I've had my fair share of games done in under 5 minutes by survivors rushing the gens optimally but this is just on a whole new level, 4 gens done in about 3 mins exact and Tru3 only engaged in about 2 chases which ended pretty quick up until the point when the fourth popped.The devs always say they want the game to be fun for both sides but the recent patches that have been going through prove otherwise and the lack of bug fixes on the killer side, it seems to me that BHVR doesn't care enough about their killer player base to even mention all the issues that have been present since these patches went through starting from the Cursed Legacy DLC that introduced the sound bugs.
Same can be said the other way around. 3 survivors hooked in under 3 minutes. It happens on both sides. Killers actually win way more than survivors do. Bad killers allow 4 gens in under 3 minutes.

not when the killer wins every damn time lol this game is broken

Very simple solution. Wait 98 hours and your ban should regress. Just tell us if the ban regresses to 42 hours or 5 minutes. Would be nice for the record.
Maybe I should just log in and keep banning myself to see how high it can go. At this point I’m pretty done with the game. I can’t win when I am walking on egg shells in fear of the game crashing again leading to an even higher ban timer. Nah, it’s just not worth it. It sucks because I really love this game but it literally doesn’t help or try to resolve any issues nor do the support team. They tell me “Thank you for reaching out.
The disconnect penalties are completely automated and as such, support is unable to cancel or modify any existing bans or accumulated points, nor are we able to turn off disconnect penalties for a specific player.”
yeah okay thanks BHVR for leaving me with no options. Why is there an “appeal penalty” tab if you are just going to send me this message?

Well I mean...many other people in the community don't have the problem that the game is crashing. So it is just normal to assume that it has do you with your PC or your internet connection and not with the game itself.
Not a very helpful response, I agree on that, but the game runs smoothly for the majority of players.
The only thing I can recommend at this point is playing on lower resolutions. Since the new graphic updates have been released, playing on Ultra or high has become very laggy, at least for me.
It doesn’t run smoothly though. I see people dc in cross play all the time.
it cannot really be argued against that this penalty system needs to work differently. It needs to do 1 of 3 things bare minimum. Every other dc penalty I know of has a certain level of fairness attached to it in the case that it could have been a mistake. This one doesn’t. And it’s keeping me from playing the game. Time to call my bank and dispute any charges related to this game and get my money back. Because I feel robbed of my money when this kind of stuff happens.

@AskingForHelp dude, I was agreeing with you in a passive way cause I had this same issue happening. I was just telling you what a community mod said to me to dismiss the issue and not actually fix anything. If they blame us then there's no problem on their end, only on ours.
And we pay these people to screw us out of our experience? Survivor side feels incredibly neglected. The amount of bugs, glitches and crashes are insane. Top that off with a connection issue here and there and you find yourself at 72 hours. Typical BHVR way of handling things, why fix the reason people disconnect to prevent people from disconnecting when you can penalize them for it instead 😂👌🏼 Makes Perfect sense

Ouch. That is certainly unlucky, but again - DC Penalties are needed for this game. Do I wish the bugs and crashes were sorted out before? Yes, yes I do - but DC's, intentional or not, ruin the game for the other players, and the game has no way of knowing whether you DC'ed on purpose or not.
Everything aside, I hope you figure it out.
It’s not unlucky, it’s a matter of time before the next ban comes. I’m walking on egg shells. And the company doesn’t want to help you recover your account when mishaps occur? Why would I support a game like that? But it sucks because I really do enjoy playing it. Yet it’s literally telling me I can’t play it every time I wait to play it again. I shouldn’t have to go through this. The first few times I DC’d was because my character got stuck in place or the game was being held hostage. I figured I could use the first few small bans on that kind of stuff that wasted an incredible amount of time in each match. Then I’ll hold off for awhile. But then your internet drops or someone unplugs it. Then the game crashes next time when you spawn in. And voila here I am at 72 hours. It compiles quickly and tbh it doesn’t need to exceed 24 hours. That’s just ridiculous

Don't worry buddy. @MandyTalk informed me that it's our fault their game bans people because it's our responsibility to not have "bad internet". I literally told them I play destiny 2 daily with zero lag ever and yet, it's still my internet's fault and not the development teams fault. Don't worry behavior just blames us now so they don't have to address issues.
You guys are clearly not reading the post correctly. The game crashed after spawning in. That is not an internet issue. That is a game related issue. The bugs causing players to be stuck in place. The latency issues, connection drops. These are all contributors to compiling DC penalty times that make the game unplayable. They need to fix it.
-
@gibblywibblywoo said:
This is OMEGALUL tier now. Sort out your connection or play something else.
It’s not my connection you clearly didn’t read the post. The game crashed as soon as I spawned in. That’s the games fault. They shouldn’t have a DC system in place For a game that cannot either
1) detect if it was intentional
or
2) allow a player to rejoin
or
3) has glitches, bugs and crashes

