone who has played solo survivor for too long can understand the frustration that comes with having P3 clauds and megs as teammates with no way to communicate to them what they are doing wrong. In solo the killer isn't the scariest thing... its the survivors you are playing with.

  • Yeah it’s odd that the DS stun time wasn’t addressed at the same time as the enduring rework?

  • They nerfed him for a bit by taking away his flick and he was so bad to play it was laughable. Oni’s power is fine the way it is honestly. Maybe a nerf they can do is to change add ons like scalp topknot or take away his synergie with infectious. The base power itself is fine.

  • I’ve seen people call Demo weak. Sure his portals are inconsistent and pale in comparison to something like Freddy’s teleport or Billy’s chainsaw, but it’s still a a perfectly fine way for mobility around the map, and his shred can absolutely destroy a lot of tiles like killer shack and long wall jungle gyms, if you know how to use the shred correctly. His potential with STBFL is also really good.

  • So as someone who has played Oni on both console and PC, I can tell you that Oni on console actually feels nicer to control with a controller when it comes to the demon dash specifically. Demon strike for sure feels choppy on console but the demon dash is super smooth to control. The flick when coming out of demon dash Is implemented on all version of Oni, weather it’s console or PC so there really shouldn’t be much problem for console players to do good with him.

  • How could anyone be scared of a good boy like Demo?

  • Extending the length of gens time is not the solution imo. There definitely needs to be a solution but increased gen times will make playing survivor more boring then it already is and would harm solo survivor players so much that it would be forcing people to resort to playing SWF way more often just so they can have a chance to coordinate the progress of gens better.

I know people want ruin back, but it’s hard to deny that ruin as a fix to gen speeds was the most inconsistent solution there could be. you could have a ruin see almost little use due to getting cleansed early, or have it last the entire match and have super slow gens that give the killer more time then they need.

From the outcry of the community after the ruin nerf and ScottJunds video suggesting a new slowdown mechanic that caught the attention of the devs. I’m confident that the gen speeds will get addressed either the next mid chapter patch or the chapter 16 patch. So let’s just be patient and wait to see what they do.

  • I’m just getting sick off all the survivors challenges that involve escaping the trial. Those ones are so boring and frustrating, especially when you are a solo survivor.

  • Considering I am a solo survivor. Archives that involve escaping a trial make me lose my mind.

Who said the devs? I'm saying YOU the community. Everyone loved yui. Devs let's add another chick with a side haircut and a leather jacket to make everyone happy and the killer will suck but who cares? Looks apparently appease to community more then good characters so be it right? I'm gonna get the chapter like everyone else for the sake of content so I am apart of the problem.

I don't think that's how it works. They plan out everything about the chapter way before the cursed legacy chapter came out. Also if the logic that yui's popularity has something to do with this new survivors design then how come they didn't add another thicc survivor like Jane right away considering how hyped she was? In fact I think she was WAY more hyped up and popular then Yui ever was.

  • Why is it the devs fault that people hyped over Pinhead when there was no definitive proof that the next killer even was Pinhead?

  • Plague having a chance to use corrupt once against non cleansing survivors without add ons may sound like a simple change but this will completely change the way survivors play against her. I love that change. The doctor one isn't that big of a deal but I'm fine with it. This patch seems like the perfect buff to killers overall as a way to make up for the heavy killer nerf of ruin from the last patch.

  • The idea of a way to destroy god loops at the cost of taking time to break walls sounds like the kind of crazy change this game needs.

  • Are you telling me you aren’t hyped by frickin CHAINS!?

''I would love to live in a world where you can go anywhere online''

    #########

Did you literally not read the rest of my post? Wow! I’m not sayings “ I wish to have all access to everywhere on the internet” I’m saying that the places I do go, it is unreasonable for me to assume that the people on all these websites and online games are all going to be nice and respectful people.

  • It 100% has to be map sizes. The problem with gens going to fast has a huge part to do with killers not being able to disrupt the survivors on the gens and protect them easily. Look on maps like red forest and ormond and you will see just how spread out the gens are from each other. This is why clown is considered the worst killer in the game and it’s because he has no means to get around the map and stop these gens consistently. Personally, if every map was the same size as chapel, this game would be way more reasonable with it’s gen speed. Most times I see a killer get gen rushed is because they are on a huge map.

  • Yes Oni is stupidly strong when he has his power, especially when he’s using scalped topknot. However he is still well balanced out because he most of the time doesn't have his power and is just an m1 killer. His early game is especially weak. Currently I would say Oni is one of the most perfectly balanced killers in the game.

