  • No they don't work that way. Need to kick the gens.

  • I had this exact thing happen to me last night. Was holding my power and got stunned by a pallet. I felt like I was a lot slower but I wasn't sure if I was just imagining it or not. Glad to know I wasn't.

lmao I didnt even notice till now

but I think its mostly so you can see your character more objectively for cosmetics? or an oversight... or a bug and only some people get it..... or we're going crazy..... probably the last one

It is like that in my killer screen also

  • @SilentHillOnDvD said:

I feel so weak with this killer. Playing him just makes my head hurt and annoys me. 3 months for this piece of trash? How do you do so good on blight but flop with 2 killers after him?

Yeah. I agree. Came here to add my voice that he is #########. This killer is literally garbage. He needs a buff now, not in a few months. There is no debate anymore. Legion? Clown? Pig?... NOPE! The WORST killer has been found. It is trickster. I'm not even gonna bother capitalizing his name. Why even play this killer when Huntress exists? Both the same speed, but when Huntress catches up she can actually injure with her power, Trickster has to get like 8 hits?? And the daggers are super precise for some reason?? Meanwhile Huntress throws whales???

I can't wait to get this guy leveled up, so I can never play him again and go back to killers that actually work.

Ive been forced to write this discussion now becuase ive had enough of the devs slowy murdering there own game..

i feel like im not the only one who feels this way and will have many people agree with me on this. Devs need to stop changing things that dont need to be changed!

If you dont know it by now then youve been living under a rock for the past 5 years..this game was changed 3 years ago or so to be more survivor freindly and give them a bit more power to live longer in the game but for a while now the game is now pro survivor freindly and have given them a bit too mutch power to the point were some of the killers arnt even scary anymore and some player go looking for the killer just to piss him off??? other problems with the game now are listed below and is fair reasoning to why the devs need to stop changing things they dont need to..

    For example:

Auras: remember a lil while ago when the devs make it pretty mutch inpossible to see auras?...yea me too.. me personally being somone with eye problems and many others who have blindness really struggled to play the game for a few days untill the devs were forced to change it back. (becuase they knew they ######### up)

Auto Haven: This map used to great and fair on both sides as some maps should be for killer and some should be for survoirs. But now...the new autohaven is just somthing else..for 1 its too dark to the point were you cant see bascally anything. 2 they have overdone it with so many decorations that u can barely walk 3 steps without getting stuck on somthing in a chase or other..

Mori: this one is just the cherry on the cake.. Mori used to be the only thing that could stop a toxic survivor ruining your day..but now the devs have done it again and taken somthing they DONT need to fix and ruined it in the process

dont get me wrong im very good at the game and mostly do survivor main and can be a toxic survivor somtime but i will admit that unlike most toxics who say they wern't toxic..and i dont like it when i get moried like everyone but i just get on with it when it happens..mori was put in the game for a reason to be a quick and easy kill if your really struggling to catch people. (espeshally if u have my luck and u get 4 toxics that u cant catch)

the point is the devs need to stop changing things that dont need to be changed

please comment or like if you agree with me in this becuase i know some of you are thinking the same.

No I completely disagree with you.

You're examples: 1. auras. you say the devs changed it back so your entire point here is mute. Why even bring this up if they already changed it back? Auras are fine. 2. Autohaven. These maps are bright as ######### for me... I don't use filters or anything, not even sure how you could think it's dark. Unless you were playing specific killers those maps were definitely survivor sides, not balanced. I love the changes. 3. Moris absolutely needed a change. To say that they are the only way to deal with a toxic survivor is just flat wrong. If you think that way then you just don't know what you are doing playing killer. Makes sense since you said you're a survivor main. I've always said it's the survivor mains who use moris all the time. Actual killer mains don't ever use them.

You're right, nobody is forcing us to use those products. Nobody is making me play the remake of resident evil 2 over the original. Nobody is making me play Overwatch or Paladins or whatever. Nobody is making me play New Super Mario Bros Deluxe Switch Edition, over the original one, except for me.

My point was that you can't blame it on the younger generation for being wimps when we're not the ones designing the games we play.

I understand your point. But ultimately you are the ones fueling the machine. If you don't like it then you should not buy into it. I hated cable tv and all its advertising, then netflix was created. I got rid of my cable and went solely netflix. Now look. Cable tv is going away, streaming is king. People came around to streaming and stopped buying into cable. Change takes time but it only starts when you make that first step. Blaming anyone will not get you what you want. Be the change you want to see in the world and others will follow.

Idk why people are blaming my generation for being used the products we consume. We're not the ones who create those products because, funnily enough, we are/were too young to do so when they were made. It's not the "younger generation" ruining things, it's that we're getting used to the products and features presented to us. Stop trying to make it an age thing.

But it's your choice to use those products. No one is forcing you. There are always people trying to get your money in life. This is especially true for the young as they are gullible, because they don't take the time to analyze the situation. There is a grain of truth to what they said.

So I posted this in the past and as for the topic it's happened again. This time with mori/keys balances rather than new content and content balances.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/124128/problem-with-the-update-was-the-timing-content

I saw and I know the mori are easier to fix before keys, but that's not the point. The point is timing and it would be better if it was both released at the same time rather than separately. Cause of this, it's created a big divide in the community and shows an big false narrative of "Survivor biased" to the devs. Seen streamers/fog whisperers mentioning this today also.

As a killer main with almost 5k hours I just disagree with you. The only ones dividing the community are people like you making these posts. You are the one pushing this narrative. Thank God they finally changed moris. Frankly the majority of streamers and fog whisperers do nothing but ######### and complain. I wouldn't actually listen to them.