@ZerLukas said:
I wonder how many times do you need to disconnect to even get a penalty that long?
But the whole point of DC penaly is to not let people disconnect on a regular basis and it seems like that's exactly what you did so the penalty system does its job fine.
Not that long. Only a few times and you’re in the 24-72 hour range. It’s too harsh. they shouldn’t even have a DC system in place if they can’t fix the crashes or have a perfected game with no bugs. If they can’t do that don’t force people into being tortured and then ban them when they don’t want to put up with it and leave or the game crashes or the internet drops. Things happen. If you can’t install a dc system that allows you to rejoin before the match is over to prevent the ban from going into effect then you shouldn’t have a dc penalty at all. You have to give the player a way to avoid it SOMEHOW.

I have tried contacting support but they say “Thank you for reaching out.
The disconnect penalties are completely automated and as such, support is unable to cancel or modify any existing bans or accumulated points, nor are we able to turn off disconnect penalties for a specific player.”
that is incredibly frustrating. Until they fix the game where it doesn’t crash or ALLOWS YOU TO REJOIN Then they shouldn’t have a DC penalty. I know it is much needed but they need to be reasonable here as to how far the ban can get up to because you don’t need 24/48/72 hours to get the message across. This is a lazy mans dc system. They didn’t put any work into giving the player any other options in the event that it’s on accident. Add a Rejoin option or lower the maximum sentence or fix the crashes, fix your game. This isn’t acceptable.
-
How frustrating this is.
-
I’m getting tired of asking and contacting support submitting a ticket only to hear you can’t do anything to fix it or appeal the ban. So I just can’t play your game? 🤦🏽

You get put down every game 🔪🩸
i have weighed the differences in power for each side. Killer has it too good. Ez 4Ks 😆

Soo now it's killers problem if you don't know how to play against him?
You guys are funny 😂 I’ve been playing this game awhile now. There are some things about each killer that you can do nothing about. The main point is I think killers can patrol gens way too quickly. That’s got nothing to do with how to play against him it’s the simple fact that the maps aren’t designed well enough or big enough to provide survivability. I see too many dead zones where you can’t defend yourself, too many gens squeezed together, Bad baaaad bad pallet placements. A pallet should do it’s job and cut off a killer. It should never be placed between debris or a wall that the killer can walk around faster than you can drop the pallet, that’s dumb. It’s consistent I see each game people go down too quickly. I play killer, I find it’s rather easy not only to find survivors but to down them as well. There’s only so much beyond perks that you can use to counter killers. More often than not 3-4K a game easily for me. It’s not difficult. Survivors need a buff imo 👌🏼

Pls tell me this is a troll lol the problem isn’t the killer it’s survivors being rank 1 that don’t belong a good swf team will dominate a good killer just look at tournaments or streams of swf absolutely destroying almost every killer it’s bad ranking system not “killer op”
Killers are OP 🙈🤦🏽😂
-
how many games have you gone into where survivors aren’t doing their damn objective? I’ve played both sides it’s an issue for sure. Start a private lobby and have me as the killer I can help you understand what I’m talking about. You people deny it and yet I see it happen every game.
-
Quite frankly It is not even fun to die. It would be one thing if this was at least possible but it’s not. Friday 13th has so many fun ways to die.

The past few months of solo playing has made me consider playing only swf I feel like I’m doing most of the work and I’m almost always at the top of the leaderboard..it’s also extremely frustrating when my team mates go down within 5-15 seconds or drop pallets almost immediately or sit there and wait I just want a good ranking system
It seems this is a common problem because people don’t want to admit killers still have the upper hand even in a 1v4 game. They’ve made killers way too strong tbh. They don’t need everything they are given. I’ve realized that while playing both sides

Try having a 72 then going back on the game dcing and geting a other 72 LOL that is excessive
thats what just happened to me. I had a 24 and then the first game back my internets been working fine all day long. First game back it crashes towards the end of the match when it’s just me using the internet. Can players lag switch you? I don’t know. But I reset my router and i was banned for 48. Come on.... you’re making people quit playing altogether when you vehemently try to keep people in the game with a penalty. You can actually fix people from rage quitting if you fix the problems causing them to rage quit. You can fix the frustration of unfair banning by allowing them to rejoin and play once certain conditions are met. Or limiting the ban to no more than 1-2 hours. Maybe if you allow them to rejoin they would have to get rescued or unhooked if he was in a chase before he left (timer constantly decreasing until you return)

