  • Good point about the keys. Locking a door might detriment survivors as a trade-off for getting rid of a strong door sooner by forcing a killer to break it, or somehow only allow survivors through unless the killer breaks it down

  • Yeah, I spent 7200 shards out of my saved up 9200+ shards just for the Legion's mask, but I'm still pissed that I effectively lost 4200 shards, enough for another piece and almost half of another, because I was unaware they were going to backpedal and put a bandage over it by reducing shard price (nothing has ever gone on a shard sale before so I couldn't anticipate either)

That is, if they lived in the same universe. The Observer mentions that there are many different variation of Earth. If they did live in the same universe, than, hypothetically, others could have as well. IIRC, Jake also was in the set that came with Chalet Getaway.

Jake was in the set yeah, but his skin was just called 'woodworker' and talked about working in the woods which he does normally so it's not as related. And you're right about them possibly being in different universes, but it's still plausible they were

  • To the people saying 'lorewise this never happens' I'm pretty sure the devs say sometimes killers can show mercy, like the Pig. The Entity allows killers to kill survivors by their own hand if they 'earned' it with memento moris and the Entity doesn't get any sustenance, so why couldn't the killers be allowed to occasionally spare someone? Means the same to the Entity, killed or spared.

  • The Entity does not work in such a narrow scope. It has consumed entire worlds. The characters we see and play as in the game are very, very far from being the only survivors and killers in the Entity's realm. There are likely millions, maybe more, trapped in the Entity's realm at one time. Just because it failed to grab one survivor does not mean it's going to starve.

  • I believe that the crows are simply the Entity's creation, as they're present in every map and fade away like the Entity's claws on struggle phase as well as being described as the Entity's servants. However, every other creature is recreated from the memories of the killer, for example the Doctor remembered the old hospital being infested with rats so they were created along with the rest of the map from his mind.

It's probably because the demogorgon is much more controllable for the entity than the other killers. All the other killers are human to some degree, and as such could probably resist the effects of the fog as well as ignore the entity (As shown by Rancor and Devour Dope, especially Michael with the kill survivors addons), and mainly do the entity's bidding because. Demogorgon is fully under the entity's control since it's bestial and was already susceptible to control (probably).

I'm pretty sure Demogorgons are pretty susceptible to control, given that the Mind Flayer from the show controls the entire species to do its bidding

Flip Myers to Antagonist and Deathslinger to Protagonist and I agree.

Myers is too evil to not want to kill anyone he deems as competition. Sure, he may hate the Entity for controlling him but he came here willingly remember. The Deathslinger, however, is being led along to believe that the Survivors are the bullies who abused him, the wealthy men who stole from him, and the Warden and Bayshore, as shown in the final chunk of his lore (this also explains why Spirit kills so openly, she sees her dad in the survivors, causing her to be full of rage). He's seeing a reality created for him by the Entity so he has no problem taking "coin" for killing those he sees fit to die. But remove this glaze over the eyes and the story changes. The Deathslinger realizes he isn't killing/offering bounties that are the people he hates most for a client, he's a pawn in a celestial being's game, killing innocent people to feed a powerful space monster. Caleb isn't inherently evil, cruel, yes, vengeful, absolutely, but keen on killing innocents? Why'd he choose to kill the thief who robbed the store instead of some random civilian? He had the prison Warden protecting him from swinging, he had a golden ticket to maim and murder and he chose not to. He's not a psychopath.

Basically, this is just like when the Warden sold the prison to Bayshore. It caused Caleb to realize his role in the world, he's not a bounty hunter, he's a pawn. He would probably go as far to work with survivors considering how furious he is likely to get when he finds out he's being used. Caleb seriously has the potential to be one of the biggest threats to the Entity because of his anger, so as long as the illusion is maintained, the Deathslinger will keep on killing.

Good point, I'll take that into consideration

What about vigo, the observer and benedict? Add in the list.

