I refuse to buy ANYTHING from BHVE until they whip themselves into shape. They should be ashamed treating such a loyal fanbase so poorly then try to make up for with a thinly veiled attempt at an apology.
They only did this because of the backlash, not because they actually care.
-
I've had it with this game. Been playing on console for a couple years and switched to PC in March and I've never seen PS4 performance so poor.
The balancing decisions, performance issues, bugs and shameless money grubbing tactics (this years halloween event) have finally drove me away. This will be the first Rift and upcoming DLC I won't be purchasing. I absolutely refuse to support BHVR right now and it would take a complete 180 turn around to change my mind.
BTW I love this game and DO NOT want to see it fail but honestly, if things keep going this way it will fade in obscurity.
-
Are you kidding me?
Survivors after all this time of running BT, Adreneline, DS and Unbreakable are mad because killers have a strong perk combo and have the gall to say the killers are being uncreative? Please give me a break.
-
I'm not saying that i'm against an early game but Killers have learned to become very efficient with out a lot of slowdown. When they do implement the "Early Game Collapse" some killers will feel really oppressive. I almost always 3-4k every match as it stands currently.
-
I would like to see perks put into categories and then not let two perks of the same category not be stacked.
Ex; Unbreakable and Decisive would be labeled as a "Second Chance" perk thus not be able to be run together
Same rule would apply to killers as well.
Corrupt intervention and Ruin would be labeled as "Generator Slow Down" so they also couldn't be paired together.
It would force players to look outside the meta and try to discover cool interactions

Oni is annoyingly strong. Its really easy to get his blood fury, and its even more easier to hit survivors with his kanabo.
Oni is strong for 45 seconds without add ons. Then he has to recharge his power. Give the poor guy a break

The fact that his power can be exploited by stairs is not okay.
Are we talking about the rites of judgement or punishment of the damned?
Either way its not very problematic that his power doesnt work on stairs. On the tractors on Coldwind if you charge your attack and release as you approach the top you can get survivors as they vault.

You think it's funny not being able to hit survivors on stairs or through holes on the floor with your attack? You think it's not just a "last minute decision" to make cages not work with any perks? He feels really unfinished and I bet he will get adjustments in the future.
I believe it was never intended for the ranged attack to go up inclines, or over gaps. It's already a great zoning tool I don't think it needs any buffs. Except maybe inflicting torment on hit.
-
I hope not. I'm hopefulthey work out the bugs but I'm quite enjoying him as is.
-
Honestly the practice of zoning doesn't get discussed a whole lot and it feels like only recently people have been talking about it since PH is so darn good at it.
One of the best zoners I think people often overlook is Spirit though. You can get by just by faking your phasewalk and forcing them to slowly try and slip away from a dropped pallet.
-
I've been saying Leatherface is underrated for a long time. I would play LF over Clown or Legion any day
-
I had to learn to not let the pressure of playing killer get to me. If I play well and win. Great. If i play bad and lose oh well.
If i get a sweaty 4 man swf and they send me to Ormond or Haddonfield then there isnt much I can do but try my best.
-
Like a lot of horror icons PH has had quite a few changes in his design.
You have one camp of people who feel like he is exclusively a James Sunderland monster and should not be used in anything else besides SH2
Then you have Konami who will use him in whatever they see fit (which they have every right to do so) which means in just Silent Hill itself he has canonically appeared in Silent Hill Homecoming (5) where he has the more angular front on his helmet.
He also shares that design with his movie counterpart but those should be treated as its own seperate continuinity apart from the game series.
-
Let's just get rid of them both
-
The crosshair would help even if the hatchets curve because it gives a point of reference. Please give us a crosshair for us poor console players
-
Been using Nemisis, PWYF, Dark Devotion and Ruin/Corrupt for non stealth killers.
On stealthy bois good old antiheal perks
Sloppy, nurses, thana, and 1 gen slowdown
-
Jeff and Kate!
-
I think the only buff he needs is his ranged attack inflicting torment.
The cages are good not just for avoiding survivor perks but for separating teammates and forcing them to make time comsuming trips across the map.
His trail forces survivors to crouch around them, buying you time like hag traps in a way
I admit the usefulness of the cages and rites of judgment are situational, but if used tactically then they can waste a lot of time on the survivors end. Don't forget he is still a 115 killer that can basic attack and make hooks.
-
Give it time and the people who are just playing him because he is new will drop out.
-
I main Oni as well but I would still give the trophy to good ol billy, just for map pressure alone. The fun part about Oni is resource management.
That's also why I dont think they will make Billy have to refuel his saw. That would literally make him no different than Oni and if they did Oni would take his place.
-
He might actually need a buff. Been playing since release and while im still trying to p3 him he seems pretty fair. Lots of opportunity for outplay on both sides.
I think the only buff he needs is maybe increase the range of his attack or have it give torment if it lands
-
Spirit and Billy below Doctor? You mad lad
-
Spirit at B tier on PS4?? You mad lad
-
Been having serious sound issues on my end. It's really tough testing out the new killer when survivors are as quiet as church mice. Sometimes they turn around a corner and I lose them because I cant hear.
Was really looking foward to this chapter but it is kind of leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
-
He is difficult to use but rewarding imo.
I think he is fine maybe some small buffs.
I WISH the devs would buff the Third Seal.
Not just for PH but for all killers. I wish the third seal would work on everything to rainbow maps to pig cages to plague fountains and for cages. Its a hex perk why cant it be super strong?
-
It's annoying because most DSers play super aggressivly. They intentionly put themselves in harms way and when the killer chooses to slug because they anticipate DS they bring unbreakable.
-
She isn't easy but she isn't extremly difficult either. I think most red rank killers have a working knowledge of her and keep The Spirit in their back pocket when it's time to 4k.
-
I hate that people don't FNAF the credit it deserves. It was actually really important in putting horror back on the map and introduced a whole new generation to horror with a very simple concept.
DBD isn't a horror game it's a horror themed game. A FNAF chapter would fit right in, and to be honest fits in better than a Silent Hill chapter (which i'm very excited for btw)
Whether people like it or not FNAF will become iconic in the world of horror.