If a survivor DCs it's already a big boost to the killer, since it goes from a 4v1 to a 3v1. If the devs did what you're saying, it'd be even worse.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1715294#Comment_1715294
Whatever your reason, you ruined multiple players' trials and therefore should be punished for it.
Well how would that be worse to let them rejoin? How does it not make any logical sense to implement something like that? How would that make it worse for the survivors to get their teammate back when It’s actually ruining the game to keep them out of the match? they belong in that match. As long as you’re compensating the killer like.. say if he was in the middle of chasing that particular survivor, then you’re good. you’re not doing more harm that way😂😂😂😂
-
@Orion said:
If a few hours were enough, it wouldn't have reached 48 hours in the first place. In DbD, there's also no way to allow someone to reconnect without completely ruining the game's balance.
Not if you compensate the opposing side by making it progressively benefit them while hurting your team until you get back

Instead of quitting like a big baby and not being able to play for 48 hours, finish out your 5-10 minute match like an adult and then go do something else. Hell, suicide on the hook or even just walk away from the computer. Why do you absolutely, positively, HAVE to quit out?
Get your emotions under control.
I didn’t do it out of emotion
-
Now, that could leave many of you wondering well how could they if people might abuse it during chases? They would come back injured with a diminishing sacrificial bar passing through the hook stages quicker than normal. Something.... anything really besides it’s current state

Too many factors. The penalty needs to work exactly how it does now, otherwise it will be abused and makes it pointless.
I will agree that some of the penalty times are very excessive. I think a maximum 1 or 2 hour penalty is more than enough to put 99% of people off from disconnecting.
It would not render the penalty pointless if it worked another way than it currently does now. They could definitely alter it to give players another chance to rejoin but under certain conditions that doesn’t affect the killer negatively. For example, maybe immediately upon DCing the gradual diminishing of your sacrificial timer would go into effect until you rejoin. That’s the only thing that makes up for it imo. Where it harms your team like it normally would but doesn’t affect the killer. Allow a rejoin system!

24-48 hours is ridiculous man. I don’t even know when you get a clean slate again. But I can’t deal with this kind of penalty when there’s bugs and glitches everywhere. Internet crashes at random intervals (although mine is rather stable it does still happen occasionally due to others tampering with it or a possible crash which is fixable by unplugging it and plugging it back in)
still the penalties should not exceed a few hours I agree.

@Aven_Fallen said:
Why should it be removed? Quite happy that someone who either DCs on purpose or crashes out will not be in my game for 48 hours.
Dont DC, then you dont get a penalty. If you DC because the penalty is low, the Devs may take this as a hint that the penalty is TOO low.
If you crashed because of your internet connection, this is up to you. The other players in your game dont care if you DC intentionally or your Internet crashed, it is a 3v1 or a finished Match (if you were the Killer) at this point. You have to ensure that your connection is stable.
It is stable but people in the house sometimes either unplug it on their own not taking into consideration that I’m in the middle of a ranked match. Or the internet just stops working. I don’t know if someone can lag switch you in this game but it was kind of messed up that I was in game and the whole router just dumped out of nowhere until I reset it. The 24 hour ban before that was because someone unplugged it. I can’t play the game. And no matter how I explain this to anyone people will sit here and defend it to the teeth. It’s ridiculous. How about the devs establish a way to get back into the game and prevent the DC penalty before they enforce one.
-
Also, it could cost you one hook Each time and the timer would initiate to the next phase
-
@musefan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1715211#Comment_1715211
Lol. So whenever you get in a chase, just restart your router and rejoin the game and carry on unharmed.
Invincibility on demand.
Yeah I see where it could be abused but not really. You understand there is a process for your internet to boot back up and load the game. If they were in a chase (or not) They could always just Put that player in Spectator mode when they rejoin or just put a Sacrificial timer on them until they rejoin and while that timer is going they are dying in game. They would come back injured right where they disconnected. It would be the same as being hooked except you’re not hooked you’re standing right where you left off.

