Players are weird. They really are. They make up silly rules and expect others to follow them. I recently had a match where a player started flaming me because I ran NOED on Oni. Apparently it's a rule if a killer is capable of one-shot attacks they aren't allowed to use NOED. So from now on Hillbilly, Myers, Ghostface, Oni, and Leatherface aren't allowed to use NOED. Because.... reasons?
It’s just that using NOED on an instadown capable Killer is kinda silly and therefore is not expected. Like why use NOED on Myers and even more so why would you use NOED on the Oni anyway?
Not defending the dude who was complaining but it’s justbpeople find it odd to run NOED on an insta down Killers.
-
Because Killers like wasting a perk slot (only if they go against me though, because Small Game is funny).
-
Well some people’s metas are different from a “general consensus” meta.
My survivor build is Spine Chill, Iron Will, Dead Hard, and Small Game.
Now I don’t usually have anxiety but holy ######### Dead By Daylight gets to me every time if I don’t have Small Game because usually when I don’t cleanse every totem, there’s NOED. (Though Dead Hard isn’t really a must I just like it more because 1: I play on PS4 where latency is at its worse and 2: I can extend a chase slightly longer).
But Spine Chill and Iron Will are an absolute must have for me and are my true meta perks that I absolutely don’t want to enter a match without.
However it appears that Killers have a more uniform meta. Like BBQ and Ruin (and if they have Ruin they take Haunted Grounds) and most Killers take these perks. Certainly no BBQ will make the game harder for Killers than opposed to if they did have it.
So it’s kinda a matter of play style and what Killer is chosen.
-
No. Leave my meme perk alone lol, no buffs, no nerfs. But definitely no buffs.

Oh yes very true. My bad
And I’ll elaborate as to why it should stay the way it is for meme’s sake.
Long story short but still kinda long: me and 2 friends wanted to meme on the Killer so we all went only No Mither with Camping Aid Kits + Red Syringes (forgot the actual addon name) and were all identical Davids. The random we got matched with was a prestige 3 Jake with all maxed perks (forgot what exactly he was running) with an Engineers Toolbox with brand new part and Spool of Wire.
We got onto The Temple Red Forest map and I ran the Hillbilly around a bit and got hooked twice. But in the end all 3 of my SFW escaped and the Jake ended up getting sacrificed as we were all at the same exit gate and couldn’t save him.
Clearly No Mither needs a nerf cause it’s obviously way too OP.
-
No, keep No Mither as it is lol. It’s the best meme perk and I will not allow it to be ruined by a buff.

You know, you can plug remotes into PCs too. Alot of ppl playing on PC using a remote.
Yeah I know but the issue is my laptop sucks so much ass, even though it's new. It's just not a gaming laptop. I do use my controller when I do play but it's just too hard to play survivor at 30 fps.

I can't play killer on console anymore. I play on ps4 and It's very survivor sided. Seems everyone automatically goes into party chat when playing now. I've even had them send me invites by accident and I'm the killer. Nothing but tryhards that genrush and relay every move the killer makes, and once you do get them, they DC. Frame rate is just horrible during chases, and it seems like the killer is a lil slower then on PC. They really need to get a separate team to focus specifically on console so they get the same experience PC gets, and find a way to buff around swf's or com's so it's a lil more fair for the killer.
Long ago, I had Killers party invite me and all of the other survivors and we just do what’s basically a Kill Your Friends except with complete strangers.
Good times.
Also I can guarantee that PS4 players rarely jump into party chats with each other since I’ve had it happen to me literally only 4 times.
-
The only plus I find in playing on PS4 as opposed to PC is that it’s easier to look behind you while running with a remote than it is using a mouse and keyboard.
But yeah everything else you said pretty much sums it up.
-
No Mither starts the match with you in the dying state and makes you stay that way.
-
Not camping at all (coming from a Survivor main). You were just matched with some mega boosted survivors lol. Survivors that I usually get matched with when I solo queue...

