Diminishing returns works by reducing the 2nd, 3rd… effect on a survivor/killer/gens like stacking haste or vaulting speed or gen regression speed.
Aura reading doesn't stack like if you have 1 perk revealing the survivor and the second one then it will show aura for as long as the stronger perk works.
Why are we complaining about info perks that just give info and nothing else, would you rather a killer have full slowdown or just a lot of information and it's so easy to dodge against judgement anyway.
The killer as of 2026 has the potential for a 6 aura build. Anything that can be stacked should count. Not just the things that affect survivors can put in their builds.
-
There was a big update about diminishing returns but aura doesn't count…… BHVR knows but they cover their one side, ie dev got blinded = flashlights get immediate nerf. You are not wrong.
-
I am sure that I will be banned. But the fact that 10 year "Celebration" for a game has had as many bugs as it does. AND the response is 9 days or so after it is already going. IS CRAZY. Put on your tin foil hat because I think that BHVR gave you 10 mil BPS and yet messed up their cake value. Weird……..I saved 15 million for the anniversary and got 40 cakes……. Now due to a random bug, "DBD every single status", i can get more with BPS that i no longer have.. Great. Tonight, 7/7/2026 I had 1 dc EVERY game. Killers when they did poorly and survivor when, who knows, the stars didnt align. I have played for years and this game to this day feels like a BETA with HUGE monetary purchases that would make a free to play game smile (Cosmetics). Every single character, killer or survivor, releases with 40 dollars worth of cosmetics. DBD is in a horrible for 10 years. No one talks about it. Those that do just move on and since there is no competition, why get better?
-
Like the guy before you dont understand. WORKING WITH THE KILLER is a bannable offense. Not the slugging for the 4k, that is just a sign of lack of skill. You guys really need to read and understand before you jump in. This does nothing for the discusion. But for the sake of saying, I will say my piece and ignore every killer whining that their lack of skill style is the best or whatever. But slugging is for pressure. So killers that slug the entire team just because they had a bad day in real life, there is no strategic value to the slug. They just want to ruin peoples fun. Should be bannable. And I have reported for and seen action taken messages. Take that for what it is. Overall its just another way for cheesing a win without having skill at the game. At higher mmr those players get wrecked so it is what it is.

No one is upset because leaving 2nd survivor slugged to deny last survivor hatch is not holding the game hostage and is not bannable. No one is being forced to rat out their teammates. Holding the game hostage means that one side is preventing the other side from progressing the game. I don’t know if you realize this, but there is a bleed out timer for the person who is slugged. Do I think there should be a way for people to abandon match or accelerate that timer in this situation if they want? Absolutely. But the survivors are not being held hostage. Slugged survivor will eventually bleed out and last survivor has options. They can try to hide and do actions to avoid crows until other survivor bleeds out so hatch spawns, or they can take their chances with killer in a final chase. I know this isn’t a popular opinion, but last survivor is not entitled to hatch and I have no problem with killer trying to get 4K if that’s the way they choose to play.
You can keep reporting it if you want, but those reports will just get thrown into the trash bin because it’s not bannable. You clearly misunderstand. It is bannable to work with the killer. I never said holding the game hostage was bannable. You just like in other posts read something and went on your own thing. And if that is your belief on the trying to force to the survivor to help the killer. Then you clearly have no idea as what we are talking and so overall I am not sure why you even commented.

Do i need to post my stats again that show a 55+% escape rate in exclusively solo queue? Cuz i will…
This is last 30 days:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7UWQJIEGOCZZ/image.png
Which really is only low in play count because of 2v8 which i have exclusively been playing so its dropped off a bit, but it was around 100ish a couple of weeks ago.
Here's my 2v8 stats to show i'm playing tons of 2v8 for receipts:
What are showing stats meant to prove. Right now, it would seem that per the conversation you have less experience which was my statement to begin with. But …..

I'm going to respond to that the same way i get responded to when i talk about hyper efficient SWF teams being a problem and get told they are rare but then saying "not to me":
"Press X To doubt"
I can understand the concept that even though my time as killer which is less and just screw around in. So I don't see those bully squads. And you should not be ridiculed for it. That is YOUR experience, the same that mine is mine. But I raised the question or are they bully's for being efficient? That is the whole purpose of survivor.