We don't even know if Vigo and Benedict are still in the Fog in the first place. As for the Observer, I'll add him

  • I don't know if the known timeframe or locations line up, but they do admittedly look very similar

    image.png

However their hairstyle goes in different directions, Uncle Brass has pointed ears, and Archie's face looks a little slimmer. It's a cool idea but I'll have to hear more about the time and places to conclude for sure, since their appearance isn't exact

It's pretty clearly established that Rin uses the wakazashi (short sword) and Kazan uses the katana (long sword), even though Rin's is called a katana. Since the swords were a set, it would make sense they have matching hilts.

It's Rin's sword being called a katana that got me

  • Retcon maybe, or something they didn't have space for. It was probably going to be foreshadowing that her father had ancestral rage like Rin does

Trapper is pansexual and aromantic. Years of abuse and betrayal have led him to abandon the ideas of romance and commitment. He's DTF anyone and everyone, but cringes at the idea of a relationship. Based on some of his cosmetics, I can't see Trapper being 100% straight tbh lol.

    What

  • Not if our rag-tag group of heroes have anything to do about it! If they stick together and remember to do what's right they can do anything they set their minds to!

But in seriousness the Entity is multiversal, so Earth and humans are, and have been, screwed a million times over. We can't even be sure all of the playable (non-licensed) characters are from the same universe

  • The Entity. We know more about the Entity's strength and abilities than the Mind Flayer though. All we know about the Mind Flayer is that it lives in a parallel universe tied to a specific universe and has trouble exiting, and can also possess humans if it's lucky. The Entity meanwhile we know has consumed entire worlds.

I always had theory that Entity is able to kidnap survivors from original locations to it's own created copy of these locations. So, bypasser didn't catch difference at first, but then he realised that he in trial.

What exactly does that last sentence mean..?

  • The Entity's only prerequisites for the killers it takes up are 1. They must be willing to serve or easily broken 2. Must be or have great potential to be a killer 3. Come from a place of 'great tragedy' (the Entity is drawn to such places)

The Plague is the real killer, not Adiris. If Adiris was the true killer, the killer name should be something like 'The Priestess'. Adiris merely wields the Plague as a weapon. The Entity was drawn to ancient Babylon due to the mass deaths caused by the Plague and chose Adiris to represent it in the Fog because she is strong and highly devoted to the Entity, believing it to be her god. So in summary, Adiris herself did not kill in her life and she tried to do what was right, but due to the Entity's deception and the disease she has she met all the criteria for a good servant.

With the release of the “Switch” Trapper outfit, I am starting to think that that descriptions is not exactly canon and those similar to it that are taking about past of the character are more what if, because they tend to be contradictory from what we know, like in the Trapper, the description said that he was basically already dressing up and putting traps in the mines against employers as a teen, which doesn’t fit at all with not only what we found about him in the Archives, but also contradicts the video in which the father is the one secretly killing his employers:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/568/1C3QLQLOJBP0.png

And really, even some survivor outfits are dubious, like the one where Claudette wins a prize, except in canon she was still in college when she was taken:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/371/A98GMIGR7B25.png

Same with the New Year outfit of the Hillbilly, because those burns are never to be seen in his normal outfit, so he should have them if that did happen given that I doubt Billy has the means to treat himself. So, with that info, it is safe to think that this info is not exactly canon, more of a what if.

I never took the 'traps' Evan would make for employees as deadly, but more like pranks. They were his friends, after all. Plus, a 'delinquent' doesn't murder.

As for Claudette, tutoring programs are often run by students. In my school I knew more senior tutors than graduate tutors

  • The way I see it, all of the cosmetics are either relics from their past (all the cosmetics with a story behind them like Oni's wolf outfit and Claudette's lab intern outfit), mish-mash conjurings of various thoughts and memories (L4D crossover outfits), other survivor's stuff, or natural progression of the survivor/killer in the Entity's realm (Hallowed Blight, prestige). The devs said most cosmetics are found in the Fog, like how things are found in the Bloodweb.

  • Ghostface stole it and goes for joyrides between trials

  • Do you mean Benedict Baker?

