Discussions about the Entity's realm

Hello the community of Dead by Daylight and thank you for spending your time on reading the post. From the very beginning since the Stranger Things chapter released, i was always wondering if the gate on the Hawkins Lab could actually take The Survivor/ Killer into the another dimension. For all we know, every trial is happening in one world-Th3 comments 371 views last activity

Is there any lore based explanation that you can think of that can explain this? Also stuff like giving hatch, killer nodding, booping snoots, and general memeing.8 comments 151 views last activity

If you haven't read the new killer's story, here it is: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/183776/descend-beyond-character-lore About the Opium War I I found the Blight's (aka the Alchemist's) story heavily linked to the Opium War. More accurately, on a remote island of India, he experimented on the captured soldiers (and maybe citizens) of the Opium War I6 comments 811 views last activity

So, I'll start off by saying this was mainly taken from a different post where I discuss the killers that are "unwilling" to perform their duty as a killer. Basically think of Trapper with all of the iron hooks embedded into his flesh. But this theory moves away from that, and talks about a common theory, which is basically confirmed in my opinion, and gives examples for four of the original kill36 comments 931 views last activity

There seems to be a clear split amongst the killers when it comes to how they got into the Entity's service: those it tricked/manipulated/totured into its service, and those that came willingly. But has anyone ever sat down making a list of which killer goes where? I mean, Wraith, Trapper and Deathslinger have been manipulated/tricked/tortured into the service for example... Ace Visconti has bet $100 he could survive 5 minutes in a fight with David King. The conditions are simple: if David knocks Ace out, he wins. If Ace stays conscious for t minutes, he wins, and David buys the entire pub a round of drinks. Who would win?10 comments 122 views last activity

So I was reading some comments about escaping the entity's realm and one of them mentioned about survs meeting in real life. It would be a shock for them. They would probably think it was a nightmare. They go to a vacation to china and they see feng and realize it wasn't a nightmare. LoL. Or they are camping in a forest and they see meg running XD0 comments 31 views last activity

I kinda feel like there's unfathomed potential here. Mason Kelly shows up in Caleb's lore several times: His wanted poster is one of Caleb's addons, it's him who Caleb catches after his leg got shot to pieces, and it's Kelly's gang who kidnapped five of Caleb's men, leading to the Glenvale Massacre. And Kelly might be the bounty who escaped twice from the thorns add-on. I'd really love to know1 comments 91 views last activity

How do we have teachables then? Granted, resetting survivors back to day one every time they die certainly makes logistic sense from the Entity's perspective, but it doesn't seem like that's what's happening in-game. How would survivors ever "go hollow" or whatever its called and be sent to the Void when they aren't useful to the Entity anymore? Most of28 comments 2,332 views last activity

VHS porn's item description is "An all time classic". Now let's look at some dates. VHS was invented in 1977, Clown was born in 1932 making him 45 at the time (his age will be important for later). During the late 70s and mostly 80s who was a prominent figure in the adult film industry? That's right Ron Jeremy a "classic" adult entertainer who first started in 1979. It should be noted that the Omniverse mentioned in Tome II seems to indicate that Dead by Daylight exists in a multiverse that the Entity is able to travel though, in addition to being able to travel through space and time. The Omniverse/multiverse explains the presence of licensed killers and survivors who cannot exist in the same universe ( Stranger Things features frequent references to The19 comments 2,112 views last activity

I'm assuming no. Maybe the entity can transform the survivors' hairstyles at their will. It obviously has the power to deform killers and give them superpowers, so why would it not be able to cut or transform hair? I'd like to see a barber survivor being added through DLC though, that'd be a cool character to play as. He/She would really keep a huge responsibility in keeping the morale of the s7 comments 181 views last activity

Now, it's clear that the outfits for no killer all stem from the same timeline. But especially with Caleb I wonder how much of the stuff in the outfit's lore and design happened to his main-verse self. What do we have consistently? His leg is injured in ALL outfits (there's also two bulletholes on his upper leg in the blackmount vest outfit iirc) his broken jaw the noose scar around his nec2 comments 81 views last activity

Why hooks? Are they really necesary? or lorewise there is more than just hooks? As we see, Pyramid Head use something else that hooks, he use cages, so that make me think that killers can put survivors on anything else For example, the Pig could use a chair trap, Freddy could use a bed or some demonic thing, Demogorgon, idk, but is weird looking at him putting survs on meat hooks2 comments 141 views last activity

Now, first of all, we can hopefully agree the Observer is not a neutral narrator. He interprets the memories etc he finds through the lense of his own believes and understandings. And going through the observation so far (don't have them for Tome IV yet, obviously) I'm brought to believe that the Entity is not only fully aware of him and his doings, but is toying with him, either to turn him int0 comments 91 views last activity