@Boss said:
If you accidentally disconnected because your internet was being screw-y, that tells the game that you don't have a stable connection, at least not at the time.
You must have that for the game, and the game can't help you with that, so it will punish you for not having it until you do have it.
Idk about the other stuff you mentioned, but a stable connection is pretty much required for online-only games.
Yeah I used the first few disconnects/took the small bans to get myself out of a bug or a glitch thinking I’ll be fine for awhile after the updates recently. and then my internet goes down on two occasions after that it’s quickly 24 then 48. I can’t even play the game. That’s ridiculous. I’m sorry but that’s not fair to the players if the game can not determine whether or not the DC was on purpose or it was an accident. Even if it can’t do that, at least provide a way to rejoin the match to receive maybe a lesser penalty. Whether that would put you in spectator mode or being able to play again under certain conditions. Rainbow 6 siege has a ban system that gives the player a second chance to avoid the ban. Otherwise you’re torturing your players.

Dumb. The DC penalty’s inability to determine whether or not it was on purpose makes it stupid to have in the first place. You ought to be able to have a chance to rejoin until the match is over to avoid it or take a lesser penalty. In a game filled with bugs and risk of internet issues or other frustrations setting in there needs to be more leniency.

You have admitted to purposefully disconnecting. You know there is a penalty, so stop disconnecting on purpose. No matter what the reason.
And how do you expect the game to know the difference between disconnecting on purpose, and internet issues? How is it supposed to know you don't purposefully reset your router?
i don’t rage quit. I used the first few for reasonable dcs such as bugs or inability to play the game. But add a few internet problems to top it off and this is where you find yourself. It’s kinda messed up and quite an excessive penalty. I just want to play the game.
-
I need help getting this removed. I was playing survivor repairing the last gen with another survivor and then my game just froze and I had to reset my router. I come back online and it’s 48 hours? 😓 screw this man. The game should be able to tell if you disconnected on purpose or not.

This game is already bad enough for survivors without Mori’s. Mori’s are overkill by a long shot. You don’t really get to play the game you pay money for in dead by daylight unless you are the killer. It’s completely ridiculous. These killers are pampered and tailored to so much compared to other games 😂 Friday 13 Jason has a lot to be worried about. In this game killers are handed free kills.
-
It’s interesting to see people defend killers and state that they are underpowered. But they definitely are the lower role in this game. From a 1v4 perspective not just a 1v1.
-
@Pawcelot said:
Things would look different if the matchmaking worked as intended.
Nah I don’t think that’s much of an issue. I see purple ranks surv against purple rank killers with the occasional red rank killer. But it’s quite astonishing how often survivors just simply die every game. Yeah it’s dead by daylight, name says it all. But it’s not fun to come in and die every game. 5 gens is actually quite a lot of work to do for 4 weak survivors that have very little survivability and ... at times, very little chances.
-

I’m curious to know how people feel when they get no kills in their matches? Do you rage? Do you blame yourself for it? Do you blame the survivors for being too good? Do you look back and see what you could of have done differently? Do you put on an ebony mori for your next match? Do you play a stronger killer next match? Personally when it happens I replay the same killer and think what I did wrong in the last match to help myself learn. What about you?
Lol. Does this even happen? Up to 2 kills are practically handed to you. Put in a little effort, you get 3K. Sweat a little, you get 4. This game is too easy for killers tbh. If you can’t get a kill it’s “what should you have done differently”
moris shouldn’t even be in the game. It rewards bad behavior or play styles
-
I have played this game on both sides for quite some time. I know what I’m talking about. It’s not the same in terms of fairness on both sides. Killers can crush their opponents every single game if they wanted to. It’s not difficult. And if it is.. then you have got to get yourself more tools to increase awareness in terms of perks, a headset and a quality tv. 3-4K every game. Way too many ways to get caught, not enough survivor perks to cover up your tracks. Not enough survivability.
-
@Creepa99 said:
I main both and I can say that as a solo queue survivor, killers are WAY too underpowered.
Killer is most definitely not underpowered you just don’t use the killer accordingly. Killers in this game are actually quite overpowered. As a killer you are given way too much to assist you in doing your job. The amount they are given excessively impedes not only on the survivors ability to do their job but also on a level where it’s actually not really fun to do it in the first place. I think it’s way too easy to find survivors and you have to be well organized to have a chance to win. But the killer has the advantage every single time if you’re not well organized. That’s not balanced at all. When you have maps this small that provide obvious hiding spots you don’t waste much of the Killers time therefore not providing your team enough time to do their job. Every game it’s constant gen pressure and even then I think killers are given too many ways of setting survivors back by regressing gens. There are no resets for survivors. You aren’t going to get time added to your sacrifice bar. Once it’s depleted, it’s done. But killers can continuously reset survivor objectives? That makes zero sense in terms of fairness.
