This game is definitely survivor sided. You need to look at it from a business perspective tho.
Survivors outnumber the killer 4 to 1. Survivors buy more cosmetics. They can team up with friends which makes it more appealing to play survivor. They need to keep people playing survivor. If Survivors perceive the game as to hard they will lose players.
They want them to have an easier time so they will stay and bring in more players as well as buy cosmetics. Some will play killer and they do buy killer cosmetics.
Over all they do it for the money. You can't blame them. Financially it makes sense. Sucks for killers but it won't chnage as long as Survivors keep playing and buying things.
It’s definitely not survivor sided. The people playing killer just are rally bad at it lol

I’ve been having very poop matches recently, and it’s been making me think that this game is slowly becoming survivor sided and the devs are essentially turning a blind eye on killers.
- Perks. Yes, there are killer perks that are very good, but most of them have counters. Hex:Ruin, Barbecue and Chili, Thrilling Tremors and NOED all have counters. Let’s have a look at survivor perks that can’t be countered: adrenaline, sprint burst, lithe and don’t get me started on object of obsession. The devs have turned a MASSIVE blind eye on object. People who say “Oh you’re just bad learn how to counter them” are the same people that bring unbreakable and decisive.
- Map design. A good majority of maps are heavily survivor sided, including Hawkins, Lery’s , Red Forest and Haddonfield. Most killers get countered by maps like these. I understamd the devs have been attempting to add balance to certain maps such as Macmillan and Autohaven but that isn’t making up for the pure amount of unbalance in other maps.
- Gen speeds. Do I even need to go over how quick gen speeds are? And with addons gens can get done in a matter of seconds if everyone is working on one. 45 seconds for 2 people. 2. That is a ridiculously quick time considering that’s cutting 35 seconds without that extra person. They need a nerf, or else they are trying to encourage people to start bringing ruin, but wouldn’t you know! Your totems get done within 30 seconds of the map starting. That leads me into my next point.
- Totem spawns. The amount of times I bring ruin undying and undying goes within 1 minute. 30 seconds later, and there goes ruin. Totems are way too obvious and need better spots other than just smacking them in the middle of the map where everyone can see it. At least make it so that survivors kind find totems until after the first minute of the match.
- The killers them self. Bhvr have added killers that have very weak map pressure or abilities that are useless, turning killers into a laughing stock. The devs release a killer then ignore them, leaving them to eventually become a meaningless killer with no good perks, or one good perk and two completely awful perks with no use at all. Compare that to survivors with actually all viable perks that can be used including Meg and even Fen Ming. Killers need some love!
So to all you killers, what do you think?
Killers if anything need to be nerfed 🤣 theyre actually quite overpowered from a 1v4 perspective in regards to how fast they are in relation to the map size and the rate at which they can consistently find targets and knock them down . It’s not hard to find survivors and it’s certainly not hard to down them. The devs have made it quite easy on the killers as it is they don’t need anything else. If anything they need stuff taken away. 4 v 1 and the team of 4 does not individually equal 25% of the killer. Doing 5 gens on a tiny little map is harder than killing 4 survivors. And if you don’t see that I don’t know what to tell you. This isn’t your game if you can’t even kill 4 survivors that make a ton of noise, leave scratch marks, are slower than you, it’s quite sad actually

No one wants to do gens or help with totems at all. I'm about to call it quits with survivor cause solo queue is so unbearable like come on devs give me competent teammates for once.
It’s not entirely the survivors’ fault. I can see why solo is so difficult. The only way you have a chance is if you just rush from gen to gen as fast as you can. It’s not really fun that way and most people want to scope things out and play quiet/sneaky. This game is fast paced for both sides and a lot of people don’t realize that. Which kinda sucks especially for survivors because it doesn’t let you get to take time to enjoy the game, do some totems, open some chests, sneak around... no you gotta run run run lol because someone’s always getting chased or dying at all times so it’s constant pressure. Unorganized teams don’t have a chance against that kind of pressure. They need to find a balance between swf and solo and leave it. I think this game is balanced too much around swf and that’s not really fair. Killers are too fast for current map sizes. Downs happen way too quickly. Gens don’t get done. I see it game after game after game in red ranks survivor and I can make it happen consistently while I’m playing as killer too.

Being new to the game flatout sucks.
If you are new, it doesn't matter if you're survivor or killer. Your experience is going to be full of failure and defeat regardless.
As for generators not being fun, well everyone has said that. We've all made suggestions here on how to change that but BHVR is not interested in changing the basic core of the game. They probably view it as too big of a risk.
The game isn't particularly killer sided you are just facing killers who are better than you are.
It’s not hard to be a killer I keep telling people that. Like I said I’m in the red ranks on both sides. I find that killers actually beat the other side way more than the other way around. I think there are a lot of flaws on survivor side that needs to be enhanced. Map size also needs to be increased or decreased in relation to the killers speed and abilities and As of now I think these maps are too small and the killer is too fast. Gens are squeezed together too closely on a lot of these maps, too easy to find survivors. What I’m talking about is finding fairness in the game. Has nothing to do with how good I am. I’m red/purple never anything less. The only reason I even slip to purple is if I don’t play one side for awhile and the rank resets me lol it’s honestly too easy for killers at the mkment
-
@VikingWilson said:
For instance, a survivor runs through a door and you'll have scratch marks going left, right, and forward. It takes a second to see just where they went, giving the survivor even more distance. I suspect BHVR won't do a thing about this, but it's pretty bad. Even big streamers get confused by them and say how dumb they are.
Can we please get them narrowed a bit?
All they need to tell you is that someone was there. Such entitled thinking that you should just get everything handed to you as a killer. Might as well ask them “BHVR can you just let me see through walls? Can I just look at them and then they’ll just fall over and die?”

