Seems to be an issue specifically on all "perform cooperative actions" missions on the current tome. PC chiming in here.

It's doing it for that and Green Gylphs as well.

    Sad!

  • Flip Flop, No Mither, Tenacity, Unbreakable. In that combo

  • @ClumsyTrapper said:

It doesn't favor any category it's just the easiest to iri on than the other emblems because of the how Thier scored and the flow of a normal game. To pip you need emblem pts and each category can only give up to 4 pts

I thought like that too, until I noticed that every single game no matter how much I did, I would only black or depip unless I unhooked people. And to test this I went on unhooking duty got 3 unhooks and about 1 gen total completed, as mostly useless the rest of the game aside from that, and pipped up or was one point away from pipping up.

  • @Ripley said:

If it didn't more players would act selfishly. Why go for that unhook if I can get more points from hiding and doing gens? Same reason max gen points are reached after 3.

Except you aren't allowed to pip up and can even depip, as I said, unless you unhook people, no matter how long you run the Killer and no matter how many gens you do in that same game. Yes obviously it is to prevent selfishness, but it punishes you entirely too harshly if you do literally anything else that isn't altruism. That's the problem.

  • The state of the game is comically laughable. I haven't even encountered a cheater once yet and, naturally, I hope I never will because this game already inflicts enough psychological damage unto me as is.

I'm a Survivor main and I play Killer casually, only for Tomes and easy BP because I don't care about its MMR. I'm a relatively decent Killer but I'm not really anything special, but I'm Bronze right now and I've been getting matched with Red Ranks in about half my games, and one game they were even all Red 1's lmao. But I never tryhard so it's not a stressful experience for me, but I know it is devastating for other low-mid ELO Killers.

My Survivor games tell a similar tale but flipped on it's head. I'm hardstuck Red 2 ping ponging between R2 3 Pips and R2 4 pips because I keep getting matched with low Iron players or below that can't loop, can't bring themselves to do gens, refuse to take protection hits, hook rush just to get grabbed or downed, and refuse to let me heal them for seemingly no reason whatsoever.

As I mentioned in a recent post of mine, the survivor emblem system exacerbates all the problems with the game state (survivor side that is) and discourages everything that isn't altruism related.

  • I saw this title and know it was you without even looking at your username lmao

Ah yes get 4ks to show the devs that you're overpreforming which leads to more Killer sided nerfs and more Survivor sided buffs. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I depip AND I get Killer nerfs in the future for my 'trouble'? It's like a dream!

Thanks for doing something that is gonna make it harder for me to get into Killer, though.

  • Ah yes nerf the second and best counter to slugging so you can just slug everyone all the time and ruin their fun. Pick them up and counter it or leave them downed and don’t complain if they get back up.

Doesnt matter how important of a strategy slugging is “in these times”. Everything in the game should have a counter, including slugging because it’s extremely unfun and boring for Survivors.

Unbreakable literally only works WHEN DOWNED meaning it takes up a perk slot and is useless for 99% of the entire match.

Also, rarely even use Unbreakable anyway but I’m gonna start using it more since Killers like you, who only want to slug, exist. Unbreakable is only strong if you slug, so either don’t do it or don’t complain if a slugged surv just so happens to have it.

  • Okay, then the .5 seconds of invincibility needs to be changed to 1.5-2 seconds to account for latency (that already screws Dead Harders over anyway) and to account for not having to hope and pray you somehow get the knee jerk reaction split second invincibility frame to keep from dying.

Even though I think Dead Hard shouldn’t be changed anyway, this is the only way I can see any change happening if one is implemented.

  • It’s Pinhead calling it now.

  • NOED Killer’s know they suck and use the perk as a crutch, unless they’re doing a build that’s supposed to be toxic. Either way it’s either the player is bad or they’re a bad person.

But also either way I have Small Game and dozens of Rainbow Maps for a reason and I find it humorous to have Killers DC after they see their precious crutch perk not lighting up after the last gen pops.

I'm almost sure it's not "purposely" kept in. I've heard several times that there existed older spots that used to happen in, and they got patched out. Maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't make sense why they'd remove some and keep some "purposely" like that.