I waited four years for them to change moris, I can wait a little longer for keys. It's not a big deal.

Nah, dude. I get merciless all the time. I don't like to kill people unless they're on their third hook. It's literally not hard.

    Lol. Doubt.

12 hooks doesn't equal merciless. Just shows you don't know what you are talking about. You can get 12 hooks and not double pip.

Imagine bragging about steam achievement percentages on a four year old game that regularly has free weekends, let alone right after its worst received patch in memory.

Imagine putting someone down for something you think doesn't matter. Why do you care then if the achievements are old? Let this person be proud of themselves. Are you 13?

  • @mintchapstick said:

What, like it's hard? Play enough matches and you're eventually going to 4k. I've 4ked in most of my matches with the twins, even against purple & red ranks & I only just now finally got perks besides oppression on them.

A 4k is not the same as getting adept. You may have 4k'd most of your matches but something tells me they were all brutal and not merciless. Anyone can 4k. Don't diminish the challenge of getting a merciless victory on a bugged out killer using perks that are also bugged while the emblem system itself is also buggy.

  • Would you be surprised if they were?.... I don't know if they are or not. I'm just sharing my own experience. I heard the notification, I saw the chest image show up, I saw the pick up image show up. If it doesn't work then how am I finding people in the basement?

    With victor

    1. He can't pounce up any type of slope, doesn't matter how minor

    2. He has the chance to fall through the ground

    3. He has the chance to get stuck in the ground, where he shall remain for the rest of his days

    4. Can now touch people in lockers, poor dwight mains.

    5. Can be kidnapped for 45 seconds, and through hatch without a promise of child support income.

    6. Can camp like a pro, he packed gear and everything.

    7. Can float on a survivor he is attached to, same with Charlotte. Victor decided he was too cool for the ground, and ascended to a higher plane of existence to avoid it.

    8. Victor is too lazy to stop survivors from leaving through the exit gate

    9. Victor's killer instinct for dying people is inconsistent. Sometimes reveals those on a hook too.

    10. Victor can get stuck in his falling animation, which can only be stopped by being kicked by survivors.

    11. Idle animation is bugged in lobby

    12. FOV can be stuck at 45°, same for charlotte.

    13. Victor does not move corn or grass

    With Charlotte

    1. Can have a black screen if you switch too fast, switch again to make it go away

    2. Can get stuck in the ground like victor, at least they're together

    3. Her power can be taken away for 45 seconds

    4. Takes too long to wake up after playing victor

    5. Apparently can't get points from BBQ, bubba decided not to share any chili with the twins.

    6. devout emblem is currently bugged, no adept twins for you buddy.

    7. Purple cosmetic is locked as a set, despite trailer stating otherwise.

    With perks

    1. Hoarder just straight up doesn't work

    2. Deception has the chance to not work in high ping ( cries in ps4 )

    3. Power struggle no longer works with flip flop, No free pallet stuns for you meghead.

    4. Power struggle can cause you to become one with a pallet

    With flashlights

    1. Now has sway for some reason? Get better hands I guess??

    2. Blinding angle is off, to compensate for this the killers eyes have been adjusted 5 feet to the left.

    With Legion

    1. legion lost their movement speed in frenzy. Look for funny comment below.

    2. Rumors state legion has a lunge range in frenzy as short as your [BAD WORD]

    3. The mask now defines what gender the legions voice is.

    Miscellaneous

    1. The usual framerate issues everyone has (it's been 2 years where is the optimization?)

    2. Hillbillies chainsaw randomly over heats, probably due to barely legible directions on tuning guide.

    3. Sometimes shack pallet is unbreakable ( can apparently be broken on one side ? )

    4. Blood warden doesn't prevent survivors from leaving... again

    5. Clown now has a delay between throwing a bottle and lunging. He could hit them, he just chooses not to.

    6. Freddy can't place puddles in doorways

    7. Mikey's chase music doesn't stop playing for a couple seconds after a survivor is downed.

    8. Killer now hears survivor pov chase music, for those who have original chase music. Doesn't affect those where the track is the same on both ends.

    9. Sometimes grass disappears at a distance

I'm sure I'm missing some, feel free to add to the list! Any contribution shall be added to the list in future edits.

An awesome list! You have everything that I found and so much more. I'm just confused on one thing. I've been running hoarder for the adept for a bunch of games and it worked all the time. I found many, many, people using that perk. Saying that it "straight up doesn't work" is completely false.

  • I absolutely think something needs to change about Freddy. Maybe pallet snares base kit, maybe not. But he is just not fun to play against. Ever. People are literally just killing themselves half the time I get a Freddy. His base kit is honestly insane, then for some reason all his add-ons are for slow down, so naturally every Freddy is using ruin/undying now.

I've also stopped playing him as killer. I play all the killers on random rotation usually, so for example I'll go from a clown match, to nurse, to Myers, to oni, and then when I switched to Freddy it just felt like switching from a pistol to an ak-47. It's not even fun anymore. It's like hunting for deer with a rocket launcher, it's cool for a second but, where's the sport in that? There's no skill in winning as freddy, his power is to bloodlust everyone to death with a side of teleport directly to the survivor objective.

I'm finding more and more that I am getting put into matches with red rank killers (usually rank 1 or 2) when I myself am only a rank 7 survivor. Because their gameplay is so much more advanced than mine, I'm finding it really unenjoyable (it's at a point where I wonder why I still actually play the game... and I think it's more because of the money I spent than the enjoyment I get from it!). Does anyone else feel like the matchmaking is completely out of whack, or am I just overreacting?

