  • "the killer than benefits from tunneling has received a major buff to tunneling" a tale as old as time

  • Nurse doesn't need a rework she just needs a skill ceiling, she doesn't play the same game as any other killer. Lore wise, the entity will make her to asphyxiate for destroying the survivor's hope, causing a few effects that last while survivors are on the ground and for a few seconds afterwards:

For every slugged survivor, decrease her base movement speed, blink recharge speed, and effective FOV to decrease snowball potential. -Movement speed makes it harder to position herself before blinking

-blink recharge speed should be noticeably slower at 2 people on the ground, maybe 15% at 2, 30% at 3, and (until the unbreakable-basekit update) 50% slower at 4 people to allow for clutch recoveries

-instead of actually lowering her FOV you add a gradient overlay to the screen (like what survivors get when infected by Plague, Nemesis, Wesker, etc.) that takes up more of the screen the more survivors who are slugged, and (VERY slightly) decrease vision brightness. At 2 or more survivors, she looses all aura reading.

  • I was getting absolutely destroyed on RCP by a feng, Normally if there's no scratches I track the blood, but I couldn't do that. turns out she was just speed hacking, when I downed her she did the infamous "slug crawl on speed"

  • Haha Knives go Brrrrrrrrr

  • So long as his voice clip is missing, all changes mean nothing. Legal issue or not, that was a huge part of appeal to the character- his voice lines. Imagine if they suddenly replaced Myers with a generic character?

  • They will appear on the shrine every so often, remade as different perks. If you own the characters you can still grind to unlock the original perks.

  • Same issue, not that it mattered as the two console Randos let me rot on first hook

  • It seems to be random. one match I can jsut outright say the f word but the next match I can't even say "I had fun"

  • @Dragonshensi said:

At first I assumed he was garbage like everyone else. However, since most matches seem to be either the cornfields or autohaven, with their huge amounts of dead zones and low barriers so you cant hide or dodge his knives, he’s actually perfect. No joke, every time I go up against him it’s always either the cornfields, autohaven, or the shrine and he dominates the match. How could he not? Seems lately most people can’t get any of the other maps anymore except these. I almost wonder if the devs did something for Trickster to always give him the big open dead zone maps so he will do amazing and people will play with him more.

Every time a killer comes out 4heads are quick to say he's bad. Watching real players of this game I can already tell he has some good potential and techniques.

  • And I take it back, there is no justification for chat censorship in any game. Grow some skin people.

how long before people figured a way to crash their game on purpose? Game crashes do not happen all that often, and if it's happening a great deal I would recomend you submit a ticket to have the information looked at and see what can be done as game crashes usually are windows or other programs on your pc causing issues, and even submitting the information can be augmented by a ticket. but also submitting a ticket under the guise of having them look at things and perhaps do something about that crash because of the penalty is possible I won't say they will but it's in the ticket options. but if you only crash once in a blue moon you won't have a problem getting back into the game after 5 minutes.

    "what if what if"

What if we stop making stupid excuses for inexcusable mechanics. "hurr wat if hax0rs lern to disabl match mak ban?? this is y wen game crash they shold be ban FORTEVER"

The whole point of it locking prior to the point you suggested is down to MMR, when the game is searching for a lobby it will match you with people around the same MMR score - otherwise you'd have people using their lower MMR killers to get lower MMR survivors and then switching to their high MMR'd killer, which is unfair. That's why it's done on lobby creation.

Even switching between killers with similar rankings would be good enough. If I main huntress and bubba and have them close in rating I should be able to switch back and forth without any issue. Not that I know how it's been programmed but I doubt the MMR system has that many more categories than the ranking system, maybe 2 or 3 times for precision

  • @Gay Myers (Luzi) said:

They kept this in so once they turn the MMR back on, it doesn't require a full in game update, otherwise it'd require a game update.

Honestly, how difficult would it be to switch killer profiles with killer and lock in the profile during game loading instead of locking in the profile on lobby creation?

No I always stuck with whatever killer I was playing anyways

I have faced off against 4 medkits with Blight before, same with PH and Demo

I just want to be able to put blood points into other killers while I'm in queue

Do you mean to say that the generator would regress at 0.31 charges a second instead of 0.25?

    You’re kidding right?

PGTW is already really strong (and sometimes still complained about), and can only be used a maximum of 12 times.

There would be absolutely no reason to use PGTW if Overcharge could regress gens 25% with any kick, no conditions necessary, AND a survivor still incurs the 15% penalty for failing Overcharge.

This idea is far too broken I’m sorry.

I didn't want to check replies because I know how stupid forum posters are, but ignoring things can only get so so far.

It was OBVIOUSLY implied to be a 25% FASTER regression. So focused on "haha first response!11" you forgot you make sure you comment was smart.