If you can't get somewhere to safety in 15 seconds of immunity, you did something wrong. 15 seconds gets you 66 meters of distance before the killer can hit you. Keep in mind that most maps are 98 x 98 square meters roughly (roughly t he shape of a square but sometimes more rectangular. When you factor in the edges of the map are around 10ish meters, that is ALMOST enough to cross an entire map. If you can't get to a pallet, or a window, or something in 15 seconds, i'm sorry, but that is on you.
Talking about full slugging in comp is not relevant here. I was simply talking about the basekit mechanics in play. I personally am not super familiar with the current rules of comp (for example i heard recently they banned noed for example). But i was merely explaining how a basekit mechanic that was added to the game to deal with camping is banned in comp, which i find interesting is all. I really don't want to go on a tangent about comp because that isn't my main point, i;d like you instead to stay on topic and focus more on what i said about the base mechanics of the game itself because comp isn't what we all play.
It doesnt seem like you have recently played the other side at all.

@Reinami said:

Punishing people for playing the game does not solve the problem because any possible mechanic they could create to deal with this will be able to be abused in a way that its not intended.
They instead need to fundamentally rework the base mechanics of the game such that tunneling is not possible from a gameplay perspective, and that slugging would be worse than just hooking the survivor.
And why is that we need anti-tunnel, anti-camp, anti-3-gen and now anti-slug mechanics in place but not anti-gen rush?
All of this is from my gameplay experience over the last year. Tunneling happens ALOT. Slugging happens alot, the excuse of FT is weak. The number of times that I do well and get slugged for 4 mins to deny hatch is often times 4out of 10 games more some nights. Anti camp will forever be useless for the reason you said and it has to be accepted. There are too many high mobility killers for it to truly matter. Now for the gen rush, don't know i play killer with no perks for fun. Don't care. But I have seen killers accuse me and my solo queue of it when none of us had perks for gen rushing or even a toolbox. It almost seemed like alot of killers feel that running certain perks are enough. Those killers I mentioned never kicked a single gen that I saw. I wonder how many people are actually getting gen rushed and how many are just thinking that their perks will carry that aspect of the game.

I would like to add that your suggestion to change mindset and understand that its just a game can be said to killers also, not every killer has to 4k not every killer (70%) has to use the best "strategy". The problem comes from comp play, since the killers there tunnel, its copied against people who want to play a game for fun, and don't have money on the line.
The number of times that killers will the next day or later that night go to my steam profile outside of the game to taunt me for crying or whatever the regular rhetoric is as an insult is shocking.

Why are you demonizing all killer players based on what happened in one match? Posts like this are purely for divisive purposes.
I have seen your posts in other threads. You have to be doing a bit right?
-
So I did not read every single comment but I am shocked that no one seemed upset about the bannable offense of taking the game hostage and forcing one survivor to rat out their teammate or just sit on the ground slugged to prevent the ever feared hatch. As for the OP, I have been clear that I am a survivor main and this happens ALL THE TIME. Truthfully report them. It is against the rules for the killer to work with the survivor. Or vice versa.

Sure thing. You are right.

That is not how it works with BP. As killer you get more BP on average because you are in the game from start to finish. I have a lot of survivor games where I'm in it for not very long because I got tunneled. Or I had a game where I only did gens and didn't do much else and got low BP.
Plus a lot of people have been complaining and suggesting that survivors need a BP rework because you don't get that much with them.
As for 60/40 - you're looking at one survivor as a whole team. There are 4 survivors in a team that are playing towards the same goal. The goal is to get out and to help your team to get out as well. It's not saying a team of 4 survivors should get 40 percent of wins - it's saying you as a player should get 40 percent of escapes. Even if you died in the game and the three other survivors won - that means your team won. It means you won as well, even though you died. So I mean technically you could die in every game that you played and if the killer only killed you and no one else, then you won every game.
for the 60/40 thats not me looking at it. It's how the devs have portrayed it.