I'm pretty sure most people would disagree. Killer is the lesser role in most cases. There are very few killers that are the top role in a match and even then its iffy. The game is not balanced around swf it's balanced in favor of survivors currently. That's why theres a huge lack in killers queuing.
You’re absolutely wrong. It’s not balanced for solo survivors that’s for sure. Do I have to screen shot every single game and tally up how many games everyone or anyone escapes vs everyone dying for you? Everyone definitely dies way more often I really don’t feel like having this argument with people that are so clearly playing killer for their first time. Killer is absolutely the easiest role to play, although it is a little stressful due to managing gens while killing survivors at the same time which may seem like a lot to you. But it’s not. With the right perks, abilities, add ons, a killer that fits your play style that meshes with those perks, add ons and abilities you will win way more than you lose. Oh and a headset will do you some good so you can get audio queues for injured survivors. I do it every game as killer and most games I feel bad and just let the last two repair or mess around with them until I’m ready to let them escape . As long as the last guy doesn’t try to just skip out on gens and go for the hatch. Then Ill definitely kill him/her. But all in all, I gotta say from my perspective (which I have been playing since the game came out) I can tell you it’s more killer sided 🤔

So you're asking the devs to remove dc penalties because you have teammates who dc and leave you alone in the match?
If any they have to increase the penalties for dc to counter this nonsense instead of removing the penalties.
Remove the penalties and you increase the dc during the matches.
People would not DC in the first place had this game been a little more fair for survivors. Not every team of 4 is 100% all the time productive and communicating. Even the best get beat 50% of the time. The ones that aren’t get beat 100% of the time. This game is balanced around communicating teams so the killer has been buffed like crazy. They need to tone the killer down a bit.
-
@Wesker09 said:
Please get rid of the penalties. I'm tired of my teammates dcing for no reason and then being forced to play in a loss game
people wouldn’t leave in the first place had this game been designed for both sides to have a chance. Survivors get slammed every game 😂 people get tired of losing. This game really does suck on the survivor side. It’s so much more fun and consistent playing killer (although a little stressful having to stay busy all of the time going from gen to gen, survivor to survivor managing all of that)

Toolboxes, especially new parts can be a bit cheesy but they are rare at least more than one a game is rare. I mean if survivors wanna dump all that into a game with me they could win normally....sure...w/e xD
The new part is such a waste of a slot. Waste of a ultra rare add on really. the progress gains are not even guaranteed to get or to stay once you get chased off of it. It’s a two time use that doesn’t stick. Killer add ons get used the entire game. That’s broken.

How is that not genrushing?
When you work together you have an average chance of 50/50 at escaping. When I play killer I can tell when people are working together communicating and I still beat them. Killer is a little bit too overpowered for the game at the moment. The twins need to be changed so they can’t camp exit gates. Gas Heaven exit gates need to be changed so the killer cannot stand in one spot and watch both exit gates. Every player deserves a chance and in this game it’s too reliant on all 4 people being 100% productive at all times. But that’s not the case most games. The only way you will get “gen rushed” is if you as a killer don’t know how to utilize the killers abilities, perks, ridiculous speed in relation to these small maps, add ons and offerings to beat your opponent. That’s really hard to do, you almost have to try to be bad to lose as the killer lol I’m telling you I have played plenty of these games on both sides and I consistently slam survivors as the killer and just don’t feel like I’m having any fun playing survivor because you lose almost every single game. The only thing that remotely gives you a chance is a key and people playing killer complain about that. It’s sad. What needs to not be in the game is Mori’s. They are completely unnecessary. I don’t use them at all and I do fine.

@MythMage said:
OK, this has to be some top tier bait, because holy ######### I refuse to believe that someone actually thinks that gen-rush doesn't exist.
Welp, time to "gen rush" as survivor, then go off and "camp" and "tunnel" as Killer, cuz those don't really exist either, yeah?
In all seriousness, if you do believe this and it isn't some S++++ tier bait, you are a fool to think that 3 gens don't pop by the time you get your first hook against actually good survivors (not red ranks, good survivors. There's a difference). Even if you just hold W and not loop at all against a 115% Killer, 3 gens will be done by the time that survivor gets hooked. This isn't even anecdotal. This is pure concrete math, based on movement speed, removing variables and time it takes to do all sorts of actions.
No because I’ve played this game since it came out I’m red rank on both sides. Although my killer rank slips to purple sometimes because I don’t play it as much so when the rank resets it sets me back a color. But anyways, yes the gens actually don’t get done and even if they do the killer usually gets the last guy with 1-2 gens left. Its consistently happening in every single game. Red rank survivors don’t have to escape to be red rank. They’re not expected to escape. I firmly believe You’re supposed to die in this game. It’s designed that way. And if they don’t it’s on the person playing killer. They just need a different game plan. The killer is absolutely the dominant side in this game. The maps are too small for killers current speed and there is such an immense lack of hiding in this game. You’re meant to get caught, you’re meant to die lol
-
That’s not gen rushing that’s people cooperating to stall the killer. That’s the killer making bad decisions. 🤣

Look at the absolute absurdity of this match! Head On absolutely carried everyone here, it was used to stun her once! How absolutely overpowered, it won us this game singlehandedly! Omg BHVR please nerf Head On it's too op; it should break your arms from the force of opening the locker, damage you one health state, and give you the broken status effect for the rest of the trial it's so OP!!!
Honestly, if a RuinDying Stridor Spirit can't beat Head On, how do you expect anyone else to cope?! It's so ######### busted how did this even make it past PTB?!?!?!
The first survivor sacrificed themself for the team, to commit to a generator and then they sadly couldn't make it to the gate despite us trying to bodyblock. They will be held in our hearts forever.
And yes, I escaped with 4 WGLF stacks. How OP.
(at this point i think i make these posts just to post my wins lol)
killers are the most OP players in the game get outttaaaaaa here lmao what a joke this post is 🤣

Killers in this game are actually handed way too much to do their job. It’s gross.
as long as you have constant information coming in (audio if you have a headset and visual via perks and add ons) and react to that information constantly, it’s almost too easy. I’d love to find one survivor who can loop me long enough to get 5 gens done. You need to be a super team. And quite honestly that’s not fair the 90% of players who go in with uncoordinated teams. If they want to make this game functional where it’s even and fair then they would not have made this cross play without the option to party up. A game that’s based on teamwork why would you add that option if you can’t party up with them across platforms? Survivors suck man. They really do. Anybody that’s a god at playing survivor id like you to show me how I won’t down you in 10-15 seconds lol

A god? It doesn’t take a god. Do you have a headset? Do you have a tv that’s not from the mid 1900s? Do you have some map knowledge? Do you have survivor perk knowledge and know how to counter it? Okay then. You should be fine. It’s quite easy and... well my killer perks work fine for me 100% of the time.