Anyway about the DH thing, yeah I somewhat feel it shouldn't be a thing. I get the whole point of the perk is to function like a brief immunity, but it does kind of take out the skill and timing when all a person needs to do is just know where a trap is and just blast completely through it. I don't personally have a ton of problems with that happening but I agree it at least doesn't really seem like a thing that should happen. Kind of just removes the usefulness of putting down the trap, and the skill of using DH.

No the trap clipping is purposely left in, in many places, I’ve seen several mods and devs confirm it as well as players who also read confirmations of it and discussed it.

And once again, hit boxes are broken as hell so Dead Hard is needed to counter that, and since hit boxes will never be fixed, Dead Hard will stay as it is.

Also there is no skill of timing since lunges literally are the distance of a Dead Hard and some Killers like Freddy and T3 Myers have an even bigger lunge.

Dead Hard is also a perk that can only be used while injured, is an exhaustion perk, and is useless against instadowns. Even if this game’s many flaws were fixed Dead Hard should still stay as it is. Most perks in this game don’t rely on skill anyway.

  • There are several things that don’t make sense yet are kept in the game. Like the fact certain parts of maps can make bear traps clip into the terrain and thus make them invisible, yet this “feature” is purposely kept in the game despite the fact that it’s not logical and is unfair.

Also this is a supernatural horror game with aura readings and stuff. Dead Hard is just David’s quick movements amplified by the Realm’s supernatural existence which gives him immunity in the moment because supernatural.

Also also don’t go around saying that dodging through bear traps extends a chase because it only barely does in most situations as now you can usually only run around where the pallet is. On the chance that you actually have another pallet to get to, that pallet usually ALSO has a trap in it.

Also also ALSO this game is so screwed due to broken hit boxes and latency that Dead Hard needs to be in the game to be able to counter that even though it barely even works with the aforementioned latency.

  • How many did you end up killing lol

That's only at high ranks. Low ranks is the exact opposite. Guess why.

Well I play on PS4 and when I was a brown rank Killer I instantly got into queues or waited only like a minute. Very odd...

  • That’s odd. Usually Killer queue times are super low because there is a shortage on people playing Killer, and survivor queue times are the long ass ones. So allow me to ask: What time were you playing?

If you queued at a good time then the queue times might actually be bugged now.

  • Actually, you only are expected to win 6 chases because not every Killer deserves a 4k every game (unless all of the survivors in your game are potatoes). Killers are supposed to get 2 kills per match because that’s the balanced and fair number.

However, in order to even pip up, you need to get the two kills after chasing them for as long as possible, maybe even hitting a stray survivor once or twice on the way.

So in short: not 12 chases because you’re expected to only win 6, but, the chases and kills will have to be dragged out in order to pip up because the emblem system is stupid.

  • Or maybe they didn’t want a boring 3 minute game and actually wanted to pip up by getting in chases or doing altruistic things.

It’s funny how you’d most likely be complaining the other way if they actually finished the last gen and escaped.

This player-base needs to learn how to not be biased, both ways, and need to stop jumping to far fetched conclusions such as yours.

  • Or, you could just counter it by baiting it literally every single time you’re in a chase and do what every single Killer who is good at the game does.

The people who rant about balance or changes are a tiny psychopathic narcissistic minority.

They spam the forums and act crazy.

The game is balanced around the middle ranks, non SWF. Because that is the vast majority of player base and income.

They should start to just accept that. And they should stop acting like this is an esports game and they would be professional gamers...

Tell that to the dude who made a long ass post saying that this WAS in fact a competitive game and not casual. But alas people will never shut up and never realize that this game cannot physically be balanced, and that people might as well stop expecting it to be.

  • Okay here’s a long as hell rant that I’m probably gonna make a separate post because I’m sick of this crap.

It’s funny because some Killers are using the nerf as an excuse to make the game miserable for Survivors (or at least attempting to) which is totally moronic and just shows that they really did want to camp/tunnel/slug/mori the entire time but never did because 1. It didn’t work or 2. It was frowned upon and now they’re just doing it because they want to have a hissy fit because their oh so precious crutch perk was changed. Even when they complained that “it got destroyed instantly anyway” meaning it was ACTUALLY a useless perk for them in that instance and that they wasted a perk slot. What sad human beings indeed, that try to have it both ways.