I’ve been playing this game since 2019. I have the hours to prove I’m not a one sided killer (I’ll upload a screenshot of my stats that shows my username). This game is not Killer sided. It’s not even survivor sided. It’s based on your skills and how well you mind game.
However there are some perks that don’t require any skill at all. This includes on-demand sprint burst. I will and have before admitted that it’s the one class I always use as survivor because of how strong it is (like how I would pick legion as killer) but when I’m killer, it’s very frustrated and broken. Even though I use it all the time as survivor I can also see how it’s a problem and needs to be reworked in 2v8. As someone who mainly played legion in 2v8, I can see and agree he should have been removed because he was frustrating to go against as survivor.
It still baffles me that this is still thing because I have seen a lot of people complain about how unfun it is as killer like how legion was unfun for survivors. It needs to go.https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/B7ICR52JPJ4Q/img-4199.png
For the record, you said that it is not killer sided. But according to your stats alone, you have almost equal bps earned even though you have 300 hours more as survivor than as killer. Hmm. Less time as killer and yet you have earned as much bp as the other. You have disproven yourself with your own stats. And let's not ignore that the devs constantly say that killers are supposed to win 60 to 40? They agree its one sided.

So there is no problem with ghostface using his power and exposing someone only for them to run away and instead of using a vault or a pallet, they just press a button and get on demand sprint burst for free once he is about to get a down. Meanwhile you just wasted your power because someone pressed "F". It's very frustrating and not fun. Just like being injured by a legion then to be downed by their partner.
This is the issue. The them vs us. Which I only care about my side. If you were actually looking at facts. Then this game is BEYOND killer sided. But there is NO REAL discourse here. It's one side say their opinion and if enough agree then it's fact. NONE OF WHICH BHVR cares about because they keep doing what they do. I would love to do a one for one on it.
-
BHVR has recycled yet again. NOTHING new, except that the wesker killer is kill switched because coding broke him, yet you can play him in 2v8. Which lets you see the broken. I love looking at the above "NEW" and seeing nothing but KILLER. BHVR atleast pretend to care about both sides.
-
the votes do enough. Half of people know what I am talking about. Truthfully, if you have never seen it then I don't think your vote is a true vote. So I'll even retract my statement to you and apologize. The votes are for those that dealt with it and have an answer. YOU are not wrong but in solo queue with 3 new people, for example, nothing about what is a legit that you said matters. Because the new people don't know and are still just learning. Or even better those games we all have where someone is upset at 5 because they hate the map or killer and are quitting. The scenario can happen because of numerous this. And most of those are outside of the control of one or two people who know what they are doing.

@KatsuhxP said:
How would you even manage to tunnel someone out at 5 gens? I mean if you simply run as soon as you see the killer (or you hear his terrorradius) you can already delay him by 20 seconds probably for his first hit, the second should also take at least 15-20 - so we are already at 35-40 seconds for the first down. Most of the time the first gen is doubled basically instantly at the start, so even with that chasetime that should be achievable basically always and for everyone, you are at least at 2/3 of the first gen - and you're not even hooked. If you don't run perfectly into this gen it should be done probably when the killer arrives or even before that.
You have to make a lot of mistakes to manage to not even complete a gen with 1 person dead already. If that actually happens to you, you won't win that match, but at least you get better what you bitterly need if that happened xD
Thanks for the comment meant only to insult people. DBD is lucky to have people like you.

-
I think that his changing forms should have some type of negative. And batform should NOT be infinite.
-
You can get put in dbd forum jail for saying that you want to go next. But a killer can come in here and brag about doing what makes people want to gg next. Nothing happens. What a weird way to run a community. NOW DEVS, I am not saying that I will or anything. Just saying that, this killer behavior leads to it, but you allow it.
-
To not make this them vs them, but there are playstyles that are beyond boring, unfun and not worth dealing with for both sides. And it is on BHVR to make it better ultimately, as we both know. If the devs refuse to do so, how are people paying for the game responsible? The things that I have hated in other games are addressed. This game is the first that I have ever seen where the sides are so divided. To fix one the other has to suffer. And neither side ever feels its fair, myself included, I know this game is one sided. Devs have to fix it or this conversations could continue for another x years

I mean I generally wind up killing any bots and letting the rest out because botting out against Pig is a little ridiculous.
I think an exponential increase penalty system would probably be for the best and deter habitual dc'ers first is 5 minutes, next is 25, next is an hour, next is 2 hours, beyond that it'll add on days. BHVR needs to combat this issue somehow ya know.
In my experience, problem becomes I have comcast, but have suffered internet issues due to that companies don't care. So I should be punished more severely because my internet is acting up and I'm just trying to play with friends? I'm curious to know the number of legit dc's due to player input as per things beyond their control. The internet to this day is not consistent for many. Just throwing that out there. Not the end all answer. But I have seen it and so just saying.