Hey bud, I am one of those rank 1 killers that keeps getting low ranks in my games. Sorry about that. Please don't let it discourage you from playing. There's a lot of boosted rank 1 killers right now who think they're good because they use ruin/undying. I will say in my defense I can't tell the difference in the lobby of a rank 1, 4 man swf from 4 rank 10s. Kinda sucks I have no idea who I'm facing until the game is over. I often wish I could know ahead of time if players were going to be sweaty or chill. Im used to playing at the highest level so when I play "normally" it may seem like bullying. Which is why I wish I could know. If I did I could play in a more fun way. Many games I come in prepared for war and halfway through I realize they are babies. I switch things up, let them get more points, get gens done, give one the hatch, etc. But the truth is if I ease up at all, I will get steamrolled by good survivors. This is why it may seem like killers are bullies, they know how quickly they can lose to a good team and you can't really know if it's a good team until it's to late.

Also in regards to match making, you are rank 7, the system matches players "within six ranks" of your rank. So in truth you are in range for getting rank 1 killers.

My best advice, set a goal for yourself, work towards it, stop thinking about rank, and just try to do the best you can each match. That's what I do. So even when I die I still pip. I get saves, I commit to gens for my team, break all the totems, open all the chests, my goal is progress and death can't stop that.

Did you not read what I typed. Good survivors would always go to infinites if they could. Sometimes you HAD to BL it.

Of course I read it. You still don't get it. But keep taking bad chases and wasting your time on strong loops, that's just what they wanted you to do. The fact you even took the chase was a mistake. You catch someone else elsewhere and when they go for the save they don't have their safe loop anymore. You need to get good players out of position not play into their hands. Make them play into yours. I only ever ran those infinites when everyone else was already dead.

  • @Kolonite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1769207#Comment_1769207

bruh people would run to those infinites every chase and at every opportunity and there were lots of them. Not having BL now doesn’t affect me at all, but to say that the people that used to have to use it are bad because survivors would run to the infinite every chance they got is whack.

No it's not. That's just bad map design which is being addressed. I've played since beta man I know how those chases went. I was there. If you followed survivors to loops you KNEW were infinites and wasted your time.... You were letting the survivors win. You are deciding to do something you know is a waste of time. That is absolutely a misplay. Bloodlust isn't even a factor when you decide to chase at an infinite. Chasing infinites is and always will be a bad play.

  • @Kolonite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1767740#Comment_1767740

I disagree with it always being for poor killers. It was added when the game had actual infinites.

Yeah I know why it was added. But if you were wasting your time getting looped at those infinites long enough for multiple bloodlust levels to kick in.....you are a poor killer. Simple. Even getting looped there for one level to activate is wasted time. Bloodlust only activates when YOU have let the chase go on for too long, which is clearly bad killer play. Getting rid of bloodlust hasn't affected me at all, I'm still getting 3-4ks, because I never had it activate before anyway. You don't need bloodlust if you move optimally.

  • @LordTohes said:

I do not understand why they removed the bloodlust in the game, I am used to seeing ridiculous things from the devsbut I think that with this they already exceeded. The time a survivor goes around a structure is tripled or more, and in school they can easily give you 3 laps before you can hit them. I do not understand what is the meaning of wanting to ruin the game and to touch something that did not have problems, there are many problems in the game but they decide to modify something that does not have problems, why?

Why? Because bloodlust was a band-aid fix to bad map design. But now that maps are getting reworked, the need for bloodlust is going away. On top of that, bloodlust has become a crutch for a lot of people. I for one hope the change stays.

  • @nytkim said:

Considering most maps are unbalanced around loops, killers like Wraith and Trapper will be basically useless with this mechanic gone. On the other hand, we will see more and more of Spirit, Freddy, Pyramid Head and Deathslinger.

Which killers do you think are affected the most and that will never be played again?

Well you are wrong about the maps first off. And as more maps get reworked your statement becomes even less true.

I played trapper and wraith last night, both 4k. I'm still rarely going to play spirit, freddy, or ph as they are easy handout killers. I like a challenge not have the game handed to me.

Blood lust is for trash killers. Always has been. Git gud.

  • @gamblor6 said:

I’ve just been thinking for a little bit and spies from the shadows might be better than whispers I wanna test it out but I just wanna hear from you amazing people

Spies is no where near whispers imo. After finally unlocking every perk on every killer, testing all kinds of builds on each killer....I run whispers on every killer. It sits in fourth slot on every killer and It doesn't come off anymore. I would argue that whispers is even a better choice than corrupt intervention as well. The best part about whispers is that it allows you to locate people quickly at the start of the game and at the end of the game. You want to start the killer/survivor interactions asap when the game starts and when there's only one person left or a three gen situation whispers is there for you. Is there someone in this locker next to this gen that has a lot of progress? Nope whispers is off so I know I don't have to check. Damn this exit gate is far from the other one but whispers is on so I can just defend here instead of wandering back and forth, if it turns off I know they snuck away to the other exit. Is it safe to place this trap? Whispers off, I know no one is watching. Should I waste time kicking this gen? Someone might be hiding near by...? Nope whispers is off, you can kick it and no one will touch it for a while. I'm sure I could come up with more.

Whenever I have used spies it's going off when the survivor is already in my face. But it has been a while since I used it. After typing this I think it would be interesting to replace whispers with spies in my current builds and see if it has any effect. I always like testing new things and that sounds like a fun experiment. Unfortunately I seriously doubt I will change my mind on whispers.

  • I completely agree. I'm constantly getting matches where I'm rank 1, the killer is rank 1, and then there's three purple rank or lower console players. Almost every game I feel like it's me vs the killer and Im having to take care of my team all match.

