  • This is an issue with the DBD servers...again. It's not your internet or anything, just a broken game.

  • Every single update they release has this annoying issue it seems like. Though this time they're letting it drag out for too long. It's happening to everyone, I believe.

  • Old thread, but the devs will most likely tell you to "play a different game". Cuckolds

There is no such add-on or offering in the game that removes hook states.

Which killer were you playing against? If it was an Executioner (Pyramid Head) and he sent you to a Cage of Atonement prior to you being hooked, then it would make sense for you to be within the struggle state, as Cages will contribute progression towards hook states.

It was a deathslinger. Nothing seemed fishy about him the whole game until I started noticing people dying too quickly on the hook. I didn't even see them try to free themselves, they just immediately went into the struggle state.

Second wind is fun and may help you against tunnelers if you are a strong looper, just bring DH with it just in case.

I can loop, but not for long. My movements seem predictable after looping for a while though.

  • Oh okay. I get it now. I was gonna say why does it go down for everyone else but me lmao.

there are a few ways to kill a survivor without having to hook them first.

one would be the Cypress Memento Mori, as it will allow the killer to kill the last remaining survivor in the trial with no additional requirements.

another one would be Devour Hope, which allows the killer to kill and instadown a survivor when a certain hook save threshold is met. this perk however requires these unhooks to happen far away from the killer and is bound to a totem, so its destroyable. however, once he reaches 5 unhooks, he can go and kill whoever he sees.

the third option would be rancor, though this perk only works when the 5th generator is repaired and only on the obsession.

i believe thats all the options there are at the moment.

the thing you are describing seems to be a fully stacked Devour Hope play - if he didnt have that perk equipped, i dont know what happened (maybe you did get hooked, but forgot it later down the line? dunno)

As far as I remember he had just the offering. And I don't believe I was ever hooked. I mean, I was buzzin a little so maybe lol.

Were you the obsession, as he could have been using rancor. He also could have been using devour hope.

If neither of them I'm pretty certain he was cheating.

Edit: Also if it was a Pyramid head then he can mori you after being in a cage.

I was not the obsession and the killer was the hag. And the only thing I saw they had at the end of the match was the offering Ebony Mori. It just didn't make sense to me. I'm still newish so I'm not sure if it's a cheater or just a really overpowered offering.

  • I'm not sure about this but there is an easter egg in midwich. I don't know all the steps exactly, but it involves the clocktower. Doing certain generators in a certain order will open it up revealing an artifact from the silent hill games. I don't remember what it's called, but it's pretty interesting. You can't collect it, but there is a chest with random loot in there.

  • Can someone inform me what "99" means?

  • I haven't been around for the other events, but I can say I do like this one. Sure there's not that much to it, but I'm really liking it. I'm just glad to have new content.

  • I would say the Legion. I know it's a scrub killer. Or from what I've heard. Normally when I'm the Legion, I can get a 4k pretty easy. With the other killers, it's a little tricky and I end up feeling stupid. Then again the Legion is the only one I really put most of my time into.

  • No, sorry. It would be cool I guess. But seeing him in DBD would just end up making me laugh. I'd see it more as a meme than a badass new killer.

  • I've had this happen before. First time it happened, I was thinking how is this allowed? The only way I can see countering this is letting the person stay on the hook while everyone else fixes gens. If I'm the one on the hook and I'm dealing with a camper, I just purposely die and que for the next game. Camping needs some sort of fix, that's for sure.

  • I play as Cheryl and I normally have the blood pact perk which lets the obsession and I see each other if one of us is injured. I absolutely hate it when the obsession is coming in my direction with the killer on their tail. Like I don't want him anywhere near me, lol. Learn to lose them yourself, don't put me in this scenario. If I see an opportunity to get the killer off their back, I'll take it. But most of the time, I don't have one.

  • I'm kind of liking the event. Any event that takes place in this game is special for me. I'm new to the game, but I love it so far. I will admit it is a little strange event. What would you have wanted in the event instead? Just curious.

  • Seems like they were salty for an unknown reason. Or maybe they had to leave? Not sure. I'd say that's a pretty stupid playstyle. Not only did they lose, they also got a DC penalty. So keep that in mind. The killer lost because he decided to waste time on being angry over the game and targeting you.

  • I tried listening to music while playing the game and it doesn't work for me at all. I just have to have my full attention on the game with no audio disturbance lol.

it does satisfy them to get a 4k. Just because its an event doesnt mean the killers need to be nice. But dont worry, you'll get the crown. Keep trying and play smart !

I've already obtained the crown luckily. I kept hiding whenever I knew the killer was in my vicinity and ended up making it out somehow :)

Escaping doesn't happen often for me, but I'm glad it did this time especially when I had the crown.

  • I bet I can top yours.

Everygame, event, non event, I can't win. I get a win maybe once every 10+ games I put in. It's sheer dumb luck I win. I don't know if I could call it luck, since mine is terrible. This is every time I play too.

Unfortunately, most killers probably enjoy giving people a hard time. Maybe they don't want anyone getting event items just because it satisfies them? Who knows.

DBD is a beautiful game, but very broken.

  • I'm fairly new but I've had a few good times. Once I was fixing a generator without the killer in sight and there was only two of us left. The killer was pyramid head, I was cheryl, and no idea who ever the other dude was. He ended up getting hooked for the third time and died of course. So I was the only one left.

The killer ends up finding me but doesn't attack. He instead showed me to the escape hatch. Pretty awesome :)

  • Made a similar post to this, I'm usually the one on the hook and I'm pretty good at hiding. Just my luck though. I'd totally love to have this perk if it was in the game. Easily would be on every character.

  • Gonna agree with spork to be honest. Hitboxes are a little too large for survivors. How could the killer hit me if I already turned the corner?

    Nah, definitely not latency issues.

  • Well, I had no idea they tried the "vicinity of the hook" thing already. Although I will disagree that it's an efficient way to play killer. If that's how the game is, then the only enjoyment any could receive from DBD is actually playing the killer themselves. I haven't been playing long enough to experience the buffs or debuffs anyone has received. As of right now, all I know for sure is that survivor takes a considerable more amount of skill than playing killer does. And normally, a new player chooses survivor. But I guess that's personal preference.

I know something needs to take place for these actions because I know Behavior would like everyone to have a great experience. None of my ideas have to apply. Especially since I'm still considered a "newbie" and I'm still learning about the game itself and its community. I hope they could come up with a way to deal with these issues in a balanced way because I can see how difficult it would be.

New killers should learn that the key to winning the game is to keep the stress balanced between all four survivors and not just the one. BUT on the brightside, I guess survivors do have more time to repair gens while the killer is busy wasting time on one person.