But makes no difference to me. As Survivor, I’ll just have some combination of Unbreakable, No Mither, Kindred, DS, etc maybe even make use of Slippery Meat and the several dozen Salty Lips I have to just unhook in campers faces. Maybe take brand new part and Engineers TB- Oh wait, no I won’t bring stupid items like that because it makes the game unfun for me and literally makes the game so fast that I don’t pip and thus I just wasted my life.

And what of Killer (that I actually recently find fun after having to do 3 Rituals for them)? I’ll just continue playing as Level 1 Killers with 1 perk and no addons and still get 3 or 4k’s against purple and red Ranks who do actually know how to loops pretty damn good whilst I’m in green ranks because matchmaking is busted.

And this is me not being a veteran Killer, mind you, and yet I’m still getting more kills than the “balance” kill and escape 2:2 ratio and yet Killers cry Survivor biased imbalance whilst bringing moris which rob survivors of a base game mechanic of having to be hooked 3 times to die, and thus getting an easy 4K with minimum effort.

But don’t get me wrong, I’m no survivor biased idiot who doesn’t think there are instances where Killers don’t get any hooks, much less any kills. Map layout RNG and pallet RNG can be broken as hell which is made better, or usually worse, depending on the Killer you pick and what tier they are. And while the RNGs usually favor Survivors, they can completely screw them as well. Keys are chance based on if you can find the hatch, but if you do then “haha Killer’s hard work was wasted.

This game will NEVER be balanced. Anyone who says differently if selling something.

It is physically IMPOSSIBLE to balance this game because of how it’s designed, not only because of the RNG (though that is a big factor) Survivors are severely, and I mean SEVERELY limited by their teammates. Just one “potato” teammate can easily make the game an instant loss for their team, while the Killer has no one else but themselves to rely on. Nothing can be done to the game itself to make survivors not potatoes. There is also the matter of perks and addons for Survivors and Killers alike that are impossible to predict ahead of time and so the Killer or Survivor might not have the best perk load out against that certain build, and thus their game could be lost before it has begun (but like I said even with 1 perk I can still get 3-4ks as Killer, same with with Survivor). This means that the game also relies too much on chance (not just RNG chance) to every be able to be balanced.

This game is unbalanced towards both Killers and Survivors, but the scale can be tipped given the certain situation.

  • Yes because map/totem/pallet RNG definitely doesn’t literally make or break entire games either for Killers or for Survivors. (Throughout this reply I’m gonna be saying only how it cannot be competitive but just wait towards the end to see how I can kinda share your sentiments).

Also the fact that some bugs are intentionally left in the game that shouldn’t (like Trapper’s traps clipping under the ground making them impossible to detect) is ridiculous and unprofessional and definitely in itself should make this game impossible to be competitive.

Also also there’s just the regular gamebreaking bugs and the connection/latency issues that are RNG in their own ways meaning you are hoping you don’t get screwed over by them.

Also also also, the fact that meta builds don’t matter if you can loop the Killer all game due to aforementioned pallet RNG or map also makes this game impossible to be competitive as skill no longer applies.

Even so; League of Legends is a shitshow of spaghetti code, broken hitboxes, and gamebreaking unbalanced champions that require no skill whatsoever and can 1v5 the opposing team whilst soloing objectives through sheer force of inflated combat stats (and now thanks to a recent update, gamebreaking objectives now exist too), and yet despite all of this, League is still one of the most competitively played games in the world (if not the most but I’m not sure). So I guess in some ways DBD can be considered competitive because games with similar issues like League are also competitive, but the fact that DBD is actually heavily RNG based can make the fame literally impossible to be competitive sometimes.

  • What about that other pallet on the Temple of Purgation map that spawns on one of the 4 archways of that square little pillar structure right outside of the Temple itself? You literally cannot loop that one and it’s unsafe af since there is only one pillar between you and the Killer.

Not buggy, just bad timing and user error.

To keep using Souls games as an example, using DH is like attempting to parry someone.

In Souls you gotta predict them and account for latency or you'll tank a hit to the face to have your opponent land his attack during your parry frames. In DbD you gotta predict the Killer and account for latency to have his attack land during your i-frames. Both are the exact same thing. Both are small time windows, both depend on latency, and both can end badly if done poorly.