  • I would love to live in a world where you can go anywhere online and expect people to be respectful and nice, but reality can be disappointing. There is nothing that is going to stop people from being awful to someone because since this isn’t real life’s they can hide themselves behind usernames to avoid consequences from being a jerk. There isn’t really anything, anyone can do to stop these people from doing what they do. We just have to accept that this is a thing that is present in all online video games and to not let them bother us so we can just enjoy the game itself.

I know you didn’t what the “it’s the internet” excuse, but you just have to face facts that this is the reason. You don’t know how many people you meet in real life could actually be monsters on the internet. I try my best to not be mean to people in this game, because I know that this is just a game, and people genuinely just want to have fun in it. There’s a reason why you see so many people make posts about bad games they’ve had compared to good ones, because those bad games are the ones that ruin their fun.

  • @Grandkurama said:

I think there shouldn't be any dc penalties. The devs want my money and they think they can take them by not letting me play their game? Hell no. Dc penalties are bs. I payed the game and I'm allowed to do what i want. Who cares to git gud.

    Am I Right?

When you buy the game you agree to the fact that the game can constantly change and add stuff that isn’t always going to be ideal to you. You bought the online video game, you get what you get, the devs don’t owe you anything just because you bought their game. If you are getting penalized because you DC’d then you are going against the rules that the devs implemented and thus are obviously going to get punished. If the game made you DC then it’s unfortunate but this is the stuff you agreed to when you bought the game.

you are allowed to be unsatisfied with the game and give your feedback, but if you’re unsatisfied just because you are no longer allowed to DC and ruin the game for other players who also bought the game, then that type of behavior is clearly unwanted in this game.

  • Man if you think flashlights are stronger now you must not have been around back when they were literally insta blinds with no real counter play besides facing walls. From your wording of the problem with flashlights is that people can chain blind you right? To counter that, all you need to do is either look all the way up or all the way down and it will be impossible for the survivors to chain blind you. It’s that simple, and if you are worried about picking someone up, you should learn to bait out the flashlight savors and to face the wall when picking up if there is one near you. Once you know how to counter flashlights they are the weakest item in the game.

  • I think of it like this. How many of these game breaking bugs where you are forever stuck honestly going to happen compared to the large amount a people who DC? DCs ruin way more games then any bug could possibly do. I feel you are someone who doesn’t DC normally and you are suddenly forced to DC because of a bug then a thing least you don’t have to worry about being banned for as long as other games would punish you. 5 minutes is nothing.

  • So a post talking about how body blocking, a thing that has been in the game for years is a bug, and the post is basically taunting people by calling them idiots if they don’t think this is a bug? This has to be the most obvious bait I’ve ever seen in my life.

  • I’m fairly confident that it is the rash slinging? The flash flinging? The trash linging? Oh wait!? I mean the Hash slinging slasher.

  • Dude honestly that team sounds like the type of team I want to go against. If they are all running flashlights while following you that means less people sitting on gens. I’d say this experience you hand has more with you not being a good killer and less to do with the survivors being op.

I’ll give you some tips to deal with these players. First make sure to try and face a wall when you are near one so they don’t get the flashlight blind. 2nd, if you down a person, you should just stand above their body for a bit and see if you can bait out a flashlight rescuer to get a free hit. 3rd, If the survivor is downed in the open with no wall you might as we’ll slug since the other survivors are hanging around close to you and you will most likely find a new survivor to down quickly. 4th, if the survivors is body blocking the hook you have no choice but to try and hit them, just pressing space over and over is not going to hook them. Finally, I’m not sure if the magical teleport thing is legit a bug or not, but are you sure it wasn’t just the survivor doing a 360 on you or having auto aim make you miss? Because teleporting survivors only happen when the survivor is either a hacker or they have a really bad connection.

  • I mean, I would be completely fine with them taking a large amount of time to fix issues with the game but also, going like 6 months without any new content would be disappointing and could probably be worse since that’s 6 months without something new to keep people interested in the game. Could go either which way really.

  • There could definitely be the killers purposely slugging people and never picking them up to bait DCs, but I think there is also something else to blame. For awhile now, people who have been slugged make no sound sometimes, and sound isn’t the killers best tool for locating slugs.

I get that that this baiting of DCs thing is annoying but both sides are always going to pull scummy stuff when a new update comes out that can promote the playstyle. I’m sure a lot of killer players can tell you the amount of toolboxes being brought into their games after the ruin nerf. It’s unfortunate that there are are people who resort to playing like this, but the best we can do is not give them what they want, if you actually DC you are just fueling them to continue doing it. If these players see that no one is DCing and that we don’t care if we get slugged and still say GG then they won’t get their fun.