Self care used to be what you wanted. But it was deemed too strong. That's why you have to bring botany.

I just don't think it's fair that, the person who ruined the game for the four other people in the match can just queue up again in seconds and potentially ruin someone else's match ya know.
Beyond truthfully, I don't think that, the other "four people" is valid. So many, I'll say people, want easy wins. There is a specific killer that I have never seen take the hard path. But it is a video game. People deserve to enjoy what they spent money on. What do you propose? Out of curiosity.

- Use strong loops, she can't outplay you on good pallets.
- Her swing can't turn much.
- Her speed is 4.8 on headform, it's good to know that.
- Taking hits is extremely good against her head form.
- Her "spit" has auto-aim when killer shots it at wall or object. It's easier to dodge it in the open field.
- If she vaults the pallet, you can vault after her with a good timing. Sometimes it's good to try!
Awesome info.

Like I said a flashlight squad isn't a bad thing, sabo squads who run no mither are more painful in that regard lol. But again franklin's weave lol. But my main point is in general I'm seeing people give up earlier and more often regardless of the killer being faced and I'm just worried about the data that, that's giving bhvr ya know.
Sorry. I misunderstood I guess. But no matter the punishment, people have paid their hard earned money for this game, dlc and cosmetics. Where is the line on what they find fun for their money and the devs requirements?
-
Not as helpful as @Aven_Fallen but I think that killer was the buggiest ever released. You are not wrong. But nothing will probably ever happen considering the history of this decade old game.

@Lorelei_Albrecht_TTV said:
My mains are Sadako, Pig (Amanda), and Plague. I've put quite a lot of time learning these three, their kits and their techs, and yet lately I'm at a point of asking myself what am I doing this for ya know. The pace of the game has increased exponentially and there's a few maps that you can spawn on where you just lose due to the lack of traversal.
That being said survivor is also in an equally weird spot where I wanna learn to be a better team mate and learn to loop and everything but, I am at a point where I'm like why? I could just bring a gen progression build which if I don't get found first the team gets out. I can be equally valuable without needing to learn chase.
That being said I do run a chase build because I actually do wanna become a decent player on both sides ya know. All the while I can say as someone who's solo queue only it's never been in a worse spot.
The amount of times where a game that could've been a four out turned into a 4 k because a team mate dc'ed because they got two tapped is frustrating. People are giving up way earlier and more often these days it feels like.
And when I'm not facing a gen eating squad on killer it's people running flashlights and stun stuff. It's not necessarily problematic it's just funny that I get yelled at for playing how I need to against teams like this. Like it would be stupid to take the pallet stun or take a flashlight save. Also when i see more than one flashlight I always run the franklin's weave combo and the amount of times I've been accused of hacking over it will never not be funny to me.
DBD seems to be in a spot where bhvr doesn't seem to know what they want the game to be because on killer it's balanced for players who're putting the time in to learn kits, techs and both micro and macro gameplay while survivor has been increasingly shaving away at those things. You don't necessarily need to learn all that to perform decently on survivor.
To top it off in spite of the main community's general dislike for 2 v 8 due to how much it screws up the queue times it is always extended because there seems to be enough casual players who only come for the event to warrant extending it in hopes that those players spend money before they leave.
As it stands the game is in a in between spot that makes no one happy and BHVR is going to have to decide between the players who are dedicated to the game or the casuals who only play the events.
Watch "Pro streamers" survivors. It is very often that you watch a stream and the majority of what you see is a few good chases, but a 4k. I played with a well known streamer once and thought that it was going to be an easy win. We got 4k'd. I watch the vod and it was just them on a gen talking to chat. Not a negative. But it shows where things are for that side. You will find bully squads, I do not believe they are that common. Truthfully, I think in 2026 ego's are so fragile that every loss had to have been against a bully squad. They exist, I'm just saying that I think it's misconstrued. And spoiler alert, not you, but saying in general, 4 beamers usually means 4 people who are going to do stupid things. as far as the BHVR comment, if you look at the forums, they are getting paid, THATS what matters. last year, it was fix x and y at the end…….lets do nothing. as long as they are getting paid, all you can do is play or not play. sadly.
-