Ah, but Trapper was chained in his realm. I believe the cutscene takes place in Ironworks. All of them probably received similar treatment within their realms.

But what about the Alchemist injecting them? In the Alchemist lore video he injected the Trapper and that wasnt in a trial. So if the Trapper was just waiting in his map, the Alchemist wouldnt be able to chain him up and do that

The cutscene has a generator present, powered to provide energy to the workshop. If you look in the background of the scene where Trapper is injected, there is indeed a hook as well, so it definitely takes place within some realm

Survivors retain their memories of past trials, even after death or sacrifice. Benedict Baker confirms this after waking up at the campfire.

I think a character wearing different cosmetics is a character from a different universe/timeline. That is why it’s possible to have more than one of the same Survivor in a trial, and why the same Killer can be encountered wearing different cosmetics.

I like to imagine that changing your cosmetics literally changes your character to a different version of them with different memories and experiences.

With so many different cosmetic combinations that one can make, this implies that The Entity has collected a near endless amount of Survivors and Killers based on different versions of them alone. Not to mention all the characters we’ll never even see like Benedict Baker and The Smasher.

I mentioned this in the original post. The devs confirmed there is only one of each survivor and killer in the Entity's realm

  • Myers and Rin are too powerful in some way to be completely controlled by the Entity. The Spirit is immensely rageful and Myers is evil incarnate. As for the Hag, no clue. Devour Hope states that her hunger grows based on the hope of the survivors, like how the Entity feeds on hope. I think when the Hag kills a survivor in this way the Entity still is able to 'devour hope' from them, canonically, as if they died on a hook. Or the Hag gets stronger with the survivor's hope like the Entity and gets strong enough to make her own decisions. Either way, the Hag shares the same hunger as the Entity for some reason.

I'd like some info on what everyone does between trials out in the Entity's realm. Do killers have their own shacks and places of rest or do they just stumble around in the forest until the next trial? Do they have areas to interact and torture survivors or do they only meet in trials? Do killers and survivors eat or sleep? I just wanna know more about the entitys world because from the alchemists story we know it's more than just trials.

The devs confirmed that the killers wait in their respective maps until the next set of survivors come in. Leatherface just hangs out in the Grim Pantry I guess, since that map was added with him and the cannibalism relation... but for Ghostface I have no clue. Maybe he can wander because in his lore he went from one place to another to conduct his killings.

The devs also said that killers know of each other and some could even have small rivalries or respect for each other. Makes me wonder if this is only for the ones that have shared 'realms' like the Plague and Huntress in the Red Forest or Leatherface and Hag in Backwater Swamp, or if they have occasionally met outside of them or even in each others realms somehow.

As for eating and sleeping, I don't know if the Entity can suppress those needs or not, but it could easily use them to its advantage, like starving the Hag and Demogorgon to make them more ravenous

Wasn't the first time we saw Kate when she was being stalked by the Clown while playing her guitar? Does this mean that Kate is secretly related to Kenneth Chase?

They wanted a character who could fit in with the chapter.

Look at the last few chapters.

Darkness Among Us gave us a direct link between Legion and Jeff, and their themes match up. Jeff is the big, strong, scary guy, but he's just a sweet teddy bear. The Legion are the last people you would expect as horrible monsters, but here they are.

Demise of the Faithful's connection isn't as strong, but both Adiris and Jane strongly believed in what they were doing, until it was too late to stop themselves.

Going as far back as Shattered Bloodline, where Rin was introduced, both Adam and Rin had ties to Japan. Where Rin's family line was shattered by her father, Adam lost his father at a young age, and we never hear about his mother. Bloodline shattered.

Now, Cursed Legacy. Kazan was the start of the curse that affected the Yamaoka's, leading to a cursed legacy. How about Yui? She had a strong following, and left a lasting legacy behind her when she vanished. But how did she get there? Disowned by her father, pick on by the boys of Hida, unable to find a real job in Nagoya, forcing her to spend the last of her grandmother's money in a last ditch effort to follow her dreams, attacked by a stalker, severely injured by said stalker. Sounds like that legacy was pretty cursed to me.