A side note, this is another reason I hate the DC penalty. Its impossible to kill myself on first hook when I have 3 teammates crouched around the hook not doing gens. The killers see what's happening and refuse to kill me or hook me, forcing me to stay in the game. When I complain to the killer about wasting my time slugging me all game, his response was that I should just DC.........

But I can't DC because of the penalty and now I can't kill myself most times because of bad teammates.

  • @NotACompPlayer said:

Well people seem to not understand my initial point. The point of the post was that no matter how strong the loadout the opposition brought into the match, you can always win by simply being better at the game than them, despite the fact that there could be a balance issue, it can be overcome with skill. I never said that complaints about gameplay being unenjoyable are irrelevant, the whole point of video games is having fun after all, the whole topic was supposed to be balance.

I think it's just that your point is flat out wrong. Its pretty ignorant even. There are many factors that go into winning a match and just saying "play better" doesn't reflect any of that. Not to mention many have a different opinion on what a win condition even is.

  • @GoshJosh said:

Another archetypal BHVR move. 'We have a PTB, but let's just throw this into live with a couple days' notice!'

Certain killers cannot do anything at particular loops, such as the cow tree loop on Coldwind maps. As someone else said yesterday, proof BHVR does not play their own game.

Bloodlust wouldn't help you at cow tree. I've never, ever, had to bloodlust anyone there. If you need bloodlust you are a bad killer. Simple as that. BHVR knows what they are doing and your comment shows that you don't. I watch the devs play their game all the time.

  • @SaltyNooty said:

So, to keep it short; the killer isn't straight face camping but they're terror radius camping. Its like they won't face camp you, but they won't let you out of their terror radius.

For the record, this isn't a strat; it's a crutch, muchlike NOED. This usually leads to tunneling, Slugging, and or straight face camping when the killer fails. I don't know why people call it a strat to win if you have to resort to camping yo get a kill; it's lowkey pathetic if you have to resort to that. It's not every day that I see people tunneling, face camping, or just going so low just to get a kill but its the ones who do that get really get me.

Usually, I see that in lower ranks and that's very often. I haven't been running into NOED often but I HAVE been running into campers and tunnelers. For the record, it doesn't make you any less of a bad killer if you have to resort to camping and tunneling to get your precious 4k; and no, again, it's not a strategy to win, it's a crutch.

A strategy is a plan something THAT you think up and roll out. To getting a better definition; this is what the dictionary says.

Strategy - Noun - a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim.

Camping does NOT fall under this pretext because you didn't plan it out, you just said "Okay, so I suck or I want my 4k so I'll resort to just making the game unfun for everyone and get what I want." That's right, I'm calling ya out on it. So, don't try to call it a strat.

Back to my main focus, Terror Camping. Yeah, so this lowkey ain't really fun for many because if you don't have deliverance; you're screwed. It basically says "That's right, I'm camping and i'll slug you if you Come any closer." This apparently works out with killers like myers, ghost face and stealth killers in general. This leads to the survivor being put in the second phase, The team rushing the killer, the survivor gets tunneled and it's an easy kill for the killer; again, not a strat, it's a crutch. I've seen people DC from this either because that killer is tunneling them and has a Mori, or because they were basically tunneled the whole game. *Not fun.* Can we work to avoid doing this?

"Strategy - Noun - a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim.

Camping does NOT fall under this pretext because you didn't plan it out, you just said "Okay, so I suck or I want my 4k so I'll resort to just making the game unfun for everyone and get what I want." That's right, I'm calling ya out on it. So, don't try to call it a strat."

By your own definition it is a strategy, but you just go on to twist the situation to suit your salty needs. This is what happens more often, "Ok I just hooked that nea and I saw one person on a gen far away with bbq, the other two must be nearby since I didn't see them, I'll look for them." Or more straight forward. " I am going to circle this hooked person because I know someone will come to save them, then I will chase that person." How is that not a plan of action that achieves a goal?

You would have to be willfully ignorant to not see that. I don't care about your camping argument either way but at least make valid points. Not ones that are clearly tailored to suit you. Just because a strategy is scummy doesn't make it NOT a strategy. And FYI the community calls it proxy camping, not terror camping.

  • It's hard to say a percentage honestly. Im getting close to 5k hours, equal killer/survivor time, all solo. I escape most of my games regardless of my teammates. But I die a lot too. I mean I can't help getting tunnelled off hook and my team doesn't have BT, or the moris I get in a lot of games. I also never run DS. I run adrenaline, borrowed time, any means necessary, and we're going to live forever. Any means is a recent addition but I'm finding it to be really helpful. Saving pallets from my teammates bad plays and I like the fact I can throw pallets myself with less fear as I can just save them. Also helps in chase, killers almost always break the pallet when I try to pick it up in their face, breaking the pallet removes bloodlust so I almost never get bloodlusted.

As a killer you play 1 against 4. Everyone knows this. Took me a while to realize solo survivor is also 1 against 4. You need to analyze your team as you play. And some times you need to know when to let people go. If your own play style doesn't mesh with the other players you're just going to have a bad time.

So are they all being stealthy? Don't rush to gens because you will get chased the most since the killer probably won't find them. Being loud while your team is in stealth mode just makes it easier for the killer to tunnel you. If you're the only one they can find it's kinda your fault for not playing along, at least a little bit. It is important to get on gens as quickly as you can, but I usually give it a second at start of match, find a vantage or line of sight, count to 10, watching your team, seeing what they do, then decide your course of action.

Are they all rushing to get unhooks and no one is ever on a gen? Someone needs to be on a gen at all times, better get on one because they certainly aren't. Or is it the opposite and no one goes for saves because they are all scared? You need to fill the roles your team is leaving empty.