I'm kind of a noob to the game yet (500hrs), I've seen some amazing plays done by survivors, but is this kind of gen rush, 4 gens in less than 5 min, supposed to be balanced? Even with Undying and Ruin and me chasing a survivor?
What about a CD or penalty to repair's speed if gens are done at the same time? I mean, how am I'm supposed to counter this kind of situation?
You also have to understand how frustrating it is for survivors to see the killer knock down their other 3 teammates within the first 5 minutes of the game too. It goes both ways. But tbh I think because of how small the maps are (which squeezes the gens closely together) that I think this game is more in favor of killers. It’s not fair game after game survivors get slammed into the ground and don’t ever escape. But I see it happen in the red ranks too. Map sizes are too small in relation to the high mobility killers in particular. There’s just no need for it. And it’s not like survivors can hide super well either. The hiding spots are incredibly obvious.

How can it be skill based tho? There's no skill involved in holding M1 on the gate or going to point A to point B
hes talking about the killer not the survivors. Killers don’t have to have skill 😂 they get everything handed to them already. Informational Perks, abilities that give them easy downs, add ons that give them easy downs and auras of survivors, moris, undetectable, regression of opponents objectives, etc. survivors do not get anything handed to them lmao 1-2 barely make it out every game if that. 4Ks most games. Ez. Survivors have to sweat butt to stall the killer for whatever minuscule amount of time the game allows. While killers just walk around and swing m1 countless amounts of times unhindered by any kind of cool down
-
@Tsulan said:
2 survivors doing the same gen take 42 seconds to finish it with proof Thyself. Survivors usually spawn on a gen, while the killer spawns at the other end of the map.
Killer can only chase 1 survivor. Even with insta down, unless survivors afk hide in the corner of a map, 2 gens will be completed before the first hook.
The maps are small enough to where spawning anywhere doesn’t really matter. You can’t use the phrase “other end of the map” when someone’s got the killer in their face right as soon as they spawn in. It’s ridiculous how small these maps are.
-
@Nicholas said:
They need to add obstacles to the exit gates, so that the killer has to actually walk over to the exit gate to see the progress. Even when they are far, depending on the killer and a few other factors, it can still be pretty much hopeless. I wish it was more skill based than RNG. A lot of it has to do with placement and the killer.
Seriously though you are correct about that one. The maps are already kinda small as it is and the killers have either fast walking speed or can zip across the map with their abilities. Or they can camp the exit gates. So why should they just be able to stand in one spot and look back and forth? That’s terrible.

No I’m looking at red/purple rank survivors. Honestly survivor rank doesn’t mean much because you still pip if you don’t escape. You’re not meant to escape in this game and if you do, you’re lucky or the person playing killer is atrociously bad at it lol That’s just how the game is designed.
-
@Perfectnomad said:
Seriously. Any killer, you do 1-2 chases, the gens pop and you're done. This is terrible for game health./ Why would anyone pkay killer?
You are Just a troll lol. Why would anyone play killer? Please. Why would anyone play survivor? Hold down a button on your objective waiting to die the entire game? Naaah. That’s not fun. Killers have no cool down in between attacks like they should. Some killers down way too quickly to allow survivors to do their job. Game after game I see killers 3-4K. Survivors just get to die? Can survivors at least have fun dying? Not in this game. At least Friday 13th had different ways to die that made it interesting.

Wrong. If survivors are on discord and communicating, killer loses every time. Look at the perks used. Playing killer is so boring and you lose every time.
You don’t lose every time, you’re just bad at it. It doesn’t matter what they are on or what kind of communication they have. I’m telling you it’s definitely still easily doable for killer players lol
-
Bone heads in here that still believe survivors have it too good no the hell they don’t 🤣 gens are quite difficult to do in the red ranks against GOOD killers. Get good at being a killer and you’ll see how easy it is. (There is a little stress involved being that, as killer, you have to stay being productive the entire match) gen to gen, survivor to survivor. Then It’s 4K every game.

Your argument is so weak that its pretty clear you only play survivor probably at green ranks as well
i play red rank survivor and purple rank killer. I could go higher as killer but I don’t play enough to resist the rank resets.
but I’m being completely honest. This game is actually way too easy for the killers. Small map sizes means gens are squeezed together where killers have the ability to move from gen to gen quickly especially with the walking speed they have. There is a lack of hiding on most of these maps, and it is way too easy to spot survivors. There are not many places to hide. The ones that are available are completely obvious. Killers need cool downs in between attacks. It’s not really fair that killers can pummel survivors when they can only take two hits. Yeah they get the speed boost but it doesn’t mean anything when they are going to get caught up to moments later because of the killers speed and the 0 second cool down after the hit. It’s ridiculous. Survivors need TIME to do gens. Quite honestly good killers don’t really give you much time at all to do 5 gens as they have the ability to go from one survivor to the next with ease using the right abilities and the right perks. Keeping Survivors healing and and running around unhooking or hiding is 4K every game. It’s a killer sided game my friend. The killers need a decent size nerf In my opinion.
-

Because survivors almost always spawn on gens and killers have to walk around find someone down them pick them up put them on a book then go to someone else
They spawn on a gen, but killers also spawn on survivors 😂 so yeah that’s being a bit hypocritical. Killers spawn in a small map with 4 slow survivors people need to stop complaining because they are bad at being killer. Killer is so damn easy it’s ridiculous 🤪🤣

The second you get into a trial, gens are being done. You fgind one survivor, you get into a chase, but then 2-3 gens pop. How is this fun?
It’s actually quite the opposite but okay sure. Gens are actually hard to do when you go against good killers. The maps are quite small in comparison to each killers current speed and ability to down quickly. Survivors aren’t hard to find. They’re actually too easy to find. You have it all wrong. I play both sides, more so survivor side. but when I play killer I get 3-4K every game. It’s a little stressful managing 5 gens at first, you bring corrupt intervention it gives you a bit of a head start. That’s all you really need though 😂 it’s too easy for killers it’s not really fun for survivors to hold down a button on a generator the whole game waiting to die either.