Firstly their characters must not get along with anyone. Cause they’re talking about some mind flayer guy controlling all of this. When the others are pretty sure it’s the entity. I mean Feng is probably laughing to herself about how they think someone from D&D is the master of everything. And then we also have the Paradox of Halloween existing in the Stranger things universe. Since his conception, Hillbilly was told to us as being the unnamed son to Max and Evelyn Thompson. Well, fast forward to the recent reworked Hillbilly, and we look at the new Common add-on 'Dad's Boots'; the description reads: "A pair of trusty boots, pulled from the corpse of Max Thompson Sr." ... you only call someone 'Senior' if they share the same name as their child. So, I tried to get 2 of challenges for Ace's lore(Go For Broke) and I didn't get both pages for it. If it matters, I completed the one that you have to burn or blind the killer and the one that you have to search 2 chests as Ace. And if this also matters, I did chest opening challenge first and did the second one with Meg.1 comments 31 views last activity

As a zarina main i really like her backstory, but one thing i noticed when she went to the hellshire prison into the deathslingers cell she found a mans body, this body is easily confermed to be henry bayshores body, but the body was just killed meaning that zarina was at the date of time that henry died, so what does this mean? Did the entity bring her back in time or what?1 comments 101 views last activity

There are a good few perks for survivors that aren't teachables from anyone specific, so I thought why not assign them to an existing survivor? the perks are Dark Sense , Déjà Vu , Hope , Kindred , Lightweight , No One Left Behind , Plunderer's Instinct , Premonition , Resilience , Slippery Meat , Small Game , Spine Chill , This Is Not Happening , and We'l3 comments 121 views last activity

So, here's my idea: not all the killers may really enjoy what they do. Let's think about, for instance, the wraith. He got insane after Discovering that he obliviously killed tens, maybe hundreds of people in the autohaven demolitions. Then he killed the one responsible and created a weapon out of his remains. The nurse had some trauma and killed the people at the hospital. And now, to use her po23 comments 831 views last activity

Seems like after the Clown, no killer have gotten a quote from Benedict Baker about his encounter with said killer. And I dunno, it was a very small but tremendously powerful bit of Lore as it told us a bit about the Entity's Realm and what the survivors see and experience. @not_Queen @Peanits Do you know the reason behind why it was removed?19 comments 1,671 views last activity

I'm posting this in the "Lore" thread because there's nothing gameplay-related in this post; it's just something I feel the need to vent about. I really REALLY don't like Legion, thematically. It is painfully obvious that Legion was just shoehorned into DbD when Deathgarden failed, to get a quick cheap killer out of salvaging assets from Deathgarden, was hastily thrown together, AND was OP at fi2 comments 181 views last activity

The devs have stated in the past that they are not going to do Tomes for already established characters and want to focus on their own characters. However... The Ghostface that resides in-game is technically not licensed and is an original character that only utilizes the costume. Therefore, I think is completely appropriate that he should have his own Tome. I would love to know more about this3 comments 131 views last activity

Just (re)watch 1999 classic "The Mummy" on Netflix and thought how it will be a perfect idea for a DLC . We got everything, a scary killer, an hero explorer and a crazy pyramid map with lot of traps everything.. plus just imagine the mummy mori, eating survs souls like in the movie, or letting the scarabs do the job... 😈 I let you write the perks, guys..1 comments 42 views last activity

Dbd is a horror game and as such I think it makes sense for them to keep the horror title, to acquire licenses that also hold the horror title like Halloween or A Nightmare On Elm Street, or make their own original horror creations. But with the release of the Stranger Things chapter, I think this was the first instance of them doing something that can still be seen as horror, but has a lot more0 comments 42 views last activity

A lot of the things that at first glance should be gameplay mechanics have their lore in-universe. Just not things like disconnects and hatches and their keys. maybe even moris. Is there another eldritch being meddling into the Entity's affairs that provides this? Is it in lack of a better word benevolent to the survivors? Or is it even worse than the Entity at bottom line?2 comments 91 views last activity

I know people might think kids in DBD might sound extreme, and it sort of is, but would it be such a bad idea to add preteens as killers and survivors. I was thinking around the ages of the kids from Stranger Things like in Season 3. I think in Season 3 they were around the ages of 13-15. So maybe licensed or original survivors around that age? For killers, would it be such a bad idea for mayb1 comments 101 views last activity

She is simply a vessel for the real killer, the Plague. Adiris herself is not the killer, otherwise she would be titled 'the Priestess' or 'the Devotee'. Really, she doesn't even have a weapon, it's just a censer dangling by a chain. It's the Plague that she's host to that weakens and incapacitates the survivors to the point where Adiris can seize them and offer them to the Entity as a sacrifice.7 comments 351 views last activity
