The cage spawning locations seem to be inconsistent with how they should be working. Normally you should be spawned away from the Killers onto the opposite side of the map but the spawning checks for anywhere that isn't around the shack side seem to be ignored. I made a post on this bug back in December of 2023, and since then nothing has been done about it. When Level 3 of Tome 17 released, there was a bug where players started that page of challenges at the Epilogue and had to work towards the Prologue.