Well obviously the survivors are creating the monsters that tunnel them. Haha. Some part of the survivors do tell everyone they dont care if they lose or wanna play casual and chill.… These are the first to rage at anything that makes them lose.
In less ragebaity words.
Ignore the sore losers and play as you want. But if you ever feel theyre being ungrateful despite yourself actually playing by their book, you're free to actually stop giving a ######### about their rules anytime you want.
("At 5 gens" is anything between 7 gens at 0% and 7 gens at 99%, which can be anything between 0 seconds into the trial and 5+minutes into the trial, it can also change from 5 to anything between 4 and 1 within seconds at any given moment after about 2-3minutes into the game. Its such a broad variable timeframe if were being honest. In the meantime survivors are rushing up to 4 gens at a time, without the curtesy of swapping gen every 30s, while theyre "at 0hooks".)
Overall, positive feedback. Then this guy wanted to be less than. As a survivor main, thanks. This other poster is trying to breed that toxicity. But to try to help, when I started DBD, teabaging at the exit once or twice was a gg. Also waiting at gate gave me a chance to let you get another hit in to get you some more pointes. Bagging in chase was to keep you on me, keep you coming at me not my team. Not insulting. As far as toxic, I feel that due to covid and so many forced shut ins got on twitch and such. The average age of players is low. Children do what children do. You can't let that get to you.

Always hate this. It happened as early as Wraith's rework too. Suddenly the fun bing bong man went away and everything was a race to the finish.
It's all a race to finish….. Unless the killer wants to slug for 4 mins to deny hatch. Or work with a survivor for, I have seen 15 plus minutes of it in a match, because they couldn't down them naturally. Then, weirdly, the race stops. Gotta win.

the same way you survivors are terrified of the fabled tunnel/slugging everygame. Survivors give the same treatment to their fellow gamers for the same thing. killer cant help if you feel "miserable" because of how they're playing. bring DS if help with tunnel, if you refuse to bring those certain perks then dont come crying about tunneling or slugging
It happens every 2 out of 3 games. So you have no idea what you are talking about.
-
Its a base level killer. new players play against him. god this forum needs to remember that new people want to play as well. There has to be killers that the new people can try to play against or else take the game out of stores at this point.
-
I didn't read the essays before, but I will say, because recently I have been advocating for the unheard, the new players to this elitist's game, that playing with friends who have had the game longer and getting constantly found in a horror game due to the killers constantly knowing where you are. Is not fun. This seems to be a constant to my posts. The people who have been playing for years are not the only people in this game. Sadly some new people buy it and then uninstall.

It's very healthy to have a killer who can't function properly without it's best addons being equipped. Sure.
You clearly misunderstand the entire discussion.
-
The matchmaking won't matter, in my opinion, because the new player experience is so awful for survivors. I have multiple friends who uninstalled because of "strategic" gameplay. They did try killer and found it easy and boring. But since they bought it to play with friends, they just uninstalled. They wanted to play with friends, not the killer side of the game. Matchmaking can't exist when the game is heavier on one side. People don't want survivor solo queue. And to keep queue times lower, everyone that can fill a lobby is thrown in. My friends and I have 2.5k, 6k and 2k hours and we get a random with 100 to 500 OFTEN. As far as killer advantage goes. In my games, the doors tend to spawn INCREDIBLY close, if not on the same wall. The new trickster map was designed so that a killer can stand in a single spot very close to the doors and watch both. The hatch, if it doesnt spawn at the survivor, is in favor of the killer, because they can move freely. The last survivor has to be very cautious to find it. ButI agree that it needs to be fixed.
-
This is all because the killer main community is TERRIFIED of the fabled 4 man fast track. So as always killers will treat fellow gamers like trash for a fear of an uncommon thing. Besides why do only survivors have to bring certain perks for those that want to make the game miserable for others? And I do not consider people bringing lightborn, because they see one beamer.
-
And I will speak on it because I have talked to people about it. Sometimes, your teammates suck because they are also new. I dislike it but it is true that this game take more study to play well than it should. It's not just people being trash to others, they don't know any better. And since I have had a back to hook killer EVERY game for one year straight, but the other things that are awful for new people. Beyond studying like its for a diploma what are new people supposed to do. And BHVR keeps putting it on sale or free so they keep the survivor, I call them "Fodder" there for the killers to treat like trash so they uninstall.
-
I think that the solo queue is so miserable that people just become killers and move on. Or as with many that I have talked to and know of they just uninstall and accept that their money was wasted on the purchase. So the concept of mmr cant exist because there are not enough people on one side. But I don't have the numbers and wouldn't believe them if I did.