But that takes away from the rng of a map. You got to the point of failing 2 escape options. The final one shouldn't be as easy as the first two. The killer should have an advantage.
Yeah but the thing is even two exit gates at the opposite ends of the map still don’t give the Survivor more of an advantage, it just increases their chances at surviving, but their odds are still slim, and the Killer is still on the winning side anyway.
Even though I’ve only recently began playing Killer more, almost every single game I’ve played I’ve been able to walk back and forth patrolling the Exit Gates with extreme ease.
You do not have to walk all the way to the Gates to see if they have any opening status progress. If one does show opening progress then you automatically know the Survivor is nearby and then if your know what you’re doing, then the Survivor is dead no matter what.
If a Survivor is spotted at any point in the EGC, they automatically lose (unless they have a key but you know what I mean).
The Killer will always have the advantage with EGC, even if Exit Gates are as far away from each other as possible.

@Carlosylu said:
It would be funny, but imagine how OP stalking with myers would be
Well what I was thinking is that hitboxes would remain the same, meaning if a Surv is crouching on their end, their standing up T Pose form would have a crouching hitbox, and therefore “stalkbox”. Unless Myers is programmed to be able to stalk the physical model of the survivors.
-
Yo, what matches have you had where Surv’s get near equal amounts of BP as Killers do because I want in lol. Every single game I’ve played, even when I double pip and max out every single BP category and the Killer gets a 3k or 4k I always, ALWAYS get less BP than the Killer by at least 7-8k BP.
Of course if the Killer gets 1k or 0k I get more but not that much more, especially if the Killer got several hits off and was in chases long enough. BP distribution is in no way equal, I don’t know what the hell lucky matches you’re getting lol.
-
Or the devs could just make Exit gates always spawn on opposite ends of the map.

They don't know how to nerf ds use that at will but borrowed time is definitely one they're gonna do something with at some point. Adrenaline is at risk.
Why would they nerf BT: A perk completely reliant on having a teammate to work? Survivors should be able to have a hope of getting away from a camping Killer/a Killer that is close to the hook post unhooking. This perk is a selfless perk and has no direct upside for the user. Why nerf it?
-
It’s because it usually does help bad killers get kills and robs survivors of their 2 hit downs on basic attacks, as most survivors will rely on the speed boost from getting hit to escape or at least distance themselves.
(Going off topic just for a sec bear with me) While it usually rewards bad killers, it can also reward killers that fall victim to absolute ass maps. People can try to one side arguments on gen rushing all they like but in actuality it can be broken for both sides. If survivors get a crappy map with crappy pallets and crappy gen locations, then they don’t get enough gens done and the Killer can snowball and that screws the survs’ chances of winning. If Survs get a good large map with infinities and amazing pallets and gen locations then they can get every gen done before anyone dies which sets up a fat depip for the Killer. The former is why many survivors gen rush, they don’t ever know how the game will go and want to make sure they can win so they want to complete their objective ASAP.
(Back to the actual topic) But that being said, the survivors kinda do get what they deserve as they decided not to cleanse totems. But THAT being said, totems are not a secondary objective and it’s kinda stupid that people refer to them as such. You do not have to cleanse totems to be able to escape, while doing gens is a must if you want to win. However cleaning totems sure does increase your chances at escaping depending on the hex perks the Killer has, especially if they have NOED.
And all of this being said: NOED or any other Hex perk is never an issue for me because I use Small Game every game and destroy every totem in about 3 minutes, Ruin and all.
-
The only thing I do differently is not be quick to unhook those who are super far away, especially if I’m on a gen.
Everything else I do normally.
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
whenever I play on asylum I swear there's always double pallets in the entrance
Idk I think you just have god tier luck (unless you’re playing Killer of course). Because I’ve never seen double pallets on that map, or literally any other map for that matter, except for the one I just mentioned lol.
-
So I’ve actually started playing Killer more recently because a few daily rituals got me to enjoy playing Huntress.
I went into a game not even expecting DS from a Laurie (big brain moment I know) and I don’t tunnel but the dude got unhooked right in front of me. So I eat a fat DS. But I ended up catching back up to her and downing her anyway.
I’ve never used DS as surv, but going off of what I see, the Killer usually just catches back up to the DS dude in almost every case.
So I would say just eat it to get it over with and rehook that guy, because DS is designed in such a way that you’re not supposed to have counter play to it and the survivor is meant to be able to get away (at least momentarily).
-
No, I like being able to use 15 Ormond offerings in a row as surv lol (idk why that map isn’t nun aesthetic I guess). If I get a map that I hate then I just say “f*ck me” and still play the game.
-
@Dreamnomad said:
Map offerings are fine. It's fairly uncommon to see them used. If a map is unfair to one side or the other then that is a problem with the map that needs adjusted.
(((Billy on Lery’s)))