Analyzing your team's play style as a solo is just as important as figuring out the killers perks and play style. A lot of times I commit to gens or make crazy plays based on faith in my team from watching how they have played. Or I knew that my team was throwing or playing poorly, so I rush gens, getting as many done as possible so I can exit out the hatch when they die. Which leads to my next main point.

It's also really important to understand the hatch mechanics as a solo player. Having faith in your team is one thing but knowing your team isn't going to make it is another. You need to be ready for when they all die. I'm not telling you to go camp the hatch and not work on gens. Don't be that person. But knowing when the hatch appears on the board, finding it ahead of time, has saved me so many times. Having that information can tell you if you should go for a door play or straight for the hatch.

So has the killer seen the hatch? Have you seen the hatch? If you know the answer to those questions escaping becomes a lot easier. Just remember 2 people alive, 2 gens left, hatch appears, and, 3 people alive, 1 gen left, hatch appears. If you go to the hatch for a standoff with the killer, face to face, and they do not hit you, RUN. They know how the hatch works and you won't make it through. The killer has priority to close the hatch in that situation. If they do try to down you on the hatch however, they are stunned for a second from the swing, losing their collision, and you can spam m1 and escape, provided it opened.

Sorry for how long this got or if you knew any of this already. I try to write for any new players that may read this.

  • I find PH pretty annoying to go against as well. That being said I have had some pretty long chases against him so there definitely is some counterplay. My gripe with him now is the change they made to his cage. Originally, when he caged you he could see the cage aura across the map. People complained that this allowed him to tunnel so they removed it. But they changed it so that when a survivor gets rescued from the cage there is a loud noise notification, the same as any failed skill check or fast vault. When they did this, tunneling increased 100%. Every time I get caged the PH comes to check out the noise, every time.

We all know how killer games go. Find your first survivor, he runs in circles for 3 minutes, all the gens get done and they escape with Adrenaline/BT/DS/DH. This has become so bad that there are only 2 killers (Sally and Rin) that can consistently perform well in Red Ranks if they want to double pip and retain their Rank 1. Even worse - Rin was broken last update so unless you were Nurse your pip was a heavily weighted coin toss. Some killers such as Caleb and Triangle Daddy can sometimes beat a strong Red Rank SWF, but can't compete if they use the Genrush Strategy.

This is why I think the game should try and cut down on this stupid running in circles strategy to win every game without thinking. Instead, we should focus on the Stealth aspect of the game. I think most survivors (who aren't pathetic bullies) can agree that the suspense of a killer almost finding you in a hiding spot is far more thrilling than running around a pallet 10 times rinse repeat. The fact that there are 10+ pallets which can each last from 30 seconds to a few minutes (Bloodlust takes way too long to kick in) pushes the "chase killer only" meta that has plagued so many players into only playing Rin Sally and sometimes Caleb.

We want to play Amanda and sneak up on survivors.

We want to play Anna and line up a sweet hatchet on a Zarina who didn't quite hide well enough.

We want to play Lisa and scare survivors with our Phantasms.

But we can't - because the meta right now is looping, and any killer that doesn't excel there isn't viable.

Yeah my games don't go that way at all. Why are you chasing the first person you find for so long? If you can't get someone quickly you should be pressuring the people working on gens.

I play all killers at rank 1 and rarely feel the need to use spirit or nurse. FYI you don't need to double pip to maintain your rank, just a black pip, so not sure why you are saying that you have to "double pip to retain your rank 1." That is just not true.

I crush people as pig on the reg.

I throw sweet hatchets at people who are clueless.

I don't usually play hag because it's too easy and everyone hates her.

To be honest you sound inexperienced. The issues you are upset about go away when you get better at handling the different tile sets. "Any killer that doesn't excel (at looping) isn't viable." Just not true at all. Looping is but one strategy and it has many counters. Go play the killers you want, I say, and figure out how to shut those loops down. It is absolutely possible and you don't need spirit or nurse.

  • I'm just stuck on the fact you think purgation is the largest map. It is not. Mothers dwelling is the largest.

  • Natural light is better. Get rid of all these colors.

  • The devs have already said the yellow aura is staying. They want the survivors to know that something is happening. Otherwise it's just boring and there is no counterplay. I agree.

  • @Pulsar said:

    Disagree.

The problem is not the controller's, but rather the FPS.

People have ZERO problem being amazing at CoD or Battlefield on Console. The issue is that they are simply given less time to react to new information.

When my game literally freezes when someone uses Dead Hard, even if I predict the Dead Hard, I cannot capitalize on what was a good read because the game is poorly optimized on Console.

I am sympathetic to the Devs plight, many things to do and not enough time to do them, but it is really discouraging and disheartening to see that Console's haven't really gotten that much love, even though it was promised years ago.

Good points. I would wager part of the problem is that they have been preparing for the new consoles over the old ones since that is going to be the norm moving forward. From a business standpoint it just makes sense to optimize for the future. All these lower quality consoles will phase out over time.

Well you say this but there's a reason a full 4 man swf never runs UE lol

The problem with UE is that it's typically run by players who don't use their time efficiently.

At high ranks seeing a Urban Evasion and Self Care player is amazing as killer. Basically a 100% guaranteed win unless they are actually good players trolling the killer into thinking they're bad.

I have 4k hours in the game. Just started using UE recently for luls and it's legit really strong. Ive dipped out of so many chases mid chase. Made some amazing BT saves against camping killers. If you use a perk effectively it is good. I play killer at rank 1 and it's definitely not a 100% win like you claim. Even self care can be amazing when used at the right time. And of course a 4 man isn't going to use it, duh. They don't need it because they are all running the same meta perks.

