Do you use perks you don't like playing against?

I personally do not use any perks on killer or survivor i don't like playing against for example ds i think its a stupidly designed perks that i hate playing against because i dont tunnel but if i down someone after hooking 2 other people and get hit by ds it feels horrible and has lost me games or another one is deliverance its frustrating to hook someone in end game and they get off and get out the gate because of base kit borrowed time so i just don't run those perks. for killer i don't really have any none of the killers perks feels annoying on survivor the same way survivor perks do on killer but if they added one i didn't like playing into as survivor i wouldn't use it on killer. this idea comes from mtg commander we have a house rule that if you complain about a care and use it we clown on you. Do you do this or just use whatever you feel like even if you hate the perk on the other side?

  • I use the strongest perks that I can. I hate going against them but I know I will and I don't see a reason why I should nerf myself when nobody else does. It just makes my time playing the game harder for no reason. I mainly run a self-care build tho. The 2 perks I run that I dislike are Vigil and SB. I use Botany and Self-Care as the other two. I do however sometimes run a build that's Deli, DS, DH, and Adren.

thats fair i just personally want to let the killer have fun because i know how stressful killer is and i already escape most of my games where my team doesnt give up under hook

  • I do yes. Just because i dont like going against something that makes my job harder doesnt mean i dont understand that it needs to exist because i need a challenge and opponents need a challenge so im also using things they dont like either so its all good

  • The only perks I don't like are ones that are legitimately game breaking, like OG Mettle of Man, or bugged perks like how Streetwise was. As killer I only use slowdown builds if the killer/power/gameplay I'm going for can't secure quick downs and hooks, there's simply no other way to win.

As survivor I don't use 2nd chance or exhaustion perks, because I'd rather work on my looping than leaning on these perks and never improving. I'm even pushing myself away from Windows. I'm not such a god-tier survivor that I wouldn't benefit from those perks, but I do think they would hold me back from improving my performance.

i find im good enough on survivor to give the killer a challenge with out needing broken perks

a perk doesnt have to be broken to like or dislike it.

  • I use the perks i enjoy playing. I rarely use DS on survivor for example, because i don't enjoy the perk. I dom't mind vsing it as killer tho.

With killers thats another story. I would never touch ghoul again after i've seen the horrors piloting this killer do to the frontal lobe.

  • I guess the only perks i don't like going against are noed and devour hope. And i don't use them myself.

  • Perks, no not really. As one who SoloQs a lot I have no problem bringing good perks as I usually die in the end anyway. On Killer I usually run backpack build. I'd really like to have Turn Back The Clock, which does annoy me when killers use it, but I doubt it'll appear in the Shrine this year.

I used to be a Clown main, way back in the day before he had his yellow bottles. Easily have hundreds of hours playing him back then. Then I played a few matches against him as survivor and realized how awful it was to go against him, so I moved on to playing other killers.

  • I use every perk I don't like facing because they're useful, with the exception of dead hard. I hate that perk and everyone who uses it

  • If the dbd community didn't have double standards they wouldn't have any. Good that you are consistant.

  • Boil Over is an annoying perk that I'll never run on survivor again after getting the adept.

It's also just..not very good and you have to sacrifice a bunch of macro level game pressure just to get value out of it.

  • Not really. I hate SB and Vigil on survivor. I don't even have Vigil myself and don't often use Exhaustion. Only thing I really hate on killer is end game perks like noed or Remember Me. I think they're hella cheap.

There aren't many perks I hate though. Mostly it's playstyles combined with perks that I dislike. I had no problem with Infectious Fright and use it myself sometimes but the recent slugging bs has made me hate it.

  • Nope. I don't use corrupt, deadlock, pain res, dms or dh.

  • I certainly do.

Lithe is a good example. It can be obnoxious to go against if used right, but it being a strong perk means I will run it if I feel like it. Heck, it's part of one of my two Standard builds I have on all Survivors.

At the same time I have a build on Artist that has a perk & add-on combo aimed at shutting down Exhaustion perks.

    I regret nothing.

  • I love Head On into Flashbang. The ol' Bosh and Bang, as I call it.

But then someone does it to me…

  • depends, honestly. In general no I won't.

I despise Pain Res and DMS so you'll never see me run those. However, nothing will part me from my precious Mindbreaker.

I swear, Mindbreaker conjured itself in every match I equip Fogwise.

  • As a rule I don't tend to. I literally never use NOED unless i need endgame downs for a challenge. And as surv I do tend to avoid the more aggravating perks that I dislike such as boil over, head on, DS etc.

  • As killer, I rarely pick perks I don't like to go against when playing survivor. It's rare I'll take Pain Res or DMS outside of trying to buy time when experimenting with a killer I'm unfamiliar with. I prefer trying to make silly things work, or just bringing chase/carry perks to keep the game clean and efficient. I also think I will never ever bring Ruin. Ruin is currently my least favourite effect in the game to go against.

As survivor, sadly I'm a hyporcrite. While yes, I'll often go without any exhaustion, no DS and no genrush, such as a pure totem build or pure altruism/healing build, I will switch to DS/Plot/Lithe/Deja if I've been losing too much. So yeah, I try not to bring stuff I hate facing, but fact of the matter is they're just too useful.

  • I dont really have any strong feelings about individual perks. Theres some combinations I think is dumb and I dont agree with, but dont have an issue with the perks themselves.