That's an interesting idea that the bargain may not have been struck between The Entity and Pyramid Head, but perhaps The Entity and The Sun Goddess. However, maybe it was done through Pyramid Head, and The Entity may have thought he was talking to one, but instead it was The Sun Goddess speaking through Pyramid Head.
I did wonder about any bargains it had with The Mind Flayer, but I get the impression there were so many Demogorgons, it probably didn't even care about losing one.
The biggest thing to consider as well is that The Sun Goddess may not even actually exist.
See in the Silent Hill theorycrafting community the big debate is "does the town itself have the power to manifest ones darkest most evil secrets?" or was "everything happening because of the cult?"
I'm convinced the cult has no power. That the towns strange abilities manifested Dahlia's and Alessa's visions of what God was and mostly Alessa's perception of the cult was to blame for the events in SH1.
Which to me seems like Pyramid Head is just a manifestation of the town itself. Possibly making him one of the strongest killers lore wise.

PS2 Silent Hill games even by todays standards are amazing works of art and truly technilogical marvels.
It's really unfair of you to compare the games in this fashion and not acknowledge the good things Behavior brought for this ADAPTATION of these characters. PH looks WAY better than his SH2 model. It's post like this that the Silent Hill community and their avant garde taste get such a sobby reputation.
Btw we are getting a graphical update and some aspects look amazing. Give them a break
-
It is super interesting. I think the one thing that separates PH from the others is the fact that he is a created being with no free will of his own. So perhaps the forces of Silent Hill are "loaning" PH until he is needed again.
-
Was Pyramid Head the only Killer the the Entity had to bargain with?
-
Dr. Frankenfurter as a killer and Rocky as a Survivor
-
Oni. I enjoy that i can keep playing him and continue to get better.
Before Oni swapped between Spirit and Ghostface
-
I hope not. I don't even think after the changes he is anywhere near top tier.
-
I like how he implies that Killers need to adapt to new strategies, but it was too much to ask survivors to go find a totem.
-
Idk if this has anything to do with it but i have an HDR mode on my 4k T.V.
When i turn it off it makes it much more managable.
-
How is the console optimization process coming along? Can we expect some major improvements in the near future?
-
I'd buy the game on PC and Switch if I could get cross progression.
-
Love playing as;
Oni
Spirit
Ghostface
Hate playing as;
Legion (boring design and boring asthetic. You run and stab. His power? You run and stab slighty faster yet slighty worse)
Clown (love the asthetic, but his power leaves something to be desired)
Trapper (no early game pressure and too easy for survivors to mess with)
Love playing against;
Billy
Huntress
Demogorgon
Hate playing against;
Hag
Spirit
Freddy

Imagine;
If survivors had to search for gas cans to fuel the generators. Then in order to carry the gas can to the gen they had to drop their currently equipped item. This would help with "op" items as well
They take 4 seconds to fill the gen and proceed to repair said generator.
No need to adjust gen repair times. No nees to adjust toolboxes.
THEN imagine the new flood of perks they could make relating to the additional objective of finding fuel.
-
The bigger issue is a rank 9 killer getting queued with rank 1 survivors.
-
Played Killer for the first time last night in a while. I've dropped down down to rank 9 (was rank 1)
Got NOTHING but red rank teams, not that I care because I can play at that level, but I can't imagine newer killers trying to pick up this game.
I'd actually like to see how many new players are coming into the game on console. It seems like we don't enough
-
@hex_genrush said:
Can we just get a option to disable swf pairing or give the swf a handicap
I don't think they need a "handicap" and separate queues would only increase the queue times.
-
Maybe the devs could temporarily unlock the characters just to use the perks.
-
I agree we face more groups on console but most swf are not ultra, try hard, sweaty optimized groups.
Most are just people wanting to play with friends.
Feels bad though when you do get a super team.
-
Honestly survivors and map size dictate which killers are top tier.
The reason why Billy is top tier is because he hits all the right check marks
He can dramatically cut down chase times with the chainsaw. Either by breaking pallets or hitting the survivor with the chainsaw.
He can traverse the map quickly. Letting him engage with survivors more often.
However these things take practice on Billy so its not like a brand new player is going to queue up as Hillbilly and take on a team of red rank survivors.
Which takes me to my next point. Which is probably the most important thing people should consider when talking about hillbilly changes; he has COUNTERPLAY.
It's not hard to force a billy to resort to basic attacks.
-
PS4 needs more killers. I'm at red ranks and im getting paired with rank 14 killers all the time. It must be so fun for newer killers to get stomped like that.
-
She is still top tier. I play spirit more than other killers.
But i havn't played much killer last couple of months because of the wonky sounds. On top of that i believe her new prayer beads are bugged. Survivors can hear the phasing sounds while still in her terror radius.
If the devs fix the sound issues next patch I might start haunting around again though. I think she is very fun to play and against good survivors it can be a challenge :)