There is no problem with urban evasion. Do you know how many times I've seen survivors dead hard or sprint burst into a wall??? It's not the perk it's the person using it. Urban is no different.

I respect your opinion, but how is playing against a killer like clown fun and interactive. I probably should've pointed out in the fun that the boring part is in terms of getting chased. I'm talking about the killer survivor interaction. My bad for not mentioning that. But in terms of killer-survivor interaction, fun is subjective, but not that much. Going up to a pallet over and over cannot be fun if you are looking to outplay your oppent. You running up to a pallet and dropping it immediately does not require skill. It may require knowledge, but not skill. I can make a case of the other killers but I want to talk about killer-survivor interaction of clown. There are fair guesses, and unfair guesses. A guess as to if the huntress will raise a hatchet will she approaches the pallet or run through it like a mad man is a fair guess and either side can outplay the other equally and fairly meanwhile guessing where a spirit which side of the loop where she will appear when she can hear you and know where YOU are, that is very unfair imo. I haven't talked about this issue on the forums, only on discord and youtube comments (yes im an idiot). And also the reason people enjoy getting intimidated in chase is because they don't have a full understanding of how a chase works in the first place, or they simply do not want to learn. Once you learn how to chase, it becomes more of a matter of reading your opponents, using knowledge of the maps and tiles to your advantage and taking advantage of the killer's mistakes. I have yet to find a survivor that know what they are doing in a chase and is intimidated by this game.

You seem to be stuck on this idea that there is only one way to counter clown. Trust me only babies run to pallets and just drop them. That is not the play. Maybe that's why you don't like clown, because you only try the rank 20 strats. Tbh YOU sound boring to me. You never try new things just the same strategy every single time.

If I had to sum up trapper in one sentence, it would be the following:

"This should not work, it is not working, and now everyone is somehow dead."

Trapper is one of the only killers that can go from "oh no the gens are popping" to "oh no their heads are popping" in less than a second, and it makes him really hard to balance around. I have had games in which it ended in less than three minutes and I have had games in which the survivors kicked my ass for 3/4 of it before three of them are now dead in basement and the last one got hooked before they could escape.

This is caused, in my opinion, by his strength in his addons. His base kit is pretty terrible, but the second you but a bag addon on, especially the purple one, you go from barely being able to keep a building under control to being able to put traps everywhere. Adding on to this, Trapper has four of the strongest addons I have seen the game, those being the bloody coil, the iridescent stone, the honing stone, and the tar bottle. Every single one of these addons makes traps way more dangerous, especially the honing stone which makes it so that even if you are busy with something else, you can still get someone downed from a trap.

This puts trapper in a very weird position, as he is always just four steps away from having everyone downed. At the same time, he is also very bad at holding gens as it is very easy to disable his traps. So how would I try to fix him?

I would nerf the addons like the honing stone and the bloody coil, but give him more trap capacity by default and most importantly, give him a bow. Let me explain. The biggest problem with his kit is that he lacks range and if a survivor does not need to head to an area they know is trapped, they will not. The bow would serves as a way to force survivors to head into trapper areas, maybe inflicting exposed or a deep wound. It would be a trade off, but I think it could help fix how this character goes from worse than clown in one second to hooking everyone the next.

Please, tell me more dumb stories about trapper and also some more ideas for how to rework the OG killer.

Trapper is fine the way he is. He just needs brown bag base kit. A bow is a terrible idea he is not a huntress.

You said it yourself even though you don't realize. Sometimes you win big, sometimes you lose big. That is called balance.

His add-ons are not that strong. I don't know why you think those four you listed are strongest but they are not. Of course they make his traps more dangerous... They are add-ons...should they make his traps weaker?

You make it sound like the trapper being good sometimes and bad others is his fault. You are the one controlling him. You are the one doing bad. Trapper is not worse than clown. The fact you say "worse than clown" kinda tells me your experience level. Clown gets 4ks.

Let's play out your idea for two seconds. Trappers caught you, he's taking you into the basement, he traps all the entrances, now he stands there with his bow pointed at his traps, so now he can deny all vaults while protecting his traps from range..................... yeah that sounds like soooo much fun, not OP at all

  • They won't add an fov slider. It is a core design choice. You can increase your fov if you want with the perk shadowborn. That perk was added for the people complaining about an fov slider. They did this to ensure that everyone is getting the same experience when playing.

If they haven't added it in 4 years for the PC players... Do you actually think they will put it in for console?? No.

Haven't been winning much games lately, running hex ruin and hex undying but they're more or less useless most games. What happens usually is : i find a survivor, chase him for a normal amount of time, catch him and put him on a hook. Great, while I was doing that 3 gens have been done and my game is lost. I'm not the best killer but I feel like unless I catch a survivor in 10 seconds, I literally don't have time to prevent gens from being done. Any advice ?

You're on the right track. If you don't down that survivor in 10 seconds move on. You said it yourself you chased someone and let the other survivors do gens. You didn't pressure the gens. You can't get gens back, but that guy you let go can be chased again. Instead of commiting to the first chase, get a hit and move one to gens or force a pallet drop and move on to gens. They will go heal wasting resources and time. You want to get rid of pallets so they have less and less resources. Think of it as trading. In your example you traded a ton of time for 1 hook state. Basically a couple gens for 1 hook. That's not worth it so why commit to that. But trading a pallet or a hit for a small amount of time, doing this over and over to all the survivors, compounding the pressure, builds into a "snowball" and everyone dies or the team breaks.