Also, how exactly would Kazan even know about Yui when they are several centuries apart? Last I checked, the Killers have no access to the outside world once they are taken.

As I said, it's basically baseless speculation. I only came up with the idea to explain the Oni's line in the trailer and why he specifically approaches her the moment she enters the Fog, as well as why the Entity could open a hole to its realm at a specific place and why it'd want to capture Yui specifically. I'm well aware that the survivors are hardly literally related to any killer or other survivor, but I felt this headcanon ties up a few minor loose ends. It's not impossible, you just have to make certain assumptions, and I like to think it's true because it ties the lore together just a little more

well The Oni is part of blood line of the Yamaokas, he was the son of first Yamaoka

I don't understand what you're telling me... The Oni being a Yamaoka is not only extremely basic knowledge, but it's the basis of this entire headcanon

  • Don't forget the 'grim grin' masks the Oni got

If you read the lore or use common sense, the Entity is an intelligent being. It is known as an ancient. It knows how to probe memories and suppress them. It picks out people that don't know about it. I think these things show it is in fact intelligent.

It is an organic being, and seems to not be the only one of its kind, which means that it likely undergoes evolution via natural selection. As such, there would be great selective pressure to take the weakest prey (unknowledgeable of you) and manipulate them most effectively. I don't think the fact that it does this necessarily confirms it's intelligent

  • @Bradyguy99 said:

Why would she need more then one? Also if she takes too many the thing (I forgot its name) might notice. Unless... they're the same..... plot twist.

The survivors and killers we're allowed to play as/against are very likely not the only killers and survivors the Entity has at this 'time', and it wouldn't run only one trial at a time. Demogorgons are highly effective and efficient killing machines by nature. Having an alternate universe full of these things would be a goldmine. Personally I believe that Demogorgons are not created by the Mind Flayer but were taken over by it, so the Entity could simply go back to a time before the Mind Flayer would be around, but that's not canon.

  • I mean, Demogorgons are clearly a species of animal that reproduce likely asexually so there is probably a population of Demogorgons inhabiting the Upside-Down. If I were the Entity I would take as many of them as possible lol

I agree with most of these except Nurse. Remember, Nurse is a breath spirit. Her element is air. Her being in the area is enough to give you a lot of difficulty breathing, according to the description of Stridor. Her theme is suffocation, and she is a ghost. Idk if the Demo has to breathe oxygen, but Nurse wouldn't be a stalemate if it does.

I forgot about that. Even if the Nurse could weaken the Demogorgon by making it difficult for it to breathe, the bonesaw would still not be able to kill it. We can't know if the Nurse can suffocate things without touching them, and I doubt the Nurse could get her hands around the Demogorgon's neck (let alone enough to cut off its airflow), so it's probably still a stalemate unless Nurse can deprive it of enough oxygen for a sufficient amount of time.

I dunno my dude...if Steve and Nancy can take on the Demogorgon I think that some killers would stand a chance. Myers has never been killed and has great physical strength. He’s no pushover.

Saying all that, none of the killers would stand a chance against Eleven though. Poor Demo couldn’t do anything.

Nancy shot the Demogorgon with a full clip from a pistol, then it got surprise attacked by a man with a spiked baseball bat. Steve only disoriented and pushed back the Demogorgon, where it got caught in a bear trap before being set on fire. The fire made it retreat. Not to mention, the Demogorgon in S1 is much smaller than the one in DBD (from S3). I believe the Demogorgon would have killed Jonathan, Nancy, and Steve if Steve had not got the jump on it and backed it into a trap. That being said, Michael is a single man who, in a 1v1 with no prep, would not be able to get a surprise attack on the Demogorgon. Michael is massive, but still smaller than the Demogorgon. Plus, he only has a kitchen knife. The Demogorgon from the start could leap on Michael and he'd have to struggle to get it off while being slashed with two very sharp claws and a 5 lipped mouth lined with razor sharp teeth. The amount of lethality the Demogorgon packs simply as a part of its body is the deciding factor, since Michaels weapon is far weaker and can be taken away. Michael in DBD is only from the first/first couple movies, where what he was capable of surviving wasn't as intense as the later movies. He's more affected by gunshots than the Demogorgon is.