Im actually a survivor main but sometimes I play killer for fun and for rift challenges.
When I play killer I play bad, but I dont tunnel or camp or slug and I use fun builds and bad perks. Because I enjoy the game and I dont care to win.
But half of end game chats there are always survivors complaining about me, insulting me for nothing... tell me horrible things I cant write here.... I always report this kind of players but I still saw end game chats like this.
Ive never seen a killer fair like me. I know that Im loosing but I still dont camp and ran away from hooks to practice chases and get better.
Survivors are escaping and still insults me in end game chat. They calling me a tunneler but everyone have been hooked twice...
I know the most popular opinion is that killers are toxic etc but its wrong survivors players are way more and insults killers for nothing.
Its very sad because this game is very fun but players are just trash people, sorry to say that...
I just want to say : Behaviour please do your job and ban players like this from the game. They are very hurtful for free, with no reason. There are games rules but they dont care because they are not banned and still in this game.
I just start to think that killer is the bad role and whatever your gameplay, kind or toxic, survivors just like to insult killers because they are the bad role.
People that play survivor get upset because dying = losing. Almost or all Survivors die every game. It’s too easy for killers to be honest. They need to make it harder on the killers. 1) they’re too fast for current map sizes 2) they don’t have any cool downs in between m1 attacks and survivors can only take 2 hits. That’s broken. 3) killers are faster than survivors
#1 or #2 need to be fixed or both. Its quite ridiculous how often I win playing killer than survivor. I get it, 1v4. You aren’t meant to stand much of a chance. But honestly I really firmly believe it’s too easy to find and down survivors in this game. The perks give you too much info as do most of these killers abilities help them too much

Really what is your opinion because i never care about keys and i completely don't understand the rages.
Keys are fine the way they are. Keys give the player a chance in a lot of these games. 5 gens don’t get done in a lot of games that I’ve played in I’ve noticed. it’s way too easy for killers to, at least more consistently than survivors, complete their objectives.

@Bard said:
- Almost all of his add-ons are complete and utter dogshit, either doing nothing appreciable or being actively detrimental.
- No, "Forever Freddy" is not OP. Even with the rest of his add-ons being as awful as they are, it's only second place (double teleport CD is better). It's a TWELVE PERCENT SLOW at its maximum potential, is usually gonna be a whole lot WORSE than that due to people being awake, and it does NOTHING in the early game, when a killer can lose three gens for one chase even IF they end it in 30 seconds.
- So what if he counters BT? One favorable interaction with survivor perks does not a strong killer make. Hell, the interaction isn't even entirely favorable; if somebody does manage to trigger it, smacking the unhooked survivor doesn't put them to sleep. Why? Because it was a solution they added back when BT's timer progressed outside the terror radius, and they just forgot to revert it when they fixed the underlying problem. Also, there are a ton of other perk interactions that balance out BT by interacting terrible with Freddy. The most obvious one is Object of Obsession, but there's also a ton of killer perks that Freddy can't use (infectious being the main one, but also any kind of stealth perk).
- At the start of the game, when killers are most vulnerable to losing gens with no recourse, Freddy literally has no power. Snares do nothing since nobody's awake, Projection is on CD, and you have completely normal stats (no, survivors misjudging your lunge due to your height is not a power),
- "OH MY GOD HE CAN CROSS THE MAP INSTANTLY THAT'S SO OP"... is what I would say if I was an idiot. Freddy can only teleport once every 45 seconds (a bit more frequently due to sleep reducing the CD, but it's still lengthy). It starts off on CD, so it's worthless at the beginning of the game (when you most need to cross the map) and can only target incomplete generators, meaning that not only is it not useful in chase 95% of the time, but it gets less and less useful as gens get done, until the end game where it's literally unusable.
- Snares are REALLY EASY to use, but they aren't that good. People like to call him a better Clown, and you're not entirely wrong there since the unlimited ammo is very good if you've been playing the same tile for a while already, but honestly there are a LOT of situations where Clown is outright stronger than Freddy, because Bottles can be used actively to catch up with a survivor the first time at a loop or in the open, where Snares are completely useless in those situations, since you need to spam them so much that you can't exactly have a bunch of them in 300 IQ spots to catch people in transit. Also, again, they're completely useless until survivors fall asleep, meaning they're completely useless for the first stages of the game.
I ain't saying he doesn't need changes; he's way too easy and boring as hell even when you're winning.
That said, changes shouldn't be aimed at making Freddy weaker; they should be aimed at raising his skill ceiling and removing the ability to play Freddy while simultaneously doing your taxes, wrapping Christmas presents, and making a quiche.
Tbh most killers need nerfs that just fly or teleport across the ALREADY SMALL maps and hit and down people so quickly. It’s a stale experience playing survivor. 5 gens actually is quite a lot to do because teammates are constantly going down and dying.
-
@AnnoyingNarrator said:
Why does this perk make you invincible?
As a killer, it makes this perk the most annoying out of all of the exhaustion perks, as its lets the survivor not only dodge your attacks even if they screw up, but can straight up deny some abilities, most trapper's traps. That being said, dead hard is not that good and really easy to bait out.
As a survivor, this perk teaches you to play in all of the wrong ways. Instead of learning how to 360 or how to escape a chase, survivors tend to just use this perk as a get out of jail free card. As I mentioned earlier, it is not really that good and tends to get the survivor downed against any decent killer.
So how would I fix it? I would make it so that can more easily enter a vault when using dead hard and have it lose up to 20 seconds of exhaustion for every 4 seconds the survivor is in a chase in exchange of for the invincibility. By doing this, it buffs the perk ability to extend chases but can't be used as a get out of free card, while also rewarding skilled loopers by having the perk return faster, forcing survivors to learn the loops.
Also, I don't think I need to say this, but please make it so that when you use it you don't end up exhausted on the ground.
Dumb post. I don’t even need to read it to know a one time use perk during a chase to give you a chance at dodging the killers m1 hit that killers get to spam over and over without any setback in the chase should be in the game as is if not better than it’s current state. It’s a god damn perk. It should be a benefit to the survivor not the killer lmao it’s already too easy to get hits and downs playing killer. What a joke