I mean, I’m “immersed” when I want to be but I actually get stuff done. I cleanse every totem with Small Game. I hide when my Spine Chill goes off and then go right back to the gen I was working on.
But then I’ll also stick to a that’s about to be finished even if it costs me a hit. If I get bored at only doing gens I get the Killer’s attention and loop them.
But yeah most immersed players are the most brain dead idiots to exist. One game on Ormond we partially three gen’d ourselves and my two immersed “teammates” decided to either hide in a locker or try to go back to the EXACT SAME GEN I was continuously going back and forth repairing while Ghostface was patrolling instead of working on the other 2 gens that existed, including one in the Killer Shack that was far enough away to get positive repair work done even if GF kept destroying it. Purple Ranks btw.

Read the entire thing before you post.
Oh don’t worry, I read your entire 17 word post complaining about something that is completely countered by Spine Chill and a general understanding of how to pay attention to your surroundings in game. Did you even read it yourself before posting? Both my post and your own?

Spine Chill:

Or I could just continue using Small Game to cleanse every totem myself, every game, and have the Killer waste a perk slot.

Only No Mither with a Camping Aid Kit with a Syringe.

Best way to counter a Spirit is to run 4 No Mithers and all stick together. She wont know which direction to go during her phase.
No Mither soft counters all Killers, and hard counters instadown based Killers. The Spirit, therefore, is also soft countered.

@fluffymareep said:
ONLY No Mither, way longer than I could with any other perk
No Mither does nothing to help you loop. If anything, it was just pure luck.
The Jake ended up being the only one sacrificed as my SWF were all at the same exit gate, and the Jake didn't take the super [BAD WORD] OP perk of No Mither like the rest of us.
Could also be read as "No one was brave enough to venture out while injured."
All No Mither does is make you injured and lets you get yourself up if the killer is greedy. Most will see you're No Mither and won't risk it, though. So you essentially have a perk that makes you injured all game. It's only really good in sabbo builds and that's only if everyone's/most everyone's running it.
Nah dude. No Mither obliviously has some sort of extra "compensation" written in fine print somewhere, like a speed boost or maybe a forced latency on killer attacks that allow me to 360 and juke. There's absolutely NO WAY that it was just coincidence that me and my SWF running only No Mither escaped while only the fully perked Jake got sacrificed. Literally NO WAY.
Also, this was a purple rank (Rank 7 I think) Billy who most likely knew what he was doing. There's no way that match was all coincidence and luck based.
-
No. I cannot sit idly by, even as a survivor main, and let this completely broken strategy run rampant through the game.
-
@Rinthespooki said:
Pls nerf no mither users, i cannot slug them.
I know right? So stupid. The devs really are something else aren't they?

Usually I can tell if my teammates are going to be useless very early in the game. That being said, once I figure this out to be true I will proceed to get irritated (I’ll never be able to cope with that) and will begin playing only for pip points. This includes, but is not limited to, me farming my teammates to make sure I don’t de-pip, at the cost of them getting downed again.
Of course I’ll still do gens and loop the killer as well as cleanse totems (I cleanse all totems every game with Small Game anyway). But I will only loop after I get sufficient points in other categories.
If I happen to escape after all that, then that’s cool. But I only play for pips then and will go to any lengths to keep myself from de-pipping.
So not really a coping mechanism, more of a “now I’m forced into being a self centered /-\sshat” mechanism.
-
Two words: Spine Chill
-
The Demogorgon. Despite me thinking that he is kinda low tier, his chase music/terror radius and his roars make him “scary” to me. Even if I do end up looping him all game.
-
Just look at him lol.
But seriously. Use Spine Chill to avoid him/know he’s coming, then look at him when his back is turned and proceed to loop him.