I disagree about the Chucky part. I think that could make him unique and fun, instead of being a normal-sized human walking towards you normally. They even shrunk Demogorgon down to fit. Boring.

In exchange for being hard to locate, Chucky could have to climb up a person to actually start damaging them, maybe survivors could get him off by vaulting, and maybe a pallet stun could kill him dead.

No they made demogorgon bigger than he was in the show.

Either they are massive supporter of him and will always defend him no matter what, or they absolutely despise him and would quit the game if he got in.

Sure there are people in between, by there's very few of them I've seen.

Honestly is there any other character as decisive as him?

Considering I have never even heard of springtrap until I read this post...... No he is not decisive at all. Looked it up and you are talking about five nights at freddy.

No. They will not add that into the game and the reason is simple. Fnaf is not definitive horror. Barely anyone even knows of it. I had to Google what you were even talking about. It won't bring in large revenue. Anything the creative team at BHVR can come up with will be 1000 times better anyway. So no he is not decisive at all since there is no decision.

FAIR WARNING: THIS IS A RANT. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO READ A RANT THEN IGNORE THIS.

'Just a bug' lol. We're so desensitized to bugs being introduced with each and every patch that we don't even care anymore. The severe lack of polish that this game has is just ignored on the daily because there's nothing else that can really satisfy that dbd itch. Anyhow, the lack of a unique terror radius could actually make a difference in terms of gameplay. It could mean the difference between you successfully dodging a static blast or getting found 10 seconds in. Plus, like the op, I enjoy Doctor's chase music so it being bugged is upsetting. At the end of the day, the bug isn't too bad (unlike the plethora of other bugs e.g. Pyramid head's soundbug that makes me not even want to play my favourite killer) but that doesn't mean that the op doesn't have the right to be annoyed. If I'm not mistaken, Behaviour is a multi-million dollar company. The least they could do is actually test for bugs. I mean c'mon, that horrendous fps bug that us PS4 players suffered through for about a week could've been found and resolved BEFORE the mid chapter went live if they simply booted up a copy of dbd with the patch version on a PS4 and realised there was an issue. I could be wrong but it seems to me like they just didn't check or worse, knew about it and still pushed out the mid-chapter on schedule. Doing so with full knowledge that it would ruin the game for a sub-section of the community.

Personally I think complacency is the reason why Behaviour gets away with this. Imagine if Ubisoft broke the game every time they released a new patch in siege or for honor. People would throw a fit, but because this is a smaller company, they're allowed to wreck the game with each and every patch. Let's just ignore the fact that games with even fewer devs have 10 times the amount of polish that dbd has i.e. Their games actually work as intended most of the time with few bugs.

Apologies for the long rant but complacency towards the constant introduction of numerous new bugs is the reason Behaviour keep pushing out patchs filled with more new bugs then bug fixes, lol. If you got this far then I'm impressed, have a nice day and be safe out there.

It's not complacency. It's understanding. I understand that the game is very complicated. There are a lot of things going on here that can't be addressed all at once. There is only so much a human can do in a day. Add on covid challenges and that makes things take even longer. This is a professional game company that has everything mapped out. There is a schedule for fixing things. In the end after everything I have said, it is just a game. It should be treated as such. I have been playing this game since beta and the amount of improvements and fixes they have done to this game is astounding to me.

Nothing is perfect. I have found flaws in the best games by the best companies. Stop demanding perfection and just enjoy what you have. You will have a happier life if you let go of that baggage you carry.

It's an open secret that most maps are optimized around the killer they came with.

Hag has her swamp that hides her traps excellently, Spirit has nooks and crannies that allow her to phase unseen, but also allow survivors to hide from her (after all, spirit's main counterplay is stealth, regardless of everyone crying that only chases are fun), Deathslinger has his high ledges and drop points alongside a lot of cover to duck behind for survivors, Legion has a big open map to run around on stabbing people in a row etc.

But outside of their hometurf a lot of killers, especially new ones can be as much a chore to play as it is to play against them.

So, do you think maps should also get a design update that allows for more fun on both sides, because the offer more chances to use the abilities as killer and more means to counter it as survivor?

I think this is a pointless post as they are already updating the design of all the maps. The new maps are more fun for both sides already. You want them to make it more fun for both sides but you don't even offer a suggestion as to what that would even be.

  • Got tired of reading all the negativity. I like him MORE now. He is more fun to play. I love his music. I stopped playing billy for months before the rework when his animations started bugging out. In my opinion he is in a great place now. His animations are fine. His movement is fine. Overheating never happens unless I back rev a ton.

I think everyone is holding onto their bullsheet opinions from before and haven't given him a chance since. Or maybe they just aren't bothering to take the time to adjust to new billy. Either way I don't care. He is fun, I'm getting 4ks, I'm curving on people's faces, and I don't know what everyone is bitching about. Git gud?

  • @GrimReaperJr1232 said:

I gotta say, he looks like he was pretty fun. Weak but fun.

From the looks of it, you had to play him completely differently from other killers and that's awesome! I mean, let's face it, almost all the current killers play the same and have to play tiles mostly the same way with maybe their power giving them an edge on certain tiles.

The only killers that I would call "unique" anymore are Nurse and Hag. Nurse can... oh, come on, we all know why Nurse is absolutely terrifying in the right hands, let's not go there. Hag approaches chases differently since she's all about getting survivors into her web of traps and being 10 places at once and it's terrifying.

Old Freddy was unique and now he's a boring, standard killer. Old Legion was unique and... okay, yeah, he was a mistake, never mind—good call changing that one.