Given the fact that this game is survivor-sided, it shouldn't be much of a surprise that there aren't enough killer players.
It’s definitely not survivor sided lmaooo

Why are all of my teammates absolutely terrible 95% of the time?
It’s not that they are terrible it’s just that this game requires a lot of communication now because they keep buffing killers in various ways. I.e smaller maps, more powerful abilities and add ons that are pretty much OP af lmao. When you are Part of any team, teamwork is essential to winning. But this game doesn’t really feel like it has a balanced experience on both sides. The biggest problem is hiding/map size imo. When both of those are lacking in size or amount then it becomes kinda too easy for the killer. I play both sides and I’ve been red rank survivor solo for a long time and even In red ranks survivors don’t win often. When I play killer I almost feel like I’m in control of most of the matches. Every so often a survivor escapes or two. But imho killers have too much at their disposal in relation to the current map sizes being to small, the available hiding sucks and ways to confuse the killer and not get caught is extremely lacking. The game is designed for survivors to get caught. They inevitably go down really fast in most games. Then proxy camped until they die.. 1 by 1. It’s too easy for killers. Enough said.

I know that this goes against many people in the forums but hear me out. The definitions of tunneling and camping is actually not specific amongst the playerbase. To make it a bit easier for me to explain my points, let's just assume that the actual definition of camping is staying intentionally close to the hook, and tunneling intentionally focusing on killing one player.
There are many reasons for a killer to both camp and tunnel. For example, if all the gens are done and the killer didn't get any kills, it's entirely reasonable to camp that specific hook to secure a kill. Likewise, if a survivor already used their ds, and the killer can only find the unhooked survivor, it's also reasonable to quickly kill them so they can secure that one person is out, and the survivor team will in result be more pressured.
Does it suck for the survivor? Yes, a lot. But both are counterable.
The survivor team, in these kinds of situations, should focus on gens and either force the killer to leave the hook or force them to get a 1k.
Ds/unbreakable is probably the best anti tunneling perk combo. Having borrowed time can assist you in camping situations, deliverance is also extremely good.
So, in conclusion, camping and tunneling are both counterable. It is a really mean way to play the game, but these are simply infective strategies if the survivor team does their job.
(Edit: misleading title, sorry :3)
You don’t realize that gens are actually not able to get done a lot of the time in most of these matches even when killers are camping and tunneling because most of the time killers proxy camp where they can watch gens and the hooked survivor. Killers should never be able to do that. The only reason why they can so easily and efficiently is because 1) maps are too small which squeezes gens together making it easier for the killer to do it and 2) survivors can’t even fight back lmao. This game for that reason leaves survivors at a disadvantage in most games even from a 1v4 perspective. Survivors are underpowered and even when you have a team that is organized and doing everything right it’s not even guaranteed that you’ll beat the killer the majority of these games. Tbh killers are too easy to play. It’s stressful at times, sure. But never can you ever play killer and be like... I played the best I could and still lost it’s the games fault. No it’s your fault. This game hands killers so many tools to do their job and even gives them the comfort of being able to proxy camp. still blows my mind that they haven’t done anything to improve the experience on the survivors end of things.

God I swear some of you just want to complain and are insecure with your own abilities! I know DAMN well there are lots of you guys on this forum who can ABSOLUTELY DESTROY swf and key users and some of you honestly suck. Thats how a game play base is but just quit acting like this mori nerf reflects anything. IT DOES NOT!!!
Jesus Christ we all know keys and Moris are too strong but keys are still weaker and need more changes. It isn't showing a double standard or survivor sided devs its simple freaking math. Oh you have like 15 issues needed to be solved and then you have 2 issues you WANT to solve? Well one of them requires half the time to fix all those 15 bugs and the other requires a value change. AND YOU HAVE limited TIME! So please get your guys head out of your rear and quit being belligerent. If they pushed back the updates you all would be upset and this change if it was warned so soon we all know killers would use Moris dont act like there is a double standard over a simple choice to pick the easiest problem for a limited time frame. The true double standard is complaining about how unfair it is and how everyone is using keys when you would do the same if it was keys changed first.
Also keys arent that hard to freaking deal with. I have made it to rank one like everyone else and the fact people lose all the time like they say is laughable. At least on MY servers I am am among the best survivors that I have PERSONALLY met. I can't even play solo without people dying or playing like noobs. Hell @azame can even vouch for this but most red ranks are trash and if you lose to them you have to get better. Some times the game throws unfair maps or what not or maybe an occasional good swf but its not all the time. And I have BARELY had a key make a difference survivor or killer match. And I am not even a freaking killer main. If you think you NEED a mori or key to win you are NOT good. If you think you need a mori to beat a key you are not good. Only when its a actual good swf or immersed survivors where its a major issue. Hell even moris aren't that bad to deal with if you have good teammates but its stronger and will always be. Moris are a more pressing issue but yeah the change should have happened at the same time but it didn't and don't act like the game is hopeless now. It makes you seem Like you're new to the game.
Also little PSA if you know where the hatch is there wont be 3 escapes and if 4 escape with a key you already lost before they used the hatch. Aint now way 4 people should live to all escape through the hatch. Grow some integrity and admit when you aren't that good or when your miss is your fault. On a lighter note, I like this forum and its members even if it is filled with toxicity and idiots. Some people are just really genuine or helpful and some are funny. All of you guys play this game like me and understand some things are wrong but I have faith in all of you I think that all of you can overcome these issues so please quit making the same threads and making this community worse just grow as a person and a player please
Keys are not too strong. Every survivor deserves a chance to escape you aren’t entitled to all 4 kills every match. Keys are fine as they are an item to bring in that isn’t even guaranteed to be able to use. Mori’s on the other hand is an offering slot and therefore should not be able to impact the outcome of the game in any way other than improving the amount of bloodpoints one gets or odds of getting the map you desire or altering the distance of hooks. Survivors don’t have an offering that helps with their objectives why should killers? Survivors have items and add ons, killers have abilities and add ons. Fair. Okay so why are the killers offerings so god damn OP?
-
@bubbabrotha said:
I mean, yeah, they needed a nerf. But they don't have any purpose now. They are literally detrimental your scoring, without any benefit. They just clutter up the blood web.
I think there could be a better solution to this.
It’s an offering slot anyways. Offerings should be meant to improve personal score at the end of the match or choose a map maybe. It should not have an effect on the outcome of the game by giving you any sort of advantage. Survivors don’t have one. Why should you?