  • Time for me guessing how my main (the Demogorgon) would fare against all the killers. Going off of the licensed killers movies and not in game, and going off the barebones aspects of the original characters disregarding game mechanics...

Demogorgon vs. Michael: I see the Demogorgon easily eviscerating Michael, he's just a man with a knife despite his 'pure evilness', eventually the Demogorgon would tear Michael into incapacitation or death.

Demogorgon vs. Spirit: While I don't see the Demogorgon being able to be damaged by the Spirit very efficiently, I don't know if the Demogorgon could destroy the Spirit. If the Demogorgon can shred her physical body that would count as a win, otherwise it'd be a slow and steady process of slicing up the poor helpless beast.

Demogorgon vs. Nurse: Same as vs. the Spirit, except the Nurse is much more physical and even weaker. The Demogorgon is more likely to be able to destroy the Nurse, and if not, the Nurse couldn't kill it. Stalemate.

Demogorgon vs. Freddy: If the Demogorgon is in a 'microsleep' like the survivors, Freddy could be weak enough to be killed. However if the Demogorgon is fully asleep, Freddy could probably kill it. I'm not sure of the extent of Freddy's omnipotence in the dream world, but he could probably conjure up something that can kill it.

Demogorgon vs. Oni: If the Oni were bloodlusted, the Demogorgon would absolutely lose. However, the Oni might not be able to draw blood from the Demogorgon in the first place, and even then its blood might not fuel him. I believe that the Demogorgon has a little advantage against normal Oni, but loses against fully powered Oni.

Demogorgon vs. Trapper: Trapper loses, easily. In the show the Demogorgon gets caught in a bear trap, but unless he has the chance to place those, he's helpless (even if the Demogorgon was caught in a trap, the Trapper would die trying to approach it).

Demogorgon vs. Hillbilly: The Hillbilly has more leverage than the Trapper, but still loses I believe. If the Hillbilly can get a good chainsaw in the right place then the Demogorgon is a goner but the Demogorgon would probably get the jump first.

Demogorgon vs. Wraith: Wraith's dead. All he can do is hide in the spirit world.

Demogorgon vs. Huntress: Huntress is dead. Those hatchets aren't doing anything

Demogorgon vs. Legion: Oh god, it's a bloodbath

Demogorgon vs. Clown: A feast, and not because the Demogorgon's got big fingers

Demogorgon vs. Pig: Like Legion but less blood

Demogorgon vs. Doctor: The Demogorgon has a tie to electricity in the first place. Those shocks wouldn't even get through the skin. All that metal wouldn't taste very good though.

Demogorgon vs. Leatherface: Mix between the Clown and the Hillbilly. Leatherface has a much smaller chance of landing a devastating chainsaw hit, however, but will make for good chili either way.

Demogorgon vs. Hag: The Demogorgon wouldn't bother with rotten meat, but it would stop it from struggling.

Demogorgon vs. Plague: The Demogorgon would be turned off from the sickly flesh but would gladly cut the fountain off.

Demogorgon vs. Ghostface: Once he's found, it's over.

  • The symbols on the tag are alchemical. It's possible the Alchemist put those symbols on the tags to show what material he mixed with the serum to test its effects, since all of the killers from the first set have 'copper' but the new ones have new symbols.

  • For Ghost Face, it's canonical that Ghost Face is not a singular person, but anyone who wears the mask taking on the persona of the Ghost Face. Similar to the Legion, except anybody can pick up the mask and become a new Ghost Face. As for Halloween and other horror licenses, it's apparent that the Entity can take people from multiple universes. It's easier to believe than to think that the events of all these movies (and Stranger Things) all happened in the DBD universe.

  • Probably all used up by the Entity and thrown into the void, or still being used in the trials but we're unaware. Even less likely is that some became killers.