Did you played killer in live or in custom games?
How many games you have done as killer and when you started?
Just curious you want to be treated as beginner but you already played dbd over one year and know whats going on.
Ultimately, I play killer TO HAVE FUN. It is a video game, designed to be played and have fun. In this game, it is commonly understood that the killer is in COMPLETE control of how the game goes. Especially, its level of fun. And since my ego will never go down due to losing in a video game and my family is still safe and secure whether I win or lose. I feel no need to treat other people on the same game that they are playing like trash because my world and ego, being competitive is all ego, do not demand that I sweat through my matches. I run deathslinger with no addons and no perks and can 4k if I want. This game is BORINGLY EASY on killer. I do run into survivors WAY better than me. And they win. Guess what life kept going. It was fine. I didn't have to tunnel or slug or go back to hook. I patrol gens and still can 4k. The killer side argument about challenge is massively overexaggerated. The simple fact is that if you have to employ CHEAP "Strategies" to 4k then very simply put, YOU need to get better. At the end of it all, it's a video game that I really like and want others to enjoy as well. So that's what I do since as killer since I am completely in control.

I am a survivor main, obviously by my posts, but it was too much. Even Gideon, I agree, had too much. But as always, its either go 100% or -100% with design decisions. NO ONE is able to just tweak anything. Both sides see this.

The most are not high mmr. Doing gens is the very basic of the game. Say your friends that they don't need to instant unhook you to prevent the tunneling. Yiu should also play killer to learn more about the other side before blaming everyone else.
Ignorant thought. I have played both. I know whats going on. So your basic counter means nothing. But I guess thanks for the comment.

This heavily depends on the killer.
Probably. I am just referring to the over abundance of pallets where one side is so small that its faster to just walk around. There are too many of those.

Also sensible. And I agree with you, i do the same. Doesn't matter in end game chat, I'll get the toxic ez anyways but I agree. Sadly in my exp over the last year a half, the hatch is almost always denied by the killer due to the slug. But thanks.

You can still get few gens done and earn some BPs. After all, it doesn't take too much to lose intentionally, besides, there's always a chance killer will ''calm'' down and there will opportunity for you do stuff, like some tricky quests.
At this point, I don't need the BPs. But I will concede that some do. But it is still time vs reward. Moving into the next game and not sweating for too long in a losing situations could be more BPs. So toss up. But staying for the "hope" that the sweaty killer will calm down is a crazy take. If so the killer shouldn't be playing the 4v1 game he should fine a 3v1.

As long as all remaining survivors unanimously agree to it, they should just be allowed to forfeit (like every other online multiplayer game has).
But assuming that's off the table… I voted "Fight" because I want it to be up to the survivors. I don't want a mere "Game Over" screen because one teammate was bad.
I don't mind fighting over hatch, but it's so boring in its current iteration. And if the killer decides to slug for the 4k, it becomes completely pointless! That entire situation needs a redesign.
I disagree with the vote, but I do agree with you 100%. I have other posts about the nonsense of slugging for hatch. So solid comment. Thanks.

An that folks is what DBD and Behavior has become
I 100% agree. The devs are showing where they stand and its on a certain side of the line. Money is the concern. If skins are and dlc are still being bought, then its all fine.

As with most of this community, you are being minimally realistic. Yes its free, BUT with the average mobility of killers now. Most people don't get much distance. So irrelevant. The average problem person just has no concern, like the dev for the fact that new people and people who dont want to be streamers andyoutubers play this game. YOU are clearly one of those. For the overall purpose DS is not the answer to what you quoted.