I'm on the verge of tears. No matter how good I play, no matter what dirty strategies I try, no matter how many meta perks I bring, no matter the killer I play, I can never get more than one single kill. It makes me so upset that my favorite game is also the game I hate to play the most. I have started playing killer more because I can usually only play this game every Sunday at 7:00-10:00 P.M. and survivor ques at this time take from 1 to 1 and a half hours at the rank I'm in. This makes it so I just play game after game after game of red rank survivors on terrible maps like Ormond and Badham Preschool and get absolutely stomped. The survivors don't even have the common courtesy to wait at the exit gates and let me get hits before they take off. They just leave. I hate that I have an addiction to this game and I'm so super bad at it. I look at videos on how to get better, I look at videos on what I'm doing wrong, I ask people what I can do to get better and they all say the same things: "Get better at looping", "Know when to leave a survivor", "Spread pressure when you're able to." None of it helps. My Undying and Ruin get broken immediately at 5 gens so I try and tunnel to make sure I can at least get one kill. I do t understand how people are so good or why people are so mean. I just want to have fun and this game just makes me mad and lash out. Please tell me what to do this game is ruining my life.
I definitely can tell you that it is not the game it is you. The killer is actually the most overpowered player in the game. Supposed to be due to 1v4 but even for that 5 gens is a lot to do in a small map with fast killers that down quickly and kill quickly. Killers need a nerf or map size needs to increase in size imo
-
Killers are actually quite overpowered at the moment due to small map sizes not matching up with killer speed and strong anti loop abilities and add ons coupled with the information given to them through perks it’s almost excessive. I’ve been playing this game for awhile, killers have the upper hand even in a 1v4.

My thoughts about the experience are at the bottom if that's all you want to see.
Link to the killer side of this:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/208146/results-of-my-16-killer-matches-tonight/p1
Mostly just raw data, just posting here so everyone can see if they care for some reason. Added some notes and thoughts as well. Wrote down the outcomes of all my matches today. Bit of a long read if you want everything.
Focused on the survivor side today, played how I normally do. Will be busy tomorrow so hopefully I can test the killer side before the experiment ends. Killer ranks were a little varied, as per usual, but the performances were fairly consistent for the most part. Killers were mostly purple and reds with some greens in there. Didn't record specific ranks because it didn't occur to me at the time and since I don't put a lot of weight on rank in terms of skill since they're not really connected (apologies). Again, even with the different ranks, the performance didn't seem to change much. My rank started at 6/7 and by the end was at 4. At most was in a duo for games. Most games seemed played normally by both sides as far as I could tell, but no way to really know 100%.
My Build was: Lithe, Spine Chill, Kindred, and Small Game or Pharmacy (to get a med-kit if I couldn't come in with one and save that med-kit for the next game). Med-kit was green and had no add-ons.
Quick data (unless I messed up):
- Average kills per game: 1.13
- Average hooks per game: 3.95
- Kills in Order: 0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 3, 0 ,1, 0, 0, 2, 0, 0, 0, 4, 0, 2, 4, 1, 4, 0, 2.
- Hooks in order: 3, 2, 5, 3, 3, 4, 3, 4, 4, 4, 3, 3, 0, 4, 2, 8, 3, 4, 4, 3, 10, 5, 7.
Format: Map
Killer - Kills - Hooks - personal Result - Possible extra details
1) Preschool
Clown - 0k - 3 hooks - Gate Escape
2) Haddonfield
Wraith - 0k -2 hooks - Gate Escape
3) Rotten fields
Slinger - 1k - 5 hooks -Gate Escape
4) Thompson House
Hag - 1k - 3 hooks - Gate Escape
5) Groaning Storehouse
Wraith - 1k - 3 hooks - Gate Escape - Main Building is disgusting with no BL it seems, so everyone just ran there for chase.
6) Temple Of Purgation
Hag - 0K - 4 hooks - Gate Escape
7) Gas Heaven
Freddy - Mori 3K - 3 hooks - Hatch Escape - didn’t get funbus :(
8) Badham
Trapper - 0K - 4 hooks - Gate Escape - Not the best trapper around
9) Hawkins
Hillbilly - 1k - 4 hooks - Gate Escape
10) Fractured Cowshed
Wraith - 0k - 4 hooks - Gate escape
11) Ironworks - Legion - 0k - 3 hooks - Gate Escape
Upper floor is gross to no one's surprise, survivors were smart enough to split up on gens.
12) The Game (offering)
Mirror Myers - 2k - 3 hooks - sacrificed - Death by first hook Camp with NoED, Bill was tunneled and camped as well till death
13) Haddonfield
Hillbilly - 0k - 0 hooks - "Escape" due to killer DC - Killer DC'd after 2 chases with no hits
14) Saloon
Plague - 0k - 4 hooks - Gate Escape - The saloon itself seemed pretty strong, so of course everyone bolted there anytime they got chased.
15) Badham
Trapper - 0k - 2 hooks - Gate Escape - Killer gave up when 2 gens were left
16) Rotten fields
Forever Freddy - 4k - 8-9 hooks - Sacrificed - Got a red rank Potatodette who got sacrificed when only 1 gen was done, got downed very fast and got tunneled. Only 6K points on her if that helps paint a picture at all. The last 3 of us got all the way to 1/2 of a gen left before the game ended. If it wasn't forever Freddy 2 or 3 of us might have still escaped maybe.
17) Blood Lodge
Doctor - 0k - 3 hooks - Gate Escape
18) Badham
Plague - 2k - 4 hooks - Sacrificed - Me and another survivor Left by the duo teammates on first hook while they ran out :(
19) Ormond
Blight - Mori 4k with tunnel off hook on everyone except the last two - Mori'd - Gates powered by end of game
20) Badham
Freddy - 1k - 3 hooks - Gate Escape - Tunneled Meg out the game
21) Badham
Forever Freddy - 4K - 10 hooks - Sacrifice - Another game with Forever Freddy and we had a Nea doing really dumb plays like sitting behind the killer crouched while injured while they're hooking someone else. One of our teammates also went down and hooked twice back to back greeding for the same gen. Me and the other survivor died on second hook with 1 gen left.
22) Badham
Pyramid Head - 0k - 5-6 hooks - Gate Escape - should've focused targets better if he wanted better results. Unfortunately they played "nice".
23) Grim Pantry
Spirit - 2K - 7 hooks - Gate escape - The spirit wasn't very good, but she's not really affected by BL anyway so it's not like it really matters.
Thoughts so far:
I usually survive more than I die but I think this is a little ridiculous. Even my rando teammates are getting out more often. Most of the survivor deaths are from tunnels/camps as well as you can probably tell by the hook amounts if that matters to you. You can run killers so much longer even on some of the common tiles. Holding W and tile chaining is also much stronger. I thought removing BL was going to be an overall negative but even I'm a little surprised.
The Killer side seems to be really impacted by this in a very negative way. The map design and overall balance is appearing to be not where it needs to be to be thinking about removing bloodlust completely. Could do with leaving in just Tier 1 however and taking out 2 and 3. I'd still they rather test things then just throw them out, so that's at least a positive from this whole thing. But there are other issues that really need to be addressed first imho besides BL. Namely the maps and loops need to be better if they want BL out the game asap.
However, I will see how further games play out. Right now it's not looking good. Definitely noticing a big difference in games, it's much easier to loop.
On a side note, one of my friends has also been playing survivor, they aren't the best but they are ok. Usually they get sacrificed pretty regularly, about as much as they escape if not more. They've been playing today and are surviving much much more. Take that as you will.
it's been a long day, so I'll probably be turning in soon. Hope this interest someone. If not well, nothing lost I guess.
Survivors are the ones that suck man I’m in red ranks in both sides and killers smack survivors almost every single game. Your data sucks lol