Git gud in other words. Like it or not, this entire thread boils down to user error in you not having proper timings to use DH or failing to build personal skill.

Ah yes, the user error when you use Dead Hard, get hit, and still have exhaustion applied the split second after you get downed because you somehow got hit through the Dead Hard animation before the animation even had time to end.

If this is bait and not just lack of Dead Hard experience, then it’s pretty good bait.

  • Premonition should be buffed/reworked to reveal the Killer’s aura when you look in their direction for idk maybe 1/2/3 seconds(?) It should still have the same cool down and range though I think.

  • @ruler33 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/113628/why-do-ranks-rarely-matter-anymore

Ranks dont matter, but people still want to be in that 1 rank because they can be. and because not everyone can. tbh I used to want to get to rank 1 every season but I dont anymore..theres no point the killers are more try hard than any of the others. If they were to give a plus side to ranking up then yeah i'd agree with it. But I only play for BP now, Screw ranks.

I only decided to climb to be in Red Ranks or high Purple Ranks for the sole purpose of being able to enjoy games with challenging Killers and good teammates but it seems for the past few months, I have not and will continue to not have what I wanted and worked for, for most of my games and that pisses me off. It pisses me off that people can be so boosted that they got to where I am through luck and teammates carrying (or the Killer’s ineptitude), but when they are where I am they get smashed by an actually decent Killer as they can’t loop correctly or mind game. Or I get matched with a Killer who got spoonfed wins from brainless survivors and therefore makes my game overly easy and boring.

  • Yeah it should make the users start the match in the dying state

  • Yeah and the opposite is true for Survivors a lot of the time too. Hits will land when they should not, whether it be out in the open or through windows. Framrate drops and server lag screw both Survs and Killers, Dead Hard doesn’t work half the time (though I think this happens on PC too because of servers). Skillchecks are crappy as well. Console is just horrible for everyone lol.

@Dreamnomad how am I trolling my team by getting chased for three gens with no mither?

Clearly because you’re gonna get 1 hit downed bro and that’s cringe learn to play correctly and in the meta or else you’re a trolling loser bro.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

No Mither should get a rework. Bringing it is like trolling your own team.

Except it’s not, if you’re a good enough player and you have the right perks. Also with all the new slugging and slug builds going on, it’s really good for that as it throws the Killer off if they have that build.

And taking DS on top of No Mither will double counter the Killer when they down you again and know you’ll just recover, but then they try to pick you up to prevent that and then they take a DS.

Then if you take Dead Hard that’s a free wiff if you know how to use it.

  • @wisdomwielder said:

Regardless of how terrible no mither is, a perk that prevents bleeding should prevent blood orbs from dropping as well. I think this is an oversight on the dev's part and it should be fixed.

Like yeah by definition it shouldn’t leave blood orbs. But the fact that if a 4 man SWF can go in with all No Mithers against an Oni and make his power completely, uh... powerless, would be kinda broken. I would say that blood orbs should still be released but at like an extremely slow rate, and I mean extremely slow rate.

  • @ohheyitsbobcat said:

I mean, no mither is arguably the worst survivor perk in the game to the point no perk challenges are easier than no mither challenges. It benefits every killer in the game and it makes me happy to see it no matter who I play.

It should honesty be buffed to give 100% more survival points.

Edit: at the very least if one compares it to calm spirit vs doctor, then no mither should just drop less blood, not completely negate it.

No Mither is far from the worst survivor perk what the hell lol. It is kinda a meme but Killers can psyche themselves out and either over or underestimate a survivor running it especially if it’s a P3 David doing it.

It also prevents slugging (which is becoming more prevalent, which is annoying) and you can couple it with DS to reverse reverse counter the “slugging to avoid DS” strategy so then they pick you up and you DS them anyway or they try to camp your body or they just leave you because they don’t want to deal with it anymore.

Also even if No Mither was buffed to make less blood orbs appear from the user, it would have to be way way buffed because as long as you’re in a chase with The Oni, you’re giving him free orbs. Even not in a chase you’re still giving free orbs. So it would have to be like barely any orbs.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Please stop with the No Mither hate. It’s just a perk with particular uses, with often overlooked advantages that are counter balanced by a one hit state that needs to be considered before using it. It’s far from garbage, and intentionally taking a hit for someone being tunnelled FORCES the killer to hesitate and stop tunnelling because the killer doesn’t want to let you revive yourself.