Still, I kinda wish there was another killer like Old Freddy. Weak or not, he looked like he was a blast to play! Current Freddy, my personal hatred aside, it just another basic killer with really good tools at his disposal.

Idk what my actual point here was—just my personal ramblings.

He was fun some times. But think about how survivors will abuse ds and bt in a swf at the exit gates. Now imagine that on top of that if they are awake you can't even touch them! There were so many games were I was just walking the survivors out the exit right next to them and couldn't do a single thing while they tbagged to the last second before I could swing and then they leave. New Freddy is op but old Freddy was just frustrating to play.

I can understand a need for the DC penalty to prevent people from disconnecting on purpose. But I don’t think it needs to go to 48 hours or beyond to get the message across. A few hours is enough to keep people from doing it or at least give them a clean slate after a period of time. I don’t appreciate not being able to play the game I’ve never felt so stomped on as a player in any other video game than this one. Even those with DC penalties at least allow you to rejoin and avoid the penalty in the case that it was on accident. I think if there was a way to compensate the killer for being gone it would totally be doable. For instance maybe start depleting the sacrificial timer until the survivor returns to the match. Once that timer is up then the survivor is completely removed from the game and that’s where the ban would then go into effect.

No. I still dc during the penalty sometimes. So let me quickly explain something you didnt mention.

You get a couple DC's free, then you get a 5 minute time out for dcing, dc again, 5 min, dc again, 15 min, dc again, 30 min, dc again 1 hour, etc. Etc.... Point is for you to have a 48 hour ban means you have DCd over and over and over. It wasn't a one time thing or even a few. You would have to dc well over 7 times in a single day to get there.

So hell naw. Anyone who DC's that much should not be allowed to play.

IMO, the Risky Repairs shouldn't be a level 1 tome challenge because unless a killer doesn't check gens it's almost impossible to finish one gen let alone 2 in a Killers terror radius unless they're chasing someone around that gen, which most survivors don't do, unless the sandbag you

I finished a gen with my team while the killer was nearby for the first one. The first one shouldn't be hard. The second gen I literally 99 then just waited for BBQ as someone was being chased while I worked on the gen. Killer sees me with BBQ and I wait till he got to me and finished it. Pretty easy.

If I had to guess, NOED is used for the movement speed boost.

But I agree with you that it's a bad choice. If you have Tier 3 PWYF, you can be 119% as long as you bump into your Obsession 3 times before the games ends/they die. Moving at 123% probably isn't going to make that big of a difference, especially since they'll have the Gates available by that point.

Corrupt would be a lot better since it will force people into you and help prevent 3 gens popping all at once while you stalk someone, and Whispers is always useful for any Killer's early and late games. I disagree with you on BBQ though; if you're bringing either of the Tombstones you shouldn't spend time going for hooks or bloodpoints - it's just counterproductive.

I didn't say to use bbq. I said to use whispers. The mention of bbq was an example for him to make the choice from.

  • I like trail of Torment on Myers a lot. I would not use noed with this build though. Just my preference. Since it's a build designed to insta kill, having an insta down kinda makes no sense to me. Like if noed has lit up and you still don't have tier 3.....you already lost, you will depip for sure, so what's noed really gonna do? This seems like a waste of a perk slot to me. Nemesis / enduring would go nicely. Whispers or bbq for information for faster tracking and stalking. Corrupt intervention to buy more time early game for stalking. To me this build is about getting that stalk on as fast as possible so you want to have a strong early game. Using an endgame perk for an early game build does not make sense. I think this build could be even stronger if you ditched noed. Personally I always end up going for whispers with this build to find the people who inevitably hide once they realize what's going on.

They are correct though. Burger king Myers has always been with the vanity mirror. Tombstone Myers is tombstone Myers.

  • Sorry but everyone is wrong. Don't bother submitting a ticket. They didn't hold the game hostage. They were looking for hatch. It's pretty common for survivors to stop working on gens when the hatch has spawned. Take this as a learning experience. Learn the hatch mechanics. If this happens again, go find the hatch. I bet you find someone crouched around or in a locker. Or run whispers like me and never have this problem. Stealth meta is pretty strong right now so whispers is on all my killers.

  • @MTK said:

Because they come fully equipped with p3 claudette/urban evasion/spine chill and crouch all game and as soon as 1~2 people die with a few gens left, they cease to touch gens like they are the Black Plague and start crouch-searching for hatch and then proceed to afk crouch for 9 more minutes until their teammates eventually get caught( who were still attempting to do gens in vain, not knowing that they have been forsaken by their teammate) so they can escape. Or even when a hooked teammate is rescuable with gates powered up, they'd rather open the gates, tbag 3~4 times and run out the exit. Yeah you all know the type of players I'm talking about.

That is a frustrating situation but I've given up being angry at anyone for playing that way. Stealth is a viable option. Fortunately there are ways around that. First I suggest you master whispers perk. I run it on every killer. Second be aware of the hatch. There are times when you are playing killer and the hatch has spawned, you just hooked someone, and you know that no gens are being worked on. A lot of killers would camp the area and defend the hook or go patrol gens. The better option is to just let them go for the unhook. Use that time to find the hatch instead, get a step ahead of them. If they stop working on gens, you know where they are camping or going to. Knowing where the hatch is allows you to take out the person not hiding leaving the stealth person last. Hook them near the hatch, close it, then the stealth person has only the doors.

No one gets through the doors when you have whispers. No one. When they realize what's going on they usually go and die in a corner somewhere if you haven't found them. Most people just yolo the door though.

Doing this has helped me find the last person so many times, without having to slug for the 4k btw. If stealth is getting you down I highly recommend using whispers because if you do it will never bother you again.