@Almo confirmed on a stream last night that Clown is getting a rework, but it's not going to be like Freddy's rework was. Which leads me to believe it might be a similar rework to the one Doctor received earlier this year.
No idea when Clown's rework is coming, I'm hoping it's in the next mid-chapter.
What do you guys think? Are you hoping Clown's rework will be good? Do you think Clown is alright where he is (unpopularly) or do you think this is the right decision from the devs?
Clown is already too much as his gas allows one hit downs and has a wide area of effect. He doesn’t need anything 😂 they need to stop empowering killers
-
my personal experience killers are still in the power seat. In almost every single game it’s 3-4K for me. As a survivor I’ll be lucky to live unless I bring a key 😂 survivors get stomped on match after match. It’s already not fun to do gens let alone stare at yourself on a hook. Killers got it so good 😂😂😂😂

As a Killer main {M.Myers, GF, and Freddy} I personally find those who main Survivor are generally not as good at the game as killer mains.
Let’s face it the survivors have only one objective, repair 5 generators and escape, compare that to the objectives of the killers, and it’s like comparing primary school children to Adults with full time jobs.
Not only is the role of Survivor boring and easy, the “Pro” survivor mains have the audacity to whine and complain about various tactics killers use to gain the upper hand, or using perks that slow the game down.
Such as:
“OmG TuNnElLeR!!!” or “BoRiNg KiLlEr!!” or “rUiN UnDyinG n00b” and the one that I get accused of the most “waaaa!! U SlUgGeD Me I RePoRt”
Or using a good build as a killer {They all DC}, using a fun build as killer {They taunt you for only getting a 2 K}
It is ridiculous, and what makes it even worse is the fact that Survivors can use even worse tactics such as Genrushing, gen speeds are way to fast and that is when they dont bring in toolboxes with the right add ons.
And the absolute audacity of completing a gen in the killers face.
And not to mention the outright broken survivor perks.
So here are some solutions to change the Survivor experience: {make them less cocky}
- Survivors should not be able to use map offerings. {like 5 games in a row i got nothing but toxic swfs, using survivor sided map offerings}.
- Or make it so the survivors need to find items scattered across the map in order to start working on a generator.
- Add a 3 second cool down to Survivor crouching (T bagging is pathetic no argument here).
- If a Survivor completes a gen within 10 meters of a Killer they will get a penalty like (The Exhaustion effect, or they cant work on another gen for 180 seconds).
Don't mean to sound like I am ranting but change needs to happen, it's simply unfair that Survivors complain about everything Killers do, (Even if we are playing around with a non-meta build)
This has to be the worst post I have ever seen. This game is most definitely killer sided. The maps are too small for killer movement speed. The gens are way slower than they used to be and actually I find that in most games in the red ranks as a survivor I can’t get my objective done because people go down too quickly. It’s not common for survivors to gen rush really. The gens are slow enough in relation to how fast killers can down and how easy it is to find survivors in the first place.