I’m sure you’re not talking to me, and that you’re just talking about everyone who happens to reply to this post with ill will towards No Mither, because I like No Mither, it’s funny and kinda psyches the Killer out and can make them either be scared of you or underestimate you leading to mistakes on their part.

Also now with the ever increasing presence of slugging, No Mither coupled with DS is hilarious if you play your hand correctly. No Mither can act as more of a mind game than any mind game any single survivor or killer could conjure up.

I don't understand why the devs don't nerf it, tired of getting destroyed by 4 man No Mither squads, toxic.

    ( :D )

Reminds me of this game I had about a month ago. It consisted of me with 2 friends and we all ran identical Davids with only No Mither and Camping Aid Kits with the Antiseptic Syringe (or whatever syringe). The other dude was a P3 Jake with a meta build, hah what a loser.

I looped the Billy we got matched a long time and got hooked twice (on The Temple Red Forest map). And in the end, friends and I all escaped while the Jake got left behind because my group was all in the same Exit Gate.

No Mither is broken and did better than the job of 4 Perks and a toolbox on a P3 Jake plz nerf devs plz

Wrong. Madness will still be applied to you regardless of if you scream or not. So the Doctor's power is not completely nullified, its mostly nullified by about 90%. The Oni would be completely, 100%, unable to use his power at all if No Mither truly left no blood and no blood orbs.

Realistically, out of my 3.3k hours with at least 50% of those being survivor, I can tell you that if I get slugged, no matter the ranks whether it be brown, yellow, green, purple or red, at LEAST one of my team mates gets off the generator they are on to come try and save you, usually more than one; and if the killer is near, they usually don't even go back to the gen they were on. They sneak around waiting for a window to make the heal.

That is map pressure. It's half created by survivors.

Now that I think about it, I would say another type of boosted also applies but here: Teammates that don’t come pick you up, even without No Mither. When I get slugged, almost every single time the opposite has happened to me, than what has happened to you (even at Red Ranks): I get completely recovered and have to start crawling towards a teammate even if they are repairing right next to me and aren’t even close to being done with the gen.

But still once again, if the person fully recovers, you just wasted a chase. No amount of (realistic) survivor caused pressure will earn back the 3 minutes or more of that chase.

  • @The_Second_Coming said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/909206#Comment_909206

It's called map pressure. Eliminating one person from the gen fixing equation is inherently going to eliminate someone else from it as well, to come heal you.

So you didn’t read my comment. I have No Mither, so unless I’m matched with boosted teammates, they won’t come heal me unless the Killer is far away, which will probably be enough time for me to pick myself up.

Of course this strategy would work best in a 4 man SWF but that’s just tacky.

  • @The_Second_Coming said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/909172#Comment_909172

I fail to see why slugging is "dumb" when it's the only possible counter to a perk you have at your disposal.

Well it’s boring for the Survivor. I guess I meant “dumb” as in it’s annoying. It’s actually kinda smart for the Killer except for the fact there’s always the chance their teammates come heal them or they pick themselves up and that means you just wasted chasing the guy for 2 gens and are back to square one. And you’re slugging for the chance that the guy actually has DS. You’re gambling in a game that cannot afford you losing that gamble.

  • @Negan4891 said:

Its not wasting time for me. You would be helping me out. Cuz you making it harder on your team mates. Cuz they be worried about healing you.

How would it be helping you? I’m gonna loop you too not just sit there and die. Also any smart survivor knows No Mither let’s you pick yourself up and won’t go help a No Mither if they see you’re being slugged (unless they’re in super close proximity). They also know any survivor not moving towards then while crawling wants to pick themselves up.

This. I often use DS and Unbreakable together, but I'm quite happy when I don't get a "chance" to use them in a match. A match where neither DS nor UB gets used is usually a fun match even if I die.

Don’t know if you’re a killer who says this but what about the “Keep crying survivors just use Unbreakable if you want to stop slugging” argument? I’m making up for the flaw of the unbreakable strategy by also taking DS so if you do tunnel me either way I get away. Also Dead Hard is such a stupid funny perk that I can’t help to use it sometimes.