  • Being forced to like something just because it's new is worse than hating something because it's new. Old hud had character and was decorative, the new one is too basic and spread out

  • Nope. Too OP. Choosing to tell survivors that the obsession is being chased is already pushing it. "oh the killer is coming *checks HUD* nevermind they're in chase already *sticks to gen*"

funny about the killer not being able to see hooks remaining, I've always been able to do that in my head as killer but never while playing survivor

  • psst, even if a survivor escapes the trap they're still injured and vulnerable

Despite those handicaps, there are still some really good console players out there. Even I, 3.5k hours in the game have the majority of my hours (2.2k to he exact) on a PC that could barely run the game at 20fps. And I still consistently hit rank 1 and even managed to reach top 150 as Trapper and Wraith according to DbD stats. This was before crossplay was even mentioned by the devs. So just because some one is handicapped, doesnt mean they are automatically bad at the game.

I can't believe this has to be said, but obviously it's possible for some console players to be better than some pc players

  • Hit validation does not work well cross-platform

  • @Mandy said:

Can you be more specific in your comments please. It's really hard to take feedback on board when it's just "this is awful" without any explanation of why it doesn't work.

New hud is WAY too generic and simple. Old hud has charm, the new one looks like it came from an FPS.

  • @Shroompy said:

People here really thinking theres a difference between PC and Console survivors. Both can be equally as bad or good. A platform doesnt change that. Its just that the majority of the games playerbase is bad.

    1) input device. Controllers are objectively, less precise than a mouse and keyboard.

    2) Hardware. Consoles can barely compute with with a moderate gaming PC, The PS5 is the closest any console players have ever been able to get to PC hardware. worse hardware = lower FPS = lower reaction time. Sometimes the hardware differences can benefit the player, lag can benefit survivors in weird ways but it's not dependable

  • @Orionbash said:

Nah. PC definitely has the worst survivors. They're the ones that start the match digging through chests when that's the best time to rush gens. They're the teammates that all wanna be Noob3 and end up dying for it. They can't buy time for ######### and often just camp pallets wasting 'em for those that actually know how to loop. PC survs are useless and there are times where I have to turn crossplay off just to ensure I get into a lobby with good teammates.

There's more to the game than rushing gens, if your team can last in a chase you don't even have to genrush to stomp, you can do it with normal play

  • @GorgonDorgon said:

I’m not sure where you’re located but que times have been pretty great ever since cross play was enabled for both killer and survivor, for me at least. And honestly, any teammate is capable of being useless. Sometimes you get lucky and get a good teammate mostly you don’t whether on pc or console. You also gotta remember people are playing on switch where with those graphics stealth is their only option lol.

    North America.

  • @blue4zion said:

Useless teammates are on both sides.

Far more often for a console survivor to be useless. it's not understood by many but the different platforms have their own meta, and the meta for console relies a lot more on stealth than for pc. this creates more immersed teammates.

That third point is incorrect (and I don't why it's wrong on the wiki again).

    Devout scoring is:

    • 2 points per survivor sacrificed/killed (up to a max of 8)
    • 1 point for hooking all survivors once
    • 1 point for performing 9 or more hook actions in the trial (the physical act of hooking a survivor; on-hook stage progression doesn't count)

Iri Devout requires 10 points, and there are only 10 points to earn.

    --

Gold requires 8 points, so you probably just didn't get enough proper hook actions to receive that 1 extra point to bring you up to Gold.

That's the problem, I got the maximum possible ammount of hooking events, -1. 11 hooks.

  • First thing I did when I started playing this game was switch m1 and spacebar. get a mouse with an autoclicker and your problem is solved.

If you're going up against squad after sweat squad, play a stronger killer like Clown or The Leg𝔦𝔬𝔫

Almost 4k hours. That's just PC alone. You sure you want to go there, bud?

You're complaining that a map that was just reworked and is ARGUABLY more killer sided now, is somehow survivor sided. Only someone BAD AT THE GAME would complain about that. The maps LITERALLY are RNG. They are PROCEDURALLY generated. They have a min/max pallets and tiles number and it can be min/max in any direction. Do your research, then I'll allow you to have an opinion.

I don't believe you have almost 4k hours on "pc alone", but even then it's still possible to play a game a lot and be bad at it. Maybe if you leave your computer on at nights with the game running.