sooo... recently i was so bored that i checked out my steam purchase history for DBD.
honestly i was actually shocked how much money i spend for dbd.. well i spend 600€ (DLCs, Outfits, Rifts etc) ... then i asked myself was it really worth? what have the devs done for the 600€ .. im not here to hate or something but you can get a good & fun game for 50-60 € and can also enjoy it for a long time like the assasin creed games or the forest a early acsess game etc
sure nobody forced me to do so.. but since the beta i tried to support BHVR as much as i can but if we take a look to the current state of DBD ..
Very bad performance (luckely my pc is strong and has barely issues)
currently SoloQ is just a worse experienced you either play SWF and have boring matches or you play with all the poatoes and get sick of dbd
the ranking system as mentioned there are a lot of potatoes ranking is too easy for both sides everyone is a rank 1 nowadays .. so you either have luck and get some good teammates or you will have a unfun match.
Maps are either survivor sided or killer.
non existent events.. when was the last enjoyable event? (im not about double BP, talking more about the fun factor)
the community is more toxic then ever before
Bugs, Bugs, Bugs
Dedi servers, hitboxes etc
the list can go even further but lets stop here.
im not saying that BHVR havent done anything over the years, but for a supporter like me or other people.. or just people who play the game, is that really enough?
BHVR isnt a poor company, the community made them that what they are right now. we get all 1,5 months a update with 3 good changes, 5 changes nobody ask for. now seriously, how is it possible that a big company like behaviour changes just a little bit in 1,5 months?
Moris and keys, some killers (weak & strong), some maps, a lot of perks on both sides (too weak or too strong) did not get touched for years or even months.
you guys focus on changes nobody asked for, or just unnecessary changes while the community who made you something.. (call it rich or a known company) dont get any attention.
well for my part im done supporting BHVR financially, the day they start carring more about the community im happy to start supporting you again.
You know what BHVR.. you're actually lucky.. you have such a great community who play your game and support you, always have hope to get the changes people need and want, there are a bunch of fun and addicting games maybe nothing like dbd but a lot of games, if i was you i would really show some apprecation to your communtiy honestly, but im not you unfortunately.
just dont F.. this up guys, it would be sad when a game like DBD dies one day.
Survivor sided or killer sided after they shrunk the map sizes and fixed god loops? 😂😂😂 every map is pretty much killer sided. Killers move too fast for the current map size imo. Couple that with the speed which they can down someone and how easy it is to find survivors due to complete lack of hiding in this game/slow walk speed it’s ez 4K for killers in most of these games. And I’m running in lobbies with red rank killers/survivors. Killers are OP.

@justalilbit123 said:
Honestly, I only play this game to have fun. Here is a list of why red ranks killer isn't fun.
- If you don't play perfectly, the game ends in 6 to 8 minutes. Not enough time to enjoy the match.
- Survivors regularly bring oppressive items. (Keys, Syringes, Styptics etc)
- Survivors regularly run extremely unfun crutch perks. (Decisive Strike)
- Survivors who want to win will split up on 4 different gens and there is absolutely nothing you can do to get more than one of them off in a timely manner
- The safe loops in this game are too safe and too numerous in how many exist in any given map
As killer, the exact same problems still exist that did years ago. Survivors are in complete control of the match. After 2000 hours I have come to know that Survivors who want to win will win 99% of the time. Survivors that are doing gens constantly, bam bam bam bam bam gens gens gens, wasting no time crouch walking around dumpsters or doing dull totems or even cleansing Ruin/Undying. Gens gens gens. When they do that, you feel helpless. What? How did 3 gens finish in the first chase? It's not just me either. I've watched a lot of the community's favorite streamers suffer the same experience. Otz, OhTofu, Truetalent mostly.
Boom boom boom gens done game over.
I don't think increasing gen repair time is the answer either. But, I really wish something would be done. I just want so desperately for this game to be fun at the competitive level but it isn't. It just feels so unfair all the time.
This game is the most fun at ~ 12 - 15 minutes a match, lots of chases and back and forth moments. Just like how games ending in mere minutes to gen rush isn't fun, so is slaughtering a bunch of noobs unfun. I don't want to 4k every match, I don't even care about kills. I just want to have fun and right now... yeah, it just isn't. Survivors jumping in lockers in front of me because they have DS from being hooked even though I wasn't chasing them. Unhooking in front of my face. Keys every other game. Syringers/Styptic pretty much every single game.
I guess i'll just play civilization?
This game is still super killer sided. The majority of loops are actually horrendous for survivors. Killers walk around them with ease. They can get you on the other side almost immediately after you’re done vaulting by lunging around the wall/debris. It’s ridiculous.

@AnnoyingNarrator said:
If you had to ask me what the most useful survivor perk in the game was, I would have to say Dead Hard. Is the perk super powerful? No. Does it stop any tactics like decisive strike? No. So why is it the most useful?
As the title states, it gives way too much value to any survivor using it. But what do I mean by value? When I say value, I am referring to the benefits the perks give you at the cost of using it. For example, sprint burst can be used against killers like Ghost Face to avoid getting instantly downed and get to a loop, but you have to walk everywhere and you can't use other exhaustion perks. Dead Hard, on the other hand, has no downsides to running it. You can still run other exhaustion perks, (mind you still shouldn't do it, but it is better than running say lithe and sprint burst together.)
But what about the benefits? Dead Hard is, without a doubt, the most versatile exhaustion perk in the game. The only times it is not useful is if you are getting instadowned, but only a select few things can do that (*insert chainsaw noises*). So what does Dead Hard let you do?
- It lets you make it to a Pallet or Vault that was just a little too far.
- It lets you, at any time, make some distance between you and the killer.
- It lets you dodge attacks by phasing through the killer.
That is a lot of things that just one perk enables you to do. That is the problem with this perk, it is just ONE perk. The value you can get from compared to what you are giving up makes it a no brainer to use. So how do you fix it? Simple. You just split the perk. Make one perk that is based around Use 1 and 2, and make another perk that is based around Use 3.
Overall, the perk is not overpowered, it just needs to have a higher opportunity cost to make other perks more worth running.
Killers are ridiculously OP as it is because of speed, small map size and abilities and the option to equip Mori’s to kill faster. You’re complaining about a perk that lets the survivor dodge an attack prolonging the chase for only a few seconds longer? 😂 killer perks are the ones that need to be checked. Pop needs to get nerfed. Killers get way too much info from perks too imo.

This post is laughable. Killers still have the upper hand in this game. It’s ridiculous how OP they are and people will complain about the already slow gen speed lol put on some perks that slow it down more and gens just don’t get done. I’ve been playing this game for years on both sides. Killer wins way more than survivors do unless you’re just a really bad killer.