Spirit is the hardest killer
Spirit is least skillful killer
Billy is trash
Billy is op
Selfcare is op
Selfcare is trash
You do yours. I consider the ALTERNATE options and stay with selfcare
I’m curious as to what you actually do build. Because Self Care does seem entirely situational but at the same time not due to several factors like teammate competence, Killer perks, your perks, play-style, and length of games.
It’s more of a perk that you need but don’t have or one that you have but don’t need.
But I just found it not as essential anymore because of Medkits with lots of charges, and because of my build.

@MyersIsPantless said:
Hm, weird, I don’t know why then because my spine chill doesn’t work against Myers but Premonition does
You have a bugged game then lol. Both Premonition and Spine Chill are supposed to work on every Killer now, no matter what, including T1 Myers.
-
@MyersIsPantless said:
FYI, it says spine chill only works with killers that have Heartbeats and that are undetectable, myers has NO heartbeat AT ALL in tier 1, but it will work if hes in tier 2 - 3.
It doesn’t say that though...? It says Spine Chill trumps any Killer’s stealth abilities. Plus in one of the Patch Notes (two patches ago I think) it says specifically that Myers T1 no longer affects Spine Chill and Premonition and they will activate as normal now.
-
@Feyd said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/102852/spine-chill-now-works-unconditionally
Spine Chill has the easiest counter ever. Moonwalk or stafe towards the gen and it never lights up.
But will the average, or even an above average/adept killer do that literally ever? Most likely no because obstacles exist and it's wasted effort, and they would never know if a survivor even had it during the game until afterwords. Also Spine Chill isn't only used for being able to get a head start at running away/hiding. That just happens to be a use for it. It's also used for hiding spots in general (as to maneuver around to not be seen) not only at gens. It's also good because of its action speed boosts, especially when getting last second heals in or last second exit gate openings in. T1 Myers countered it because he could do everything normally and never activate it.
-
@PistolTimb said:
I used to be an avid user of spine chill. It was funny to have it never go off and I'd just be sitting there wondering where the killer is... then I hear the Halloween tune go off and realize my mistake. The change isn't too crazy but I don't feel like it was necceasry. Myers was already undetectable in tier 1, so the undetectable status effect making him more detectable is honestly hilarious.
Yeah when I would be in games and not hear any terror radius and not get an activated Spine Chill for a whole minute, I would have an adrenaline spike I would instantly start carefully listening for mask breathing and frantically look around the fog to spot the Myers that was almost certainly stalking me. Even though Spine Chill should have always worked against everything regardless, as its description says. But yeah the fact that Undetectable now makes him detectable is funny af.

That’s ridiculous though. Spine Chill has been around for yonks. Killers coming across it before hand haven’t ever complained about it before, so why now?
Spine Chill gives survivors a small head start, IF they can tell which direction the killer is coming from. That’s it.
I've seen people complain about Spine Chill a few times. Be it only a few people. On the forums and in game. Those who have messaged me post game (even if they ended up sacrificing me) have called me a no skill noob for using it, though they never express why, and would either insult me when I asked for clarification or they just leave the chat or block me on PS4.
-
@Atrushan88 said:
Yeah. Alert became even more unreliable while Spine Chill, an already good perk became a lot more useful. Now that more people will be running Spine Chill, just wait until the wave of complaints come for it.
Yeah unfortunately people will complain, though I'm not sure why. Spine Chill's description literally says it's supposed to trump ANY stealth ability, and since it doesn't read auras (as Evil Within 1, I'm pretty sure, only says it trumps aura reading abilities), it should have been working unconditionally forever.
But c'est la vie...