You're the only one here so far who thinks the map is "more killer sided" now, and while the overall layout of the map is a bit better for playing killer, there are way more pallets than there ever were, and the pallets are all close together. in the old gas heaven there were only about 3/4 small loops in the middle of the map, each with 1 pallet, with very little in between. one those middle pallets were gone you only had the gas station to loop or run into a deadzone. Now every jungle gym on the map connects to either another jungle gym, a building, or a good loop, there is only maybe 1 spot on the map where you can be and NOT be within running distance of a loop. I should have recorded the string of games I had, but then people like you would come in and say something stupid like "you played 100 matches an only picked the worst 3 lul"

Blood lodge is something else entirely now, it used to be a huge map with huge open spaces, with a circle of jungle gyms and wooded spaces on the outsides, but now they took out all the empty space between loops, and the blood lodge itself is the most basic loop that can be easily started from any side

Fine, we'll go with your version of what "Random" means. The fact that setups this bad exist means there is something wrong with the generation, the upper limit is far too extreme and the lower limit is just an average map.

  • @Ace_Ventura said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1790442#Comment_1790442

How would you explain my experience of having next to no pallets on Autohaven maps as killer then?

I think that would also be "passed RNG at that point".

There IS NO "passed RNG". It's RNG. It's RANDOM.

    My god, lol

"your experience as a killer main" 200 hours in game and 500 hours watching killer main streamers doesn't count for much bud. If I get 15 people derailing a thread, and then suddenly I make 1 thread where nobody says anything stupid, does that make it "troll RNG"? By your logic, there is no such thing as a predictable outcome. the PARAMETERS of the "random" map generation are bad. There, happy? you do understand the game is procedurally generated and not truly random, right?

  • @Ace_Ventura said:

You just got unlucky with RNG. It happens.

multiple matches in a row, I've been experiencing this since the rework. we're past rng at this point.

  • @Ace_Ventura said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1790412#Comment_1790412

I main killer, and have yet to come across a Blood Lodge with more than 2 pallets across all the middle tiles. I've also counted no more than 10 pallets on Azarovs resting place every time i've played it, which is literally the biggest autohaven map.

Wretched shop had lots of pallets when I played it the few times I did, but they were largely unsafe (aka, git gud, and learn to mind game). Same with Gas Heaven and Wreckers Yard.

not in the middle, on the sides. the match that broke the killer's back was a gas heaven match, a console SWF group had filter pallets next to each other and multiple jungle gyms with vaults facing towards the smaller loops. This was all after a (not so bad, the survivors were not as skilled) match as death slinger, which had the fun bus within running range of a jungle gym, which was fed into by the blood lodge. Gas heaven is the worst of them so far, but I hate how they're all arranged

  • Hilarious how there are so many trolls on this forum who sniper every discussion with what's essentially "no u". why have the mods not banned this trash yet? Sadly mods will only ever issue warning when you get defensive against trolls, and never issue anything to the trolls themselves.

  • I got a >10 minute matchmaking ban for this too, even though it was my first DC this week

But it does give you 4 entire tiers, you must've mistaken pages to be tiers.

You didn't get scammed, you just thought something was one way when it wasn't.

And idk about clarity, but pages on the Rift are called pages, and tiers are called tiers at multiple locations besides the Rift itself, like when you actually buy the tiers, or on the Archives pop-up menu on the right during lobbies.

    Keyword: Feel

dbd cosmetics in general can be pretty overpriced, like that "legendary" cosmetic set that came out with the silent hill DLC costing almost as much as the game itself

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1666202#Comment_1666202

None of that matters in a casual dbd game, this game is balanced around casual players, and isn't a super competitive game, so having slightly faster reaction time doesn't matter, you can still loop well.

The game is not balanced around casual gameplay at all. if you play killer and you're even a centimeter away from an object you're looping around instead of hugging it properly, you could end up getting looped longer than you should have.

When I'm playing killer and I want to make a survivor think they're good at looping so they can escape, I just tap the a or d key every so often and I would never catch up until bloodlust 2

Where did you get this information? The only advantage PC survivors have is stretched res and more settings.

pc players have keyboard and mouse and superior hardware, as mentioned in the original comment.

A keyboard and mouse gives the player much more precision over a controller, and better hardware = higher FPS = better reaction time capability

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1666175#Comment_1666175

No, but Myers levelling up is counted as a tier, which each level of the rift is. Each page is there just because you can't fit 70 tiers onto a single screen.

the point is the wording is bad. I don't even think you fully understood my metaphor, as the point was that individual rewards are too small of an increment to be called a "tier"

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/196621/i-feel-scammed

Crossplay didn't kill the game, it gave everyone better queue times, lmfao.

it made queue time worse when playing killer, it made queue times way better for survivor but there's no point in playing survivor if half your team mates are useless, and the vast majority of consoles are.

Console players are not equipped for PC metas. The controller is objectively a worse method of input than a keyboard and mouse, and all consoles have lesser hardware when compared to basically any medium end gaming pc.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

What wasn't clear about it all? Each level of the Rift is referred to as a Tier, and has been since the introduction of the Archives. This seems like a case of consumer misunderstanding.

it was always my understanding that each "page" was considered a tier. Myers getting 10% evil within isn't counted as it's own tier.
